A 14-year-old โhigh needsโ girl was reportedly raped repeatedly while in foster care home โ yet her attacker was never taken to court.
The Daily Telegraph reports that a young girl, known only as โGirl Xโ, was reportedly raped multiple times by two youth workers over a five-month period. The youth workers were allegedly having sex with her during โsleepover shiftsโ.
DNA evidence later all but proved the identity of her alleged attacker. The odds of the youth worker being innocent were estimated to be โ100 billion to oneโ.
However, the case was never fully prosecuted by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). And it was only after the youth worker applied for a Working With Children Check that the horrific details of the case emerged.
The move has been described as โbeyond disturbingโ by Family and Community Services Minister Brad Hazzard who has ordered the DPP to review evidence to โensure justice prevailsโ, reports The Daily Telegraph.
The girl has subsequently died (and the cause of her death is unknown). The case was dropped after her death.

Chris Hemsworth And Tom Hiddleston have delighted hundreds of fans on the streets of Brisbane as they arrived on set to film Thor: Ragnarok.
All dressed up in character, the pair waved to the crowds as they filmed scenes for the blockbuster which saw the CBD transformed into NYC with yellow taxis, a yellow school bus and NYPD officers.
While the NYC set gives away the setting for the highly-anticipated film, rumours are the rest of the story is set in spaceโฆ
Chris also posted a photo of the pair on his Instagram account, โJust sellin papers with my mate @twhiddleston #parttimejob#thorragnarok @taikawaititiโ.
The duo, who first met in 2009 when they starred in Thor, have both gushed about each other and their โbromanceโ ever since.
On the red carpet in 2013, they joked about their blossoming friendship.
โWe adopted him. Heโs one of the Hemsworths,โ Chris told reporters.
To which Tom quipped: โI am like the runt of the litter. You know when you get kittens and theyโre all black and white? And I am like the tabby one.โ

Zoe Foster Blake isnโt shy about sharing her favourite things on Instagram (which is why we see so much of Sonny Foster Blake!). But this time, the thing thatโs stolen her heart is a nude nail polish, and we must admit it is very pretty.
โYeah yeah nail polish whatever,โ she wrote. โBut the perfect nude (not too pink or white, not too grey or flat, not too almondy or brown, and not too, um, Jenner-y) is a bit holy graily, so I feel compelled to broadcast it: OPI Tickle My France-y.โ

The brother of Omran Daqneesh, whose image was cast across the globe following airstrikes in Syria last week, has died following injuries sustained in the attack.
Ali Daqneesh, the 10-year-old brother of Omran, died Saturday according to Yousef Saddiq, the director of the Aleppo Media Center, reports CNN.
โHe was in critical condition for the past three days and passed away this morning,โ Saddiq said. โHis mother is still receiving medical care because she is also in critical condition.โ
Ali suffered internal bleeding and damage to his organs after the familyโs home in was struck during airstrikes in Aleppo, Syriaโs largest city.
โHis brother, whose photo was not taken, no one mentioned him, he died and he is by Godโs side now. Omran was pulled out of the rubble quickly to come back to life, Ali stayed under the rubble for a while,โ added Saddiq.
The photo of his brother Omran quickly spread across social media last week, casting a light on the situation in Syria.
โEmpathy and outrage must be matched by action,โ UNICEF executive director Anthony Lake said in a statement. โChildren of Omranโs age in Syria have known nothing but the horror of this war waged by adults. We all should demand that those same adults bring an end to the nightmare.โ
The same day Ali passed away, four more children long with three adults died from another airstrike that destroyed their home.
โWe tell our children now that weโre sorry,โ said a local English teacher, Abdulkafi al-Hamdo according to SMH. โTheyโre not American, theyโre not French. When they die, you wonโt see them on the news.โ

PR queen Roxy Jacenko has opened up about what life is like behind bars for her husband โ and also revealed how his imprisonment has affected her young daughter, Pixie.
The day after appearing on 60 Minutes, where she discussed her cancer diagnosis, Jacenko spoke to Kyle and Jackie O on Kiss1065 FM.
She told the duo that she has visited her husband, Oliver Curtis, twice since he was convicted of fraud, and described prison as โnot a nice place, itโs sad. Itโs definitely not somewhere where you would choose to be.
โThereโs definitely no Foxtel,โ she said, before revealing that she regularly deposits money into Oliverโs account so he can buy supplies. โI have to do two different deposits. I do $100 and then $30, because you canโt go over the amountโฆif you go over the amount youโre in strife!โ
His next purchase is a doona.
Jacenko also revealed the biggest mistake sheโs made since Oliver was convicted was putting Pixie on the phone to her father.
She told Kiss1065 FM: โI put Pixie on the phone to her dad, and it was her birthday, so I put her on the phone to him. The first thing she asked was โwhen are you coming home?โ
โShe cried for the whole day after that.โ
The interview comes the day after 60 Minutes story on the PR queen. In it she was forced to defend the timing of her recent cancer diagnosis and said she doesnโt โgive a f*** what they think on my timing.โ
In the candid interview, which saw cameras allowed into the operating theatre with Jacenko, she revealed she went against doctors advice to remove to have a mastectomy, opting to just remove the cancerous tumour instead.
โI think we also have to look at what has transpired in the last sort of six weeks of my life and making such rash and big decisions right now,โ she told reporter Allison Langdon of her decision. โI donโt think Iโm in the headspace to do it.โ
โI suppose, unlike everything else in my life where Iโll go full pelt, it was, like, this one thing I wanted to do in, I suppose you could say, a phased approach rather than going, โOK, well, chop off my boobsโ,โ she added.
After being forced to defend herself for being paid for the 60 Minutes interview, Jacenko has revealed that she is donating all proceeds to three different charities.
โ[Itโs] extremely challenging as ultimately I put myself out there for everyone to attack,โ she admitted. โOn the flip side, among hundreds of nasty and threatening comments, itโs so incredible to have so many kind, caring and thoughtful messages of support on so many different levels from people I have never even met.โ
EXTRA MINUTES | "Youโd have to be sick in the head to think someone would actually manipulate a timeline on cancer."https://t.co/5K8ZdBFbod
โThe reality is, after so much speculation I felt it was time to respond, and in doing so, as confronting as it was, knowing that I have helped three charities and a hospital with the full proceeds of the interviews I can go to bed tonight knowing I have done something that will help others and hopefully bring cures to a health issue that touches so many and has seen so many wonderful people lost.โ
The charities include Breast Cancer Network Australia, Ovarian Cancer Australia, The Australian Gastro-Intestinal Cancer Trials Group and the Freemasons Epworth Hospital in Melbourne where she underwent surgery.

In an interview with Jessica Martin recently for the ABC, Linda Rodin, who was in Australia to launch her makeup collab with Mecca, suggested the โAdvanced Styleโ phenomenon was a fleeting one.
The phrase, coined by New York blogger and lover of lived-in faces Ari Seth Cohen has caught on.
Since he launched his Advanced Style empire (there are books and a movie as well as the blog) a few years ago, Rodin and her fellow grown up glamazons, people like Iris Apfel, have become fashion pin-ups.
Old is the new black! Why not? Weโre all headed that way. And these women demonstrate that style has nothing to do with age.
โAri is definitely part of thatโฆ but I think it was only a momentary trend: โLetโs give the old bags a go!'โ, said Rodin, 68, adding that while she had modelled sunglasses for Karen Walker in 2013, she couldnโt see herself walking down runways. โI think it was a lovely nod to older women, but I donโt think weโll see it again.โ
Sorry Linda, we love you, but yourโe wrong!
To prove it, hereโs Walker playing with the grownups again, this time to showcase her latest jewellery line. Seth Cohen photographed Phyllis Suez, ex-Ballets Russes star, current 93-year- old fabulous person, and costume designer Roberta Haze, 78, with a focus on their hands,
โHands can be every bit as expressive as faces,โ said Walker. โThese Magic Hands speak of a life well-lived and they absolutely have their own stories to tell.โ
These pictures make us happy. Letโs celebrate all kinds of beauty, including the sort that has been around for a while. Go Advanced Style!

Women are closing the pay gap โ but thereโs still work to be done.
In August, Minister for Women Michaelia Cash announced a bridging gender pay gap, according to new ABS data. The statistics show that women are still earning 16.2 per cent less than their male counterparts, a number that is 1.7 percentage points lower than this time last year and puts the full-time average weekly earnings difference at $261.10.
โGiven that less than two years ago the gender pay gap was 18.5 per cent, these figures demonstrate significant progress,โ Minister Cash said.
โWhile this is a promising improvement, we have a long way to go โ further progress will bring great benefits to both our society and our economy.โ
The Senator for Western Australia assured Australians that the Turnbull Government hasnโt lost sight of closing the gap, stating a number of steps the Liberal Government is taking to achieve pay equality. These include a $13 million investment that aims to get more women involved in science, maths, technology and engineering. The initiative will hopefully see a 50 per cent quota of women in Government board positions.
Continued vigilance is necessary for the disparity in gender pay to continue to dwindle, according to Senator Cash:
โTo see these encouraging results continue we all need to maintain our attention on improving gender equality and that applies to Government, employers and individuals โ ensuring we achieve true gender equality will require a concerted and lasting commitment from everyone.โ
According to Libby Lyons, Director of the Workplace Gender Equality Agency, woman working full-time will need to work more than 14 months on average to earn the same as men earn in a year.
โOver a lifetime, compounded by time out of the workforce due to caring responsibilities, the gender pay gap contributes greatly to reduced lifetime earnings and retirement savings. On average, women retire with just half the superannuation savings of menโ
The fact that the pay gap still exists serves as a critical reminder that โwomanโs potential is not being fully realisedโ added Lyons and that employers have a responsibility to take action to address the pay gap within their own organisations.
Employers can access the extensive resources available from the Workplace Gender Equality Agency to find out more about the gender pay gap and what can be done to address it.

If youโre looking to drop $75 million on a 20,000 acre ranch, we have the home for you.
Designer and film director Tom Ford has listed his Galisteo Basin (just outside of Sante Fe) estate for sale. The sprawling acreage boasts two private guest houses, four staff quarters, a separate office building, a horse barn, and two riding rings. For fans of westerns and budding filmmakers, thereโs a film set where scenes from various movies, including Wild Wild West and Thor, were shot.
Ford, who is clearly an outdoors fan and is not short of space, has also adorned the ranch with a tennis court and a sleek swimming pool.
Thereโs also an airstrip and hanger, because arriving in style is a must at a property worth $75 million.
And, of course, thereโs the magnificent main residence, which was designed by acclaimed architect Tadao Ando.
We canโt wait to see what Fordโs next real estate move will be.

While the long-running Sydney versus Melbourne rivalry rages on, it seems our friends down south have edged ahead by taking out the title of most liveable city in the world according to the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).
But not only did they take out the top spot this year but itโs the sixth year in a row theyโve done it.
The EIU index ranks 140 major cities around the world on healthcare, education, stability, culture, environment and infrastructure.
In second place was Vienna, followed by Vancouver and Toronto.
โWe do not take this title for granted and are constantly planning and implementing policies that will continue to improve our quality of life Lord mayor Robert Doyle tells Fairfax.
โIt is an exciting time in Melbourne: Weโve got many major infrastructure projects under way, including the Metro Tunnel, and the proposed renewal of the Queen Victoria Market precinct.โ
Sydney failed to make this yearโs top 10, coming in at 11, but other Aussie cities fared better, with Adelaide coming in equal fifth place with Calgary. Perth also made the top 10, coming in seventh place.

The Hollywood heartthrob is the latest big name to join the cast of the upcoming sequel to the 1982 cult classic after an impressive portrayal of the joker in Suicide Sqaud.
โWe are thrilled that Jared has agreed to play a key role in the Blade Runner sequel. He is a phenomenal actor, and we all know he will create a truly memorable, never before-seen character,โ producers Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson said in a joint press release.
Character profiles and details on the eagerly-awaited sequel are still being kept firmly under wraps however we do know the film is set several decades after the original and that Harrison Ford is set to reprise his original role as Rick Deckard. Other key cast members include Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis and Dave Bautista.
Back in July Gosling said the forthcoming Blade Runner sequel is โa huge responsibilityโ and joked that โthey put a chip in my neck. If I say too much, my head will explode.โ
Speaking of Jokers, Letoโs co-stars might have to prepare themselves for any on-set surprises that might come their way.
The untitled Blade Runner sequel is slated for an October 2017 release.

A 23-year-old man has been charged with murder in the second degree after drowning his 63-year-old mother in the family pool at their $2.4 million home in New York.
Denis Cullen Jr confessed to killing his mother, Elizabeth Cullen, by putting her in a headlock and walked with her into the deep end of the pool while she she struggled to get free.
The pair are believed to have been having an argument after she confronted him about not taking his medication and โpoked himโ.
โAfter she poked him, he put her in a headlock, walked her from the shallow end of the pool to the deep end of the pool, all the while she struggled,โ said Robert Biancavilla, deputy chief of the homicide bureau in the Suffolk County District Attorneyโs Office, describing Cullen Jr.โs video confession as โchillingโ.
โHe said she struggled violently, and he was surprised a woman of her stature could struggle as much as she did.โ
According to the New York Post, Biancavilla says Cullen Jr. then dragged her body to the backyard shed and covered it with a small dinghy, before having a shower, and leaving with his motherโs cash and car.
He is then said to have caught a train to his sisters house, who is believed to have then called her father. The father then called police who found her lifeless body where her son had left her.
Despite the video confession, Cullen Jr. has pleaded not guilty and is being held on US$8 million bail.
โHeโs quiet. He hasnโt said โIโm sorry,โ if thatโs what youโre asking,โ Cullen Jr.โs court-appointed lawyer, Steve Fondulis told reporters outside court.
โAt this stage, I have to determine psychiatric background.โ

Attorney-General George Brandis released a new guide for judges and magistrates about what constitutes family violence in court.
The Daily Telegraph reports that the guide has expanded the definition to include everything from criticising housework and withdrawing affection to physical attacks.
Law Council of Australia domestic and family violence taskforce chair Dr Jacoba Brasch QC mentioned that of course a once-off criticism was not enough to be considered domestic violence.
Brandis said the main aim of the guide is to help judges in their decision making to understand that domestic violence is multi-faceted and there are many tactics abusers can use. The guide says:
โA perpetrator may intend to intimidateยญ and induce fear โฆ through physical violence or harm yet cause minor or no visible signs of injury.โ
โThe perpetrator may drive dangerously when the victim or children are in the car, or smoke in the home knowing the victim has a respiratory condition, or lock the victim outside during the night.โโ
At the end of it though, Dr Brasch says that it is just a guide, and it is not changing any laws.

As a mum to two with another two on the way, Rebecca Judd knows a thing or two about being pregnant.
Currently expecting identical twin boys any day now, the model and TV star is sharing her top tips with all the other mums-to-be there.
โStaying fit and healthy through pregnancy isnโt brain surgery,โ she writes on her website Rebecca Judd Loves. โIn fact, it can be as easy as 1, 2, 3!โ
So what are her top tips we hear you ask? Here you go:
1.โI try and stay fit and toned throughout my pregnancies by doing Great Expectations exercise classes and clinical pilates. These classes are safe and guided by a womenโs health physiotherapist but best of all, you may even be able to claim them if you have private health insurance. I usually go twice a week. Check with your Obstetrician before signing up.โ
2. โFibre, fibre, fibre! Increased progesterone levels in pregnancy really slow down your digestive system leaving you feeling extra bloated and sluggish. Itโs important to keep things moving so I am a Metamucil addict when pregnant. I add it to my smoothies in the morning with a teaspoon of chia for an extra fibre hit. I also try to increase my water, fresh fruit and muesli intake as well.โ
3. โNever, ever, take any medications, vitamins or supplements without checking first with your health care professional. As mothers to be, we must be so careful not to harm our precious cargo. And thatโs the most important thing of all.โ

In the latest insight to come out of Princess Dianaโs Bodyguard, Ken Wharfeโs new memoir, he opens up about her troubled marriage to Prince Charles.
The pair divorced Aug. 28, 1996 but Wharfe recalls the moment he says that she knew it was over.
He says that when Charles denied her from visiting him in hospital after a polo accident in 1990, yet he did allow another visiter, his now-wife, Camilla Parker Bowles.
โDiana confessed to me โฆ with absolute determination, that this was the last straw. Her compassion was wasted on her husband โฆ what the prince didnโt want, the public did,โ writes Wharfe.
A story which the Princeโs former Press Officer Dickie Arbiter also recounted in his own memoir from 2014.
โMeanwhile, what was potentially a much bigger news story was unfolding. HRH had a visitor โ a Mrs Camilla Parker Bowles. Where she had sprung from I had no idea, but Charles was clearly pleased to see her,โ he writes.
โThough he was still woozy from the anaesthetic, he was less agitated in her company. She didnโt stay long โ just long enough to make sure he was comfortable and to assure him that she was close by if needed.โ
โIt was my first real glimpse into the grim reality of the Walesโs marital situationโฆ When the Prince left hospital, he and Diana put on an impressive display of unity, but in reality they were anything but. I sensed difficult times lay ahead.โ

First of all, the can is more narrow โ which means smaller chips, and less easy access.
Secondly, theyโve changed the original flavour โ the recipe has changed to โimproveโ the quality of the chip, but instead theyโve gone and done the opposite.
And thirdly, despite all this, theyโve actually RAISED the price per chip!
As you can imagine, people are not happy. And theyโve taken to social media to share their heartbreaking experiences with the new Pringles.
Have they learned nothing from Arnotts, who messed with the original Shapes recipe?? Or when they ruined childhoods by closing the holes in Vita-Weat biscuits?
The lesson we can take from this โ NEVER mess with perfection. We can only cast our minds back to a better timeโฆ like this 80s Pringles ad with Brad Pitt.

Aussie actor Hugo Weaving has released a new video in conjunction with Sentis to help raise awareness around Autism. http://sentis.com/
Approximately one child in 100 is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum disorder (ASD), and one of those children is Hugoโs nephew Ky.
The video addresses the hardships that not only the children like Ky face, but also their loved ones.
Hugo recounts a story in which his sister, Nicole, was shamed by strangers for her โunrulyโ child when she took her son to the shopping centre.
โTo onlookers, Ky was just a badly behaved child having a tantrum. The hardest part for Kyโs mum wasnโt his behavior, but knowing people were judging his parenting,โ the actor says.
โSometimes, people would even tell her to control her child, and that she was doing it all wrong.โ
The campaign hopes to break the stigma around autism, and as Hugo says in the video hopes for more โawareness, understanding and friendshipโ.
At the campaignโs launch event this morning, Hugh joined Ky and Nicole onstage to speak about their experience and what they hoped to achieve by making the video.
โThe reason I got involved was because of family connections,โ said the actor. โItโs always wonderful for me to come and spend time with the family so to be involved with something which is to do with family and also which is of great benefit to not only to Ky but anyone living with autism and families dealing with the issues that goes with it is wonderful and something that was very easy to say yes to.โ
At the event the QLD health minister has announced plans to recommended that the film be shown in schools across Queensland.

A man explained to police that he stabbed his wife 56 times in a carpark with a pair of scissors because โshe did not obey the law of marriageโ.
The Sydney Morning Herald reportsMokhtar Hosseiniamraei stabbed his estranged wife, Leila Alavi, in her heart and in her neck, and he explained that he killed her because she left him.
โBecause we were married and before divorce she broke the contract. I could not tolerate it. I could not forget it.
โWe have commitment, moral commitment towards one another. In this country this means nothing.โ
The interview was heard at his sentencing hearing on Thursday, and he had threatened to kill her three months before he murdered her.
He called her saying, โYou are a slut, Iโm going to kill you and Iโm going to fix up your sister and friends who have been teaching you this.โ
She took out an apprehended violence order against him and moved in with her sister, Mitra Avali. Her sister revealed that Leila had experienced domestic violence.
โEight months before she died she come to my place and told me, โI canโt live with Mokhtar because he is punching me and it is scaryโ,โ Mitra said.
Mokhtar had threatened to kill Leila the day before she died, and she had told her friends at the hairdressing salon she worked at.
She was last seen the next day, walking outside to talk to him after he had announced he was outside. She was stabbed 22 times in the head and neck, 27 times in the legs and torso and seven times in the shoulder and arms.
Mokhtar Hosseiniamraei pleaded guilty to murder earlier this year, and will be sentenced next Thursday.

The photographer who took the photo of a little five-year-old boy from Syria that went viral and broke peopleโs hearts around the world has revealed the story of what happened when it was taken.
Mahmoud Rislan is a war photographer. He has seen many attacks like this one and says that every time, he cries.
This time, the attack was just 300 metres from his home, and he saw the โWhite Helmetsโ, a group of people who have taken it upon themselves to rescue civilians, pick up a bunch of children like the little boy.
He was filming the little boy, called Omran, and was so taken that he decided to take a still picture.
โThe tears started to drop as I took the photo,โ he wrote. โIt is not the first time Iโve cried. I have cried many times while filming traumatised children. I always cry. We war photographers always cry. Last night everyone cried.
โOmranโs affected me because he was silent. He didnโt cry. He didnโt say a word. He was shocked.โ
He thought of his own child, a seven-day-old baby girl. Omranโs sister turned to him and asked him to stop filming, to which he said โSure my darling, I will not.โ
Luckily, all of Omranโs family are safe and alive. However his mother has bad leg injuries, his dad suffered a minor head injury, and his seven-year-old sister has undergone an operation.
Rislan left his readers with one final thought.
โIf people knew what it was like maybe the war will stop the bombing will stop.
Maybe Omran and my daughter Amal can live normally like all children in the world.โ

Keira Maguire, otherwise known as the โproducerโs choiceโ on The Bachelor this season, made a shock exit from the show last night, after Richie asked her to leave.
After a disastrous date with Richie, where they did yoga together and Keira took over from the instructor because she thought she was better at it, Richie decided to sit her down and have a frank chat with her about their future.
โWhat Iโm thinking about isโฆare we a good match? Iโm a bit unsure if we are compatible,โ he said. โI really feel that weโre both on two different paths. Weโre two different people.โ
At this point, Richie proved what a brave (and perhaps stupid) man he really is, because he decided to continue, even after being given this look:
He delivered the final blow: โI donโt feel like there is a future with us. Yeah, I just donโt feel like there is a relationship here that we can, I guess, grow on.โ
She took this surprisingly well, but she wasnโt about to let her ego be hurt. She thanked him for his honesty, but as he was directing her to the car to leave, she delivered this very Keira line:
โIโm quite intuitive, so I knew.โ
We will miss you and your brilliant self-assuredness, Keira. Farewell.

Upon discovering photographer Omar Z. Roblesโs Instagram page youโll quickly find yourself lost in his stream of stunning portraits of ballerinas displaying their incredible abilities. The beauty of their movement juxtaposed with the gritty urban setting.
The photos, taken on the streets of New York City, include both men and women from the American Ballet Theatre, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Ballet Concierto De Puerto Rico, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, and the Ballet Nacional de Cuba.
Robles has emassed an impressive 200,000 followers and counting and tells the Huffington Post that his vision is to โbreak the norm of the everyday. To shatter the monotony of our way of life and portray a world where we could move without the stiff rules of etiquette. To capture the idea of weightlessness, or hovering around town.โ
โBallet dancers make us feel as if their movements were truly effortless,โ he adds. โThis while pushing their bodies to the very extreme of what is humanly possible. It is that grace and elegance which mesmerizes us.โ

An Adelaide mother has admitted that she crashed a car while on drugs, which killed her four-year-old daughter.
Channel 9 News reports that Kylie Anne Hie had just attended a funeral at Mount Gambier with her daughter Charlotte May-Grace, and was found with methamphetamine in her system when she crashed the car. The collision occurred when Hie was trying to overtake a 40-tonne truck carrying timber in a tiny gap around a bend.
Her daughter died and Hie suffered serious injuries from the crash.
The prosecutor in court, Carmen Matteo, said that the drugs she was taking would have increased her risk-taking and made her more paranoid and irrational.
While previously Hie had denied the allegations made against her, she has now pleaded guilty to her charge of aggravated death by dangerous driving.

It is a photo that encapsulates the horror of Syriaโs civil war.
A five-year-old boy, plastered in dust and blood, sitting motionless and mute in the back of an ambulance. Blinking back shock โ and in a gesture that will be familiar to anyone who has children โ he reaches up to rub his eyes, before realising with panic that his face is covered in blood.
The boy doesnโt make a sound. His mother is nowhere to be seen. And soon he is joined by two other bleeding, dirty children, including one toddler who looks frozen with shock and terror. The video rolls on, and no one comes to comfort them and cuddle them, and you realise: itโs unlikely their parents will ever cuddle them again.
Like me, you may have skimmed the headlines about airstrikes in Aleppo, the largest city in Syria, in the past few days. Maybe you noticed that several hospitals had been attacked. But perhaps you didnโt. After all, the war in Syria has been raging now for five long years, and the headlines and reports and pictures of bomb-ravaged streets and blown-out buildings are beginning to blur. Hundreds of thousands have died, including thousands of children. Millions have been displaced โ forced over the border to surrounding countries like Jordan and Turkey. One in three children in Syria has never known peacetime.
The medics in the video are known as The White Helmets โ they have just been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. According to veteran news journalist Janine diGiovanni, The White Helmets (or Syrian Civil Defence) are โsuperheroesโ. โWhen they realised no one was coming to save Syria, they took it upon themselves to save their own people,โ she recently wrote. โHeroโ is a corny word but they are truly superheroes.โ You can watch them in action in this video, below:
The boy in the video is five-year-old Omran Daqneesh, who was taken to a hospital in the city and later discharged.
He fared better than another child who was killed in that same airstrike on Tuesday. Or the babies who had to be removed from their incubators earlier this week after airstrikes attacked the hospital they were in.
This is the face of the civil war. This is the face of asylum seekers.
HEREโS HOW YOU CAN HELP:
UNHCR works to keep refugees safe, providing them with shelter, sleeping mats, blankets, food, medical care and access to education. You can visit UNHCR and donate.
Save the children is also assisting Syrian families with basic supplies. You can donated here.
If you want to support refugee settlement in Australia, share this story with the hashtag #BringThemHere

A woman in the UK has been found guilty of the โsavage and demonicโ murder of her former loverโs new girlfriend after she paralysed her with a stun gun before stabbing her 40 times.
Sarah Williams, who was described in court as a โjealous and obsessive bunny-boilerโ, planned the murder for 18 months with the help of her friend, Katrina Walsh, who was also found guilty of murder.
Williams was overcome with jealousy after her lover, Ian Johnston, ended things with her and started seeing new girlfriend, Sadie Hartley (pictured above).
Two women found guilty of murdering businesswoman Sadie Hartley in Lancashire in January https://t.co/iixHSsUqOn
Hartley was killed at her home in Helmshore, Lacashire in January this year after she opened the door to find Williams there with a 500,000-vault stun gun, reports The Independent.
She was paralysed in the hallway of her home as Williams preceded to stabbed her with โdemonic savageryโ before being left in a pool of blood.
โSarah Williams, over a period of about eighteen months you plotted the murder of a woman whose only crime was to love the man you wanted for yourself, โ said Justice Turner, according to The Telegraph.
โBut let no one make the mistake of thinking that this was a crime of passion. It was a crime of obsession, of arrogance, of barbarity but, above all, it was a crime of pure evil. You Walsh, are every bit as morally degenerate as Williams. No wonder you have been the best of friends over so many years.โ
Williams and Walsh have both been sentenced to life in prison and will serve a minimum of 25 and 30 years respectively.

David Schwimmer became a household name for playing the role of Ross on the hit show Friends, but he has opened up in an interview about the downside to his acting success.
Though he was earning $1 million an episode, the actor told The Hollywood Reporterthat becoming an overnight celebrity at the age of 27 wasnโt as positive an experience as you might expect.
โIt was pretty jarring and it messed with my relationship to other people in a way that took years, I think, for me to adjust to and become comfortable with,โ he said.
He also spoke about the transition of how he interacted with the world.
โAs an actor, the way I was trained, my job was to observe life and to observe other people, so I used to walk around with my head up, really engaged and watching people,โ he said.
โThe effect of celebrity was the absolute opposite: it made me want to hide under a baseball cap and not be seen. I realised that after a while I was no longer watching people; I was trying to hide.โ
He was also offered what could have been a ground-breaking role โ Agent J in Men In Black (which was played by Will Smith). However, he had to turn it down as he was directing a movie at the time, a decision he says was never really a choice for him.
โAbout a month before production, I get the call about Men in Black, which was a direct conflict with directing that film,โ he said. โAnd I just said, โI canโtโ. These are my closest friends in the world โ this is their first shot at a movie, my first shot at directing. It wasnโt even like a choice.โ
However he did make the return to TV recently as Rob Kardashian in The People v. O.J. Simpson. The show has received 22 Emmy nominations, just one less than Game of Thrones.

Police have rescued a four-year-old child who was being abused by her mum and her mumโs boyfriend and found tied to furniture. When they asked what the girlโs name was, she reportedly replied โidiotโ.
The girl was found with clear evidence of abuse, with bruising on her bottom, a swollen cheek, black eye, scars across her back, chaffed skin on her wrists and was underfed. The Sentinel-Record reports that she has now been taken into state custody, and the mother, Jennifer Denen, and boyfriend, Clarence Reed, have been arrested and charged for first-degree domestic battery.
When interviewed, Denen said that she had seen Reed beat the daughter with a plastic bat. She admitted that she did not seek medical attention for the four-year-oldโs wounds.
Clarence Reed
Reed has admitted to hitting her with a wooden paddle, but not a plastic bat. He also admitted to tying her up with zip ties to furniture in the kitchen.
He also regularly referred to the child as โidiotโ, however he has claimed that this was simple a โjokeโ.
They are currently being held on US$500,000 bond, and will appear in court on August 23.

Almost 20 years after JonBenet Ramsay was found murdered in her home, a new documentary series is being released in which investigators revisit the case in the hopes of solving it once and for all.
Titiled The Case of JonBenรฉt Ramsey, the CBS series will focus largely on the 911 call mother Patsy made to police on the day she died.
JonBenรฉt was found murdered in her basement on December 26, 1996.
The operator who took the call was never questioned by authorities.
โTwenty years, nobody asked me,โ the operator tearfully explains in the clip, which debuted Tuesday. โI think it would have really turned the case around.โ
The trailer shows the investigators analyzing the phone call and reducing noise to hear a conversation the happened when the mother thought the call had disconnected.
Parents John and Patsy remained suspects in their daughterโs death until 2008, when police finally cleared their names. Sadly, Patsy had already been dead for two years after her battle with cancer.
JonBenetโs lder brother Ramsey is also set to appear in an upcoming special with Dr. Phil, speaking publicly for the first time.

While we all knew it was coming, Megan Marxโs shock exit from last nightโs rose ceremony was none the less shocking.
One of the seasonโs strongest contenders for Richieโs affection, Marx says she became increasingly uncomfortable in the competitive environment.
โIt was honestly me realising I wouldnโt be able to find love in an environment like that,โ the 27-year-old told News Corp.
โThere were cameras everywhere all the time, it was full on. I was fairly able to be myself, but that just wasnโt enough for me to fall in love.โ
โIf anyone told you itโs not weird to be in that situation, theyโve got to be lying,โ Marx added to SMH. โIโm not a very dramatic, competitive type of person, I just sort of go with the flow and in that environment it was quite difficult.โ
The shock exit came after a dramatic episode which saw three new โintrudersโ join the show and the episode ended with a heated argument between two if the original bachelorettes.
โWatching it is very different to having experienced it in the flesh,โ she said. โI think to fall in love with somebody you have to genuinely know them inside and out and, you know, Iโm not suggesting other girls on the show couldnโt do that โ Iโm sure some of them could โ but for me, I wasnโt thinking about Richie, I was thinking โoh my gosh, all this dramaโ.โ

When you picture a scientist, chances are you imagine a wild-eyed, bespectacled man in a white lab coat. A little like Einstein. Or Christopher Lloyd from Back To The Future.
Which is why you need to see Hidden Figures. (Weโre canโt wait.) Hidden Figures tells the story of the group of black women โ so far MIA from the history books โ who helped provide NASA win the Space Race.
Forget Neil Armstrong. Step aside George Clooney and Gravity. Hidden Figures focuses on Katherine Johnson, Mary Jackson, Dorothy Vaughan and multitude other black female physicists, mathematicians and โhuman computersโ who calculated rocket trajectories and helped put US astronauts in space.
Itโs gutsy, romantic and all-out feminist. But watch the trailer and see for yourself:
The film stars Octavia Spencer and Kirsten Dunst โ and Spencer was reportedly so blown away by the script that at first she couldnโt believe it was a true story.
The film is based on a book written by Margot Lee Shetterly, whose father was a NASA scientist.

โFor me, growing up in Hampton, Virginia, the face of science was brown like mine. My dad was a NASA lifer, a career Langley Research Center scientist who became an internationally respected climate expert,โ she said. โAs a childโฆ I knew so many African-Americans working in science, math and engineering that I thought thatโs just what black folks did.โ

Sauvage, 68, was convicted of murdering her husband in December 2014. The crime in question happened in September 2012, when Sauvage took her husbandโs rifle and shot him three times in the back. She was sentenced to ten years in prison for the crime.
Sauvage alleged throughout the lengthy trial that her husband Norbert Marot had violently abused her for a period of 50 years. She also alleged that he had raped and beaten their three daughters and abused their son, the Independent reports.
After her sentencing caused public outcry, a viral petition gained some 400,000 signatures campaigning for her release. Politicians from both side of French parliament pressed for President Francoise Hollande to overturn the decision. The campaign received a further boost when President Hollandeโs first wife, journalist Valรฉrie Trierweiler, added her voice to the numbers calling upon the President to grant Sauvage an official pardon.
And in January this year thatโs exactly what President Hollande did, waiving the remainder of Sauvageโs 10 year sentence. โIn the face of an exceptional human situation, the president wanted to make it possible for Madame Savage to quickly return to her family while respecting judicial authorities,โ a spokesperson for the President said at the time.
But the Melun court system has refused to grant bail to Sauvage this week, arguing that the decision to release her would frame her as a victim โgiven the support around her and the media coverage,โ AP reports.
Both the lawyers for the defence and prosecution have expressed outrage at this decision, with Sauvageโs legal team (above) in particular telling reporters that they were โin shockโ.
The prosecution legal team will appeal the decision.

The fate of the 854 men currently being held in the detention centre remains unclear, as does the time frame for the facilityโs closure.
In a statement Prime Minister OโNeill said โBoth Papua New Guinea and Australia are in agreement that the centre is to be closed.โ
In April the PNG Supreme Court ruled that detention centre was โillegal and unconstitutionalโ.

Candice Swanepoel has been keeping fans up-to-date with every step of her pregnancy, and so thankfully that included an inside look at her adorable baby shower.
The event had a safari theme, no doubt a nod to her South African heritage, and there were toy animals including giraffes and lions, and a sweet tray loaded up with animal cupcakes, cookies and cake.
What the photos from the baby shower also revealed however, is the name the Victoriaโs Secret model has chosen for her son.
The 27-year-old model, who is pregnant with her first child with fiancรฉ, Brazilian model, Hermann Nicoli, revealed back in May that she is expecting a boy.
Taking to Instagram to announce the news, with a beautiful black and white bump shot, the model wrote: โMy Not so little boyโ.
Candice is believed to be due either late August or September.

If youโve seen the trailers for The Shallows, then you know three things about the film already. First, its SCARY. Secondly, Blake Lively spends most of the film wearing little more than a string bikini, and third, she looks incredible โ something thatโs even more impressive (or, possibly, depressing) given that she gave birth just eight months before shooting began.
But the actress has been refreshingly honest about her preparation for the film, which involved a strict fitness and eating regimen.
Her fitness routine involved swimming laps for half an hour at a time, as well as weights, kettle bells and interval training. The actress also revealed that that she cut out all processed food. โI did no gluten and no soy,โ she said on Australiaโs Kyle and Jackie O Show. โOnce you remove soy, you realise youโre eating no processed foods. So thatโs basically what I did. No processed foods and then working out.โ
โ[It] seems like, โOh, thatโs really easy to cut that out,โ but then you realise, thereโs soy in everything,โ she said. โLike, everything you eat, thereโs soy in it. Even if itโs healthy, Whole Foods organic stuff, thereโs always soy in it.โ
โJust try no soy and no gluten and watch how hard that is,โ Lively added, before admitting that she had to give the fresh baked goods delivered to The Shallows set every day a wide berth.
โThat was the hardest part,โ she said. โThey were making these fresh muffins every morningโthose jack*sses. They smelled so good!โ
Given that the actress is pregnant with her second child, we hope sheโs managed to squeeze in a few muffins.

The daughter of Jude Law and Sadie Frost โ who made headlines when she accidentally swallowed an ecstasy tablet at Londonโs Soho House at just two years old โ is all grown up.
This month it was announced the beautiful teenager will be the new face of Miu Miuโs 2017 Resort campaign.
The rising star has a keen interested in fashion. Reflecting on her personal style, Iris recently revealed that sheโs always taken inspiration from her mother: โI like looking at pictures of my mom when she was around my age and seeing her makeup and little dressesโฆI was always really interested in what she was wearing growing upโ.
Taken from Iris Lawโs instagram, the rising star is pictured here grinning at the camera. (Credit: Instagram)
Oh, and did we mention that sheโs Kate Mossโ goddaughter?

Despite her recent modelling success, Frost is also keen to pursue her love of photography and painting. As is clear from her dreamy, ethereal Instagram shots, the young model takes after her creative parents: โIโll shoot someone, usually a friend, and then Iโll base a very intricate oil painting off of that photoโ.
Iris posted this candid shot of her youthful parents from way back to her Instagram in celebration of fathers day (which also happens to be Sadie Frosts birthday)! (Credit: Instagram)
And THAT ecstasy tablet? In an interview with The Daily Mail, Lawโs mother Sadie Frost later explained that the incident happened during a childrenโs birthday party at Soho House (a notorious โ90s party spot). She recalled that Iris was โsitting at one of the tables, playing, when my best friend, Zoe, spotted Iris spitting something out of her mouth. I could have ignored it, but thankfully my instinct told me to go straight over and take a closer look. On the end of her tongue was a small grey tablet with a line through it. It had partially dissolved in her mouth but there was enough left for me to grab it.โ
The toddler was immediately taken to hospital, where Iris was given charcoal to absorb the pill. She suffered no ill effects.

A 19-year-old woman who suffered a brutal acid attack from her brother-and-law is set to walk the runway in New York City for Fashion Week.
Indian-born Reshma Banoo Qureshi was attacked when she was 17, disfiguring her face and even causing her to lose an eye.
The Huffington Postreports she is currently working with Make Love Not Scars to help acid attack victims recover and regain their confidence and dignity.
One of the show organisers, Ilaria Niccolini said in a statement that she was delighted to discover the organisation.
โWe want to give voice to these amazing women, who have been silently suffering, hiding, and too often depriving themselves of the opportunity to declare how beastly, and cruelly they have been attacked.โ
And Reshma, who has never been out of India, was moved to tears when she found out sheโd be walking the runway.
She told the Hindustan Times, โToday I realise that beauty is not just about how we look in the mirror, itโs more important to have a beautiful heart.โ
Make Love Not Scars gained traction on social media for their #EndAcidSale, calling attention to how available and cheap acid is to buy in India, and hope to cause some much-needed change.

Amy Schumerโs highly anticipated memoir, โGirl With The Lower Back Tattooโ has finally been released and the comedian has delivered plenty of never-before-known facts about the star.
While not pegged as an autobiography, but rather a collection of essays from her life as a โdaughter, sister, friend, comedian, actor, girlfriend, one night stand, employee, employer, lover, fighter, hater, pasta eater and wine drinker.โ
Here are some of the most interesting things we learned from the book:
1. She was in an abusive relationship
It proceeded to get worse and worse, and I started escaping the apartment whenever I could. Iโd go to Starbucks, lock myself in the bathroom, and sit on the floor and cry. I knew I should go back to the East Coast, but I thought no one would ever love me as much as he did. I believed he was just as passionate about me as I was about him, and that if I did a better job of not making him mad, weโd be fine. I really felt he loved me. And I really loved him.
I think somewhere in the course of our relationship, I started to confuse his anger and aggression for passion and love. I actually started to think that real love was supposed to look like that. The more you yelled at each other, the more you loved each other. The more physical and demeaning it got, the more you were really getting through to each other. And the more I was willing to stand by him, the more heโd understand I truly loved him and that we should be together forever.
One day she says โhe grabbed a huge butcher knife from a drawer. And thatโs when I was sure he was going to kill me.โ
While she managed to get out of the relationship, she wants other women to know, โIt can happen to anyoneโ.
โIโm telling this story because Iโm a strong-ass woman, not someone most people picture when they think โabused womanโฆ Youโre not alone if itโs happening to you, and youโre not exempt if it hasnโt happened to you yet.โ
2. Her mother left her father for her best friendโs father
Amy explained that one day she came home to find her mother extremely distraught, before telling her she had fallen in love with Amyโs best friendโs father.
Because she couldnโt communicate vocally, she had to sign it to me. Since she is a teacher of the deaf, we all know a good amount of sign language in my family. Slowly, her hands trembling, she rose and signed to me, โI am leaving your father. Lou and I have fallen in love with each other.โ I signed the world, โagainโ because I needed her to repeat herself. Again she signed, โI am leaving your father. Lou and I have fallen in love with each other.โ
3. One of her best sexual encounters was a one-night stand
Schumer revealed she has slept with 28 men, and one of the best nights of her life was actually a one-night stand with a guy she met on a flight to Tampa, Florida.
โAll the blood rushed to my vagina. I never ever talk to people on airplanes but I turned right to him. โHi, Iโm Amy.โ He smiled, revealing a tiny gap between his front teeth. I love a gap more than anything on a man. โHi, Iโm Sam,โ he said, in an English accent.โ
The pair then met up later that night after Amyโs show, and she says there was โno questionโ what they were there to do.
โWe both had the same goal in mind: to devour each other. Ewwwwww, I know, sorry. But itโs true. It felt incredible to have this heavenly being take me in his arms and make me feel both wanted and beautiful. The sex was perfect. He was perfect. We were both in ecstasyโฆ We were both very giving. When we were finally finished, I said it was such a pleasure meeting him and wished him good luck in all his endeavors. He couldnโt believe I didnโt want him to stay. He couldnโt believe it so much that he stayed and we had sex at least three more times. We kissed goodbye when the sun had risen and I went to sleep with the biggest smile on my face, thinking, Thank you.
4. She met boyfriend Ben Hanisch on a dating app
Amy was introduced to a new dating app speciaifally for creative people (which she doesnโt name but some are suggesting is Raya) by friend and Trainwreck costar Vanessa Bayer. She liked a few men on there, one of whom was Ben Hanish.
โWe sent each other very simple hellos and short, funny messages,โ she writes. The pair decided to meet up a few weeks later A few weeks later, the two met for the first time. โWe smiled at each other and in that moment, everything felt right,โ she writes.
5. She has a criminal past
A teenage Amy and her sister Kim were arrested for stealing Bloomingdaleโs. The took a number of items including a leather fedora, Seven jeans, a tank top with a bejeweled dollar sign, and a leopard-print onesie.
โNow that Iโm all grown up and no longer driving up the price of bad tchotchkes in Old Sacramento, Iโve graduated on to the next-level hustle โ making people laugh,โ she writes.

A stalker strangled a bride-to-be, bound her mouth with tape, and set her North Carolina apartment on fire, all while her fiancรฉ was at his bucks party.
27-year-old Amanda Strous was found in the house on June 18 wearing only her bikini bottoms. She was rushed to hospital with burn injuries and blunt force injuries, however she died when she arrived at the hospital.
CBS reports that 28-year-old Matthew Thomas Benner has been charged with first-degree arson and murder for the crime, and he confessed two days after Strous died.

It does not appear that Benner and Strous knew each other, and authorities believe that he was stalking her.
Strousโ fiancรฉ, Cory McCleaf, was devastated by the murder. The pair were due to be married on July 30.
โShe lit up a room when she walked in. Her smile was just one of those things that people had to be with. When she smiled they smiled,โ He told WSOCTV.com.
โShe was the light of my world. She was one of the most positive people Iโve ever been around.โ

Ever since she burst into our stream of consciousness all those years ago, Kim Kardashian has been known for her womanly curves and has faced constant speculation over the, shall we say, legitimacy, of some of these said curves.
Recently a photo of the star from 2007 surfaced showing what appears to be a dent in her behind, that suggests she has had injections.
Well the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star took to her website to clear up any questions people might have, revealing she actually gets regular cortisone injections in her rear to treat her psoriasis.
โI went to go get a cortisone shot in my butt. I lived right behind Kitson [the boutique in Los Angeles]. One of my neighbours was a dermatologist at Cedars,โ she said during a live stream on her site. โI go in there and heโs like, โThereโs a one in a billion chance that you will get a huge indent in your butt.โ Of course I get a huge indent on my butt.โ
Addressing the pictures of her โindentโ, Kim says thatโs when the implant rumours started.
The mother-of-two says she gets the injections every few years, and just had another one recently.
โEvery few years I get a cortisone shot. And itโs so funny. I just got one as my psoriasis was so bad in Vegas. Thatโs a little unknown fact of me โ I have to get cortisone shots every few years.โ
So there you have it, mystery solved.
Meanwhile, the 35-year-old has also revealed a surprising new โdo on Instagram this week, trading in her short locks for Rapunzel-esk long locks.

As we try to come to terms with their break up, Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson have gone and stepped out together โ giving us fresh hope of a reunion.
The former couple were pictured walking together in Los Angeles, with the 38-year-old actor holding what appears to be a bottle of wine.
The couple, who had been together for 10 years together, confirmed their split back in July following increasing speculation after they hadnโt been spotted together in months.
โDiane Kruger and Josh Jackson have decided to separate and remain friends,โ a rep for both stars told Us Weekly at the time.
So we know they could very well just be catching up as friends, but we canโt help but hope just a little bitโฆ

Rebecca Maher, an Aboriginal woman, has died in a police holding cell in the northern N.S.W. town of Maitland. The 36-year-old is the first indigenous person to die in custody for sixteen years in the state.
Ms Maher, a mother-of-four, was taken to Maitland police station on July 19 just after midnight. When officers checked on her at 6a.m. she was dead, The Sydney Morning Herald reports. Her family says they were only notified about her death hours later at 12.30p.m. on that day.
Questions remain about Ms Maherโs detention. A statement from N.S.W. Police says they โlocated and detained a 36-year-old woman who was walking along Wollumbi Road, Cessnock, and appeared intoxicated. Police had concerns for her welfare and conveyed her to Maitland Police Station.โ
A statement from Ms Maherโs family, read out at a rally earlier this month in Cessnock, said: โWithout being charged with any crime, Rebecca was taken into police custody as she walked down a street in the NSW rural town of Cessnock. Police allege that she was intoxicated, but have given her family no other reason as to why Rebecca was detained. Very little information has been given to Rebeccaโs family about the circumstances of her death.โ
Police are currently appealing for witnesses and a Critical Incident Team is investigating the incident.

News program 60 Minutes has released another exclusive clip leading up to their interview with Roxy Jacenko this weekend about her struggle with breast cancer.
The Sydney publicist has faced speculation that the timing of her breast cancer diagnosis was โconvenientโ after her husband Oliver Curtis was sentenced to jail for insider trading.
Roxy Jacenko was diagnosed with breast cancer in July, after finding a lump in her left breast. The program will provide an up-close look at her battle with the disease, even taking viewers into the operating theatre.

Chinese swimmer Fu Yuanhui grabbed the mediaโs attention a couple of weeks ago when she didnโt realise that sheโd won a Bronze medal in the 100m backstroke event. But now sheโs won our hearts again by frankly talking about her period post-race and breaking taboo.
She competed in the 4ร100 medley relay event, and felt that she had let down her team for not performing her best. She told state broadcaster CCTV about the race.
โI donโt think I performed very well today. I feel I let my teammates down,โ she said. โItโs because my period came yesterday, so I felt particularly tired โ but this isnโt an excuse, I still didnโt swim well enough.โ
She baffled some Chinese fans by her comments as periods are relatively unspoken about there, and only 2% of Chinese women use tampons, according to a recent study. She was even accused of lying because some members of the Chinese public didnโt understand how sheโd gone in the water on her period.
โSomeone accused Fu of lying, asking how she could have gone in the water on her period. Chinese people have prejudices about tampons โ as a woman over 30, Iโd been ignorant, and full of fear, about tampons until now too.โ said one Weibo user.
However others took to Weibo (the Chinese version of Twitter) to praise her honest comments.
โI really admire Fu Yuanhui for swimming while she was on her period โ women can be affected during their periods, especially with period painโ said one user.
Another fan wrote: โIt is a normal physiological phenomenon, so why canโt we mention it? Fu Yuanhui is awesome!โ

Johnny Depp and Amber Heardโs divorce has been settled after three long months since they filed for divorce, and the couple have released a joint statement about the settlement.
TMZ reports that Depp paid Heard $7 million, and Heard has called off her restraining order with prejudice โ so she canโt file it again.
โOur relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love. Neither party has made false accusations for financial gains. There was never an intent of physical or emotional harm. Amber wishes the best for Johnny in the future. Amber will be donating financial proceeds from the divorce to a charity.โ
Amber Heard has dismissed her domestic violence charges with prejudice, so can also never file these again. Now that the case is over, hopefully both of them will find peace.

Pakistani hospital staff have been arrested over a โbaby-sellingโ ring snatched newborns from maternity wards.
According to the BBC, a gang swapped newborn babies with the bodies of dead infants in hospitals and then told the parents the child had died.
Nine babies were abducted and sold. Some new mothers were told within hours of giving birth that their child had died.
Five woman and two men, including a nurse and two health workers, were arrested according to the BBC. One baby girl was rescued.
According to the NPR, baby snatching is โfairly commonโ in Pakistan. In a report on the subject last year, the US broadcaster said that the main reasons that gangs abducted children included wanting to use tiny children to beg on the streets, disputes over inheritance, and to sell the infants to childless couples.

Urban Decay practically invented the nude eyeshadow palette. OK, not really, but they have taken to to new levels of obsession with their Naked series of ultra-wearable, ultra-covetable palettes, and every time UD announces theyโre launching a new version, the beauty world goes into a tizz.
And we mean a serious tizz. In 2014, Urban Decay sold more than 5 million Naked palettes โ thatโs more than the population of New Zealand โ and last year in the UK, 20,000 people joined a waiting list to buy it.
Well, strap in because itโs happening again: Come September, UD is launching the Naked Ultimate Basics Palette.
(Credit: Supplied)
It consists of 12 matte colours, ranging from warm to cool, that were created based on emails and social media feedback asking for more shade options and more matte (and if matte makes you nervous, never fear โ thereโs a semi-matte colour in there for highlighting).
And, because packaging is everything, thereโs a fancy new gold compact, too.
Thereโs a countdown calendar on the UD website, so mark your diaries and get excited.

A former resident of the South Island Christian community has penned a passionate opinion piece slamming a recent documentary television series for its โirresponsibly softโ take on the group
A new documentary was supposed to provide a fly-on-the-wall window onto Gloriavale, New Zealandโs most renowned religious community.
Gloriavale: A Womanโs Touch aired on New Zealandโs TV2 last month, debuting with some of the highest ratings that year in New Zealand television. The documentary was the third installment in a series based around the 540-strong community on the west coast of New Zealandโs South Island, filmed with a budget of close to half a million dollars.
The third Gloriavale series followed couple Dove Love and Watchful Steadfast, teenagers promised in marriage by their parents (as is the custom in Gloriavale) prepare for their life together by going on chaperoned dates where neither party involved in any physical intimacy (including touching). Before their marriage ceremony in the series finale โ where, as custom dictates, the couple consummated their marriage during a break in proceedings โ Steadfast admitted on camera what attracted him to his betrothed. โSheโs willing to submit to me, which I feel is very important for a marriage to last,โ he said. Romantic stuff.
Love even recorded a song to honour her courtship with Steadfast, the release of which went viral on Twitter in New Zealand.
The series also sparked a run on Gloriavale costumes at fancy dress parties (residents only wear blue, and bonnets for women are mandatory) and a Gloriavale-name generator on social media.
But a former Gloriavale resident who fled the community with her siblings and parents in her teens has slammed the production for being โirresponsibly softโ on the group and its questionable history, penning a passionate op-ed piece for New Zealand website The Pantograph Punch.
โFor the casual viewer, thereโs no denying that the subject matter is fascinating, and at times comical โ but the way Gloriavale is being presented for our consumption now is exploitative and negligent,โ former community resident Melissa Harrison wrote.
โAs a piece of television, its makers are satisfied to deliver us our LOLs in a steady stream of sound bites and sight gags, and it satisfies our voyeuristic longings for the strange; all with no critical engagement, no history, no varied perspectives. Critical engagement probably isnโt as fun.โ
Harrison is speaking specifically about the allegations of sexual abuse levelled at Gloriavaleโs founder Neville Cooper, her grandfather. Sheโs also speaking about the psychological pain her parents endured โ being cut off from their family, friends and community for life โ after leaving the group and the misogyny of the division of labour (women are tasked with cooking, cleaning and caring for the children, men to the building) in Gloriavale.
Dove Love in a still from Gloriavale: A Womanโs Place
โThere can be no reasonable doubt that these people โ the women in particular โ are subjugated. Sentiments that suggest otherwise are naรฏve,โ Harrison wrote.
โItโs not fictional. They are real lives, and theyโre not all that funny โฆ letโs not mindlessly and uncritically gather around our TV screens for a chuckle at Gloriavale as pop-culture phenomenon.โ
Amanda Evans, the documentaryโs producer and director, hit back with an op-ed of her own in the New Zealand Herald.
โI am fascinated that women like Doveโฆ can live so happily and find deep satisfaction in their lives, given the obvious restrictions. This is what the story is about โ how do they make sense of the world and make the most of it?โ
Evans also refutes Harrisonโs allegations that the documentary is โirresponsibly softโ, providing no context to the charges of sexual abuse and poking fun at the expense of the community.
โI fully acknowledge that one man has served prison time for an offence committed 30 years ago,โ she wrote. โHowever I believe a living, dynamic community of 540 peopleโฆ shouldnโt be forever defined by that event.โ

An Irish coupleโs baby has passed away from contracting the cold sore virus, just 12 days after she was born.
Though she did not initially display any symptoms and still had a healthy appetite, her parents were horrified to witness her colour suddenly change as she went limp. When she was rushed to the hospital, she was pronounced dead.
The New Zealand Herald reports Eibhlin Wills was struck by a particularly devastating version of the Herpes Simplex Virus known as Disseminated Neonatal Herpes Simplex Virus 1. Usually, 90 per cent of these infections in babies come from the mother, however when her mother was tested she did not come up positive.
It was later discovered that she had contracted the virus from the hospital.
According to information approved by the Baby Centre Australia Medical Advisory Board, this is a very rare occurrence in a baby so young, as babies are usually immune to the herpes virus for the first six months from antibodies received from the mother. However babies can still be susceptible to contracting the virus from others by being kissed.
Eibhlinโs father has created a video telling the story from his perspective to help other parents prevent this from happening to their child.

Following his epic win over Juan Martin Del Potro to take out the menโs singles final and his second Olympic gold medal, Andy Murray was forced to remind John Inverdale that women play tennis too โ and that theyโre pretty good at it.
During his post-match interview, Inverdale congratulated Murray on being the first person to win two Olympic gold medals in the sport.
However Murray was quick to correct him: โVenus and Serena have won about four each.โ
His victory made him the first person to defend the singles title, and his response to this interviewer has made him our new feminist hero. And the internet agrees.
I like Andy Murray even more for pointing out that women are people too. I award him the gold medal for feminism in the men's events
Sadly this isnโt Inverdaleโs first sexist gaffe, in 2013 after Marion Bartoliโs Wimbledon victory, according to TIME he told Radio 5 listeners: โDo you think Bartoliโs dad told her when she was little โYouโre never going to be a looker? Youโll never be a [Maria] Sharapova, so you have to be scrappy and fight.โ
As for Andy Murray, he recently penned an article on his blog Lโรquipe, about being a feminist after he copped criticism for hiring former womenโs tennis champion Amรฉlie Mauresmo as his coach.
โWell, if being a feminist is about fighting so that a woman is treated like a man then yes, I suppose I have. My upbringing means that Iโm quite attuned to the whole thing. I came to tennis thanks to my mother. I always had a very close relationship with my grandmothers. Iโve always been surrounded by women. I find it easier to talk to them. I find it easier to open up to them. Itโs a crying shame there arenโt more female coaches.โ

Athleisure wear has invaded cafes, restaurants, shops, the movies and everywhere in between. Now, it would seem that all things lycra-y are set to encroach on the boardroom. ADAY, a New York-based athleisure wear company, is making waves with a line of pieces they say can take you from Crossfit to the corner office. That is, they make what are essentially โwork leggingsโ.
And, thousands of women are hungry to get their hands on the versatile duds. The labelโs Throw and Roll leggings (which come in black or royal blue) are so popular there is a 2,000-person waiting list. Such is the veracious appetite for the $US125 pants, they have already sold out four times, often within 24 hours.
So, just how versatile are they? ADAY co-founder Meg He says that on the same day one client wore her pair to run the New York marathon, another woman wore them to meet then Prime Minister of Great Britain David Cameron.
โWe were really trying to create garments that will literally work in any context,โ He toldFast Company. โItโs not limited to going from the gym to the office; we want women to be able to put them on in the morning and do anything throughout the day.โ
Hear that Hillary? Win the White House and you could be ruling the free world in these sexy leggings in a few months.

It was the story that held a nation captive for almost two decades. A baby snatched from a maternity ward only to be found 17 years later by a remarkable twist of fate. But the familyโs heart-rending nightmare wasnโt over yet.
Where is your baby?โ The ward sisterโs urgent question jolted Celeste Nurse out of her medicated slumber. It was April 30, 1997, two days since the 18-year-old had given birth to Zephany, a perfect baby girl with an eye-catching head of thick hair, at the Groote Schuur hospital in Cape Town, South Africa.
โThe sister asked again,โ recalls Celeste. โI insisted Zephany was in the cot next to me. Except, she wasnโt.โ Realisation dawned on her that something was terribly, terribly wrong; it felt like she was โbeing drenched with ice waterโ.
With nurses in tow, Celeste ran down the cold corridors of the enormous public hospital, oblivious to the pain from her emergency C-section.
โWe ran around looking for the child on every foor of the hospital. The baby was gone. Nowhere to be found. I thought it was a joke,โ explains Celeste. A few hours later, she phoned her husband, Morne, her voice as drained of life as the empty cot at her side. Expecting an update on his firstbornโs progress, Morne heard instead three incongruous words that would haunt the couple for almost two decades: โZephany is gone!โ
When he arrived at the hospital, Morne Nurse, then 19, curled up in the fetal position and sobbed. Recalls Celeste, โJust a few days before, he had said to me, โCeleste, be careful, there are people who steal kids.โ I thought, โThis is a hospital; it is safe. Who would steal a child?โโ As the hours unfolded, a picture began to emerge of a nightmarish scenario more suited to telemovies or pulp fiction.
โI was disorientated from the morphine, but I could remember lying on my side earlier and opening my eyes to see a woman holding the baby. I had assumed it was a nurse and had fallen back to sleep,โ says Celeste.
A patient, Shireen Piet โ who gave birth on the same day as Celeste โ later described a disturbing close-call with her own newborn the day Zephany vanished. While making a phone call at a booth in the hospital corridor, Piet spotted a โpregnantโ woman holding her baby. โPut my baby down!โ she called out in anger. When the South African Police Service arrived to take statements, Piet helped sketch an identikit of the alleged baby snatcher.
โI thought, โThis is a hospital; it is safe. Who would steal a child?'โ โ Zephanyโs mother
For Zephanyโs parents, whoโd met as kids and married a few months before their daughterโs birth, darkness had swallowed what was supposed to be a bright beginning to family life.
While morphine eased the young motherโs physical pain, there was no relief from her emotional wounds and the fact baby Zephany โ Hebrew for โthe Lord has hiddenโ โ was not coming home with them.
โWalking into a house prepped for a baby broke me. No-one other than my mother and Morneโs family had seen Zephany,โ Celeste, now 37, tells marie claire. โTheyโd visited the day she was born and took a few photos. For 17 years, they were the only images I had of my baby.โ
There were some breakthroughs. Zephanyโs tiny blanket and a pillow โ believed to have been used by the kidnapper to fake a pregnancy โ were found abandoned in a tunnel outside the hospital. Yet there was no arrest, no closure. Celeste and Morneโs relationship fractured beneath the weight of their sorrow, but they struggled through.
โWe blamed each other. I was desperate for another baby, feeling empty and alone,โ says Celeste. โI hated pregnant women; I couldnโt stand to see them. It was only after a year of therapy that I started dealing with the loss.โ Almost five years after Zephany was taken, the birth of the coupleโs second child, Cassidy, sparked the renewal of their family dream.
Morne doted on his baby girl, lavishing her with the love heโd never had the chance to offer Zephany. For Celeste, her joy was overshadowed by fears.
โShe was lying next to me in the cot and Iโd attach her wrist to mine with a band and cover it with the blanket so no-one could see.โ Cassidy lit up their lives, yet never could Celeste or Morne have foreseen the pivotal role their little girl would play in unraveling the fate of her missing sister.
Cassidy and her two younger siblings, Joshua and Micah, were raised knowing their eldest sister had been snatched at birth. Every year, on April 28, Celeste, Morne and their brood hosted a party for the absent birthday girl, handing out lolly bags to local children and blowing out an ever-growing number of candles.
Morne Nurse, biological father of Zephany Nurse outside the front of the Cape Town high court
While battling to keep the hope alive, in 2015, Celeste was dealt another blow. โI had been suffering pain in my abdomen and lower back for months, and was eventually diagnosed with Stage 3B cervical cancer,โ she reveals. โOur marriage couldnโt survive this latest knock โ and suddenly I was on my own, raising three kids, with cancer.โ
That same year, 13-year-old Cassidy started her first year of high school in the southern suburbs outside Cape Town, one of more than 1000 pupils. Somehow, her uncanny resemblance to a senior girl quickly set tongues wagging. Excitedly, Cassidy told her parents about the older girl sheโd met who looked just like her.
โI instinctively thought, โCould it be Zephany?โโ remembers Celeste. โThe two struck up a friendship and when I saw photos of the girl, I knew. She was my missing child.โ With Cassidy by her side, Celeste trawled Zephanyโs Facebook profile, hungry to fill in the blanks. โI saw she was โbornโ on April 30, 1997 โ the day Zephany was abducted.
When Cassidy asked her where she was born, she named the hospital where I had been before complications set in during labour,โ says Celeste. โThe details started adding up.โ
She immediately contacted Detective Mike Barkhuizen, whoโd long been in charge of the investigation into Zephanyโs abduction. Armed with a search warrant, Barkhuizen and his team swooped on the home of a local seamstress and her electrician husband at an unassuming Lavender Hill address, just a few kilometres from where the Nurse family lived. The woman who had raised Zephany denied any involvement, but was barred from seeing her from the day of her arrest on February 26, 2015. (Her husband maintains he never suspected the child was not his.)
โHow was I going to be a mother to a 17 year old, when I hadnโt had the chance to see her grow up?โโ โ Zephanyโs mother
Meanwhile in the Nurse household, there was jubilation, gratitude, and nervous anticipation.
โWeโd been to the hospital the day before for DNA tests,โ says Celeste. โI was so anxious I barely slept. I couldnโt concentrate at work. At midday, my phone rang. It was Detective Barkhuizen. โCeleste?โ he said. โJy gaan weer โn ma wordโ โ Youโre going to be a mother again. I burst into tears. After 17 years, Zephany was coming home.โ
The DNA tests had proven that Zephany (who was raised under a different name which has never been disclosed to protect her identity) was indeed Morne and Celesteโs biological daughter, and on February 26, 2015, the couple came face to face with their long-lost daughter.
โI was shaking when we went to see her. What was I going to say to her?โ says Celeste. โWhen we saw her, I was shocked โ she looked just like me. I broke down and then we hugged โ like strangers, because we were. I kept telling her that we had been searching for her all these years. We never forgot her. I couldnโt believe my baby was now a tall, beautiful girl. How was I going to be a mother to a 17-year-old, when I hadnโt had the chance to see her grow up?โโ
Celeste and Morne had recently divorced, but when news rippled through South Africa โ and the world โ that their daughter had been found, the pair put on a united front, arriving at press briefings together and holding hands. For them, years of pain, anger, blame and frustration were over. Or so they thought.
The reunion theyโd longed for has not been easy on Zephany or her blood parents. For the first few weeks, as Zephany got to know her three siblings and her biological parents, the Nurses were blissfully happy. Mother and daughter shared some precious moments, including the preparations for Zephanyโs high-school graduation dance. โTears were running down my cheeks as I helped her get ready,โ says a wistful Celeste.
โI couldnโt believe I got to share the moment with her.โ
Cracks, however, started to appear ahead of Zephanyโs 18th birthday. Celeste and Morne wanted it to be a big celebration to mark the first year she would blow out her own birthday candles, surrounded by her real family. They hired a venue, ordered a cake and invited their closest friends. But the birthday girl decided not to attend the party. Instead, she spent her milestone birthday in the Lavender Hill home where she was raised, surrounded by the aunties and cousins sheโd grown up with.
Family members gather in front of the Nurseโs home after they heard the good news that Zephany Nurse was found after she was kidnapped 17 years ago
By the end of last year, Zephanyโs relationship with her biological family had crumbled. She made it clear she loved the woman who had raised her, and kept a close bond with the man she knew as โDaddyโ. Morne and Celeste tried to step back as not to overwhelm and smother the teenager whose world had been turned upside down.
Celeste maintains: โI am here to support [Zephany] with whatever she needsโ, even praising the woman who had raised her, saying she had done a good job. In stark contrast, Zephanyโs biological grandmother, Zephra Nurse, lashed out publicly at the teen. โSheโs a rude, insolent brat,โ she vented outside the magistrateโs court where the accused abductor was appearing. โShe is different to my other grandchildren. She wants things her way and she swears. As a family, we are very disappointed.โ
In February this year, local and international media organisations descended on the Western Cape High Court as the alleged kidnapperโs trial got underway, signalling the latest painful chapter in the tug-of-war for Zephany. The Lavender Hill woman took to the stand and testified she had never set foot in the hospital on the day Zephany disappeared.
In her 35-page plea explanation, she detailed how in her late 20s and early 30s she battled infertility and had multiple miscarriages. She claimed she met a middle-woman called โSylviaโ who offered to help her adopt a child. She testified that Sylvia โ who never materialized as a defense witness during the trial โ arranged for her to collect a baby at a train station in exchange for 3000 rand ($265) paid in three installments: โShe [the middlewoman] told me that the babyโs mother is a young girl who wanted to give her child up for adoption. I was told that the baby was mine and the documentation will be sorted out later,โ the accused wrote in her plea. โI had a bad feeling that something was wrong.โ
But, she continued, she now had a baby who she would love and care for, and raise โas my own child โฆ I recall sitting with her, brushing her hair, bathing her and always wondering where her parents were and why they did not want her as I found her to be pretty and cute,โ the accused wrote. โI thought I was helping a child who was not wanted and would not be cared for sufficiently by her biological parents.โ If the accused was angling for sympathy, it wasnโt forthcoming from Judge John Hlophe.
From the outset of the trial, he expressed disdain for the woman on the witness stand. Unmoved by her tale of woe, he often shook his head and rolled his eyes as she insisted she did not know the baby was Zephany, or that she had been kidnapped.
โOne doesnโt have to be a rocket scientist to know that one does not buy babies. Your story is a fairytale, and the court rejects it with the contempt it deserves,โ declared Judge Hlophe while handing down a judgement, denying her a bail extension. โLies, lies, lies โ I found your evidence astonishing,โ he reiterated, summing up her testimony as having โabsolutely no substanceโ.
Judge Hlophe found the woman guilty of kidnapping, fraud and contravening sections of the Childrenโs Act. This week she was sentenced to 10 years behind bars in Pollsmoor Prison. As one of the countryโs most overcrowded and notorious jails, itโs going to be a long, hard road for the woman who has stuck by her โfairytaleโ of how Zephany came into her life.
While many South Africans believe justice was served, the lives of those closest to this tragic tale have been left in tatters.
Zephany, who turned 19 in April, has chosen to live with the man who raised her, a decision Celeste has โrespectโ for, she says. โHe is the man she has known and loved her entire life.โ
While Zephany regards the convicted kidnapper as her mum, and delivers treats to her in jail, Celeste is saddened by how her miracle has soured, but she has not lost faith. โI wonโt keep her from that family, it is all she knows. She is still deciding on her future โ and I am here to support her with whatever she needs. As long as I know where my child is, Iโm OK.โโ

Ann Maree Lee, mother of Mason Lee, who died tragically on June 11 after suffering from long-term abuse, will fight the charge of manslaughter, a court has heard.
The 30-year-oldโs lawyer, Brendan Ryan, told reporters outside of the court, โShe will be fighting the charge of manslaughter.โ
โThe charge of manslaughter is the incorrect charge.โ
Channel Nine reports that a court medical report stated that the 21-month-old child died from a โperforated intestine caused by a severe impact to his upper abdomen in the days leading up to his deathโ.
Doctors told the court they believe the child could have been saved had he received proper medical treatment.
It has also been revealed that child protection officers met with Lee just three days before Mason died, however the child was at the home of her partner, William Andrew OโSullivan, just a few blocks away, where he lay dying.
According to Seven News, Lee allegedly told welfare officers that Mason was not home, and was staying with his stepfather William OโSullivan at Caboolture South.
OโSullivan, along with his teenage housemate Ryan Hodson are also facing manslaughter charges after it is alleged the trio failed to seek medical treatment for the child.
Both Lee and OโSullivan cases are due back in court on September 28. Hodson has been released on bail.

New research has come out to suggest pregnant women should exercise caution when taking paracetemol due to a possible link with behavioural problems in children.
A long-term study of almost 8000 mothers out of the UK found an association between women who used the drug during pregnancy and hyperactivity and emotional problems in children aged seven.
Published in the journal JAMA Pediatrics, the study found that 53 per cent of women took the drug at 18 weeks, and 42 per cent at 32 weeks.
By the age of seven, they found that the children of women who reported taking paracetamol during pregnancy were 46 per cent more likely to display some type of behavioural disorder than those whose mothers had avoided taking the drug.
Around 5% of the children in the study were found to have behavioral problems.
Further research however is required, and Dr Luke Grzeskowiak, specialist pharmacist and researcher at the Robinson Institute and University of Adelaide, tells SMH that the study is not strong enough to stop the use of paracetemol in pregnant women for the relief of pain and fever.
โWeโre talking about an extra one to two cases [of behavioural problems] per 100 births being linked to paracetamol use,โ he said. โSo in this study, 95 per cent of mums who took paracetamol during pregnancy had a child with no problems at seven years of age โฆ I think that message gets lost in a lot of this.โ
Paracetemoel is recommended for pregnant women due to the link between other drugs like ibuprofen, which is linked to increased risk of miscarriage and can cause harm to the fetus.
โThe key message from this study is only to take paracetamol when absolutely necessary and to take it for the shortest possible duration, not to avoid it completely,โ he said.
Dr Ian Musgrave, from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Adelaide, reiterated the importance of following the advice of a doctor.
โAnyone taking paracetamol should follow the advice of their health practitioner and follow the dosage instructions for paracetamol,โ he tells Business Insider.

But one sociomedical researcher in France, Odile Fillod, believes that to fix this knowledge problem about sex and female pleasure, we should be improving sex education in schools. She has thus developed a 3D-printed clitoris to demonstrate that the clitoris is made up of the same tissue as the penis.
Odile told The Guardian that teaching women (and men) about the female orgasm through the clitoris will give them a healthier and more informed view on sex.
โItโs important that women have a mental image of what is actually happening in their body when theyโre stimulated,โ She said. โIn understanding the key role of the clitoris, a woman can stop feeling shame, or [that sheโs] abnormal if penile-vaginal intercourse doesnโt do the trick for her โ given the anatomical data, that is the case for most women.โ
She also addressed the common misconception that the female anatomical equivalent of the penis is the vagina when it comes to pleasure.
โItโs also vital to know that the equivalent of a penis in a woman is not a vagina, itโs her clitoris. Women get erections when theyโre excited, only you canโt see them because most of the clitoris is internal. I wanted to show that men and women are not fundamentally different.โ
Odile praised Franceโs reputation for being sexually liberal, however believes there needs to be a more equal focus on female sexuality, and hopes her creation can improve understanding in the future.

Sheโs Australiaโs golden girl and since she burst her way on to the scene opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street, Hollywood has well and truly fallen in love with Margot Robbie.
But it turns out our Margot has been keeping a secret from us.
She has two brothers โ and theyโre both ridiculously good looking.
Cameron Robbie is her younger brother and at just 21-years-old heโs also caught the acting bug.
โMy sister and I liked to perform all the time, (including) skits at home. When she started succeeding, I realised you can do this as a job,โ he told the in 2014.
โShe is such a grounded, supportive and intelligent girl. Thereโs such a business side to this world โฆ and sheโs helping with (that).โ
Then thereโs Margotโs older brother, Lachlan โLockieโ Robbie who is also in โthe bizโ working as a stunt man.
Margot also has a sister, Anya (who as far as we can tell isnโt on social media) to balance out the boys, and the four were raised by their mum, Sarie Kessler, at their family home in Queensland.
It was revealed this week that Margotโs father, Doug Robbie, a โsugarcane tycoonโ from Queensland isnโt in touch with the 26-year-old actress.
โAnya [Margotโs sister] and Margot donโt want to know him,โ a source told New Idea.
According to the report, Margotโs brother Lockie is the only sibling who is close with their father, posting a photo on Instagram for Fatherโs Day.

Police arenโt ruling out a connection between the sexual assault and murder of two young women in the Americaโs North East.
27-year-old Vanessa Marcotte was found dead just half a mile from her motherโs home in Princeton, Massachusetts and just days before that, Katrina Vetrano, 30, was found in eerily similar circumstances near her home in Queen, New York.
Both women, who look remarkably similar, had been jogging alone before being sexually assaulted and brutally murdered.
Police in New York and Massachusetts are not ruling out a connection between the two cases.
โWe havenโt ruled anything out. Weโre going to continue to investigate this case and follow the leads where they take us,โ NYPD spokesman Peter Donald told The New York Post.
Worcester County (Massachusetts) District Attorney Joseph Early Jr also suggested there could be a connection between the killings.
โWe understand there are similarities,โ he said during a press conference on August 9.
โWeโre approaching this from every angle. Weโre fairly early in this investigation.โ
However adding further fuel to the fears of a potential serial killer, was the news of a third woman, nurse and writer Alexandra Brueger, 31, who was killed in Michigan on July 30.
Brueger was shot several times from behind while out for a run.
While the three murders all occurred in separate states, Marcotte and Vetranoโs were only three hours apart, while Brueger was killed several states across.
The police have not commented on a possible link between the Brueger case.

More evidence of Johnny Depp and Amber Heardโs violent relationship has emerged with disturbing photos.
TMZ has acquired a photo of Johnny Deppโs fingertip, which was allegedly cut off in a fit of rage by a broken bottle, and is being used as an exhibit in Amber Heardโs domestic violence case against Johnny Depp.
According to E! News, an insider has said the incident occurred when they were having a fight in March last year, and Johnny Depp smashed a bottle. He cut off his fingertip accidentally, then used the bloody chunk to write a message to Amber on the mirror in the villa where they were staying.
In the message, he accused her of cheating on him with Billy Bob Thornton, allegedly writing โStarring Billy Bobโ and โEasy Amberโ. The incident took place just a month after they were married.

Princess Dianaโs wedding to Prince Charles was an extravagant affair, and her wedding gown was one of the most memorable parts of the event!
35 years since the Royal coupleโs wedding day, the designer of her dress, David Emanuel, ghas opened up in an interview with Express.co.uk about the design process and why he and his wife made the choices they did.
750 million people were estimated to have watched the wedding, and her dress stole the show. It was made of ivory silk taffeta and antique lace, and decorated with 10,000 pearls and sequins with a 25-foot long train.
Princess Diana came and bought some dresses from David and his wife before they knew she was famous, and all of a sudden one of their dresses was on the news. Later, Princess Diana herself called them personally and asked them to take on the challenge of making her wedding dress.
โWe didnโt say a word and then we wondered if perhaps it was a hoax call and a bad joke,โ he said. โSuddenly, Diana rang again and apologised as sheโd been busy. But I had no idea how designing her wedding dress would have an effect on the rest of my career.โ
The process of designing it was top secret, and David described the lengths they went to to protect the design. โI showed her a sketch and ripped the sketch up because we didnโt want it floating around,โ he said.
Princess Diana and David Emanuel
When asked what it was like dressing Diana, he said he loved the experience.
โShe was delinquent, delicious, wonderful, real and adorable. She was simply young and fresh. I wanted the dress to reflect that but she was going in as Lady Diana Spencer and coming out as the Princess of Wales. St Paulโs Cathedral was very grand,โ he said. โIf you did a subtle little number itโs not going to work to an audience of seven hundred billion people!โ
When Princess Diana saw the dress, apparently she said it was โfabulousโ! And the rest is history.

Carrie Bickmore made an exciting announcement on The Project last night โ after almost a year since launching Carrieโs Beanies 4 Brain Cancer, the initiative has hit her goal of making $1 million for researchers of brain cancer.
Carrie announced the launch of Carrieโs Beanies 4 Brain Cancer late last year. She made headlines at the Logies ceremony when she wore a beanie on stage while accepting the Gold Logie and talking about her late husband, Greg Lange, who died from the disease in 2010.
The foundation has raised $1.1 million since its launch, and Carrie Bickmore tearfully thanked everyone for their support.
โI want to say to anybody who is suffering from brain cancer right now, we will use this money, and I will use it to try and make your future brighter, so that is what I promise you weโll do.โ
There was so much demand for the beanies that they have now sold out, and Carrie said next time theyโll order โthree times as manyโ!
โTo each and every one of you who have bought a beanie, seeing all the pics coming up on social media, families and babies and kids and, you know, I donโt know any of you, but I feel like I know you all,โ she said. โSo thank you very, very much.โ

If like us you are a mad Sex and the City fan โ even though youโve seen every episode at least five time, you could still watch it all day everyday โ you would remember little Brady Hobbes, the son of Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Steve (David Eigenberg).

The tongue-in-cheek video shows hosts Jake Wilson and Sas Goldberg freaking out over a now-teenage Joseph, who remained very nonfussed by it all.

A woman has been jailed for 10 years after kidnapping a baby from a South African hospital 19 years ago and raising her as her own.
The story of โZephany Nurseโ, who was snatched from her sleeping motherโs arms as a newborn, has captivated South Africa for decades.
The crime was only uncovered after people noticed an uncanny resemblance between Zephany and another girl at her school. A subsequent DNA confirmed that the two were sisters.
The convicted womanโs name has not been released, in order to protect the identity of the victim. She is a 51-year-old seamstress.
During the trial, she told the court that she had suffered several miscarriages. She denied stealing the baby, and instead claimed that she was handed a newborn baby at a busy railway station by a woman called Sylvia.
Her husband, who only discovered Zephanyโs real identity recently, has stood by his wife.
โNo-one believes me at this moment and Iโm a victim myself. I was tricked into something I was not aware of,โ she told the BBC in an interview she gave before she was convicted.
But one of the most heartbreaking aspects of the case is that โZephanyโ herself is said to be devastated and confused by the revelations.
Local media have reported that Zephany does not wish to have a relationship with her birth parents, and despite everything, still considers the woman who kidnapped her to be as mother.
According to the BBC, Zephanyโs family hopes they will now have a chance to bond and form a relationship with Zephany.

Today, Leonardo DiCaprio is world-famous โ a Hollywood heavyweight whoโs as famous for blockbuster movies and Academy Awards as he is blonde model conquests.
But back in 1996 he was a little-known โ if well-regarded โ actor, so when Baz Luhrmann was casting for his film Romeo + Juliet, he had his doubts.
โWhen I saw Leonardo I thought, God, thatโs how he should look. But can he act?โ the director told iHeart Radio.
Fortunately, DiCaprio had more going for him than merely good looks โ as well as superlative acting skills, he had a group of friends who were prepared to go to any lengths to help him land his dream role.
According to Luhrmann, DiCaprio enlisted a group of famous friends (possibly including Tobey Maguire and Kevin Connolly) and filmed a short version of the play. He then flew to Australia to deliver the audition.
โHe came down to Australia and he brought all these friends and we made a whole video of the show with other actors,โ Luhrmann said.
โI wonโt say who, it will never be seen; I realized that I couldnโt make it without him.โ

Betsy Davis, one of the first women to choose assisted suicide in California, celebrated her choice with a two-day long fete with 30 of her closest friends and family
There was pizza and chilli, dancing, photo-taking and lots and lots of alcohol at the party 41-year-old Betsy Davis threw in July earlier this year in Ojai in Southern California. There were 30 of her closest friends and family, who flew all across America to be there. There was laughter, there were gifts. The party was so good it lasted two days. Nobody wanted to leave.
In these respects, Betsyโs party wasnโt unique. But in one other, integral matter it was. This was a party celebrating Betsyโs life, just days before she took a lethal dose of drugs to end it. Betsy was suffering from terminal ALS, or Lou Gehrigโs disease. She was one of the first Californians to choose assisted suicide under the stateโs recently passed bill legalising the practice, The Guardianreports.
โThese circumstances are unlike any party you have attended before, requiring emotional stamina, centeredness and openness,โ the invitation to the party read.
Her family and friends turned out in droves, and abided by her single rule for the event (no crying).
โUnder her guidance, Iโd put sticky notes next to items around the house, explaining their significance,โ her sister Kelly Davis told an American website. โShe invited everyone to โtake a Betsy souvenirโ to remember her.โ
The one rule at Betsy Davis' suicide party: No crying in front of her https://t.co/aHnpn2CCuP
When the weekend was over, Betsy changed into a beautiful purple kimono she had purchased on a trip to Japan, and was driven to a nearby hillside, where there was โa white canopy and a makeshift bed,โ Kelly remembers. There, Kelly took the medicine that would legally end her life. โShe wanted to fall asleep as the sun was setting,โ Kelly wrote.
California is the fifth state in America to pass โend of lifeโ legislation in support of assisted suicide. The first was Oregon, who passed the legislation almost 10 years ago.
โMy sister is an example of exactly what the law intended to do: allow a dying young woman the ability to assert control over the chaos and uncertainty of terminal illness,โ Kelly wrote. โShe turned death into a reason to celebrate, and she was there to enjoy the party.โ
Assisted suicide is illegal in Australia. If you are in need of counselling, call Lifeline on 13 11 14.

On March 15, 2015, 54-year-old Cheryl Silvonek died in the driveway of her Pennsylvanian home after being beaten, strangled and stabbed in the neck multiple times.
21-year-old Fort Meade Soldier Caleb Barnes and his then 14-year-old girlfriend, Jaime Silvonek, have been found guilty of murdering Jaimeโs mother, Cheryl, after driving home from a concert together in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
In a taped interview Barnes claimed that after arriving at the Silvonek home the two began having sex once Jaimeโs mother had left the vehicle. When Cheryl came back and found the two in the act she became enraged and he killed her in self defence.
In February Jaime pleaded guilty to the homicide and was jailed for a minimum of 35 years to life. During her plea hearing she admitted that she lied to Barnes about her age saying that she was 16. Authorities reported that she also tried to convince Cheryl that Barnes was 16 too.
Prosecutors alleged that both Jaime and Barnes were responsible after uncovering deleted text messages between the couple conspiring to murder Cheryl, according to NEWS.com
โI have the knives picked out.โ A disturbing text from Barnes to Jaime a week before Cherylโs death.

Barnes feared he might lose his job if Cheryl Silvonek told the authorities about his age and during his testimony on Friday, Barnes shocked the jury when he claimed he helped Jamie dispose of the evidence because she had just told him she was pregnant.
When the trial opened in Pennsylvaniaโs Lehigh County Court last Tuesday, Barnesโ lawyer, Richard Webster, claims he had no role in the murder and told the jury that Jaime was a โliar, manipulator and wanted her mother dead.โ Webster also went on to admit that Barnes did help clean up the crime and bury Cherylโs body.
Senior Deputy District Attorney Jeffrey Dimmig told the court that Barnes made a full confession to police after his arrest and Lehigh County Detective Richard Heffelfinger also testified that not only did Barnes admit to stabbing Cheryl but he provided multiple reasons for doing so.
A week prior to the slaying Jamieโs then-best friend, who remains anonymous as she is a juvenile, testified that she overhead at least two conversations where Jaime and Barnes discussed killing Jamieโs parents. The girl said that by the end of the conversation โhe became more open to the idea,โ reports The Morning Call.

The father of the 13-year-old boy who committed suicide on August 11 has taken to Facebook with a heartbreaking message to his sonโs bullies.
Daniel โDannyโ Fitzpatrickโs dad, who is also named Daniel, fights back the tears in a video posted over the weekend. He opens up about losing his son who was teased over his weight and grades.
โMy sonโs stories are out there for the world to see, and for the world to know the pain that he went through,โ the devastated father says in the video which has over 149,500 views.
โI miss my son very much. No parent should have to bury their child. No child should have to go through what my son went through.โ
โHe and I went to the school, went to the principal. All I got was, and all he got was, โHeโll be fine. Is he in counseling? You have to try harder, Danny. โฆ These things will pass. Children can be such horrible creatures.โ They ainโt creatures โ theyโre monsters. Disgusting little monsters.โ
โTo the parents of the boys that tormented my son: All I have to say is I hope you never, never have to feel what my family is going through right now,โ Daniel said with tears in his eyes. โYou get to hold your children every night and day for the rest of your lives and their natural lives. I donโt get that anymore. Your little monsters took that from me and my wife and his sisters.โ
The 13-year-old, who was found by his sister in the attic of the familyโs home, left a two-page suicide note, claiming the teachers โdidnโt do anythingโ to help him.
A GoFundMe page has been set up in Dannyโs memory to help give him a proper memorial and raise awareness for bullying. The page has already raised over US$98,770.

A new video has been released from Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram claims some of the Chibok schoolgirls abducted in 2014 were killed during Nigerian airstrikes.
Some 50 girls are seen in the 11-minute video with a masked gunman who is demanding release of fighters in return for the girls.
Speaking to the camera in the Hausa language, the gunman says a number of the girls have been wounded and are suffering life-threatening injuries. He also says that 40 have been โmarriedโ.
According to the BBC, the man says the girls will โneverโ be released unless the government returns the Boko Haram prisoners whom he says have been โin detention for agesโ.
The group are believed to still have over 200 of the 276 girls who were kidnapped form a school in April 2014, sparking international outrage
The Nigerian Military have been conducting air strikes in an attempt to contain the extremist group.
The Nigerian government have not yet commented on the video however Jeff Okoroafor, a spokesperson for the โBring Back Our Girlsโ campaign says the video appears legitimate.
โWe are still reaching out to some parents to see if any can recognize more,โ Okoroafor told the NY Times, adding that families of those kidnapped had recognised eight of the girls from in the clip.

As a child, Georgie Stone loved typical โlittle-girlโ things: dress-ups, picking flowers, ballet. She grew her hair long, wore tulle and insisted that the world knew she was a girl. Except, she wasnโt. Georgie was born a boy, George.
โEveryone was calling me a boy, because I was a boy,โ says Georgie. โThere was always something inside that wasnโt right. It just felt wrong.โ
Now a 16-year-old girl, Georgie is an inspiring advocate for transgender teens, and is determined to change crippling legislation that demands children go to the Family Court for permission to take โpuberty-blockingโ hormones. Going through the courts is a long and painful process for families often racing against time before puberty kicks in.
When her testosterone levels rose at 10, Georgie applied for the court order to access puberty blockers, which would stop her face from โmasculinisingโ, her voice from deepening and her facial hair from growing. At 11, she became the youngest person in Australia to be granted permission from the courts.
โI would have killed myself if my voice had broken,โ she revealed on ABCโs โAustralian Storyโ Monday night.
Georgie with dad, Greg Stone.
A year after marrying, Georgieโs parents Greg and Bec discovered they were pregnant with twins. โWe had two beautiful boys, Harry and George โ or so we thought,โ recalls Greg, an actor, who admits to struggling with raising a transgender child. While Harry always dressed up as a fireman or superhero, Georgie donned princess costumes. โI love my daughter to the moon and backโฆ She has made me a better person. Iโm grateful for it all. I was very fearful back then, Iโm not anymore.โ
โHis struggle is completely understandable,โ says Georgie, whose confidence compassion belies her years. โHe was probably the last in my immediate family to understand, but once he did he was completely on board.โ
Having been through the courts, the Stone family are campaigning for it to be easier for transgender children, who are often suicidal, to get the medical help they need. โAustralia is the only jurisdiction in the world where transgender children have to go to court for treatment,โ explains Bec. โDoctors always follow the advice of the Court, so the process is lengthy, expensive and deeply distressing.โ
Image: Jackie Cohen
Melbourne lawyer Paul Boers has taken on eight pro bono cases this year. โIf [transgender children] donโt get treatment, well, theyโre in trouble, so I guess I do the cases for humanitarian reasons. But I donโt have the resources to do them all,โ he says. Boers claims that the court โjust rubber stampsโ the recommendations of the teenagersโ treating specialists. โMy hope is that sooner rather than later thereโs going to be an end to this madness having to go the Family Court,โ he says.
Georgieโs school principal describes her as โextraordinary advocate.โ
โIโm hoping that by seeing my story, [viewers] will see a happy, free 16-year-old girl who has come out the other side,โ says Georgie.

Woman are drawing closer to gaining equal representation at the 2016 Rio Olympics with 45% of competitors being female, the highest percentage in the history of the games.
In 2012 Australian designer Wendy Fox illustrated the 276 Womenโs Gold Medalists lined up in a row to highlight the diversity of the female form.
โWhile watching the London Olympics, I was fascinated by the vast variety in body size and shape amongst the elite female athletes. I was struck by an idea, wouldnโt it be interesting to line them all up?โ
This year Fox is continuing the celebration and going one step further by producing a book of the Rio women, funded by a Kickstarter campaign.
โThe project is a celebration of the body diversity and the skill and expertise of female athletes, and an illustration that no one body type is more capable or better than another when it comes to competing at the most elite and prestigious levels of athleticism,โ reports the SMH.
She hopes the project will revolutionise the body image debate and feels that the variety of body types portrayed on such a global scale is something โwe should embrace and celebrate.โ
Fox collates her data from the official Olympics website and the illustrated infographic will detail their name, age, height, weight, and sport. Fox said that the first thing she noticed when she started working on the London project was that the fastest woman in the world, Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce is tiny. She is 5โ 0โ (152 cm).
โIt made me realise how many preconceived ideas I had about what sports were even an option for a short woman (Iโm 160 cm), and the exciting discovery that you can be any body type shape or size and find a sport that you can partake in!โ
โI think itโs going to be really beautiful, archival and a great resource for girls, young woman, schools, universities, and sport institutesโ
The Kickstarter campaign ends on Friday 26th August and you can support and donate to the campaign here.
Donโt miss any of the action with the Olympics on 7 app.

Australian customs is trying to stop child sex dolls that are being imported into Australia from a Japanese company called Trottla.
Self-confessed paedophile Shin Takagi makes the dolls, and claims that he is an artist โsavingโ children from the desires of paedophiles all over the world.
The Sydney Morning Heraldreports that experts have no evidence to suggest that it is actually reducing the rate of sexual abuse of children, and more than 60,000 Australians have signed a petition against letting the dolls into the country.
The company sells over a hundred different child dolls online, with many of them posing in lingerie or swimming costumes.
Shin Takagi told The Atlantic that he was running the business as a way for paedophiles to express their desire without acting on it.
โWe should accept that there is no way to change someoneโs fetishes,โ he said. โItโs not worth living if you have to live with repressed desire.โ
Possessing โanatomically correctโ child sex dolls is an offence in Australia, and 18 dolls have been seized by border force officials since 2013.
Border forces are continuing to work to bring people before courts who are found in possession of the dolls.

Judges dealing with domestic violence cases in NSW will be given lessons how to use language that avoids sexism and โvictim-blamingโ.
A report by the NSW Domestic Violence Death Review Team uncovered numerous examples of sexist or โold-fashionedโ terms being used by judges delivering sentences in the NSW Supreme Court and the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal.
According to the Daily Telegraph, the review team discovered the phrase โyummy mummy complexโ was used in a case of woman who became obsessed with cleaning her home as a result of her abuserโs psychological control.
The report found judges were using words such as โhappyโ and โnormalโ to describing relationships despite evidence of domestic violence forming part of their remarks in sentencing, while another abuser was said to be in a state of โjealous angerโ when he set his girlfriend on fire.
โThis language minimises perpetrator accountability and minimises the abuserโs intentionally harmful behaviours,โ the team noted.
The review team is now consulting with the NSW Judicial Commission โ the body charged with educating magistrates and judges โ to develop ways in which judges and magistrates discuss domestic violence.
โUsing stronger and more appropriate language during sentencing will send a clearer message to perpetrators and the community that domestic violence, of any kind, is not acceptable,โ said a spokesperson for the NSW Domestic Violence Death Review Team.

While us Aussies already know that we have the best coffee right here in Oz, itโs always nice to hear when the rest of the world acknowledges it.
While Blake Lively was here last year filming The Shallows, she spent time on the Gold Coast, and speaking to Smallzyโs Surgery in an interview which will air tonight on Nova, she revealed her favourite hang outs โ and where she had the best coffee of her life.
โMost of my down time was spent at this amazing restaurant called Social [Eating House] which is like a fancy, treat yourself, night out restaurant, that was amazing, thatโs right on Broadbeach,โ she said.
โThe cappuccinos were amazing but the cold brew oh my gosh! I would ask them for vats of it and they would like drip it for 8 hours over night and then they have a special milk called โcapital milkโ itโs made just for cappuccinos. We donโt have that in the states.โ
And for sweet treats, Blake found a place called Skull and Bones who do a mean cronut sundae.
โThey make a croissant donut, a cronut, but like an ice cream sandwich cronutโฆ an ice cream with a coffee, come on.โ

With 517,000 followers on Instagram alone, when Bec Judd posts about something, it quickly turns to gold.
So after this weekend weโre sensing a rise in the trend of Non-Baby Showers.
The Aussie WAG, who is expecting twin boys in October, threw a get together for her nearest and dearest to celebrate the impending arrivals, but this wasnโt your typical baby shower.
โThrowing a little (non) baby shower at home today. No games, no gifts โ more of an afternoon tea with some lovely ladies (and gents),โ the 33-year-old wrote on Instagram alongside a glowing Snapchat selfie.
โI actually donโt think I can be stuffed wearing shoes- maybe my havi thongs? You can take the girl out of Perthโฆ.โ
Wearing a skin-tight Dion Lee dress for the occasion, the mum to Oscar, five, and Billie, two, with footballer husband Chris Judd, replaced all the pink in her house with blue for the day.
โPink chairs and cushions were banished for the day. Thanks @danneventhire for the โboyโ chairs and ottomans,โ she posted to Instagram.
Thanks to the joy that is social media, we got an inside look at the epic affair โ and left us with all of the balloon goals we never even knew we had.

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen are one of the cutest celeb couples, and theyโre not ashamed of showing their love loud and proud.
John Legend has recently opened up in an interview with Entertainment Tonightabout when the first moment was that he fell in love with model Chrissy Teigen.
โI fell in love with her over the phone because she is good with those 140 characters,โ he said.
โ[At the beginning of our relationship] we were texting a lot, and I started to see her sense of humour,โ he elaborated. โWe would talk on the phone, and I started to fall in love with how engaging and witty and funny she is.โ
โAnd I think thatโs when I really started to know that this was the kind of person I wanted around a lot. Once we started spending more time together between tour stops and all this other stuff, we realised we had such a connection โ and then it blossomed into a marriage and a baby.โ
โI wasnโt nervous about it,โ He added. โWhen you feel a real connection to somebody, for me it wasnโt nerves, it was more like excitement. โOh, this could be great.'โ
John Legend is currently promoting his new movie about Barack and Michelle Obamaโs first date, called Southside With You. He is an executive producer on the film and also wrote a song for it, called โStartโ.

Iโm not usually a polish girl, but my nails have been in such bad shape recently that Iโve had to put on something just to stop them splitting and chipping.
As my colleague Lucy will attest, Iโve been wearing this non-stop for the last two months. The deep cherry shade feels just right for winter, and works with my short nails and skin tone.
But what I really love about it is the longevity. After a week of tapping on my keyboard and tearing open packages, it still manages to look presentable by the end of the week.
The NailKale range is infused with kale, which is said to stimulate keratin production for stronger nails, plus UV filters and a patented plasticizer to ward off chips. And while I canโt attest to the former (I think my weak nails are a genetic thing), I can say this has impressive staying power.

โIt is what it is. Iโm unfortunately the person who has got the cancer, my husband is in jail, and Iโm now a single mother,โ Jacenko snapped after reporter Allison Langdon said the timing has raised eyebrows.
โI donโt really give a f*** what they think on my timing.โ
In the episode, which will air this Sunday, Langdon asked the former Celebrity Apprentice star whether she has an image problem, after she was criticised for drawing attention to herself on social media wearing expensive outfits to court during Curtisโ trial.
โThereโs a problem isnโt there when you announce that you have breast cancer and peopleโs first reaction is cynicism,โ said Langdon.
Too which Jacenko replied, โYouโve got too much time on your hands if you say that.โ
โItโs normal people out there,โ Langdon said in response.
โWell theyโre not normal, Alison. Change your friends,โ Jacenko snapped back.
The promo then showโs the mother-of-two in hospital before she is due to be taken into the operating theatre. The footage also shows Jacenko on the operating table.
โItโs not something Iโd ever thought Iโd face,โ she admits. โI canโt believe Iโm actually in this positionโ.
โI sure as hell donโt want to let down the children. There is me and only me, so Iโve got an obligation to all of those people to keep running, in heels.โ

Right now, Candice Swanepoel has got the pregnancy glow (sheโs awaiting the birth of her first child, due in a few weeks), but when she needs a little help, the South African model and Victoriaโs Secret Angel turns to a much-loved highlighter.
โA trick I learnt backstage is to apply highlighter on cheekbones and near the tear ducts โ it opens and brightens the eyes. I use RMS Beauty Living Luminizer. It has a natural sheen; you canโt see any shimmer or glitter.โ
Youโd be hard-pressed to find a model, actress or make-up artist who doesnโt love this highlighter, and for exactly the reason Swanepoel points out: itโs got zero glitter and adds the most subtle gloss to skin.
The RMS range was created by make-up artist Rose-Marie Swift, and sheโs used the highlighter on Gisele, Miranda Kerr and Karlie Kloss. Hit the points Swanepoel recommends, but then also try a dab on the centre of each eyelid, a little trick Swift herself shared with us.

Australia has โlost its moral compassโ when it comes to refugees, says a New Zealand politician.
The comments, made by Labour politician David Shearer on TVNZ on Sunday night, come after leaked reports to the Guardian revealed that children on Nauru have suffered sexual and physical abuse.
Mr Shearer has written to Australiaโs high commissioner in Wellington calling for 150 refugees to be settled in New Zealand on the condition that Australiaโs offshore detention camps were closed, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.
Itโs not the first time New Zealand has offered to take refugees. However, Australia has always refused to allow refugees to settle in New Zealand, saying that it was counter to Australiaโs โstop the boatsโ policy.
Under international law, it is not illegal to seek asylum in Australia.
Mr Shearer said that the leaked reports โhighlighted the fact that [Australiaโs refugee] policy is unsustainable. I mean itโs almost like Australia has lost its moral compass in terms of where itโs going.โ
โI really do think New Zealand, however it can, should make the offer to say โlook, what is it we can do to short-circuit this and bring these kidsโ detention to an end. I do think Australiaโs reputation is being diminished as a result.โ
Mr Shearerโs comments come as the leader of Britainโs Liberal Democrats party criticised Australiaโs immigration policies.
โI have written to Boris Johnson urging him to meet urgently with the Australian high commissioner to express deep concern about the situation in Nauru, and stress that their responsibilities under the 1951 convention apply the same in Nauru as they would to refugees in Australia,โ Tim Farron told the Guardian.

Tom Hiddleston has been famously secretive in the past about his love interests, however his relationship with Taylor Swift has been quite different. From their very own version of Roman Holiday to theories that theyโre actually making a music video, the public has been watching their relationship very closely.
Tom Hiddleston has recently opened up in a Facebook Live video with The Hollywood Reporterabout his recent and upcoming work.
But se was asked about his new relationship by a fan: โThis summer has been a high profile one for you personally, what have you learnt about the culture of celebrity?โ
Tom Hiddleston responded:
โWe all live in a world where every phone has a camera and thereโs nothing new, really, about the spotlight on me. I think thatโs what happens when youโre a public figure.โ
But he went on to say:
โWhat have I learned about it? Iโve learned toโI donโt know, maybe itโs too soon to tell. Um, Iโve learned that there are many sides to a story, and that sometimes there are a lot of stories out there which are false, and the hardest thing is to try to not let those falsehoods affect your own life. Thatโs what I would say.โ

A new video has emerged over the weekend apparently showing Johnny Depp getting aggressive with Amber Heard, and seeming to throw a wine bottle and glass around in the kitchen.
TMZreleased the video, which was filmed by Amber Heard, and comes a day before her deposition in LA.
Johnny Depp can be seen kicking and shouting curses in the kitchen while he reaches for a wine bottle and glass.
โNothing happened this morning, you know that?โ Amber Heard can be heard saying. โI just woke up and you were so sweet and nice โ we were not even fighting this morning. All I said was sorry.โ
Johnny Depp then says: โYou want to see crazy? Iโll give you crazy,โ pouring a glass of red wine. โHereโs me โ all your crazy.โ
He then realises that she is filming the whole situation and tosses the phone and the video cuts off.
Amber Heardโs rep told WHO that she wasnโt responsible for the release of the video.
โI am not responsible for the release of the video. It was not what I wanted and I am doing what I can to force the media to take it off the internet. I underestimated the toll that this difficult few months have taken on me, emotionally and physically, and the efforts made by the media to intimidate and discredit me. It is for that reason, and my desire to make the healthiest choice for myself, and hopefully for Johnny, that I am attempting to resolve this matter in the most private way possible.โ
Though many people on the Internet reacting to the video have suggested that it isnโt actually Johnny Depp shown, Johnny Deppโs reps have yet to comment.
Johnny Deppโs divorce attorney Laura Wasser has suggested that โAmber is attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse.โ

She turned 43 this week, making her one of the oldest athletes in Rio. But that didnโt stop Kirstin Armstrong from taking out the gold in the cycling individual time trial yesterday.
And the photo taken of Armstrong embracing her five-year-old son has become emblematic of the Olympic spirit.
US cyclist Armstrong suffered a nosebleed during the race, and after she crossed the finishing line, she looked around to ask: โDid I win?โ
Upon confirmation that she had taken out gold โ her third Olympic gold medal โ she collapsed on the ground. After being checked by paramedics, Armstrong looked up to see her young son.
Later, she told National Public Radio that she hoped her win would be an inspiration for other mothers.
โI think that for so long weโve been told that we should be finished at a certain age. And I think that thereโs a lot of athletes out there that are actually showing that thatโs not true.
โFor all the moms out there, I hope that this was a very inspiring day.โ
2. Watch Kyle Chalmersโ Grandparents Celebrate His Gold Medal Swim
Sitting in their living room in South Austraila, Malcolm and and Julie Bagnell cheered, screamed and cried tears of joy as their beloved grandson Kyle Chalmers swam his way to gold at the Rio Olympics.
The 18-year-old, who put his exams on hold to follow his dreams, made history when he came out of nowhere to take the menโs 100m freestyle.
โItโs gold, itโs gold,โ Mr Bagnell cheered, jumping from his seat and planting a kiss on his wifeโs lips.
Chalmers is the first Aussie man to win the 100m freestyle since 1968, and only the fourth to ever do so.
Speaking after the race, the teen said he couldnโt have been happier.
โItโs awesome. I didnโt have any more to give,โ he said. โBut thereโs mixed emotions. Itโs hard winning and him (McEvoy) not swimming his best.โ
โItโs definitely still sinking in I have actually wonโฆ I faded towards the end there especially when I got under the flags, I was worried I glided too long at that finish.โ
3. Brazilian Rugby Player Surprised With Proposal After Olympic Final
In case you missed it, the Australian team WON the Rugby 7s Gold Medal at the Rio Olympics. Kind of a big deal.
While their athletic achievement was absolutely golden (oh, the puns) it was an act of love on the sidelines that has melted hearts around the globe.
Brazilian rugby player Isadora Cerullo watched the game with her eliminated team, but got the surprise of her life when her girlfriend took to the field as the crowds dispersed after official proceedings.
Marjorie Enya, a Rio volunteer and manager at the venue, grabbed the microphone and delivered an emotional speech before the couple ran to each other for a tearful embrace.
โAs soon as I knew she was in the squad I thought I have to make this special,โ Enya told BBC Sport.
โI know rugby people are amazing and they would embrace it,โ she added, and claimed she had not been nervous about popping the question so publicly to her partner of two years.
โShe is the love of my life,โ she said.
The adorable couple live in Sao Paulo, where Cerullo moved to focus her attention on making the Brazil squad for the Olympics.
โThe Olympic Games can look like closure but for me itโs starting a new life with someone,โ said Enya. โI wanted to show people that love wins.โ
It certainly does!

4. This Story Of A Stranger Helping A Father Is What The Olympics Is All About
Itโs the kind of story that perfectly illustrates the Olympic spirit.
Liz Willock had missed her flight to Philadelphia, so she caught a cab from the airport to her hotel. On the way, the blonde started chatting with her Uber driver, Ellis Hill.
They talked about how he came to be an Uber driver, and then moved on to the Olympics, when Willock mentioned that she knew someone who was competing at Rio. But Hill had an even better story. He revealed that his son, Darrell, was competing as a shot-putter.
He explained that he couldnโt wait to see his son compete on TV, as he couldnโt afford the plane ticket to Rio.
โIt was devastating to hear that,โ Ms Willock told People. โHereโs this wonderful man who has a close relationship with his son and I know any parent would want to see their son or daughter compete at the Olympics.โ
So when Willock exited the car, she decided to take matters into her own hands. She set up a GoFundMe page with a fundraising goal of $7500, according to The Washington Post โ and just two days later had met her target.
Needless to say, Hill was overwhelmed. โPeople are people, so until they do something different, you expect the best out of people,โ he said. โItโs an awesome thing.โ
Itโs a sentiment shared by his son, Darrell, 22. โThis is my first Olympic Games and Iโm 22 years old. Just being able to share this first experience with my dad means the world.โ
Darrell competes in the shotput in Rio this Thursday.
Donโt miss any of the action with the Olympics on 7 app.

Mother Ann-Maree Lee, step-father William Andrew OโSullivan and Hodson reportedly sent text messages to each other of Mason lying in pools of vomit, and they argued over whose responsibility it was to take him to the doctor. By the time they called paramedics, it was too late.
Though Hodsonโs application for bail was denied in the Caboolture Magistrates Court last week, it was accepted in the Brisbane Supreme Court after the court was told that he was not a primary carer for the child, and that jail would be debilitating for him as a teenager.

If like us you are a mad Sex and the City fan โ even though youโve seen every episode at least five time, you could still watch it all day everyday โ you would remember little Brady Hobbes, the son of Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Steve (David Eigenberg).
Well the actor who played the adorable little red head was Joseph Pupo, and now twelve years on heโs filmed a hilarious interview with The Battery Company.
The tongue-in-cheek video shows hosts Jake Wilson and Sas Goldberg freaking out over a now-teenage Joseph, who remained very nonfussed by it all.
Asking him questions like if heโs team Aiden or Mr. Big, what the audition process was like to which he simply replies, โ I was like three-months-oldโฆโ

To mark the momentous occasion, Jenna took to Instagram to thank fans for their support.
The 35-year-old actress posted a cute throwback photo of the pair writing, โ#tbt to on set of Step Up. I cannot believe itโs the 10 year anniversary of the release today!! Ahhhh where does the time go?? Love you all and thanks for all the love all these yearsโคโคโ.

Itโs easy to get caught up in the thrill of the Olympics โ spine-tingling races to the finish line, awe-inspiring world records and spectacular duels. But every once in a while, an athlete transcends the time trials and makes a different kind of record โ the kind that lifts our hearts and maybe even changes the world. Herewith, Rioโs most moving moments so far, starring an all-female cast.

1. Yusra Mardini
This 18-year-old swimmerโs training regime is a little different to that of Australiaโs Campbell sisters. After her home was destroyed in the Syrian Civil War last year, Mardini fled the country with her sister. When their boat โ overloaded with fellow asylum seekers โ broke down in the middle of the Aegean Sea, Mardini jumped in the ocean and helped swim the vessel (for three hours) to safety. In Rio, she competed as part of the inaugural Refugee Team, finishing seventh in her 100m freestyle heat. The now Berlin-based teenager told reporters: โThe only things I know now are that I want to continue swimming and continue supporting refugees.โ

2. Australiaโs Womenโs Rugby Sevens
Four years ago this squad didnโt exist. Now, they wear gold medals around their necks. In the sportโs first Olympic outing, the Aussie girls โ most of whom were hand-picked for the team from diverse sporting backgrounds: athletics, touch football, hockey and basketball โ took the tournament by storm. The best bit? Their win signifies one giant leap for womenโs sport in Australia.

3. Doaa Elghobashy Beach volleyball may usually be associated with itsy bitsy bikinis and toned, tanned bodies frolicking in the sand. But on Planet Olympia, stereotypes are there to be crushed. Cue Egyptian volleyballer Doaa Elghobashy, who took to the Copacabana sand last week in a modest long-sleeved ensemble and hijab. โI have worn the hijab for 10 years,โ Elghobashy told reporters. โIt doesnโt keep me away from the things I love to do, and beach volleyball is one of them.โ It will go down in history as a shining moment of cultural diversity โ though hopefully one that future generations view as unremarkable.

4. Kristin Armstrong
Four years ago she (temporarily) retired, but yesterday Kristin Armstrong became the oldest female Olympic cycling gold medallist ever โ on the eve of her 43rd birthday. Embracing her five-year-old son after the race, the American told NPR, โโI think that for so long weโve been told that we should be finished at a certain age. And I think that thereโs a lot of athletes out there that are actually showing that thatโs not true.โ But if Armstrong does retire from competitive cycling any time soon, she wonโt be putting her feet up โ she already has a full-time job as director of community health at an Idaho hospital, cycling in her spare time.
This woman is more than just a proud judo player who has won an Olympic gold medal; she is Kosovoโs first ever medallist. Her war-torn nation declared independence from Serbia in 2008, and this year it made its Olympic debut. Kelmendi, a 25-year-old who has been something of a judo star since her youth, resisted offers from other nationโs to join their ranks: โI was young but I could see that my country needed to be represented in the world. Today I am very happy that this medal is for Kosovo โฆ It means a lot. People, especially kids in Kosovo, look to me as a hero.โ

Simone Biles won gold in gymnastics for the womenโs individual all-around event on Thursday, making her the best gymnast in the world.
The US gymnast drew quite a response for her high flying antics, scoring 15.933 on floor โ the highest of the day on any apparatus โ and 62.198 overall, putting her 2 points in front of Aly Raisman, who won silver.
Celebs have been quick to react online to the 19-year-oldโs amazing performance, and it looks like Zac Efron has particularly taken a shine to her! He posted these tweets to cheer her on before the event:
