The 2026 Emmy Awards have arrived, ushering in another season of television’s grandest celebration, with a star-studded field of returning favourites, breakout contenders and intriguing newcomers.
Leading the nominations is medical drama The Pitt, which has secured an impressive 25 nods, followed closely by Hacks with 24. Widow’s Bay is not far behind with 19 nominations, while Pluribus has earned 18 and Netflix’s Beef has picked up 16.
It is a formidable field, with plenty of room for surprise wins. And while we may have a comprehensive list of Emmy predictions, truly anything can happen once the ceremony begins.
Mariska Hargitay has taken on hosting duties this year, her presence marking a departure from the Emmys’ tradition of choosing a strictly comedic emcee as well as being the first female host in 15 years.
The four-time Emmy winner is best known as Olivia Benson on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, the longest-running character in an American prime-time drama.
The 2026 Emmy Awards are shaping up to be one of the most competitive ceremonies in recent memory, with established favourites, under-the-radar gems and unexpected omissions all vying for their share of the spotlight.
