The pair take an impromptu road trip and they meet a runaway along the way, played by Gomez.
The film, which is an adaptation of Jonathan Evison’s 2012 novel The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.

There was major controversy on Saturday when a gorilla was shot dead at Cincinatti Zoo after a four-year-old boy slipped into the enclosure.
People were outraged that his mum wasn’t keeping a close enough eye on him, and that the gorilla ended up losing his life because of it. The boy was safe, and there is debate over whether the gorilla even posed a real threat. The mother, Michelle Gregg, has since defended herself in a long Facebook post (that has since been deleted).
She explained why she thought the zoo’s actions were justified:
“God protected my child until the authorities were able to get to him. My son is safe and was able to walk away with a concussion and a few scrapes… no broken bones or internal injuries.
“As a society we are quick to judge how a parent could take their eyes off of their child and if anyone knows me I keep a tight watch on my kids. Accidents happen…”
Cincinatti Zoo has also released a statement about their actions.
“We are heartbroken about losing Harambe, but a child’s life was in danger and a quick decision had to be made by our Dangerous Animal Response Team.”
While many have criticised them for not tranquilising the gorilla instead of shooting him, the zoo has responded with why they made this decision.
“Tranquilizers do not take effect for several minutes and the child was in imminent danger. On top of that, the impact from the dart could agitate the animal and cause the situation to get much worse.”

Us Weekly have confirmed the news, with a source telling the magazine that the new parents are “over the moon to be new parents.”
“They are always snapping pictures of the baby, and family and friends have been sending gifts,” adds the source.
The couple met on the set of the Americans in 2013, but didn’t take their relationship public until April 2014 however they have remained tight-lipped on their relationship.
The Felicity star did however open up in 2014 about what it’s like to work opposite Rhys.
“What I enjoy is [Rhys] makes it so easy,” the 40-year-old told the Los Angeles Times. “You feel you’re in safe hands, and it’s enjoyable to work like that because you’re sort of like, let him do all the hard stuff.”

Man charged over murder of woman and two children in Adelaide
A man has been charged with three counts of murder over the deaths of his partner and her two young children north of Adelaide.
The bodies of a 29-year-old woman, a six-year-old girl, and boy, aged 5, were found at a home on Jack Cooper Drive in Hillier on Monday.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald Chief Inspector Alby Quinn told reporters at the scene the incident appeared to be domestic violence-related.
Girlfriend rushes to Brazil to join search for missing Australian man
The girlfriend of a missing 25-year-old Australian man has flown to Brazil to help find him.
Rye Hunt, who grew up in Tasmania, set off on an around-the-world adventure last month but vanished in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on May 21.
The last sighting of Mr Hunt – captured on CCTV cameras – shows him at Galeao International Airport carrying a large backpack.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Mr Hunt had been in contact with his girlfriend Bonnie Cuthbert every day during the trip. However, she has not heard from him since May 21.
“My need to have Rye back safe in my arms cannot be expressed in words” she wrote online.

Crocodile attack victim was celebrating friend’s cancer recovery
A woman attacked by a crocodile in far north Queensland was in the area to help celebrate her friend’s recovery from cancer.
Cindy Waldron, 46, is feared dead after being taken by a crocodile in a night swim in the Daintree National Park. She was walking arm-in-arm with her friend Leeann Mitchell in knee-deep water along Thornton Beach at about 10.30pm on Sunday when Ms Waldron was attacked and swept away by a crocodile.
Ms Waldron, who is from Lithgow in New South Wales, was visiting Ms Mitchell to help celebrate the end of her treatment for cancer.
Crocodiles kill an average of two people in Australia every year.

New South Wales police arrested a man yesterday who allegedly posted racist comments on Facebook aimed outgoing Northern Territory Labour senator Nova Peris.
The man, 64-year-old Chris Nelson, from Woy Woy on the NSW Central Coast is a chiropractor and osteopath, claims his account was hacked.
He has been charged with using a carriage service to cause offence according to the ABC.
Nelson was a member of the Liberal Party’s NSW division however the party has since confirmed that he has since been stripped of his membership.
The shocking comments were aimed at Peris, Australia’s first female indigenous federal politician, who just days ago announced her retirement, who shared them to her Facebook page in an attempt to highlight the racism she faces, sharing them alongside the comments: “#Racism — It stops with me.”
“Nova F— off. You were only endorsed by Juliar because you were a black c—,” one of the comments read.
“Go back to the bush and suck on witchity grubs and yams. Stop painting your f—ing face with white s— in parliament. Other than being a runner you are nothing.”
After the story went viral, Peris released a statement, saying “No one has the right to make anyone else feel threatened or discriminated against.”
“I’m sure I share the views of millions of other proud Australians, in that we should pride ourselves on being respectful towards all of our differences as fellow Australians,” she continued. “As long as there is racism in any part of society, I will continue to call it out and fight against it.
Following the incident an online petition was set up calling for NSW police to investigate and it has attracted thousands of signatures.
Nelson will appear back in Gosford local court next month.

With the countdown to the Rio Olympics well and truly underway, a group of doctors, scientist and researchers have written an open letter to the World Health organization (WHO) urging them to move or delay the games due to the threat of the Zika Virus.
“An unnecessary risk is posed when 500,000 foreign tourists from all countries attend the Games, potentially acquire that strain, and return home to places where it can become endemic,” reads the letter which was signed by the experts who hailed from the United States, Britain, Australia, Canada, Norway, the Philippines, Japan, Brazil and South Africa.
“Should that happen to poor, as-yet unaffected places (e.g., most of South Asia and Africa) the suffering can be great.”
The letter described the situation as “irresponsible” and “unethical,” with Rio being the second most affected city in Brazil by the Zika crisis.
“My feeling is that it’s unlikely at this stage that this will happen … but if that’s true, Australia should take steps to make sure that Zika virus introduction here is either prevented or the harm is minimised when it actually gets here,” Charles Watson, a professor of health sciences at Curtin University tells ABC.
“I think we’ve got a lot of work to do in Australia.”
“A single person actually caused the epidemic that’s happening [in Brazil] now,” he added. “Putting 500,000 people in there and then giving them a chance to get infected, sending them all home to their other countries is just an unimaginably risky thing to tolerate.
“At a minimum, they should screen all people coming back from Brazil after the period of the Games and make sure they’re given the right advice.”
The Australian Olympic Committee have committed to providing athletes with ‘Zika-proof’ condoms (on top of the 350,000 male and 100,000 female condoms already on offer in the athletes village) and have stated that at this stage they will not be enforcing mandatory blood testing upon return to Australia.
Female athletes have been warned of the risks of the virus, and women who are pregnant, or planning to be, are being urged to take extra precautions.
“All females of child-bearing age need to be aware of the specific risks of microcephaly in newborns, should the mother become infected during pregnancy,” David Hughes, the Australian team’s medical director tells The Telegraph.
“Following the recently updated guidelines, any team members who are pregnant at the time of the Games need to consider the risks very carefully before deciding whether to proceed with travel to Brazil.”

An investigation by the ABC’s Four Corners revealed that the “self-regulating” fertility sector is putting money ahead of patients, by encouraging women to undergo costly procedures, with little or no chance of giving birth to a healthy child.
Data obtained by Four Corners shows a woman over 40, using her own eggs, has very little chance of having a live birth through IVF. Yet the number of Australian women over 40 using IVF has nearly tripled in the last decade.
Australia has no age limit on subsidised fertility treatments, which cost Medicare more than $250 million last year alone.
A woman aged 41-42 using an initiated cycle – the most common IVF treatment – has just a 5.8 per cent chance of having a live birth. For women over 45, that chance drops to just 1.1 per cent.
Four Corners also argues some women are getting IVF treatments they don’t actually need, and could raise their chances of pregnancy by understanding their fertility cycle, losing weight or exercising more.
Furthermore, some “snake oil” fertility specialists were even shown to be up-selling patients ‘complementary’ treatments, like blood thinners or extra hormones. These were being marketed as a way for clinics to stand out from competition, without any evidence they were effective.

Somebody has invented an alarm clock that doubles as a coffee machine, because apparently dreams do come true.
The Barisieur (oh, what a name!) automatically brews you hot coffee or tea in the morning to wake you up. By setting the clock with water and coffee, and prepping with extras like milk and sugar on the side, the invention wakes you up with the sound of a brewing coffee. And is there any sweeter sound than that?
Unfortunately, the clock lacks a snooze button… but with the promise of a fresh, hot cup of coffee, we have a feeling the urge to wake might be increased.
According to Mashable, the system was developed by London based industrial designer Joshua Ranouf, and has been stuck in the prototype phase for almost two years.
The team behind the invention recently set up a kick-starter to get their invention off the ground, and so far they’ve raised £146, 453 ($298, 851 AUD). They haven’t exactly reached their goal of £380, 000 yet, but there’s still 26 days to go.

While we’re often used to talking about the plight of working mums, a new report says working dads are not pulling their weight at home due to being forced to clock too many hours at the office.
The report released by the Work + Family Policy Roundtable states that Australia is moving backwards on work and family issues and are calling for the working week to be capped at 38-hours.
Aussies are working well past the recommended working week and are calling for tighter restrictions for employees as well as flexible working hours.
“We have one of the most gendered and polarised working time regimes in the OECD,” Roundtable co-convenor Professor Sara Charlesworth from RMIT University tells the Sydney Morning Herald.
One of the largest groups affected appears to be the working fathers, who are struggling to pull their weight at home as they take on more hours as the women take on less.
“When women become mothers they tend to work very short part-time hours. As soon as a man becomes a father his hours of work go up. Australian male full-time hours tend to be much longer than the OECD norm.”
The report is urging the federal government to regulate the workplace, with the exception of mutually agreed overtime, as well as looking at issues around paid palliative care leave, domestic violence leave and paid annual leave on a pro-rata basis for casuals.

A young Australian couple is demanding justice after they were sprung upon by an assailant in their hotel room on their trip to Samoa last year.
Angie Jackson was in the shower when she came back into the bedroom to find a Samoan man crouching by the bed. She screamed, which woke her boyfriend Tommy Williams, who sprung into action to defend her. However, the man was carrying a pair of dress scissors, and threatened to kill them unless they complied to his demands. He locked the door so they couldn’t get out.
After taking all their money and valuables, the man said it ‘wasn’t enough’, and he tied both of them up, binding Tommy particularly tightly. While Angie pleaded for their lives, he proceeded to rape her while Tommy was forced to watch. He then apologised to Tommy, saying “I’m sorry brother, please forgive me. I am hungry.”
The hotel manager, Vittoria, then called out to their room because they hadn’t showed up for their cab, and opened the door when she heard their shouts and screams, and the man fled.
The assailant has since been identified as a prison escapee, and put in jail, but he has escaped again twice, and since been recaptured. He will face trial on 27th June 2016.
Since the incident, Angie’s sister has started a GoFundMe page to attract donations to put this man behind bars. Though she only created the page last week, on May 25, they have already raised over $32,000. The money will go towards lawyers, flights to Samoa and time off work so that the couple can make sure justice is served, as well as therapy for them, as they have both been diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Of the incident and fundraising efforts on the GoFundMe page, Angie has said:
“Money certainly won’t erase what happened to us, nor will it speed up our healing. But it will take away any financial pressure we feel over what is going to be very traumatic and stressful time for both Tom and I, as we try to find some justice for the evil that we were dealt. And most importantly, it will put this man behind bars, where he belongs, for a very long time.”

In a new interview with The Sunday Times, Game of Thrones star Kit Harrington addressed the lesser-discussed topic of male sexism in Hollywood.
While the topic of female sexism in film and television is rife—with Game of Thrones often at the centre of it for its depiction of female nudity—Harrington says there is a “double standard” when it comes to males in the industry.
“There’s definitely a sexism in our industry that happens towards women, and there is towards men as well,” he says.
“If you said to a girl, ‘Do you like being called a babe?’ and she said ‘No, not really,’ she’d be absolutely right.”
The 29-year-old, who plays one of Game of Thrones’ most popular characters, Jon Snow, says it’s just as demeaning to single male stars for their looks.
“I like to think of myself as more than a head of hair or a set of looks – it’s demeaning.”
The British actor says he feels particularly uncomfortable during photo shoots when he is expected to take his shirt off.
“In photo shoots when I’m asked to strip, I’ve felt the sexism,” he added.
“If I felt I was being employed just for my looks, I’d stop acting.”

Jennifer Lopez has reportedly just signed on the dotted line for the deeds to a $40 million estate in Beverly Hill’s ultra-exclusive Bel Air suburb.
JLo is believed to have acquired the seven-bedroom, 13-bathroom, home which previously belonged to actress Sela Ward after an extensive hunt.
The French-country inspired home is spread across 13,932 square feet and sits on a sprawling eight acres.
The features list of this home doesn’t exactly read like you’re run of the mill home, with a draw bridge leading to the front door, 30-seat theatre room, 100-year-old heart pine floors, six fireplaces, three-sided infinity pool, games room, library, suite of offices, massage room, dual dressing rooms, a personal swimming pond – complete with sandy beach and an outdoor amphitheatre that seats 100 people.
JLo is currently trying to offload the Hidden Hills home she once shared with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
She placed it on the market in 2015 for $24 million, however she dropped the price to $20 million earlier this year.

Johnny Depp’s former partner has come to his defence over allegations that he was abusive to Amber Heard.
Actress Vanessa Paradis, who is the mother of Depp’s two children, has described the accusation as “outrageous”.
“In all the years I have known Johnny, he has never been physically abusive with me, and this looks nothing like the man I lived with for 14 wonderful years,” said Paradis in a handwritten letter obtained by TMZ.
“I believe with all my heart that these recent allegations being made are outrageous.”
The couple’s 17-year-old daughter Lily-Rose echoed her mother’s sentiments, taking to Instagram the teen posted a photo of herself as a toddler with her father.
“My dad is the sweetest most loving person I know, he’s been nothing but a wonderful father to my little brother and I, and everyone who knows him would say the same,” she said
The statements come after news that Amber Heard had filed for divorce from Depp – her husband of 15 months – citing abuse.
In court documents obtained by People, the 30-year-old actress provided evidence of two separate accounts in which she says Depp physically abused her.
“During the entirety of our relationship, Johnny has been verbally and physically abusive to me,” she says in the documents.
The Pirates of the Carribbean star has not directly commented on the allegations. However his attorney has filed a response that claims Heard is trying to “secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse”.
The actor’s ex-wife Lori Allison has also leapt to Depp’s defence in recent days.

In last night’s episode of Game Of Thrones, as well as having us weeping over the what went down with Hodor, there was something else that happened that if you blinked you might have missed it (no pun intended).

It seems all that campaigning by Emilia Clarke, who has had more than her share of nude scenes in the hit show, has paid off.
“I feel some things about it,” the actress said when asked by James Corden on The Late Late Show about the nudity imbalance on GOT. “I feel like there’s a little bit of inequality with the amount of nudity that happens with women, this woman in particular, and that happens with the other guys. I just think that should be even.”

Boys from James Hillhouse High School in Conneticut, US are collecting tampons for their female classmates. In a movement to help respect womanhood, they’ve decided to fundraise to provide girls who are menstruating (often for the first time) access to free tampons and pads in restrooms at the school.
The learnt that 86% of women had been out in public and caught by their period, without a tampon in hand, so decided they’d provide free feminine hygiene products so that they’re at the ready when the girls need them.
The New Haven Registerreports that the boys involved are part of the Kiyama Movement, influenced by the philosophy of Malcolm X, with an emphasis on sexual responsibility, fatherhood, respect for womanhood, life and economic accountability.
Other schools in the US are also making efforts to combat this issue, with 25 public schools in New York dispensing free tampons and pads for students.

Lena Dunham has penned an impassioned essay for LinkedIn urging women to stop saying sorry.
“Beyoncé’s Lemonade was a massive cultural event for a lot of profound reasons, not least of which because it gave women a melody to which they could sing the words ‘Sorry, I ain’t sorry,’ again and again (and again),” she writes.
“This refrain immediately became the stuff of Instagram captions and yearbook quotes and screaming, drunken bachelorette parties: partially because it’s catchy as f—, but also because it allowed women to express (safely, while pretending with all their might to be Bey) just how sick to death they were of apologising.”
The 30-year-old actress, writer and director, who herself became “a boss” at the age of 24, says that her “hardwired instinct to apologise” became heightened at this time.
“If I changed my mind, if someone disagreed with me, even if someone else misheard me or made a mistake… I was so, so sorry,” she says.
“Apologising is a modern plague and I’d be willing to bet (though I have zero scientific research to back this up) that many women utter ‘I’m sorry’ more on a given day than ‘Thank You’ and ‘You’re Welcome’ combined. So many of the women I know apologise like it’s a job they were given by the government.”
“Saying sorry serves as a sort of cork, making sure my emotions are contained and packaged neatly. Sorry is the wrapping paper AND the bow,” she wrote. “I say sorry all day, which doesn’t make sense considering I’m not a warlord, a drunk driver or a pizza delivery guy speeding down 6th Avenue on a fixed gear bike scaring the shit out of pedestrians. I am a woman who is sometimes right, sometimes wrong but somehow always sorry.”
Inspired by her father, who suggested she try and spend a week not apologising, Dunham says it’s still a work in progress, but when you stop saying sorry, and start expressing what you actually want or need, everyone benefits.
“I won’t say my father’s experiment cured me,” she continued. “After all, I’ve been apologising profusely since 1989—like pigs in blankets and reading celebrity gossip, it’s not a habit easily broken. But it illustrated a better way. Something to strive for. When I replaced apologies with more fully formed and honest sentiments, a world of communication possibilities opened up to me. I’m just sorry it took me so long.”
However Lena is quick to acknowledge the power and importance of the word in the right situations.
“Mind you, I am not negating the power of a real apology, especially in the workplace,” she went on. “One of the most important things a person in charge can do is own their mistakes and apologise sincerely and specifically, in a way that shows their colleagues they have learned and they will do better (I’ll try, OK!?).”

They’ve each paid $149 to be in this brightly lit Melbourne yoga studio for a class in Orgasmic Meditation, known to its followers as “OM”. OMing is, well, it’s what I just saw performed by Rosa and her lovely assistant Smitta. It’s sexual, obviously, but it’s about more than that. Fans describe its secondary effects in the same language as anyone who dabbles in any kind of spirituality or self-help: it’s about mindfulness, self-actualisation, wellbeing.

Rosa belongs to a group called OneTaste, which is based in the US. It was founded in 2004 by Nicole Daedone, a former Buddhist nun-in-training, TedX speaker and author, who wants to bring the art of orgasmic meditation to the world. Since then, more than 11,000 people have taken its classes and more than 450 people have paid the $10,000 to train as OneTaste coaches, which includes a stay at a doorless commune where occupants spend much time busying themselves between one another’s legs.
The organisation’s website is bright, well-designed and encourages people to live their lives “powered by orgasm!” A bit left field, yet nothing about OneTaste feels grubby, exactly. It looks, to all intents, as wholesome as a Pilates class.

Our instructor, Rosa – she of the magic fingers – became interested in OMing after her first serious relationship. “When my relationship ended, I began to wonder why there was such a lack of connectedness between men and women,” she tells me. “I’d always been interested in personal development, so I began exploring everything out there around sexuality. I read Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus and things with titles like How To Please Your Man. I felt most of this information was stifing and not true to the gender dynamics of today. We live in a world where women are more educated than men. We compete in the same spaces.” Rosa stumbled upon Daedone’s work in a podcast. “It felt game-changing. It was all about how a woman’s sexuality can be a source of power. Rather than hiding it, we should allow it to lead us. Feeling good [through the act of orgasmic meditation] could be our fundamental orientation in the world.”
After absorbing as much information as she could online, Rosa left Melbourne for San Francisco in 2010 to experience a real orgasmic meditation for herself. “I was really nervous,” she remembers of the first time she peeled of her underwear and permitted a man she hardly knew to stroke her clitoris, “but it was a really beautiful experience. The person I OMed with brought an exquisite level of attention to what he was doing. I felt like I was being seen at a deeper level than is typical in ordinary sexual encounters or relationships,” says Rosa.
“Afterwards, I walked around and colours looked brighter, wind felt incredible on my skin. I thought, ‘I want to live here.’” By “here”, she means within the feeling she was experiencing. As it turned out, though, she also wound up living in San Francisco for a few years in the OneTaste community. In July, she brought OM to Australia, and now has classes in most capital cities. “One day, I want to hear the words ‘meditation’, ‘yoga’ and ‘orgasm’ in the same sentence, without the third one being whispered,” she says.

So what exactly is an OM? I’ve had sex, I reasoned before attending Rosa’s class. I’ve had men bring an “exquisite level of attention” to the process – some, it goes without saying, more exquisitely attentive than others. Surely, I’d pretty much OMed already, except for the whipping-off-the-pants-in-front-of-a-room-full-ofstrangers part. Apparently not. An OM, as taught by OneTaste, is an exact process with rigid steps and boundaries. Deviations are discouraged – both to prevent misunderstanding and to ensure that dedicated OMers anywhere in the world can find one another and OM straightaway. You can speak the international language of orgasm.
Surely, I’d pretty much OMed already, except for the whipping-off-the-pants-in-front-of-a-room-full-of strangers part. Apparently not.
First, the “stroker” sets up mats and cushions in a precise pattern, called a “nest”. The “strokee” removes only the lower half of her clothing and lies back. There’s no kissing or breast fondling. The stroker hooks one leg across the strokee’s body and begins by massaging the strokee’s inner thigh before placing his or her lubricated index finger on the hood of the clitoris – using latex gloves, if preferred. The stroker’s right hand is anchored underneath the strokee’s buttocks. The thumb’s tip is inserted into the vaginal opening, “for grounding”.
The stroker then strokes the strokee’s clitoris for 15 minutes – no more, no less. They might go faster or slower according to the strokee’s instructions. An experienced stroker, like Rosa, should be able to bring the woman through a series of peaks and troughs. Afterwards, the couple “share a frame” – which is OneTaste-speak for “describe a sensation” from the experience. That’s what those at the Melbourne workshop were doing as they shouted reports of their own electrified genitalia. Then they go back to their jobs or families, or meet mates at the pub. The idea is that the practice is contained – no-one is supposed to be looking for full sex afterwards, or to go out for a dinner date. It’s just what it says on the tin: a 15-minute clitoral stimulation. A kind of modern day “wham, bam, thank you ma’am”, but with women as beneficiaries.
Not everyone gets the memo about boundaries. When I arrive at the workshop, I sit myself in a quiet corner and bury myself in my iPhone. A small man in his late 30s sits next to me. “Are you married?” he stutters. I nod with a tight smile. There are seven men in the class, and I can’t help thinking that at least some of their motives for being here are less about “mindfulness” and “exquisite levels of attention” and more about getting a good look at one girl getting another girl off. One bloke in heavily logo’d clothing tells the class he wants to “learn techniques to blow chicks’ minds”. The guy who probed my marital status confesses – with an air of someone who’s had unsuccessful internet dates – he’s here to “learn about chemistry”. Later, when the actual live OM starts, Logo Man moves his chair so he can get his eyeballs exactly level with Smitta’s hooha.
Of course, that’s the problem when venturing into any sex-related subculture – it brings out the oddballs. I ask Rosa about this. Didn’t she feel some were there for the wrong reasons? “I think what has men come in the door isn’t what has them stay,” she says. “If they just wanted to learn how to get chicks, there are easier and faster ways to do it than a mindfulness practice. My experience has been that all that bravado drops of once they actually access the connection they’re genuinely looking for. Those who don’t make that transition tend to drop of quickly so the community is full of very open and caring guys who don’t give you the creeps!”
One of those less creepy guys – or so he seemed on the phone – is Simon. This 39-year-old IT consultant has been OMing up to three times per week since July, with approximately 35 different women. That’s a big commitment to getting a woman of, without anything in return. What does he get from OM? “First, it’s about being in the presence of something that’s very beautiful,” he says of his sessions. “And then, it just feels good to be giving that sort of experience to someone else with a minimal outlay. I’ve learnt that I don’t need to have the ‘ending’ of actual sex to feel good. At the end, I get that same afterglow.”
I also speak to 34-year-old single mother and executive called Lily*. She OMs with only one man on a weekly basis. She doesn’t want sex or a relationship. She wants sexual connection with no strings attached. If she ever entered a full-time relationship again, she’d be delighted to OM with him alone. “I think it’s great for couples,” she notes. “So many are so damaged, they’re almost dead. For couples to reach a new level, a man has to give a woman pleasure. Once you do that, you realise you never even knew your own pussy!”
Others refute the idea that the practice can always be contained. Nina* stumbled across OneTaste online and picked up the technique from videos. She asked her fatmate, a good friend, to OM with her. They discussed boundaries. Nina trusted him and felt he understood they weren’t trading sexual currency. Unfortunately, she says, he didn’t play by the rules. Nina did not reciprocate the attraction, and the friendship dissolved. She’s now looking for someone more detached to OM with, adding, “I’m not looking to lose any more good friends.” Like polyamory or open relationships, it’s all fun and games until someone wants a bit of normal.

Back in the bright lights of the OM workshop, Rosa has finished her ministrations. Smitta is sitting up, looking flushed and disoriented, as though she’s surprised to discover she’s just orgasmed in front of 15 strangers. The class is mumbling their appreciation, eager to experience the practice for themselves in the guided ‘‘lab” after the class. Each participant has the opportunity to partner with another if both agree. People begin to pair and prepare their “nests”. As I’m here for purely observational purposes, I head towards the exit – passing Rosa apologising to a forlorn group of men who’ve missed out on partners.

80s star Corey Feldman has recently spoken out toThe Hollywood Reporterabout the problem with child abuse in Hollywood, including his own experiences and those of his friend and co-star Corey Haim.
His comments follow Elijah Wood’s recent comments that there was ‘something major… going on in Hollywood’, relating to child abuse, and that he was commenting from other peoples’ experiences, not his own.
Feldman has been in movies like The Goonies and The Lost Boys, and starred with Haim in The Two Coreys, and he has revealed in the past that he was preyed upon by two men in the industry. One of the men is still a prominent figure in the industry, and Feldman would not reveal his name for fear of being sued.
His co-star, Corey Haim has also been victim to attacks, and was raped at the age of 11 years old on a movie set.
Feldman opened up about how having his own son has brought even further into the light just how horrifying this case was.
“My son is 11 now, and I can’t even begin to fathom the idea of something like that happening to him. It would destroy his whole being. As I look at my son, a sweet, innocent, 11-year-old boy and then try to put him in Corey Haim’s shoes, I go, “Oh my God — well of course he was erratic and not well-behaved on sets and things like that.” What more could we expect of him really? Everybody deals with things differently.”
Feldman revealed that some Hollywood parties for child stars to network with older Hollywood stars were often enabling closer relationships to form that eventually sometimes turned into opportunities for child abuse.
“The lure for kids is that they work in adult world. All of their friends become adults and they very rarely get to interact with other kids, especially because they don’t go to school… So when somebody approaches you and says, “Hey, this is a Hollywood party where you get to hang out with the powerful people in Hollywood,” well that sounds like a great opportunity.
“That’s when you become pals with them and you get their phone numbers and you get their mom’s phone numbers and the next thing you know they talk to the moms and say, “Hey, I want to take Corey out to an event. This would be great for him. Let me pick him up and take him.” And they turn that power over right away to the publicist or the photographers.”
Elijah Wood has even stated that he has probably avoided these experiences because his mum wouldn’t let him got to these parties.
Corey Haim passed away at the age of 38 from drug addiction. Feldman also opened up to The Hollywood Reporter about missing him.
“He was my best friend. I miss the chemistry, I miss having my best friend. He was the only person that could make me laugh unstoppably. He had a charisma about him and a charm and a sense of humour that was unparalleled. That’s something that you don’t find really twice in a lifetime.”
Though Feldman couldn’t provide direct details on the incidents of child abuse that he and others had experienced for legal reasons, he was pleased to be able to weigh in on investigating this very important issue.

Johnny Depp has broken his silence just three days after Amber Heard filed for divorce. The following statement was released by his rep;
“Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent trend and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the spacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life,” the rep said in a statement to Us Weekly. “Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly.”

Nancy Dow sadly passed away this morning in California. Jennifer Aniston has released the following statement:
“It is with great sadness that my brother John and I announce the passing of our Mother Nancy Dow. She was 79 years old and passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends after enduring a long illness. We ask that our family’s privacy be respected as we grieve our loss.”
The Friends star’s estranged mother reportedly went into hospital after a medical emergency on Sunday. It has been reported that the 79-year-old former actress suffered a series of strokes.

Taiwan’s new President Tsai Ing-wen has been labeled as ‘extreme’ because she is unmarried according to an op-ed written by Wang Weixing, a member of China’s body for relations, which appeared on the International Herald Leader website which is published by China’s official Xinhua News Agency.
“Analyzed from the human angle, as a single female politician, she lacks the emotional encumbrance of love, the constraints of family or the worries of children,” reads the piece, which now appears to have been removed from the site.
“Her style and strategy in pursuing politics constantly skew toward the emotional, personal and extreme,” adds Wang.
Tsai, who is Taiwan’s first female president and was inaugurated last week, has been openly criticised by Beijing for her stance the “one-China principle” and fighting for Taiwan’s independence from China.
Thousands of readers expressed outrage at the comments and rallied behind the politician, taking to social media to express their anger at the comments.
“This was the stupidest and most offensive thing I have read in ages,” read a post from one Weibo user. “Many women abroad admire Ms Tsai’s tenacity and drive, especially the fact she is strong and independent and does not need a man to rule.”
“If the tables were turned and Ms Tsai was a man, she would be celebrated for being single. This is typical discriminatory behaviour but it still disgusts me,” added another.

While conventional wisdom suggests that the longer you wait, the higher your chances of living happily ever after, this study suggests of otherwise.
Sociologists analysed data from the US National Survey of Family Growth from 2006 – 2010 and found that your chances of divorce start to increase after 32.
However, the study also found that someone who gets married at 20-years-old is 50 percent more likely to get divorced than someone who weds at 25. And for each year from 20 to 32-years-old, your chances of divorce decrease by 11 percent each year.
Okay, so let’s get these facts straight. You can’t get married before 32. And you can’t get married after 32 either. If you want to give your marriage the highest chances of success, you must get married when you and your partner are both exactly 32. Woah – that’s a lot of pressure!

There are two types of girls in the world: those of use who drag ourselves out of bed an hour early to groom our brows and curl our lashes, and those of us who take a more wash-and-go approach (read: running a comb through your hair while searching for a matching pair of shoes is winning).
A new study has declared that the primpers and preeners among us are earning extra cash.
In a paper titled “Gender and the Returns to Attractiveness” (June 2016) [], sociologists Jacyln Wong and Andrew Penner examined the link between attractiveness and income drawing on data from more than 14,000 people.
Their first finding was one we’ve heard before: attractive people earn more than their less-attractive desk buddies (20 per cent more, in fact). This figure was constant across men and women.
However throw grooming into the equation and things get interesting.
The researchers found that most of the perceived attractiveness of a woman was the result of being well-groomed – bouncy blow-out, fresh mani, you know the drill.
As such, less-attractive but better-groomed women were found to earn significantly more, on average, than attractive women who were less polished.
In other words: you could be blessed with a natural glow to rival Blake Lively’s, but turn up to the office with straggly hair and no lipstick – and your paycheque may take a tumble.
For guys, grooming had a far lower effect on perceived attractiveness.
So what does this mean for women?
It appears that even as we take significant steps towards gender equality in the workplace, women continue to be judged on their appearance – and expected to meet societal standards that have nothing to do with their career.
This scrutiny extends beyond personal maintenance: earlier this month, a British receptionist was sent home for not wearing heels [https://www.marieclaire.com.au/article/news/would-your-boss-send-you-home-for-not-wearing-heels].
Of course, if you rock your pumps like a pro and revel in perfecting your eyeliner each morning, more power to you.
But should the rest of us be missing out on moolah for foregoing foundation?
We think not.
The thing is, if we want to put an end to bleak study findings like these, the conversation needs to shift.

If you’ve ever had trouble switching off, it’s time to be envious of France, because as of this week, a new law designed to help their citizens disconnect from work after hours has officially come into effect.
The French labor reform bill was updated in May, banning medium-sized or larger companies from sending emails after work hours. The amendment has been called ‘the right to disconnect’, and it’s aimed at getting employees in a healthier frame of mind. As of January 1 2017, French people legally have the right to ignore work emails after hours.
In an interview with the BBC, Benoit Hamon of the French National Assembly said: “All the studies show there is far more work-related stress today than there used to be, and that the stress is constant. Employees physically leave the office, but they do not leave their work. They remain attached by a kind of electronic leash– like a dog. The texts, the messages, the emails — they colonise the life of the individual to the point where he or she eventually breaks down.”
The country has been suffering from a problem with work-related stress for a while – asLes Echos reported, 1 in 10 of France’s workforce is at high risk of a burnout, caused by a fear of failure and physical fatigue related to their work.
This newly introduced right is not necessarily an obligation, however the French government is hoping its people will see it as an opportunity to escape such stress in this digital age.

But in the meantime, one of the best things we can do to ‘ban’ ourselves from after hours emails is have a direct conversation with our managers to discuss the limitations and what is reasonable to expect outside of work.

A recent study has analysed the profile pictures of over 66,000 Twitter users to conclude what your profile picture says about your personality. Jennifer Aniston’s mother, Nancy Dow passed away on Wednesday May 25 in California it has been confirmed.
“It is with great sadness that my brother John and I announce the passing of our Mother Nancy Dow. She was 79 years old and passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends after enduring a long illness,” Aniston, 47, tells WHO in a statement.
“We ask that our family’s privacy be respected as we grieve our loss.”
The Friends star’s estranged mother reportedly went into hospital after a medical emergency on Sunday. It has been reported that the 79-year-old former actress suffered a series of strokes.

The 8,200-square-foot home is actually owned by former White House press secretary Joe Lockhart and wife Giovanna Gray who have relocated to Manhattan.
The family will remain in the White House until Inauguration Day on Jan. 20, 2017 when the new President will officially take office.

Chief Theresa Kachindamoto is the leader of about 900,000 people in the Dedza district of Malawi. She is an advocate for the rights of little girls and boys, and has achieved a lot in the last three years, having annulled a total of 850 child marriages. She has also made incredible efforts to make sure these children get an education.
Kachindamoto told Reuters: “I said, well enough is enough but this time I want change. I do not like this. I want these children to be educated. Because if you educate a girl child, in future, they will take care of you,”
Malawi has recently adopted a bill last year to help lower the number of child marriages, by lifting the legal age of marriage to 18. The law protects girls by giving equal status to both parties in marriages.
However, there is still a loophole, as parents can give permission for their children to get married if they are under 18, and Malawi currently has one of the highest rates of child marriages in the world.
Kachindamoto is currently making efforts to get the legal marrying age lifted even higher – from 18 to 21. She is dedicated to providing access to education for every girl, and combatting the effects that poverty has on the state of child marriage.

Pharmacist Yan Chi “Anthony” Cheung has pleaded guilty to spiking the drink of his assistant, Pamela Leung, after she refused his advances.
The 33-year-old, who worked on the University of New South Wale’s Kensignton campus, appeared in Waverley Local Court charged with poisoning to injure or cause distress or pain.
Leung, 26, knew Cheung prior to working with him, however according to the police report she “felt as though [Cheung] became obsessed with her” and would make sexual advances which according to the police report included brushing past her breasts, buttocks and hands.
Leung is believed to have confronted him about his behaviour and he appeared to have stopped, however he then allegedly began spiking her water and coffee with prescription drugs to make her “suffer”, say police.
Cheung preceded to drug the victim 23 times over the course of a year, allegedly with Phenergan, doxylamine, Endep, Seroquel and Deptran.
The drugs used would often cause Leung to fall ill or extremely drowsy during her shifts at the pharmacy, while some of the drugs used have been linked to other health issues with prolonged use including infertility.
After sensing that her water was tampered with Leung checked CCTV footage from the pharmacy and is now being used as evidence in the investigation, with offers alledging that the footage shows Cheung pouring a liquid into the woman’s drink.
“As a pharmacist, [Cheung] had detailed knowledge of these drugs and the effects through his studies and employment,” police said.
Cheung is set to undergo psychological assessment and will appear back in court on July 5.

According to a new study by the Australasian College of Dermatologists’, hairdressers are in a unique position, where they can help diagnose melanomas by pointing out any unusual spots or nodules on the scalp and neck.
Of a study of 237 patients with scalp melanomas, they found that 5% were initially alerted to their melanoma by their hairdresser.
And seeing as scalp melanomas have twice the mortality risk of any other head and neck melanoma’s, it’s important to catch them early.
So, what should you – and your hairdresser – be looking out for? An irregularly shaped and unevenly coloured brown or black patch.
Naturally, men with thinning hair are at highest risk of developing scalp melanomas because of the high sun exposure. However, men and women with a full head of hair are at risk too – especially along the part line.

The post read “In a world of Kardashians… Be a Helena Bonham Carter”.
Kardashian fans were not happy, and attacked Anne Hathaway in the comments of the post. So she took it down, and instead replaced it with the following:
She captioned the post: “It never occurred to me I was pitting anyone against each other. Not my style. Peace x”
Anne Hathaway has been the target of hate over the years, with her haters being so prominent that they even have their own nickname: ‘Hathahaters’.
Her fans have since jumped on the new post and defended her act to post the Kardashian post, however Kardashian fans still aren’t happy. The Kardashians and Helena Bonham Carter haven’t said anything about the incident.
But kudos to you Anne for trying to do the right thing!

Karlie Kloss is following in the footsteps of fellow former Victoria’s Secret Angel Miranda Kerr as she is named the new face of Swarovski.
The move comes as the brand hope to drive its North American business, build its digital presence and bring on a new generation of customers.
“We wanted to bring our brand to the next level but also the next generation — we thought that Karlie would be a perfect match,” says Swarovski’s chief executive officer for consumer goods Robert Buchbauer.
“She represents a certain openness and a certain mind-set — a new philosophy, if you will. She is very fashionable and very beautiful, which is key when you talk about the next generation of consumer — specifically, powerful women who should become our long-term customer.
“On top of that, we’ve decided to put more emphasis on the North American market and who would be better than Karlie?”
The 23-year-old has inked a two-year deal which will see her appear in outdoor, television, print and digital campaigns for the brand covering jewellery, watches as well as sunglasses.
“It’s such a global presence, you see [their ads] in the subway, also all throughout Europe — I’ve been doing a world tour lately and at every airport and every country I’ve been I’ve seen it somewhere,” Kloss told WWD of the global jewellery brand.
“They are a brand that does bridge the gap [between fashion and commerce], the scope of what they do its pretty extreme. In the time I’ve spent working with them I’ve met different family members from different aspects of the business — one part of the business is loose stones, another is stone-cutting, another part is the actual design and the product, another part is working with high-fashion brands,” she added.
After Miranda Kerr served as the face of the label for three years, Swarovski’s creative director Nathalie Colin says the company are keen to “write the next chapter” with Kloss at the forefront.
“Miranda was definitely our first muse. We’ve broken new territory, she was fantastic. Now, after three years it’s about how we write the next chapter. When we worked on selecting our next muse, the next personality, to me it was important that in some ways she build on similar features to Miranda, the business woman, the multifaceted woman who is not only a beautiful face. Karlie has an interest in other fields besides just modelling. I think she will bring something very fresh, very spontaneous, very modern. She has a cool modernity.”

It’s been almost seven years since the King of Pop passed away, and now his daughter Paris Jackson is dedicating yet another tattoo in his honour.
The teen took to Instagram to share her latest ink, which was inspired by the cover art of Michael Jackson’s Dangerous album from 1991.
The 18-year-old captioned the black-and-white photo, “The meaning of life is contained in every single expression of life. It is present in the infinity of forms and phenomena that exist in all of creation.’ Never forget your roots, and always be proud of where you came from.”

A judge has ruled that Bill Cosby will stand trial for an alleged sexual assault on Andrea Constand, which occurred in 2004.
On Tuesday, Bill Cosby attended the courtroom, where prosecutors alleged that he drugged Andrea Constand, a former basketball coach, and attacked her. Now 78 years old, Cosby has been accused of a number of sexual assaults, however this is the only one that has caused criminal proceedings, given that many of the other claims are too far in the past.
The preliminary trial saw a police interview with Andrea Constand in 2005 analysed before the judge, in which Constand described what happened. She said that Cosby offered her some pills to ‘take the edge off’. She told Cosby that she trusted him and soon after, he sexually assaulted her while she was ‘paralysed’.
The judge concluded that there was significant evidence to make Cosby stand trial, and if convicted, he could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.
Cosby has insisted in the past that the sexual contact with Constand was consensual. Constand has revealed that she is gay and was in a relationship with a woman at the time, and that the sexual contact was not consensual.

In her most recent interview with Ellen, Anne opens up about already heading back to the gym, and says she’s feeling ‘a lot more confident’ now.
She describes the experience of heading back to the gym with super-muscly people around her as quite eye-opening after giving birth. “I walk in, I’m like, yeah, I work out with five-pound weights, but I pushed a baby out of my body so I feel good right now!” she says, “So I don’t care what I look like, I feel great!”
On the common coverage of post-baby bodies in the media and commenting on what other people should say about mums’ bodies, she said the only thing she thinks is appropriate: “Which is ‘Oh my God. Good news: Your coffee addiction could be doing you some good!
We already knew that coffee can put a spring in your step and kick your brain into gear. And now, new research from Harvard Medical School suggests that coffee could lower your risk of endometrial cancer.
If you’ve never heard of endometrial cancer, it’s the cancer of the lining of the uterus.
The study found that women who drank more than four cups a day lowered their chance of developing endometrial cancer by 22%. That’s quite a lot of caffeine for one girl to handle. Fortunately, drinking a moderate two to three cups a day was also associated with a lower risk.
It’s worth noting that these benefits were only seen in women with a BMI in the overweight to obese range. However, endometrial cancer is more likely to develop in overweight women in the first place.
Harvard Medical School settled upon these figures after studying 40 000 female subjects across 20 previous studies, 12 000 of whom had been diagnosed with endometrial cancer.

Fact: Blanchett can play any role she wants to and do any accent. We know she can handle a gun with killer instinct (Hanna) but her serious rough-and-tumble action chops are yet to be tested. While she’s Aussie, she has the refined British froideur down pat and with her fiercely intelligent wit and quiet confidence, we see her potentially being the slickest Bond yet.

Fans of the Underworld films already know Beckinsale as a fearless female warrior battling supernatural beasts like vampires and werewolves. Her character Selene’s ability to handle multiple firearms while performing complex fighting acrobatic sequences would serve her well as Bond, against villains much bigger and hairier than herself. Her delicate elfin features belie a steely stomach of cast iron against all manner of horrific blood and gore so we think not much would phase her in her role as the unflappable British Secret Service agent. While she lives in LA, her accent is all Bond already having grown up in Chiswick, London, England.

Having already nailed action-heavy roles in movies like Sicario and Edge of Tomorrow, it’s not a stretch to see Blunt as Bond – she already has the athleticism & (real) accent in the bag. Weisz brings her blue-blood Brit credentials (and accent) to the role of Bond, with her cultured background in film and theatre growing up in Westminster, England. Not an obvious contender, we think she could be the dark horse in this race…

Central casting may ultimately decide to take a fresh angle with the changing of the guard and go with a younger star to portray a Bond still up-and-coming. After her star turn in another much-loved fan-driven franchise (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) Ridley has proven she can carry an action lead role. Authentic British accent is a bonus.

The Australian Greens have today announced their $15 million election pledge to make abortions accessible and affordable for all women across the country.
Larissa Waters, Australian Greens Deputy Leader and Queensland Senator announced their plans to decriminalise abortions as well as cutting back the out-of-pocket expenses associated.
“Abortion should be legal, accessible and affordable. Access to abortion is part of every woman’s right to make decisions about her own body.
“Currently, there are problems with affordability and accessibility across the country, especially in regional areas, while in Queensland and New South Wales abortion is still considered a crime in some circumstances.
“In Queensland, just 1 per cent of terminations are carried out in the public system so many women face hundreds or even thousands of dollars in costs in the private system.
“There are only three private abortion clinics north of the Sunshine Coast, leaving women in some rural Queensland areas to travel over 1000 kilometres or up to 8 hours.
“Women subjected to domestic violence and financially controlling behaviour can face horrific difficulties in exercising their reproductive rights.
“Our plan establishes a Task Force on Abortion and Contraception to clear roadblocks to states providing abortion via their public hospital systems.
“To eliminate out-of-pocket costs, our plan will review rebates under Medicare and the Pharmaceutical Benefit Scheme to ensure they are adequate to cover the true costs,” Senator Waters said.
The plan will also aim to ensure counselling providers are required to disclose their stance on a woman’s right to choose.
“The Greens will introduce national legislation to ensure counselling services are upfront about whether they support a woman’s right to choose,” added Greens’ candidate for the western Brisbane seat of Ryan, Dr Sandra Bayley.
“Deciding whether to have an abortion should not be made more difficult by misleading information from vested interests.”

Jessica Jones star Krysten Ritter recently appeared on the Late Show and argued that ‘girls can sell toys’, in relation to Marvel’s brash comments last week.
Marvel explained last week why they didn’t have a female villain in Iron Man 3, and we’re gonna be honest with you, it was a pretty poor excuse. Although the villain in the original script was a woman, this got changed because the company believed that they would lose toy sales if the villain was a woman.
Luckily all this is slowly changing, with Cate Blanchett taking up the antagonist role in the new Thor movie, but when Krysten Ritter heard about the toy scandal, she wasn’t impressed.
“Really? Oh my god, I didn’t know that. Girls can sell toys!” Krysten yelled, and the audience cheered.
Krysten plays Jessica Jones, who is a former superhero dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder. After climbing the world’s highest summit, Australian Dr Maria Strydom tragically died after succumbing to altitude sickness as she made her descent down Mount Everest in Nepal.
The 34-year-old finance lecturer from Monash University in Melbourne, who was climbing with her husband Rob Gropel as part of tour company Seven Summit Treks, died at 7,800 metres after falling ill as the group made their way from Camp 4 to Camp 3.
Dr Strydom wasn’t the only victim in her group, with Dutch climber Eric Arnold also falling prey to altitude sickness after finally reaching the summit on his fifth attempt.
Despite the treacherous conditions, Dr Strydom’s husband and family are remaining hopeful that they will be able to retrieve her body, and lay her to rest back in Australia.
Extreme weather conditions and lack of oxygen make it near-impossible to reclaim many of the bodies of those who’ve died on the infamous mountain, some 200 bodies are believed to remain, preserved forever in time by the extreme conditions.
Dr Strydom’s mother Maritha Strydom took to Facebook to thank those who were helping with the effort following her daughters death, and expressed her hope that her daughter’s body would be returned home soon.
“There’s a glimmer of hope that Marisa Elizabeth can be retrieved from Mount Everest,” she wrote on Facebook.
Gropel, who was also admitted to hospital and has since been released, is said to be distraught and refusing to leave the country without his wife’s body.
“(Her husband Robert) doesn’t want to leave without (his wife’s body), ” added Aletta Newman, Dr Strydom’s sister.
“Given that she is 8000 metres up a mountain we feel that there is nothing that we can really do. We can’t really go and see her and get her down ourselves.”
Expedition leader Arnold Coster says the company are “assembling a rescue team” in order to retrieve the bodies and took to Facebook to provide a detailed account of the tragic events as they unfolded.
“These tragic events numbed the whole team and our thoughts are with their family and friends. May they rest in peace,” he wrote.
These most recent deaths come after two other climbers died on the summit just last week, and take the total death toll on Everest to over 300 since 1953.

A police investigation is underway after Taylor Swift and a number of her high-profile friends including Gigi Hadid and Cara Delevingne have reportedly received death threats via their Twitter accounts.
The 26-year-old singer is believed to have received a message via the social media site which read, “I will kill some of you.”
According to TMZ, Gigi was also told, “people gon (sic) die they’re gon die die die die!” while a message to Cara read, “I will kill your friends and I am excited about it.”
Police were first alerted to the situation after director Kyle Newman reported threats made to his wife, Jamie King, who also happens to be one of Taylor’s BFFs.
New mum Chrissy Teigen is also believed to have received a threatening message and police are looking into whether this is related.

The 40-year-old has been appointed as a professor in practice at the London School of Economics and will give lectures as part of the school’s new world first Master’s program in Women, Peace and Security.
“I am very encouraged by the creation of this master’s program. I hope other academic institutions will follow this example, as it is vital that we broaden the discussion on how to advance women’s rights and end impunity for crimes that disproportionately affect women, such as sexual violence in conflict,” Jolie said in a statement.
“I am looking forward to teaching and learning from the students as well as to sharing my own experiences of working alongside governments and the United Nations,” she added.
Ange is one of four new Visiting Professors in Practice at the school, with Jane Connors, Director of International Advocacy at Amnesty International Geneva, The Rt Hon The Lord William Hague, former UK Foreign Secretary, and Madeleine Rees OBE, Secretary General of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom also taking part.
The roles were selected for people the university described in a statement as having “appropriate distinction within their area of (non-academic) practice”.

While Brad Pitt was in the process of filming for his new movie, Allied, in Gran Canaria, he jumped into action to save a little girl from being crushed by the crowd.
Fans were up against gates to greet the star, and Brad was taking selfies and shaking hands with fans, when he noticed that a young girl was in a dangerous situation. He pulled her to safety and helped her climb the fence, out of harm’s way.

It must have been quite difficult for both Kristian Nairn (Hodor) and Isaac Hempstead-Wright (Bran) to take on this scene, having gone through so much together as characters already.
Nairn, who is a Hodor-lover, and once even hoped that he would get the crown, was particularly devastated by the scene, but appreciated where it came from.
“I like that he sacrificed himself for his friends. It feels very true to Hodor to me. I’m just flattered I got so far, with so many people dying every year, I think I did quite well to get to season six.”
Isaac Hempstead-Wright can barely live with himself for playing the character partially responsible for his fate.
“He’s one of the only characters on Game of Thrones who genuinely doesn’t have an agenda of any kind, at all. He’s just Hodor,” Isaac said. “So to have him then killed is the ultimate twisting of the knife. It really is these good, kind characters who deserve nothing like that, and who have been through a horrible time themselves. Because Hodor was just, as we know, a totally normal kid who was then sort of screwed over by Bran.”

A 17-year-old teenager from Maryland in the US has become an unlikely internet sensation after tweeting photos of himself at his prom with his boyfriend despite his parents telling him he was not allowed to attend.
Myren posted a series of snaps of himself with his boyfriend Ralph, and wrote “My parents told me I couldn’t go to prom because I wanted to go with my boyfriend so I had to go behind their backs”.
The Tweet currently has over 40,000 likes and 17,000 retweets and while there has been some negativity (because internet) the couple have mostly been overwhelmed with support from the Twitterverse.

“The negative comments were the typical ‘This is disgusting’ or ‘If I was your dad I would beat your ass,'” Myren told Buzzfeed, however he did admit he was surprised by the positive reactions to his defiant act.
“I was surprised when I noticed that people were proud of me and that they respected the decision I had made,” he added.
Myren explained that his parents refused to accept his relationship with his boyfriend, but he decided he had nothing to lose by going anyway.

“My dad said I knew better than to ask him. I knew I wouldn’t get a yes from them, but I thought maybe they would have a change of heart. They never did,” Myren said.
“My parents won’t let me see him. It’s like I’m already living in punishment, so what do I have to lose by going to prom?”.
Despite the outpouring of support he has received, the teen admitted that he was sad his parents weren’t there with him to see him on his big day.
“Everyone’s mum was standing there taking pictures of their kids, talking about how beautiful they looked and how they were so proud of them… I imagined what my mum would have looked like taking pictures of me in my suit,” said Myren.
“When we were dancing together I teared up some because there were times where I never thought we would go to prom, but there we were.”

A lesbian couple who were holidaying in Hawaii got arrested for displaying public affection in a grocery store, and have sued for discrimination, resulting in a $US80,000 ($110,000AUD) settlement.
The couple, Courtney Wilson and Taylor Guerrero were out shopping when a police officer saw them kissing and holding hands in a grocery store. He told them to “Take it somewhere else”, and the couple finished their shopping when he caught them showing affection again. He asked the manager to have them removed, and approached them when they were in line to pay for their shopping.
Courtney pulled out her phone to call the emergency line and complain of unlawful discrimination and harassment, when the police officer grabbed her wrist, preventing her from making the call. There was a conflict in which the police officer threw Taylor to the ground and struck Courtney, and the couple were arrested with assault, and kept in jail for three days.
They ended up suing the city, and eventually dropped the charges when they were offered a $110,000AUD settlement. During the holiday, they had to spend all their budget on bail and ended up sleeping a park for the last few nights.
Courtney said, “I’m glad it’s over, but at the same time, we wanted the officer to suffer some sort of repercussion,” Ms Wilson said.
