There are red carpet moments, and then there are Nicole Kidman moments — and the 2026 Oscars delivered one of her finest.
Arriving at the Dolby Theatre on March 15 to present at the 98th Academy Awards, Kidman stepped out in a powder-pink custom Chanel gown by Matthieu Blazy, looking, by every measure, like the very best version of herself.
The strapless dress featured a heavily embellished bustier of white and gray crystals and black beading, forming an almost triangular pattern across the bodice, before giving way to a peplum of light beige, blush pink, nude, and apricot feathers.
A gradient feather appliqué then extended down the skirt, thinning through the thigh and gathering again around the lower half and hem — the contrast between the dense, jewelled upper half and the soft, diffused skirt giving the gown a dreamlike quality that few could pull off with such ease.

The jewellery told its own story. Kidman wore Chanel High Jewelry throughout — Endless Knot earrings in 18K white gold with Japanese cultured pearls and diamonds, a Contraste Blanc ring in 18K white gold set with a striking 5.1-carat emerald-cut diamond, and a Tweed Brodé ring in 18K white gold and diamonds. Together, the pieces added quiet, extraordinary opulence to an already exceptional look.

She styled her long strawberry-blonde hair in beachy waves with a centre part: relaxed, luminous, and completely at odds with the idea that glamour requires effort.
The gown fits into a broader Chanel chapter for Kidman, who returned to the house as an ambassador in October 2025, attending Matthieu Blazy’s debut show in Paris before appearing at the haute couture presentation in January.
Her Oscars appearance felt like the natural peak of that relationship — and proof, if any were needed, that Kidman just keeps getting better.
