Beauty lovers, 2026 is going to be our year. Cult US makeup brand, Hourglass Cosmetics, has revealed its plans for expansion in Australia, meaning early access to launches, previously inaccessible limited-edition sets and fast-tracked delivery for us often-forgotten devotees living Down Under.

That’s two major expansions (following the news of Rhode Beauty‘s upcoming launch) for us to now look forward to. Huge.

The news comes after the beloved brand’s contract with Mecca ended leaving many concerned about the future of procuring their favourite products.

The brand has earned cult status for its complexion-first approach, with hero products like Vanish Airbrush Concealer, Veil Hydrating Skin Tint, Illusion Luminous Glow Foundation SPF 30 Phantom Volumizing Glossy Balm (a personal favourite for plump, shiny lips) and Unlocked Instant Extensions Mascara becoming mainstays in professional kits and editor-approved routines alike.

Long before “conscious beauty” became industry shorthand, Hourglass pioneered luxury vegan formulations, proving that innovation and animal welfare need not be mutually exclusive. Its groundbreaking creation of Red 0, the first-ever vegan alternative to carmine, cemented the brand’s reputation as a trailblazer.

“Hourglass continues to redefine luxury through innovation, performance, and a strong relationship with our global community,” said Carisa Janes, Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Hourglass. “This expansion allows us to elevate the Hourglass experience for our customers with deeper access to our artistry, design, and brand vision.”

Hourglass’ expansion will see the brand move into Sephora stores nationally as well as the launch of its direct-to-consumer online store for Australia, hourglasscosmetics.com.au

To celebrate the launch, the brand is hosting an immersive pop-up in Sydney, from February 26 to March 1, 2026, which will feature personalized shade-matching, artistry-led masterclasses, exclusive product drops and the the Ambient Lighting Edit: Charms experience (where you can design your own personalised palette adorned with collectible charms).
