I know, I know, you’ve heard it all before: “Florals for spring… groundbreaking.”
But what if, by chance, this time they actually are groundbreaking? And no, I’m not talking about yet another floral print. Those, I will say, seem to have been quietly relegated to the back of our wardrobes.

This year, we’re seeing a new wave of florals taking the fashion world by storm—and they’re far more tactile than anything we’ve seen before. Think embellished, three-dimensional and hand-crafted blooms that quite literally leap off the fabric.
We first saw the trend blossom on the runway following Mathieu Blazy’s Spring 2026 debut for Chanel, where oversized floral brooches, textured floral gowns and intricate embroidered appliqués made a particularly memorable appearance.
More recently, Daniel Roseberry did what he does best and left us all stunned with Schiaparelli’s Fall/Winter collection—which, despite technically being a cold-weather offering, has been living rent-free in my mind as we head into spring in the Southern Hemisphere.
Sculptural jackets, dresses and skirts were adorned with embroidered flowers, with some looks reportedly featuring as many as 12,000 individual blooms. Subtle, it was not.
And the trend isn’t confined to the runway. On a local level, Pinterest data shows that interest in more tactile takes on florals is blooming, with searches for raised embroidery, wisteria gowns and 3D floral capes all seeing a notable surge. Perhaps most tellingly, it seems we’re becoming increasingly interested in florals that quite literally leap off the page—and, more importantly, our clothes.
The moment that really drove it home for me, though? Joey King’s recent appearance on the red carpet for Practical Magic 2, where she stunned in a pale yellow Miu Miu dress. Sheer and delicately embellished, the gown featured intricate embroidered flowers, styled with a matching bra and brief set underneath. It was romantic, a little unexpected and, most importantly, felt distinctly of-the-moment.
There’s truly no doubt that florals are back—but how you choose to embrace them is decidedly your own.
For some, the easiest entry point might be a few smaller additions to an existing wardrobe: a sculptural floral brooch, an embellished bag or a pair of three-dimensional earrings. Others, meanwhile, may be ready to dive head-first into the trend, letting oversized, embellished blooms take centre stage.
Whatever your preference, allow me to reassure you: florals aren’t going anywhere. In fact, they might just be back—and better than ever. Perhaps even groundbreaking.

Perhaps the easiest way to embrace the trend? A floral brooch. Once considered a decidedly traditional accessory, the brooch has been enjoying a very fashionable revival. Oversized, sculptural and often wonderfully dramatic, floral brooches have become an easy way to transform an otherwise simple outfit without committing to head-to-toe florals.
