Kate Middleton Wore Jeggings And Combat Boots

Now we want to wear jeggings and combat boots

When royals deviate from their usual, the world notices. When Meghan Markle doesn’t wear stockings, or when Prince Harry quits smoking the headlines are rife. So when Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, chooses jeggings over jeans, we sit up and take note immediately.

Visiting the Islington Community Garden on Wednesday, Middleton’s outfit was very British hunting chic. The all-green affair included a tweed jacket, olive pants and combat boots, also a departure from the royal’s classic ankle or Wellington boots. However, the pants caught our attention for their seemingly stretchy composition, leading us to believe that Kate was wearing jeggings in lieu of jeans.

As identified by What Kate Wore, the jeggings are an older Zara pair which Kate already had in her closet. Made from spandex and a light denim, the pants are a more comfortable version of jeans with the same comfort found in traditional leggings. The Duchess reportedly wore the pair in Canada during the royal tour in 2016.

A closer look confirms the theory, with up close photos of the pants showing they lack a traditional jean seam and are definitely more snug than any cotton denim blend would be. Investigative fashion, people.

Kate's boots

Kate’s boots, which are See By Chloé and available on sale at Net-A-Porter right now, prove the royal is definitely on-trend. Taking cues from Gigi Hadid and Hailey Baldwin, who are all fans of the combat boot, Kate’s version of the classic shoe is perfect for a chilly London day — and for anything outdoorsy.

Jeggings and a trendy boot? 2019 really is shaping up to be a big year for Kate’s wardrobe.
