If there’s one piece fashion people couldn’t get their hands on, it’s the bomber jacket that sold out—on repeat. For Autumn/Winter ’26, ROMY is bringing the silhouette back into focus.
This season, the Tasmanian label explores the tension between bold colour and artistic detail. Think marigold set against modern chartreuse, with painterly brushstrokes offset by hand-drawn motifs from artist Jake Pedro, whose ongoing collaboration with the brand returns once again.
At the centre of it all? Statement outerwear and directional denim. The viral bomber silhouette makes its return (with an updated twist for 2026), while barrel leg jeans emerge as the new off-duty staple—most notably through the Romy x Jake Pedro “Jakey Jean,” finished with the artist’s signature hand-drawn motifs.
Founded in 2022 by Emma Petterwood, the brand was born from the success of her Hobart boutique, After Eight. Known for its curated mix of Australian and international designers, the store laid the foundation for ROMY—an art-led label with a distinctly local point of view.
That same ethos carries through today. Each piece is produced in limited quantities, made mindfully with a focus on quality over quantity. Fresh from a New York residency with We Wear Australian, ROMY continues to build global momentum—one sell-out piece at a time.
As for styling? Let the statement pieces lead. Pair the bomber with relaxed denim for an effortless take, or lean into the collection’s bold contrasts by mixing colour, print and texture in equal measure. Either way, if history tells us anything, these are the pieces that won’t stay in stock for long.
