All eyes are on Venice for the annual Film Festival as A-listers, models and VSPs (Very Stylish People) flock to the city and the event’s red carpet. The 83rd Venice International Film Festival commenced this week in the Italian city renowned for its winding canals, romantic bridges and unmatched combination of glamour and drama. One of the most prestigious events in the film industry, the festival serves as the launching pad for many anticipated features.
Taking over the Venice Lido from September 2 to September 12, this year’s lineup includes Robert Pattinson’s dark comedy Primetime, Danny Boyle’s Murdoch drama Ink, Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem’s psychological thriller Bunker, Werner Herzog’s Bucking Fastard, Martin McDonagh’s black comedy Wild Horse Nine, Lee Chang-dong’s Possible Love and Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Marilyn Monroe short Flesh Impact.
But while the films may be the reason everyone has descended on the Lido, the Venice Film Festival red carpet is an event in itself. Unlike some of the more traditional premieres on the film calendar, Venice has become synonymous with a particularly elevated approach to dressing — think archival fashion, custom couture, spectacular jewellery and the occasional vintage fashion deep cut.
Already we’ve seen Kendall Jenner in vintage Giorgio Armani from the designer’s Fall/Winter 1995 collection and former marie claire cover star Leslie Bibb in a breathtaking ArdAzAei gown.
From luscious designer gowns to extravagant jewels, here are some of the best looks from the 2026 Venice Film Festical red carpet, so far.
