It was Roach himself who appeared to casually suggest that Zendaya and Tom Holland may have already married in secret. “You missed it!” he teased on the 2026 SAG Awards red carpet when asked about her future bridal look. “The wedding’s already happened!”

The comment was unexpected, but it has since cast everything in a distinctly bridal inflection, particularly given that The Drama centres on an engaged couple whose wedding week goes spectacularly off the rails.

Most notably, the return of an ivory silk-satin Vivienne Westwood dress, first worn by Zendaya herself to the 2015 Oscars, at the film’s Los Angeles premiere.

Even the outliers nod to the familiar refrain of something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue: a black Armani Privé gown first worn by Cate Blanchett and reposted by Law as “#something borrowed,” and an electric Schiaparelli couture gown finished with blue ombré feathers and a tiered ball skirt, a neat echo of something blue.
