Stella and Filip emerged as one of the few genuinely unproblematic couples this season on Married At First Sight.
While the show tends to thrive on misalignment, emotional reversals and increasingly theatrical dinner parties (we’re looking at you Bec, Gia and Brook), their relationship unfolded at a different pace entirely, one that felt quieter, steadier, and at times easy to overlook precisely because it worked.
From the very beginning, there was a natural closeness between them. Both arrived genuinely wanting the same thing and, importantly, seemed to recognise that in each other early on.
That’s not to say it was entirely seamless. At their wedding, Stella’s friends raised concerns about Filip’s influencer ambitions, flagging what they saw as potential red flags. Later, the couple found themselves navigating more real-world conversations around contraception and the practical question of who would relocate once the experiment ended.
Still, those moments never tipped into drama. If anything, their ability to communicate clearly and meet each other with a level head only seemed to strengthen their bond. As Filip later reflected, while other couples were caught up in surface-level conflict, they were focused on the kind of issues that actually matter beyond the show.
There was also a deeper layer to their connection. Stella, who moved to Australia from Lithuania in her early twenties, and Filip, whose family immigrated from Croatia when he was just one, shared a similar understanding of what it means to build a life somewhere new.
And off camera, they were putting in the work. Stella later revealed the two would wake early to spend time together before filming began, carving out a few uninterrupted hours each morning just to talk. A small detail, but one that speaks volumes about how intentionally they approached the relationship.
By the time Final Vows arrived, there wasn’t much left in question.
What Happened During Stella & Filip’s Final Vows?
Set against Sydney Harbour, surrounded by an abundance of florals, Stella spoke first at their Final Vows, and it was undeniably sweet. She described what they had as “beautiful, rare, real, magical,” reflecting on how quickly their connection had deepened into something that felt truly lasting.
Filip followed with the same sense of certainty, recalling the moment he first saw her and how, even through challenges, they had continued to choose each other.
Then, in a final twist, he reached into his jacket pocket, dropped to one knee, and proposed.
“Are you kidding me?” Stella replied through tears, pulling him into an embrace. “You’re the best, honestly.”
“It all makes sense why it didn’t work out in the past,” she added. “I’ve waited for this person for 32 years of my life.”

They entered the reunion as an engaged couple and, beyond the show, they’re still very much in love.
Sharing a series of photos on Instagram, Stella reflected on their relationship, writing:
