Brie Larson and musician Alex Greenwald have reportedly ended their engagement after almost three years, People reports.
“They have taken a step back from their engagement for the time being but they remain close,” a source told the publication.
Larson and Greenwald dated for several years before becoming engaged in May 2016.

While Larson generally liked to keep her relationship private, while accepting her Best Actress Academy Award in 2016 for her performance in the Lenny Abrahamson-directed Room, the actress gushed about her then-boyfriend.

“My real partner, Alex Greenwald, I love you,” she said.
She further told Entertainment Tonight in 2016, “Oh man, I mean, he’s the other half of the equation—how can you explain support? I mean, it goes beyond anything. He’s just my person, he’s my best friend.”
The pair are yet to formally address the split.
