When it comes to iconic pieces, no one does it better than Dior. From Carrie Bradshaw’s legendary saddle bag to Princess Diana’s Lady Dior bag, the French fashion house knows how to perfectly meld its signature luxury with modern silhouettes—and its latest sartorial offering is proving just that.
The new Dior-ID sneaker, designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri, is a luxury upgrade to our classic white sneakers, offering up a clean, sleek aesthetic. First released with Dior’s spring/summer 2021 collection, the Dior-ID comes in various colourways, including white, nude, and black for those wanting to stick with the classics, while a metallic silver-tone version is best fit for those looking to add a little flair.
The design comes with the fashion house’s signature logo embossed in gold on the strap, and it’s finished off with five lines that round its front.
To celebrate the launch, the fashion house presented a Snapchat Lens that was specially designed for users to virtually try on the Dior-ID’s for themselves, in all its available colours. And of course, the Maison released its savoir-faire of the new sneaker, showing how the design went from sketch to sneaker and a “look behind the laces” to see how the latest kick got its soul.
“Machine and man come together to create a singularly unique style featuring hand-cut contrast leather trim, intricate handworked stitching, and hand-applied rubber tongue. A star, one of the House’s symbols, adds a touch of luck and prosperity to the sole,” the description read. Watch it below.
