Inside The David Jones Autumn/Winter 2019 Fashion Show

Our highlights from the runway

David Jones has proven they are not to be messed with when it comes to their famous bi-annual fashion show, taking the runway spectacular to new heights on Tuesday night, holding the autumn/winter 2019 show at Tasmania’s famous MONA — Museum of Old and New Art.

Complete with a guest list that included models, like Montana Cox, designers, which included Kit Willow and Carla Zampatti, and VIP guests like Teresa Palmer, DJ’s put on an aptly named Art Of Fashion show to go in theme with their Art Of Living season launch. The show was an ode to prints and colour, with David Jones ambassadors and models Victoria Lee and Jessica Gomes taking to the runway in a slew of must-have winter dresses. Special guest Gemma Ward was the master of sparkle, turning heads in some of the season’s coolest party numbers.

Prints, including leopard and tiger, were everywhere, and local designers held their own against DJ’s impressive suite of international names, which includes street style favourite Balenciaga and It girl bag label Danse Lente. The styling was relaxed and easygoing, with the show very much embracing the positive and colour-packed feeling — a mood we’re excited to take into the season ahead. Scroll down for some of the highlights from the runway and the front row.
