For weeks now, we’ve watched Married At First Sight couple Elizabeth Sobinoff and Seb Guilhaus’ love story blossom, providing us with the only real light out of the dark, and confusing tunnel that has been MAFS 2020. But last night, fans of the controversial reality show were served with a kick in the guts, making us question whether there is any hope left for this season’s contestants.

At the final dinner party, the Honesty Box challenge returned and this year’s questions – prepared by the experts, of course – were some of the toughest and most confronting we’ve seen.
“They are pointed and crafted for each couple,” relationship expert John Aiken announced to the group. “Enjoy the rest of the dinner party!”
Of course, Seb and Lizzie were up first, and they definitely didn’t hold back, the 30-year-old personal trainer asking the MAFS veteran “Are you falling in love with me?”
While the other contestants and viewers at home were waiting in anticipation for Lizzie’s romantic response, her short “no” definitely had a few people, including Seb, shocked.
Despite the awkward and equally heartbreaking moment, Lizzie had a valid reason to support her stance.
“I definitely think I want to get to know you more and see what it’s like in reality with you,” she said, looking Seb deep in the eyes.
Mishel turned to Seb, who was shaken and on the verge of tears. “How does that make you feel?”
“Those words are very difficult to hear,” he admitted. “But the reality is, it’s been such a short time in the experiment. I need more time to bring that word into things. Look, I’ve got feelings for Lizzie, absolutely. Love, I’m not ready to use that word.”
What shocked most of the other couples was when both Lizzie and Seb both admitted that they’d never told anyone they love them before.
“We’re similar in a lot of ways. The fact that we’ve both never been in love. And that we both have trust issues and both self-sabotage. We’re going at our own pace together, we’re working on it together.”
“I do want to change and I do want to be in love,” she admitted.
