Jamie Lee Curtis showed genuine shock as she took home Best Supporting Actress for Everything Everywhere All At Once, listing off a few expletives as she got up to accept the award.

It appeared like the actress said, ‘Sh*t up’, before getting up on stage to accept the award

Curtis, 64, was emotional but purposeful, calling for the audience to stop applauding so she could begin her speech.

“Stop! I have 45 seconds and I promised Janet Yang [President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science] I would do it well because I am a good girl,” she joked.

While it may have been Curtis up on the stage accepting the gold statue, she took the small amount of time she had for her speech to thank everyone who had got her there. She told them, “WE have just won an Oscar.”

As she held back tears, she thanked all of the people who had worked on the film Everything Everywhere All At Once, including “my bae, Michelle [Yeoh]”, Ke Huy Quan (who won Best Supporting Actor) and Stephanie Hsu.

Curtis also took the time to thank her ‘Dream Team’, including her manager.

She descended into emotion as she got to those closest to her.

“To my family, my beautiful husband Christopher Guest, our daughters Annie and Ruby, my sister Kellywe just won an Oscar,” she said, crescendoing into a yell towards the end.

Curtis thanked the “hundred and thousands” of people who have watched her movies at home throughout the years, and finally touched on her parents.

Jamie Lee’s parents are American actor Tony Curtis and actress Janet Leigh. Tony passed 13 years ago, in 2010, while Janet passed nearly 20 years ago in 2004. Her mother had been nominated for the same award that Jamie Lee just won, earning a nomination for her role in the 1960 film Psycho. Her father was also nominated, in 1959 for his role in The Defiant Ones.

For Curtis, finally winning this Oscar was a culmination of both of their efforts.

“And my mother and my father were both nominated for Oscars in different categories…I just won an Oscar,” she said, finally letting the tears take over as she left the stage with a bow.
