With the Farmer Wants a Wife reunion done and dusted, we’ve been wondering which of our favourite couples survived the show and trotted off into the sunset together.
Farmer Jason, who was arguably dealt the most blows this season, ended up choosing Poppy as the woman he wanted to continue his journey with.
Jason’s connection with Poppy ruffled the feathers of many of the other women vying for his heart throughout the season, with several questioning how their relationship could work given Poppy’s stance on having children. After all, having more kids was originally a deal-breaker for Farmer Jason, making his decision to choose her all the more surprising.
In the finale, Jason opened up about taking a chance on their relationship.
“I’ve always said I wanted to have more kids, and you’ve been honest and upfront about your thoughts on that. But you said you’re open to it, and it does scare me that it might not happen. But in saying that, maybe it’s a risk and it might not pay off, but I’m willing to take that chance.”
He continued: “You’ve made me a better person. You’ve made me a better man. Poppy, I am falling for you. Will you come back to the farm with me?”
She gleefully accepted, and the seeds of their future together were officially planted.
While we weren’t fully convinced of their spark at the reunion, Jason appeared to be holding onto hope that their relationship would continue to blossom. However, his comments suggested there were already some doubts about their future, particularly when he revealed that Poppy wasn’t ready to say she loved him yet. Poppy also made it clear to host Natalie Gruzlewski that moving to Jason’s farm was still a long way off.
“It is far too early,” she said. “I want it to develop naturally; I don’t want to force anything.”
Since the reunion, Poppy has revealed that the spark began to fade for her, telling Women’s Day: “I don’t think there was ever a time when I just woke up and thought, okay, I’m not feeling it. It sort of develops over time, and we all know in real life, you go out and you do things, and you get to know each other, and you know pretty quickly whether or not things are going to work.”
Ahead, everything we know about the pair’s breakup.
Are Farmer Jason & Poppy Still Together?

Jason and Poppy’s split doesn’t come as a huge surprise, particularly given their differing views on having children. While Jason had a turbulent start to the season, with several women choosing to leave the farm, it ultimately came down to Logan and Poppy. Even then, we weren’t entirely convinced either woman was the perfect match for him.
Speaking to Woman’s Day, Poppy revealed that despite spending time together after filming concluded, the relationship never quite evolved beyond its initial spark, prompting her to ultimately call time on their romance.
“It wasn’t long after the reunion, but it was certainly not a week after… I didn’t cut things off as quickly as I think Jason’s been saying, but I also didn’t drag anything out,” Poppy said. “I spoke with him over the phone. It wasn’t just a text that was sent or anything.”
She added that, ultimately, she didn’t believe their lives were compatible (which, admittedly, we could have seen coming from the beginning).
“On my end was just working out whether we were going to be suitable, whether our lifestyles fit, and importantly, whether I had those strong feelings towards him,” she explained.
Jason, meanwhile, revealed he was blindsided by the breakup.
“It was something I wasn’t expecting,” he told New Idea. “I don’t know, she said she wasn’t feeling it… It’s basically all she said, really.”
He went on to explain the timeline following the reunion.
“I think the reunion was on a Friday. We flew back to Brisbane on Saturday,” he said.
“Then we stayed with her friend Saturday night in Brisbane, and I drove back home on Sunday morning. She went back to her place, and texting went pretty quiet on her end during the week. Then she called on Saturday and said, ‘It’s over.’”
The farm may not have yielded a forever romance, but we’re hoping Jason and Poppy both reap the rewards of finding love on their own terms.
