Let’s be real, Married At First Sight 2020 has gone a little anticlimactic since Hayley’s exit, but producers weren’t going to let her sail off into the distance without one final hurrah – and that’s the type of dedication we all need in these trying times. Take a bow MAFS producers – Hugh Marks, Nine CEO, give them a pay-rise, pronto!

Chris, Hayley and Vanessa – as well as some other, insignificant, previous contestants – were all rounded up for boys’ and girls’ night – much to the ire of the show’s two-timing villain Michael and his plump-lipped wife, Stacey.

Chris, Hayley and Vanessa were present on the night that Michael was alleged to have pashed Hayley, which lead to Hayley’s husband David using her toothbrush to scrub the toilet.

“I’m the one who saw Michael and Hayley hook-up,” Vanessa said. “Michael would have taken whoever was in front of him that night and it just so happened to be Hayley.”

“I did not kiss Hayley,” Michael continues to claim.

But he gets the shock of his life when he sees Chris walk in to surprise him and he realises the jig is about to be up.

“I was just a bit nervous, I don’t get nervous very often,” Michael said. We. Love. To. See. It.

Chris struts in like he’s the King-Ding-a-Ling making accusations left, right and centre – accusing Michael of definitely kissing Hayley on that fateful night.

“Vanessa called me saying she has footage of you doing it and she assures me you were rolling around in the bed hooking up,” Chris tells Michael.

“I will own it if it’s happened, just let me own it, but if not, just leave me alone,” Michael says.

“He looks a bit stressed for someone who says he isn’t stressed,” Chris laughs.

But there’s a catch: Chris didn’t see the kiss happen.

“Chris, you’re not a very good star witness here, mate,” Michael grins. “The jury is out and I think I am getting off.”

Cut to girls’ night, where Stacey’s sourpuss could stop a clock.

Lizzie, who is definitely being fed lines by producers, goes straight in for the kill, and asks Hayley, “Did you hook up with Michael?”

“Yes I did hook up with Michael and I think that’s clear and evident to everyone sitting at the table,” she tells the group.

Vanessa adds: “We were dancing around, we were having a great time. Michael came in and he was pretty wrecked as well and the things that came out of his mouth …”

Hayley interrupted: “He was trying to hook up with you [Vanessa] at one point.”

“Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit,” Stacey says. “You’re running his name through the dirt and he’s not even here to defend himself.”

“Did you see Hayley and Michael kiss?” Connie asks Vanessa.

“Ya, 100%,” Vanessa replies.

“Now we have another witness, there is your answer,” Connie says.

But there’s another catch: Vanessa lied about having footage of the pash in the hopes that Michael would confess.

“I made up a white lie, it didn’t bloody work, this is why I don’t lie, lesson learned,” Vanessa says, and her credibility diminishes.

In the absence of cold, hard evidence, Stacey, who constantly likes to remind everyone that she is a lawyer, refuses to believe the kissing claims.

“Where did you get your law degree – out of a cereal box?” Hayley asks Stacey.

“You’re a bulldog, mate,” Stacey tells Hayley.

“I object,” Hayley replies.

On her way out the door, Vanessa drops one more bombshell for good measure: “I do think Stacey is a fool but I’m sure she has a much bigger secret that she is hiding from her husband … that she’s probably hooked up with someone else.”
