Gwyneth Paltrow Has Found The Right Brad To Marry, But Still Loves Ex Brad Pitt ‘So Much’

From Pitt to Falchuk.

It has been 25 years since their split, but Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt still have love for one another.

In an interview for Goop, Paltrow and Pitt reunited when chatting about his new clothing brand, God’s True Cashmere. But aside from fabrications, the former couple ended up reflecting on their relationship, and how despite their breakup, they’ve maintained a close connection.

When opening up about her late father Bruce, who died in 2002, the 49-year-old actress shared that her father approved of Pitt and was excited to have him as a son-in-law, adding that “we didn’t get married, unfortunately”.

“Right,” Pitt said, laughing. “Oh man, everything works out, doesn’t it?”

To which Paltrow jokingly replied, “Yes, it does. I finally found the Brad I was supposed to marry. It just took me 20 years,” referring to her husband, producer Brad Falchuk who she married in September 2018.

“And it’s lovely to have you as a friend now,” Pitt said, and Paltrow agreed, “it is”.

“And I do love you,” Pitt admitted, and again, Paltrow agreed by responding with, “I love you so much”.

Pitt and Paltrow first began dating in 1994, and in December 1996, they were set to wed. But after a one year engagement, the pair called off their relationship in 1997.

Following her split from Pitt, Paltrow went on to marry Coldplay frontman Chris Martin in 2003, with whom she shares two children with, 18-year-old Apple and 16-year-old Moses. However, she and Martin ‘consciously uncoupled’ in 2014.

For Pitt, he went onto marry Jennifer Aniston in 2000, but the pair broke things off in January 2005, after rumours of Pitt’s connection to Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-star Angelina Jolie surfaced. By August 2014, he and Jolie were married and shared six children together. But by 2016, Jolie had filed for a divorce from Pitt, and the pair are still dealing with legal arrangements to this day.

When hearing about Paltrow’s father’s approval of their marriage, Pitt went onto praise the late director for having a “profound effect on me and is someone I still think about”.

The 58-year-old actor went onto share how he admired Bruce’s parenting, even admitting to Paltrow that “the man was funny”.

“He was funny. And you guys were so funny together, ripping across the table, which was a rarity that I hadn’t experienced much, and I loved it. The fun you guys had was infectious. You could just see how much he adored you.”

“Did you feel paternal energy from him?” Paltrow asked Pitt, to which he answered, “one hundred percent”.

“I felt the same kind of guidance that you would get from a coach or a mentor.”

This isn’t the first time that Paltrow and Pitt have shown that there’s water under the bridge.

In a 2020 interview with Harper’s BAZAAR, Paltrow shared that she and her former Se7en co-star were “friendly”, adding that she doesn’t “have any really bad blood” with any of her ex partners.

After witnessing their admiration for each other, here’s hoping that more one-on-one moments between Paltrow and Pitt are in our future.
