New York Fashion Week has started garnering somewhat of a reputation in recent years—specifically that it has lost its fashion lustre—but the return of Calvin Klein to the schedule proves otherwise.
After a six-year long hiatus that left a gaping gap in the city’s Fashion Week slate, the label’s return naturally attracted a star-studded FROW from iconic supermodels Christy Turlington and Kate Moss to a casually cool collective of actors and musician including Bad Bunny, FKA Twigs, Simone Ashley and Greta Lee.
Even Klein himself made an appearance in support of the brand’s new creative director (and first female lead at that), Veronica Leoni.
Staying true to the signature Calvin Klein minimalism, Leoni infused a soft, feminine touch into the Fall 25 collection that is so often absent in such refined tailoring.
At the core of the collection were wardrobe staples and nods to its thriving undergarment category—materialised in an intimate knitted henley, a flowing slip dress, slouchy tailoring.
A balance of minimalism and self-expression, models—including Kendall Jenner, a rare sight for NYFW—walked the runway in weightless tailoring that followed three key silhouettes; lean and narrow; loose and cropped; and draping and enveloping.
Speaking to the collection and the brand’s legacy, Leoni says, “My goal is to define an ultimate and definitive expression of monumental minimalism and pureness through shape and craft, bringing Mr. Klein’s original vision and distinctive approach into the current day.”
