Can you believe awards season has rolled around once more? We are already deep in the throes of a kinetic New York Fashion Week, and thankfully, the sartorial spectacle shows no signs of abating.
Today, our favourite stars are descending upon Los Angeles’ Peacock Theatre for the 2026 Emmy’s, taking to the red carpet to celebrate the year that was in television. For the 78th annual ceremony, proceedings will be helmed by Law & Order star Mariska Hargitay, who made a suitably dazzling entrance in a glittering Monse red gown, its sequins giving way to intricate feather-like forms.
Leading the nominations this year is HBO Max’s medical drama The Pitt, with an impressive 25 nods, followed by Hacks with 24. Widow’s Bay has earned 19 nominations, Pluribus follows with 18, and Netflix’s Beef has garnered 16. But the Emmys have always offered something beyond television accolades.
The ceremony has long been a faithful patron of red-carpet glamour, giving rise to some of the most memorable fashion moments in awards-season history. Cast your mind back to 2021, when Anya Taylor-Joy, nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her acclaimed turn in Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit, arrived in a custom buttercup-yellow Dior gown.
Or travel further back to 2000, when Sarah Jessica Parker brought a little Carrie Bradshaw flair to the Emmys, sweeping onto the red carpet with characteristic aplomb in a ballerina-inspired Oscar de la Renta confection, complete with a voluminous feathered skirt and matching bow tied coquettishly around her arm.
And this year, that illustrious style streak shows no signs of waning, with Nicole Kidman, Selena Gomez, Zendaya and Florence Pugh already gracing the red carpet in a dazzling array of looks.
As the stars continue to sweep onto the red carpet, stay tuned as we bring you the most captivating looks from the 2026 Emmys.
