Inspirational Australian Turia Pitt has announced that she is expecting her first child with partner Michael Hoskin.
The bushfire survivor told Sixty Minutes last night that she is 15 weeks pregnant, and due in December.
Ms Pitt discovered she was expecting a first days before she was due to fly to Mt Everest.
She told Hoskin while he was brushing his teeth. “I just walked in and I left the pregnancy stick there,” she said.
Ms Pitt told the TV programme that she is confident that Mr Hoskin will make a brilliant father. “He had to look after me for years, and he was so patient, so caring. I think those qualities, especially in a parent, are really desirable.”
Ms Pitt suffered burns after being caught in a bushfire while competing in a 100km race in WA in 2011.
