Sheer styles have been steadily gaining traction in recent years, and with them, a growing allegiance of fashion-forward celebrities committed to freeing their nipples.
In the past, bare breasts have been deemed distasteful and overly sexualised, with social media sites like Instagram and Facebook policing posts featuring female nipples.
Slowly but surely, however, these standards are shifting. In 2012, for example, the Free the Nipple campaign broadcast the gendered contradictions around going topless to a global platform.
