Prince William and Prince Harry have always been each other's rock. Since high school, the royal brothers have barely stepped out unless by each other's side, with their two cheeky grins and dutiful stances. The shared tragedy of losing their mum, Princess Diana, at such a young age and their understanding of their roles in the royal family has led them to become the two upstanding men they are today.
But, recent reports have claimed the brothers are at odds, not having spoken in "250 days". While the Duchess of Cambridge and Sussex were photographed walking together at Sandringham over Christmas, the Royal Family attempted to put to rest rumours of a rift between the two wives.
While Kate and Meghan amiably chatted on the walk, Harry and William noticeably ignored one another.
The Sun claims things have gotten so bad between the brothers they are barely speaking and have not spent any time on their own since Harry's wedding to Meghan last May. 250 days to be exact.
Reports are only further verified by Prince Harry's decision to move out of Kensington Palace in favour of Windsor's Frogmore Cottage.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will move to Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor Estate early next year as they prepare for the arrival of their first child,” a spokesperson for the royal couple said last year. “Windsor is a very special place for Their Royal Highnesses and they are grateful that their official residence will be on the estate. The Duke and Duchess’s office will continue to be based at Kensington Palace.”
"Harry feels very imprisoned at Kensington Palace," royal biographer Ingrid Seward further told People."He can’t wait to get out.”
The Sunclaimed that it was “tensions”between Harry and brother William that led to the split from Kensington Palace entirely. Per a source for The Sun, Meghan and Harry were originally planning on living in one of the main apartments in Kensington Palace, but that due to some alleged fighting between the brothers, “Harry and Meghan don’t want to live next to William and Kate [anymore] and want to strike out on their own.”
Another source told Vanity Fair, that Harry “wants to be his own person not in William’s shadow” and that “the countryside works for him and Meghan because they want to raise their son or daughter away from the limelight.” The publication's source - allegedly a mutual friend of the princes - claimed that Harry was annoyed last year when William “wasn’t rolling out the red carpet for Meghan.” Added theVanity Fairsource: “They had a bit of a fall out which was only resolved when Charles stepped in and asked William to make an effort."
While there's no way to tell if the reports have any merit, we're hoping the brothers work things out.
