Former Bachelorette Georgia Love has come a long way since appearing on the Channel 10 reality series. Not only has she become engaged to Lee Elliot, who happened to appear on the series alongside her, but she’s had time to reflect on the experience, now giving some sage advice to upcoming Bachelorette Angie Kent. Oh, and of course spilling some detail on her upcoming nuptials.

Speaking to Love, she spilt on everything from how Lee proposed (hint: it has a cute connection to their Bachie time), what her wedding plans include and her advice to Angie Kent heading into the Bachelorette premiere.
How Did Lee Propose?
“We went away…So my birthday and our anniversary are in the same week,” Love told marie claire while hosting the launch of Best & Less’ new spring collection. “So we went away that weekend to celebrate both of those things, and he makes a fuss about those kinds of things anyway. So I wasn’t thinking there might be any more to it.
“And we stayed in this beautiful little kind of house on the water in the Hawkesbury. And then on Sunday morning he told me to dress as if we were going to a winery. So he told me what to pack, but not where we were going. Also, knowing me, that I would have a winery outfit. When we were waiting to be picked up, and the boat that I’d taken him on our very first date on The Bachelorette pulled up.”
She continues, “With the same skipper, too. So we were talking about, we were kind of going, “Oh, could you believe it was three years ago we were here”. And all of this, and they were talking about what they remembered of the day. It was really beautiful. So then we went and moored out in the middle of the water in this nice quiet little alcove area. So Lee put his drone up as he always does. Whenever we’re somewhere cool, it’s drone footage. Also, again, looking back, maybe he’s done that so much recently so it wouldn’t throw me off.
“And then he sat down next to me and he now tells me he had this whole speech prepared. But when he tried to say it, he just kind of went to water and it came out sounding really odd. So he just skipped straight to the end. But of course, ended with the all-important ‘Will you marry me?’ question. So I just bawled my eyes out and said, ‘Oh my God.’ And forgot to actually say yes. But then when he pointed out that I hadn’t said anything, I said yes, yeah.”
Have You Started Planning?
“We’ve started looking into what we want to do and thinking of things. We’ve kind of narrowed down some ideas, but we still haven’t booked anything yet. It’s just really fun being in this kind of newly engaged excitement bubble.”
And obviously, Bachelorette starting up next week. Any choice words for Angie going ahead?
“I’m really excited to watch this season just as a fan. I’m really excited to see Angie – I think she’s great. I think my only kind of advice for her would be for her to just sit back, watch and just enjoy it. Because you… It’s a really bizarre, but in a very cool way, bizarre thing to get to watch a highlights reel of a three-month chunk of your life. Which is really what it is. She knows what happens, but she gets to sit back and watch this highlights reel.
“It would be easy to get caught up in it and stress about it and worry. But just watch it and have fun and enjoy watching the love story playback.”
