With any famous pregnancy comes the innate curiosity about the baby’s parents.
And in the case of Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik’s recent announcement, the level of curiosity is twofold.
Although it’s all fun-and-games to speculate on certain genetic or personality traits, we’re all guilty of taking a bit more interest in their personal lives beyond their social media.

Relationship: Gigi’s Sister
While Bella Hadid is hardly unknown to the world, Gigi and her little sister seem to have an unshakeable bond since birth. The pair often share old photos from their childhoods and vacations, and although both have busy schedules as world-famous supermodels, their bond appears to be strong as ever.
Yolanda Hadid
Relationship: Gigi’s Mother
Another familiar face of the Hadid family is Gigi’s mother, Yolanda Hadid. The family is incredibly close, and are known to spend every holiday with each other. In an interview on Dutch celebrity news TV show RTL Boulevard, Yolanda shared her thoughts on the pregnancy, saying: “I’m excited to become Oma in September… we feel very blessed”.
Famous within her own right, Gigi’s mother Yolanda Hadid was an in-demand model in the ’80s and today stars in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Anwar Hadid
Relationship: Gigi’s Brother
The youngest sibling, Anwar Hadid, is arguably the most low-key member of the Hadid family. With his modelling career taking off, Anwar has started to make waves in the fashion industry, and has even been dating pop singer Dua Lipa since 2019.
Mohamed Hadid
Relationship: Gigi’s Father
Real-estate developer Mohamed Hadid and Yolanda Hadid were married for six years before their divorce in 2000. Despite being separated, the pair are anything but distant with their three children. Particularly Mohamed, whose Instagram is virtually dedicated to sharing snapshots of his children’s achievements.
Marielle Hadid
Relationship: Gigi’s Half-Sister
The eldest of the Hadid siblings, Marielle Hadid, is Mohammed’s daughter from a previous marriage. She recently launched an eyewear brand, Hadid Eyewear, and is a mother of two—her children often make appearances on Gigi’s Instagram. Like the other Hadids, she also appears to be very supportive of Gigi.
Alana Hadid
Relationship: Gigi’s Half-Sister
Alana Hadid, sister to Marielle, is the youngest of the two and works as a fashion designer in New York. She has previously collaborated with Lou & Grey and describes herself as having the most androgynous style out of all her sisters.
Ans van den Herik
Relationship: Gigi’s Grandmother
Ans van den Herik, was Gigi, Bella and Anwar’s maternal grandmother. Going by the name of ‘Oma’, the Dutch word for ‘Grandmother’, Ans was a native of Amsterdam and remained there for most of her life. Despite the distance, Yolanda and her children often visited her, each holding an unbreakable bond with her. Unfortunately, in August 2019, Ans lost her battle with cancer and passed away.
Leo van den Herik
Relationship: Gigi’s Uncle
While we don’t hear much from Gigi’s extended family, Yolanda looks to be close to her brother, Leo. Based in Amsterdam, where he was born and raised, Leo looks to be an incredibly supportive uncle to the trio.
Joann and Lizzy van den Herik
Relationship: Gigi’s Cousins
Daughters to Gigi’s uncle Leo, Joann and Lizzy van den Herik, are also based in Amsterdam. While Lizzy seems to be an aspiring musician, Joann has taken to the modelling industry. Like Gigi, Joann is a champion for body positivity and frequently posts about it on her social media.
Tricia Brannan Malik
Relationship: Zayn’s Mother
If you’re hoping for another supportive parent, Zayn’s mother Tricia Brannan Malik, is just that and more. Aside from convincing Zayn to attend his audition for the X Factor, Tricia is also known to be an amazing cook. When the pair were sparking romance rumours, Gigi shared her plans to make Tricia’s curry pasta salad, on her Instagram Story. The family who cooks together, stays together, right?
Doniya Malik

Zayn’s sister, Doniya, is the eldest of all four siblings. Doniya is a British beauty and fashion blogger, Instagram star and entrepreneur. Along with sharing happy snaps with her sibling, Doniya frequently posts her makeup clients to her social media.
Waliyha Malik
Relationship: Zayn’s Sister
Younger sibling to Zayn, Waliyha often works alongside her older sister Doniya as a makeup artist. Waliyha also seems very close to Zayn, with the pair photographed together during the traditional Muslim celebration, Eid, alongside their mother Tricia and Gigi herself.
Safaa Malik
Relationship: Zayn’s Sister
The baby of the group, Safaa is the youngest out of the Malik siblings. Safaa has already started a family of her own, giving birth to baby girl Zaneyah this year, following her marriage in 2019.
Yaser Malik
Relationship: Zayn’s Father
Originally hailing from Pakistan, Yaser appears to be nothing but a supportive father, with his Instagram page almost completely dedicated to his son. A song from Zayn’s debut solo album, “Flower”, is inspired by his father. He praises his father for introducing him to music like Prince, Bob Marley, and Notorious B.I.G.
“When I was little, I think it was a bit of a mission of his to turn me on to ’90s hip-hop,” he wrote in his self-titled autobiography.
“It got into my blood really young.”
