Carter has just gone through a break up of her own, ending her one-year marriage to The Hills star Brody Jenner earlier this month. The two women, who reportedly knew each other through mutual friends, have been travelling through Italy with Cyrusโ older sister, Brandi Cyrus, for the past week taking to Instagram to share photos of their trip.

After photos surfaced of Cyrus and Carter kissing, Jenner took to Instagram to post a photo with a crypic caption: โDonโt let yesterday take up too much of today.โ He then took to the comments section, replying to Brandon Thomas Lee, writing, โWatch out! Pics of Liam and I holding hands on the beach coming soon.โ
But thatโs not all, folks. Cyrus quickly responded to the pair, writing, โGo take a nap in your truck and cool off #HotGirlSummer.โ
Meanwhile, Hemsworth was asked how heโs feeling about the split by a photographer in Byron Bay, Australia. Instead of joking around like the others, the actor responded truthfully with, โYou donโt understand what itโs like. I donโt want to talk about it, mate.โ
Someone get me on a plane to Byron Bay, STAT.

Itโs likely been a rough few weeks for Liam Hemsworth, who has left Los Angeles, where he shares a home with Miley Cyrus and their pets, and has been staying with family in Byron Bay, Australia as confirmation of the coupleโs split was publicly confirmed.
While Miley has been posting multiple daily photos from her girlโs trip to Italy, during which she was spotted kissing Brody Jennerโs ex-wife, Kaitlynn Carter, Liam has been absent from social media since a rep for Miley released a statement saying the pairโs eight-month marriage is over.
Yesterday, 26-year-old Miley addressed the break up on Instagram, sharing a photo of herself standing in front of mountains with the caption: โDonโt fight evolution, because you will never win. Like the mountain I am standing on top of , which was once under water , connected with Africa , change is inevitable. The Dolomites were not created over night, it was over millions of years that this magnificent beauty was formed. My dad always told me โ Nature never hurries but it is always on timeโโฆ. it fills my heart with peace and hope KNOWING that is true. I was taught to respect the planet and its process and I am committed to doing the same with my own โฆ. ๐โ
Liam has also made his first public remark on the split, albeit reluctantly. The actor was approached by a Daily Mail Australiareporter who asked him the recent reports, to which Liam replied, โโYou donโt understand what itโs like. I donโt want to talk about it, mate.โ
Liamโs comments come two days after Mileyโs rep said the two had โagreed to separate at this time.โ
โEver-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is whatโs best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy,โ the full statement reads.

Despite most of us being very confused and upset by the news the two had decided to go their seperate ways, according to those close to Liam and Miley, the split doesnโt come as a surprise.
โThis split isnโt shocking to people who are actually with them every day,โ a source told PEOPLE yesterday. โAfter they reunited, everyone thought they were this โperfectโ couple, but they still had a lot of issues. Theyโre not on the same page when it comes to a lot of fundamental things that make a relationship work,โ they added. โItโs not surprising at all.โ
Another source told E! Newsthat Miley and Liam โwere drifting apartโ and were โtrying to make it work for months now.โ

What do three beauty editors grill glamazon Elle Ferguson on the minute they have her confined in a small space with no escape? How she looks so damn good all the time, of course. And thankfully, she generously obliged. In this episode of Get Lippy, the Elle Effect founder dished on what it takes to create her signature waves, her tips for achieving the perfect tan, and how her new fitness routine has completely changed her (and no, it wasnโt just about losing weight).
Also: We discuss if those expensive skin gadgets are a) actually doing anything for your skin, and b) worth forking out the big dollars for. Carli compares the new FOREO Luna 3 and Kmartโs $15 silicone cleanser dupe to find out whether or not you can get the same results with cheaper options. And, Sally reveals her latest budget-friendly obsession โ a dual-ended eyeshadow stick.

Whether sheโs stirring up a storm as Betty Cooper or making a statement on the red carpet, Lili Reinhartโs hair rarely ever deviates from her signature sleek, slicked-back ponytail or her perfectly blown-out, beachy waves. But much to our surprise, the Riverdale actressโ hair is curly โ and we mean really curly.
Earlier this week, Reinhart proudly posted a stunning snap to her Instagram story showing off her bouncy ringlets and made sure to let her follows know it was au naturel. โLiterally no curling iron used,โ she captioned her story. โThis is my natural curl, finessed to perfection by @brycescarlett.โ
(Credit: Instagram)
Reinhart has said in the past that she isnโt a fan of her voluminous curls tweeting back May last year: โMy hair never looks good when I try to curl it. I end up looking like the prissy mean girl on a Disney channel show.โ Thereโs no way she still feels this way after having her hair teased to the gods in an โ80s-influenced styleโ and honestly, we couldnโt disagree more.
My hair never looks good when I try to curl it. I end up looking like the prissy mean girl on a Disney channel show.
While we were under the impression that Reinhartโs tresses were naturally straight, she joins the ranks of other celebrities embracing their authentic hair. Stars such as Ariana Grande and Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland recently opted to ditch their long, pin-straight extensions in favour of their natural curls.
So, does this mean weโre going to see Betty rocking curly hair next season? We sure hope so.

Finding a signature scent which is original, captivating and isnโt already worn by every other woman your age is tougher than it sounds. Thanks to the rise of beauty bloggers and social media, even the most under-the-radar brands which are near impossible to find in Australia are quickly overdone, meaning itโs more important than ever to find a classic, timeless perfume without falling for the allure of trends.
Enter Hugo Bossโ The Scent Private Accord, a gourmand sensual, scent which opens with cocoa and notes of sweet tangerine, making you feel like youโre biting into dark chocolate with creamy orange filling by the fire. Notes of coffee and vanilla are also evident, giving the scent more of a mysterious unisex smell than other Boss fragrances: Itโs warm, inviting and moreish and perfectly encapsulates the Boss woman the German brand has been searching for. โBoss is very much seen as a manโs brand,โ creative director Ingo Wilts tells marie claire. โFor 12 months we have been on an internal project to find the Boss woman. She doesnโt want to be dressed in a manโs brand. She is very confident, always very modern and wants to go her own way.โ
(Credit: Hugo Boss)
Since its creation in 1924, Hugo Boss has been synonymous with immaculately tailored menโs suiting, something Wilts is embracing rather than shying away from when it comes to turning his sights on the Boss woman. โWhen you think about a certain British company, also starting with the letter โBโ, you think of trench coats. With Diane von Furstenberg it is the wrap dress that immediately comes to mind,โ Wilts says. โWe have our heritage and it is clearly grounded in tailoring. From that tailoring, we move into skirts [and] dresses.โ
Substantial internal research helped Boss to bring home $4.5 billion in sales in 2018, but Wilts had to look outside of the data and to the downtown galleries of New York to find both inspiration for the latest slow-burn collection and the definition of the Boss woman as a whole. โI was walking through Chelsea, where I live, and seeing all of the women in the galleriesโฆ there was something effortless about their clothing and tailoring,โ Wilts explains, saying the brand now knows exactly who itโs been searching for. โIn understanding her we see the Boss woman as international and we are thinking of the needs of our customer,โ he says. โWe have an eye on all of the continents and how she dresses differently in every country. In New York she is more of a businesswoman. In Europe and Asia there is a different approach to dressing thatโs not as focused on work.โ
(Credit: Hugo Boss)
Just like its new fragrance, the message is clear: trends are one thing but creating classic pieces โ and scents โ thatโll make a woman feel confident and in control is another. โWe see her. She is very sensual and she is successful in her own way. Success for her is different from success for a man. Sometimes men seem to try very hard, but she is effortless and inspiring with her style.โ

Meghan Markle celebrated her 38th birthday on the 4th of August, her first as mother to Archie Harrison and second as part of the British royal family. So what does a Duchess do to celebrate? Eat a carrot cake, of course.
According to Good Morning America, Meghanโs personalised carrot cake was done by London-based Luminary Bakery, which she highlighted in her guest-edited issue of British Vogue.
As well as the three-tiered cake having โHappy Birthday Meghanโ written on top in chocolate icing, it featured orange slices, pumpkin seeds and rosemary garnishes.
Thanks so much to Alice Williams and the awesome team at @LuminaryBakery in London for letting us join them last weekend as they created Duchess Meghanโs beautiful carrot birthday cake๐ @GMA story on the bakery and their incredible work here: https://t.co/1l9Uhww1rrpic.twitter.com/TVvtZhybEx
The bakery, which is in northeast London, is dedicated to empowering women from disadvantaged backgrounds by teaching them how to bake. Meghan highlighted the company as one of her Forces for Change, which she first spoke about in Vogue and has now continued via her and Harryโs official Instagram account. โTo have someone like the Duchess acknowledge us and champion us is incredible,โ Luminary Bakery CEO Alice Williams told GMA. โI think it will open a lot of doors for us. Thereโs so many more women that need opportunities.โ
โWhen I applied for this job I did not expect that Iโd be making a cake for Duchess Meghan Markle,โ baker Caoimhe Bennett said. โThat was pretty crazy and being in Vogue, thatโs amazing.โ
According to royal commentator, Omid Scobie, Meghan celebrated her birthday at her home, Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. The royals reportedly wanted a low-key celebration with the family.

Over the weekend, Kylie Jenner celebrated her 22nd birthday with a lavish holiday with friends and family on a 300-foot superyacht in Italy. The Kylie Cosmetics founder took to Instagram to share photos and videos from the trip, showing off her incredible cake, multiple outfit changes and her extravagant gift from Travis Scott.
Dressed in a pink gown for her first outfit of the night, Kylie showed off her brand new necklace from her musician partner, featuring her Kylie Cosmetics dripping lips logo. E! News estimates the jewellery would have cost anywhere from $375,000 to $500,000.
After posting a photo in her hot pink dress beside a floral arrangement reading โ22โ, the birthday girl changed into another feathered gown, which is thought to be the โwedding dressโ she was seen carrying onto a plane.
As well as her mum, daughter and partner attending, Kylie was joined by Scott Disick, Sofia Richie and her BFF Stassie. โHappy birthday to my twin till the end. I love you in this life and the next,โ Stassie wrote on Instagram underneath a gallery of photos, while Travis called Kylie a โsuperhumanโ in his Instagram tribute. โHappy Bday Wifey every day I watch u grow more into this amazing superhuman every day is the best the day with u here may God continue shine on you. Happy fcking Bday love ya !!!,โ he wrote.

When news of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworthโs split was announced over the weekend, the actor and musician were on opposite sides of the world mending their broken hearts. Liam took off to Australia to spend family time with his older brother, Chris Hemsworth, in Byron Bay, while Miley has been posting photos from a girlโs trip in Italy, sans wedding ring.
Just hours before a rep for Miley confirmed the end of her marriage to Liam, the 26-year-old singer was photographed kissing The Hills star Kaitlynn Carter, who recently announced a divorce of her own earlier this month, ending her one year marriage to Brody Jenner.

With headlines everywhere declaring that lingerie giant Victoriaโs Secret has cancelled its hugely popular Angels runway show, Robyn Lawley has every right to be slightly smug.
The hugely successful โplus-sizeโ model (thatโs a completely normal size 14 thank you very much) famously started a petition last year to encourage the lingerie brand โto be more diverse and inclusive of body shapes and sizes on their runwaysโ.
Aptly titled #WeAreAllAngels, her initiative drew worldwide support and now many are saying the brandโs perceived 180 turnaround is largely due to Lawleyโs passionate persistence.
In the latest edition of โFinding Fearless with marie claireโ podcast, Lawley said she started the initial campaign because she wanted to see real women represented on the VS runways.
Walking for Matteau at Australian Fashion Week.
โEvery year I would say this might be the year that they went down a bit more of a curvy route, or even just a more average size route,โ Lawley said. โThey sell my size, they should show it on the runway. It seems pretty obvious to me.โ
โWhen I started talking about it I knew straight away that [VS Marketing Chief] Ed Razek would have something to say, because he always has something negative to say about plus-size models, trans-models or anyone different. Of course he did. He said, โNo one wants to see that ever on a runway.โ
โYou just hear comments like that and youโre like, โMate, you donโt even know what youโre talking about.โ He has to change the game and get with the times, or theyโre going to be shovelling their own company soon. And from now on it looks like theyโre going to have to come up with a different way of doing it.โ
While the reports of the showโs cancellation are still unconfirmed by Victoriaโs Secret HQ, the companyโs silence on the matter is deafening. But Lawley, in her typical understated manner, has already moved on and has her sights set on an even bigger battle.
Always keeping it real, Robyn posted images of her scars after having a terrifying seizure and falling down the stairs.
Since having her daughter Ripley โ named after Sigourney Weaverโs kickass lead character Ellen Ripley in Aliens โ four years ago, Lawley has been diagnosed with Lupus and suffered a seizure which caused facial injuries. She is committed to beating the incurable disease and has won over a new legion of fans on social media for her honest account of the health setbacks she has endured. Similarly she is seeking an exhausting range of new creative outlets from music production, to cinematography, to documentary maker, to food blogger and of course her new `life missionโ โ saving the planet.
โI think the environment should be on everyoneโs mind,โ Lawley said. โI especially care about getting people back into the dirt and growing their own food. As much as I love the fashion world, I think itโs the eco world that truly motivates me.โ
We may have just found someone who can actually fix this.

The perennial favourite, utility has returned to the runways in the chicest of ways. A multitasking hero, itโs masculine meets feminine in renditions of boilersuits, strong collars and pocket detailing from the likes of Isabel Marant and Sacai this season.
Often a minimalistโs go-to, itโs the kind of investment dressing that doesnโt require too much thought. The result is a casual complexity that creates a sense of effortless appeal.
But what exactly is utility dressing? Introduced by British government in 1941, Utility clothing was labelled civilian clothing 1941 (CC41) with the intention of garments being simple, practical and agreeable-looking. Not to mention made of good material; think quality cottons and wools. No superfluous decoration was allowed.
Key features of the trend? Itโs all in the details โ pockets, pleats, buttons and stitching all work together to elevate a colour palette of sandy neutrals and army tones.
For style inspiration; think Meryl Streep in Out of Africa or Lauren Dern in Jurassic Park. For real life looks, turn to street style stars Pernille Teisbaek or Vanessa Hong who champion the utilitarian aesthetic.
For your own dose of safari sophistication, shop our picks of the utility-inspired pieces that will keep up-to-date on the fashion frontline.

Thereโs no denying Prince Harry makes headlines. From his marriage to Meghan Markle, now formally the Duchess of Sussex, to his sweet newborn son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, the 34-year-old royal is one of the most talked-about people on the planet.
Watch below: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle release first pictures of Archieโs christening.
Despite almost everything Harry does making viral news, the royal made headlines this week for a different reason and itโs all to do with his father, Prince Charles.
The Duke of York posted a photo to his Instagram account this week to commemorate the Queen Motherโs birthday, with the snap being a black and white throwback shot of the Queen Mother laughing alongside Prince Charles, Princess Anne and the Duke himself, Prince Andrew.
โIn 1960, to celebrate [the Queen Motherโs] 60th Birthday, this photo was taken at Clarence House, and features a 6-month-old Prince Andrew sitting on her knee, Prince Charles, Princess Anne and a Corgi,โ the caption reads. โUntil the accession of Prince Albert, The Duke of York as King George VI in 1936, Queen Elizabeth was The Duchess of York.โ
But it wasnโt the caption that got people talking instead it was Prince Charles, who commenters were quick to point out looked the spitting image of a young Prince Harry.
โWow. I see Prince Harry in Charlesโฆamazingโ, commented one user, while another posted: โThat is Prince Harryโs twin. This could be Prince Harry, he looks just like his dad.โ
This isnโt the first time a royal photograph has gone viral for showing just how alike Harry and Charles are.

American model Dilone is one to watch โ the bubbly, relatable and edgy 25-year-old is at the top of her game, and for good reason. She has walked some of the worldโs most iconic runways and fronted some of the biggest campaigns a model can. The Long Island native began modelling in 2012 and landed the Marc Jacobs AW16 campaign. She went on to walk more than 40 Fashion Week shows that season alone and followed it up with a coveted spot in the Victoriaโs Secret Fashion Show. Work has been rolling ever since โ from international covers to beauty campaigns, and most recently, as the star of David Jones SS19 campaign.
marie claire sat down with Dilone ahead of the David Jones Spring Collection Launch, chatting about everything from individual style to the VS show.
You have a very distinct personal style โ how do you adapt current trends to fit that style? Whatโs your advice to those trying to create a unique style?
Well, I actually love exploring. I feel like my style has evolved so much over the years, and especially being in the fashion industry now, my exploring is only getting better โ so Iโm more willing to try new things. I think for the most part I really like comfort and cool and laid back and an androgynous feel. Thatโs sort of very general when I say that because there is so much you can do with that.
I think people need to create their own style. I would say explore and know our identities are created when we start creating them ourselves. I grew up in Long Island and saw the same kind of thing over and over again and then when I moved to the city and I branched out I got into the fashion industry and was like oh my gosh thereโs so much more to fashion and you can try all these different things. Itโs a form of expression so one day you might be feeling one way and the next another, and I would say have fun with that.
What are your fashion predictions for spring?
The 70s!
Do you have any Australian designers that you love?
I like Bassike clothes a lot because itโs very much up my alley. And I love Toni Matiฤevski if you want to go even more elegant and chic โ I love the structure! I wore this gorgeous dress for the David Jones campaign and it was just absolutely gorgeous.
Youโve recently taken a break from social media. What was the reason behind that decision?
The reason behind that was because I am doing so many things at the moment outside of modelling and it really needs my focus and my attention. Iโm doing a forty-day yoga and meditation retreat, and I wanted to build back focus and get my mind right, and it helps a lot, I really enjoy it. I will say Iโm very much out of the loop with things, Iโll be back soon.
Would you recommend a social media detox to others?
I really would, yeah. I really would, because you start to be a little bit more present and not even a little bit, a lot more present.
Obviously, the Victoriaโs Secret Show was a major part of your career journey. How does the news of the showโs reported cancellation feel?

Jessica Gomes is the definition of a powerhouse. Not only is the 34-year-old model, actress and David Jones ambassador at the top of her career game, sheโs also founded a successful beauty brand. Equal Beauty is a fragrance-free line which focuses above all on hydration and protection and takes things back to the basics.
marie claire sat down with Jess ahead of the David Jones Spring Collection Launch to chat all things Equal beauty, what it takes to build a brand and her advice to women looking to do the same.
Letโs talk about Equal Beauty. What inspired you to create your own skincare line?
I obviously travel a lot for my career and I also spent a lot of time in Korea as well, so I think discovering all the Korean beauty and then also travelling kind of made me decide to create Equal Beauty. I wanted to do something that was easy to travel with. I also wanted to create something that Australians could have products with Korean beauty behind it, and so thatโs what inspired me to start. I wanted to bring back the Korean technology that I had discovered to Australia, with Australian ingredients too.
The brand is obviously incredibly successful, but what has been the biggest challenge behind-the-scenes?
Well, there are lots of challenges, I have challenges with my business on the daily. The hustles and just dealing with, you know, itโs pretty much always problem solving โ youโre constantly problem-solving on how to keep moving forward. So itโs been a lot of blood, sweat and tears but I love it and Iโm so proud of my brand. I have a great team of people working with me and itโs been super satisfying and youโre just constantly learning every day on how to deal with people. Youโre constantly talking about numbers, budgeting, ingredients. Thereโs also all the fun creative stuff like the technology and the creativity side of it is really exciting, but then obviously there is a business side as well, which can be quite difficult sometimes.
Dilone, Victoria Lee and Jessica Gomes
What would be your advice to other women out there wanting to start their own company?
I think just go for it. At the end of the day, you may as well just give it a shot because the worst thing that can happen is you fail but then youโll be wondering if I should have done it or not. So I just think go for it, start it. If its something that drives you and youโre passionate about it โ do it, and have fun with it. I think that you just keep learning every day and Equal Beauty for me has been the biggest lesson for me, for my life, because itโs really taught me a lot about strength and being resourceful and Iโve learnt so much about business and technology and brands and product and all of that and marketing and Iโve met so many great people, so I think it really is about the journey and not too much looking at the end goal. I know that itโs good to look at the end goal but itโs also good to just live in the present moment and enjoy the process of it all.
Growing up in Australia, you understand how iconic David Jones is. How does it feel to have Equal Beauty backed by such an iconic store?
Itโs amazing, I canโt believe it. Itโs an incredible feat for me and I just feel so honoured that DavidJones is supporting my brand and supporting my business and itโs been a huge dream of mine to have my own products in-store, so itโs been really wonderful.
You advocate a minimalist beauty routine โ what are your crucial steps?
Exfoliating, cleansing and hydrating the skin in a proper way. I just love my cleansing cloth so much because I think itโs so important to exfoliate and cleanse the skin, but also hydrating. I really love hyaluronic acid and Vitamin C. I love serums because they really penetrate the skin and hydrate and I think theyโre really important to any skincare regime. And then obviously an SPF, so protecting your skin, protecting your skin from the sun, from pollution. I have a super mist spray which protects you from pollution and the outside environment.
What are the steps you donโt follow?
I think, especially in Asia, it used to be about the thirteen-step routine, which was a lot of layers. But I think now women do want to have something a bit more minimal, pulled back and easier and also not too time-consuming, so I think less is more when it comes to skincare. Iโm not a fan of heavily fragranced products and heavily fragranced rich creams Iโm not so in to.
What is the most essential item in your beauty bag?
I would say my Equal Beauty cleansing cloths for sure, and I would also say the Chanel hand cream, itโs called La Creme Main. Itโs not too perfume-y but I just like it. Sometimes my hands get dry and itโs really nice and you can travel with it, itโs like a little round thing and itโs great.

Wellness is a word that has recently become a part of the everyday vernacular. Itโs used in reference to everything from jade face rollers to practising mindfulness. However, this particular wellness trend is different from all the rest, because itโs all about doing absolutely nothing.
What is it?
Niksen is a Dutch conceptthat literally translates to โnothingโ. While the concept was initially regarded as being negative, in a world where people are struggling to disconnect from work and are constantly hustling to achieve that โdreamโ job, the concept of doing nothing has now picked up traction and gained popularity.
Niksen is now a wellness trend that encourages people to allocate time to do nothing. The concept advocates being idle, achieving nothing or doing something that has no use โ except for your enjoyment of doing it. That might be lying in bed, listening to music or even just bingeing the latest Netflix original.
At its core, niksen is all about doing something without an end goal. Itโs about actively choosing to do something that has no purpose. Itโs about doing something purely for the joy of it.
(Credit: Getty)
Whatโs the point of Niksen?
Wellness trends all have one thing in common: doing something to achieve an end goal. The Danish trend โHyggeโ was all about creating a cosy retreat at home, and the Swedish trend โLagomโ was all about decluttering to live with just what you need, and the Finnish concept Pantsdrunk was all about being comfortable and drinking wine in your underwear to relieve stress. Niksen is the antithesis to these active concepts and gives you permission to do nothing.
What are the benefits of Niksen?
The biggestbenefit of niksenis that by allowing ourselves to take the time to disconnect from the world, release ourselves from expectation and goals, we allow ourselves to truly relax and recharge. It also allows us to reconnect with activities that bring you joy, and process difficult thoughts or emotions positively.

The current statistics around ovarian cancer are frightening. Every year, more than 1600 Australia women are diagnosed, and the insidious disease claims more than 1000 lives every year.
The Ovarian Cancer Research Foundationโs (OCRF) main message is simple: #ResearchIsKey. Unlike other cancers, there is currently no early detection test for ovarian cancer (despite what many women believe, a pap smear doesnโt detect it). Because the symptoms are easily missed, ovarian cancer strikes without warning โ and when it does, itโs usually advanced.
The key to giving women with ovarian cancer a better long-term outlook is an early detection test, which OCRF is committed to finding through their research. The star-studded guest list, which comprised of Australian celebrities, fashion designers and community leaders, gathered in Sydney to witness the inspiring panel of speakers comprised of; OCRF leading research scientist Dr Kristine Warton, former Foreign Minister and OCRF ambassador Julie Bishop and OCRF ambassador Asher Keddie. The discussion was led by InStyle acting editor Alex Noonan and marie claire editor Nicky Brigger.

โI wonโt speak to the statistics any more than weโve already heard this morning because they are frightening and we all feel the same way. First and foremost I will admit my ignorance, I had absolutely no idea โ that one woman every eight hours in this country falls victim to Ovarian Cancer โ that flawed me. I was really shocked.
โIt was an easy choice for me to make and I thought, โyou know what this an opportunity to create a bigger discussion about this because no-one was talking about it,'โ said Keddie.

Thursdayโs luncheon coincides with the fifth anniversary of Georg Jensenโs partnership with the OCRF. To support the organisationโs life-changing work, Georg Jensen has produced the Mercy Heart pendant necklace in sterling silver and 18-karat gold. For every silver pendant purchased, the brand will donate $50 to OCRF; for every gold pendant, $150 will be donated. To say thank you, all the guests were gifted a silver pendant.
Grandiflora created stunning floral arrangements featuring burgundy Magnolias with burnt orange Cymbidium orchards in Georg Jensen Vases. Further highlighting the key message of #ResearchIsKey guests sat for portraits wearing Georg Jensenโs Mercy Heart Pendant.

Arguably the most stylish week of the fashion month calendar, Copenhagen Fashion Week, has kicked off and the Scandi street style set have followed suit. Think printed summer dresses, baggy power suits and unexpected pops of colour, from accessories all the way to nail polish.

Princess Charlotte has had her fair share of cheeky moments. Who could forget the time she told off photographers that werenโt invited to Prince Louisโ christening. Now, the sassy four-year-old has struck again while accompanying family at The Kingโs Cup Regatta.
After the sailing race, mum Kate Middleton goaded her to wave to onlookers, but Charlotte had something else in mind. She peered out from the window and stuck her tongue out at the crowd, leaving mum Kate having a minor freakout.
Watch the whole moment play out in the video below.
This video file cannot be played.(Error Code: 102400)
Charlotte has already shown she can nail the perfect royal wave. She previously stole the show at events like Trooping the Colour and Prince Harry and Meghan Markleโs royal wedding with a flawless royal wave.
Charlotte was later joined by her older brother, Prince George.

Just when you thought Prince George couldnโt get any cuter, Englandโs six-year-old future king, who also happens to be missing his two front teeth, donned a sailorโs hat.
On Thursday, Prince George and Princess Charlotte were watching their parents go head to head during an inaugural event for the Kingโs Cup sailing race in Cowes, England, for which the siblings dressed the part: George in a striped white and navy polo and Charlotte in a white and blue striped dress. Later, George popped on a captainโs hat to really finish off the nautical look.
George and Charlotteโs granddad, Michael Middleton, also attended the family outing, however, Prince Louis opted out. While George was no doubt the star of the show, Charlotte poking her tongue out at those beneath her is also quite an iconic act.
Whatโs cuter than Prince George with missing teeth and a sailorโs hat? Nothing, thatโs what.

Sorry to break it to you, but another Hollywood heartthrob is off the market. Jake Gyllenhaal has quietly been dating French model Jeanne Cadieu for the past eight months โ since at least December โ and the couple is now starting to get serious.
23-year-old Cadieu has reportedly now met her actor beauโs family with Page Six reporting that the pair took a trip to Marthaโs Vineyard together. Cadieu has also attended previews of Gyllenhaal and Tom Sturridgeโs Broadway play Sea Wall/A Life, as well as the Spider-Man: Far From Home premiere in June and both Gyllenhaal and Cadieu attended a Cartier party together in Paris back in April.
Despite the coupleโs 15 year age gap (Gyllenhaal is 38), sources told Us Weekly in December that โJeanne is very mature for her ageโ and that โShe and Jake really took things slow, but are now pretty serious.โ
The private couple hasnโt yet made their romance Instagram official, in fact, they donโt even follow each other on the social media platform.
Recently, Gyllenhaal opened up about wanting to become a father one day. Speaking about his new broadway play with Willie Geist on Sunday TODAY, he said, โItโs really actually about two fathers and about, for my character, someone whoโs just about to become a fatherโฆ Iโve learned โ you know, I am not a father. I do hope to be a father one day.โ

When it comes to defining the most popular โ90s hairstyles, itโs impossible to go past the ultimate beauty icons of the decade. Namely, Alicia Silverstone, Gwen Stefani and Jennifer Aniston. Pixie crops, half-upupdos pinned with a slate of butterfly clips and pigtails were all donned on high rotation. Suffice to say, these throwbackhairdos are all about experimentation. Nonetheless, there was one hairstyle that reigned supreme as the ultimate โ90s look *drumroll, please* the Rachel.
Other โ90shair trendshave made a full-fledged comeback โ seen on it girls, the fashion week runways and thered carpetโhair accessories, a prime example.

Saturn firmly set at the top of your solar chart brings even more celestial blessings this year. The old adage about โbeing in the right place at the right timeโ rings true โ and your time is now. Past frustration was largely caused by others imposing their will and undermining your confidence. This year, youโre well placed to resume control of difficult situations and regain prosperity. Sure, thereโll be changes of direction โ but stay alert to any potential problems and youโll always stay one step ahead. In romance, youโre equally brilliant. Grab that loving feeling and do something enjoyable with it, Leo.
Aries (March 21 โ April 20)
Best Day: Saturday 10th
Arm yourself against a barrage of changes. Youโre a versatile soul, but when overloaded โ you soon reach burnout. Most of your stress is self-imposed, so donโt be too proud to ask for help. Thankfully, the planets promise more soon. Watch your pennies, though, as the cosmos seems intent on causing monetary mischief.
Taurus (April 21 โ May 20)
Best Day: Friday 9th
While others are happy to socialise this week, you seem more content to raise the drawbridge on that castle you call home. This doesnโt mean being alone. Itโs a fair bet youโll enjoy spending time with favourite friends and family; and thereโs likely to be a surprise or two. Later in the week, you may bump into an old lover or friend.
Gemini (May 21 โ June 21)
Best Day: Monday 12th
Almost everything has its upside โ which is well worth remembering this week. The real problem is that you feel a tad lost or vulnerable, without knowing why. When life becomes this confusing, it can help to put some distance between you and others. Sit quietly, and come to terms with a few home truths. For starters โ not everyone is trustworthy.
Cancer (June 22 โ July 22)
Best Day: Sunday 11th
The week emphasises highly-strung Cancer sensitivity and emotion. Itโs a time when you may choose to hide under the doona, rather than face troubling emotions. At the best of times, you donโt like to lose control of conflict or arguments. Hardly surprising, then, if you choose to withdraw into your own safe shell. Good tactic.
Leo (July 23 โ August 23)
Best Day: Tuesday 13th
Money becomes more abundant this week, although thereโs the temptation to overspend. But whatโs life for, if not to enjoy? Youโll sense a growing social camaraderie and will want to be part of it. With optimism on side, nothing feels out of your reach. Blessed with more confidence and power, you can turn most situations to your advantage.
Virgo (August 24 โ September 22)
Best Day: Friday 9th
Earthy Virgos can be slow in romance, but dynamite once ignited! Should deeper desires beg for satisfaction, seize the moment and set out on a journey of sensual discovery โ maybe a secret love, possibly with a touch of scandal. At work, too, you put in some extra hours. Just try not to overdo it by burning the candle at both ends.
Libra (September 23 โ October 23)
Best Day: Thursday 15th
This week friendships win over intimacy, but donโt assume that love has left you off the guest list. The pace of social events picks up, but without the negativity of troubled emotions. Mars fires up new hopes concerning work. If this results in increased authority, you wonโt mind. When placed in charge, youโre very much in your element.
Scorpio (October 24 โ November 22)
Best Day: Sunday 11th
A fairly courageous week for Scorpios, especially when it comes to new ventures. If youโre focused and properly funded, youโre on the way towards success. But thereโs still risk involved โ so be sure you can afford the gamble. Should plans be delayed by a lack of capital, donโt let this ruin a potentially fun time ahead. Not everything costs.
Sagittarius (November 23 โ December 21)
Best Day: Tuesday 13th
Show others just how determined you are to enjoy life. Saturn may still try to douse enthusiasm but even lifeโs sterner lessons should work in your favour. Itโs true what they say, that hardships can often be blessings in disguise. Be nourished by the courage of your own spirit. And you shouldnโt rule out the possibility of travel.
Capricorn (December 22 โ January 20)
Best Day: Thursday 15th
If anyoneโs capable of talking themselves into profit this week, itโs you. And during a time when money takes priority, youโll be relying on the gift of the gab. Meanwhile, Mars swivels his hips rather provocatively, pretty well ensuring rumpled sheets. And what does it matter if itโs love or lust? This week affords you the courage to be yourself, with little apology.
Aquarius (January 21 โ February 18)
Best Day: Wednesday 14th
A phase of your life is coming to a close, so prepare for disruption. Relationships built on sand can expect some erosion. Aquarian discontent could even extend to clandestine meetings. Singles, too, may prefer a secret dalliance. Finances feature strongly, as does the need to chase your professional dreams. An interesting week ahead.
Pisces (February 19 โ March 20)
Best Day: Saturday 10th
Your open and trusting attitude has just had a smack on the wrist. Youโve not been as careful as usual, and an abusive element has possibly just taken you for a ride. This need not, however, lead to major problems. Itโs also a week for close friendships. What can you hope for? Unconditional support.

The Bachelor Australiaโs third episode saw the battle of all time: the new girls vs. the old girls.
Watch below: Matt Agnew kisses 17 girls in the new promo.
The episode starts with Matt Agnew taking Ellie to Flemington Race Course after she cashed in her golden ticket. They enjoy a romantic horse carriage ride and enjoy a romantic kiss under candlelight. Later, Osher comes bearing good news โ a group date! The girls are broken up into teams of two (obviously again, old vs. new) to play a game of touch AFL.
The old girls come out victorious, and Nichole and Monique have fuelled their rivalry even further. Nichole scores some alone time with Matt and gets a rose, but comes out of the date without a kiss claiming sheโs โleaving him wanting moreโ.
Next, another single date is up for grabs with the description being a girl who likes โadventureโ. Monique and Nichole once again battle it out, with Monique this time nabbing the date.
Below, the best reactions to Episode Three of The Bachelor.
I could legit watch Mary try to play sport and commentator herself doing it all day long โ I was unaware this show was a comedy but I was definitely laughing at her laughing at herself. Well played girl!! #TheBachelorAU

Since Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin โconsciously uncoupledโ in 2014, the actress and musician have been the definition of ex goals. From making statements about loving each other to family holidays with their new partners, these two are proof itโs possible to continue a friendship after a divorce.
Just this week, it was reported that Martin had gotten back together with his girlfriend of two years, Fifty Shades of Grey actress Dakota Johnson, and now itโs been revealed that Paltrow played a big part in the coupleโs reconciliation.
After the two went their separate ways in June, Paltrow decided to play matchmaker. โGwyneth is the one who pushed them to do it,โ a source told Us Weekly.
Johnson and Martinโs renewed romance made headlines last week after they were spotted together two nights in a row. A source told E!that the couple, who were together for two years before ending their relationship in June, is โplanning to spend more time together later this summer.โ

Two weeks after it was reported that Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart had ended their relationship of two years, Cole has broken his silence on whatโs really going on. Of course, weโve already had both him and Lili troll us by making jokes about โreliable sourcesโ and Liliโs love poem for Cole on his birthday, but this is the first time either of them has seriously spoken about the manic media attention recently.
While at Varietyโs Power of Young Hollywood issue party, Entertainment Tonight asked the actor whether he was annoyed by the reports. โIncredibly,โ he joked, before getting more serious: โNo, I donโt care. Thatโs the nature of our industry. I think you have to poke fun of it a little bit. Itโs kind of something you sign up for, but as long as can keep it light and fun, itโs all good.โ
Cole also addressed whether he was planning on writing Lili a poem on her birthday, as she did for his three days ago. โIโm not a poet. I do not write. Iโll figure out something beautiful,โ he said.
In the coupleโs recent joint magazine cover for W, Lili revealed that it was Cole who initially encouraged her to keep their relationship away from the spotlight. โAt first, I didnโt want things private,โ Reinhart said.
โNow that Iโm X amount of years in, I do appreciate the privacy we have, that heโs encouraged me to take. No one knows how long weโve been together, and no one will until weโre ready to say it. No one knows how we fell in love, except for our close friends and us. Itโs really special.โ

Itโs been a tumultuous few weeks for Victoriaโs Secret. After Australian model Shanina Shaik revealed the brandโs annual runway show was cancelled for 2019, it was announced that chief marketing officer, Ed Razek, had stepped down from his position. Now, multiple high profile models have co-signed an open letter to the US lingerie label, asking it to take action to ensure the safety of the models who work with them.
The Model Alliance, an organisation founded by ex-high fashion model Sara Ziff, wrote an open letter to CEO John Mehas, calling for Victoriaโs Secret to sign the Model Allianceโs RESPECT Program in the wake of #MeToo and the recent sex trafficking charges against billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who allegedly had ties to the brand.
โWe are writing today to express our concern for the safety and wellbeing of the models and young women who aspire to model for Victoriaโs Secret,โ the letter reads in part. โIn the past few weeks, we have heard numerous allegations of sexual assault, alleged rape, and sex trafficking of models and aspiring models. While these allegations may not have been aimed at Victoriaโs Secret directly, it is clear that your company has a crucial role to play in remedying the situation.โ
โFrom the headlines about L Brands CEO Leslie Wexnerโs close friend and associate, Jeffrey Epstein, to the allegations of sexual misconduct by photographers Timur Emek, David Bellemere, and Greg Kadel, it is deeply disturbing that these men appear to have leveraged their working relationships with Victoriaโs Secret to lure and abuse vulnerable girls,โ the letter continues.
Co-signers include Christy Turlington, Gemma Ward, Robyn Lawley, ex-Victoriaโs Secret Angel Doutzen Kroes and Timeโs Up โ the organisation founded by Hollywood celebrities in the wake of the allegations against Harvey Weinstein.
Victoriaโs Secret is yet to publicly respond to the letter.

So you binge-watched season two of The Crown the week it was released? We get you. Which is why weโve compiled every single titbit the producers have let slip about season three โ from who will play the key characters (which are all being recast) to the likely plot outlines. Let the countdown commence.
Watch the first look trailer below:
Airdate
Hypableis reportingThe Crown Season 3 will premiere globally on Netflix on Sunday, November 17, citing a since-deleted Entertainment Weekly article breaking the news. This tracks with previous reports about the new season; Tobias Menzies, who portrays Prince Philip in the third season, revealed the show will return in November while speaking on Jo Goodโs BBC show.
Deadline reported in April that Netflix revealed to investors that the new season would premiere after July 1, 2019. Additionally, Erin Doherty, who will play Princess Anne in Seasons 3 and 4, told the Irish Times that she thinks the new season will be released in the fall.
We have two The Crown producers confirming this on record. One, Susanne Mackie, revealed that the beginnings of Camilla Parker Bowles and Prince Charlesโ relationship will be covered in season three: โPeter is already talking about the most wonderful things,โ she said at the BFI & Radio Times Festival in London, Harperโs Bazaar UK reports. โWe start meeting Camilla Parker Bowles in season three.โ The pair first met at a polo match in 1971, six years before Prince Charles met Princess Diana.
The showโs historian, Robert Lacey, has also let slip some of the new season subject matter, telling Town & Country that the break down of Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdonโs marriage will be a key focus. โIn season three, without giving anything away โ itโs on the record, itโs history โ weโll see the breakup of this extraordinary marriage between Margaret and Snowdon,โ he revealed.
Cast
Acclaimed British actress Olivia Colman will play Queen Elizabeth II in the next phase of her life, replacing Claire Foy. โI just love her,โ Digital Spy reports Foy as saying. โI admire her so much and the idea that we sort of will be doing the same job but not actually working together is just enough, Iโm honoured by that.โ

The Crownโs creator Peter Morgan explained his decision to recast key members to Variety, saying, โYou canโt ask someone to act middle-aged. Someone has to bring their own fatigue to it. The feelings we all have as 50-year-olds are different to the feelings we all have as 30-year-olds.โ
A young Prince Charles (think aged 16-22) will appear in season three, played by British actor Josh OโConnor. 27-year-old OโConnor has starred in The Durrells, Peaky Blinders, Doctor Who and Godโs Own Country.
Tobias Menzies has been cast to play Prince Philip in seasonโs three and four of the hit Netflix series. Youโll remember him as Edmure Tully on Game of Thrones and from playing seriesโ baddie Johnathan Randall in the popular Outlander series.
In early January 2018, the Evening Standard reported Helena Bonham Carter was โall but confirmedโ to take over the role of Princess Margaret from Vanessa Kirby for Seasons 3 and 4 of The Crown. On May 3, Netflix confirmed the news with a statement from Bonham Carter: โIโm not sure which Iโm more terrified aboutโdoing justice to the real Princess Margaret or following in the shoes of Vanessa Kirby. The only thing I can guarantee is that Iโll be shorter than Vanessa.โ
Producers have confirmed that a young Princess Diana will appear by the final episodes of season three, before becoming the showโs star in seasons four and five. Although season five is yet to be made official, Netflix content chief Ted Sarandos has told The Hollywood Reporter that their current plan is to make six seasons of the hit show, spanning the entirety of the Queenโs life.
That said, theyโre yet to work out how to tackle Princess Dianaโs tumultuous life. โThe Diana stuffโฆI havenโt figured out what Iโm going to do with her if I ever get that far,โ Morgan toldVanity Fairin December 2017.

Changing an iconic royal family heirloom isnโt uncommon. In fact, royals like Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle regularly step out in redesigned or reimagined pieces from the royal collection. As a lot of pieces of jewellery have been passed down the royal family for decades, itโs natural than whoever is wearing them might want to put their own stamp to it or make it look more modern.
Camilla Parker Bowles is the latest royal to do just that, redesigning a necklace that once belonged to Princess Diana. The diamond and emerald necklace was said to be a wedding gift from the Queen Mother, and the Princess was seen wearing it, with its matching earrings, to a gala performance in Austria in 1986.
Family heirlooms technically belong to the Queen, and so some of Princess Dianaโs jewellery went back to the crown after her death, which included this set. It is then customary for them to be gifted to other members of the family, such as the Duchess of Cornwall.
She decided to turn the pendant part of the necklace into a brooch, which she was photographed wearing at an event celebrating Prince Charlesโ 50th anniversary as Prince of Wales.
In her will, Princess Diana wrote, โI would like to allocate all my jewellery to the share to be held by my sons, so that their wives may, in due course, have it or use it. I leave the exact division of the jewellery to your discretion.โ

According to E! News, the 22-year-old model and 29-year-old musician have gone their separate ways with a source telling the site, โBella and Abel have split.โ
According to the source, โdistanceโ and their busy careers were major factors in the split. โThey are in different places right now, physically and mentally,โ the source said. โBella is prepping for her fashion week commitments and Abel is working on his music and his upcoming acting debut.โ
The coupleโs busy work schedules reportedly meant they were often at home at โopposite timesโ and because of trying to make the distance work, the source said they have โbeen arguing a lot recently.โ
As for whether thereโs any future there, the insider says Bella and The Weeknd hope they can reconcile again in the future. โThey hope to get back together at one point but for now are focusing on themselves and their projects,โ they said.
Bella is currently doing what any woman should post-break up: spending quality time with her girlfriends while on holiday in Greece.

Despite shutting down her lifestyle website The Tig ahead of officially joining the British royal family, Meghan Markle hasnโt let her love of writing fall by the wayside. From releasing a cookbook to guest-editing the September issue of British Vogue, the Duchess of Sussex has made sure she incorporates her pre-royal passions into her new role. While sheโs still officially on maternity leave, that hasnโt stopped Meghan from continuing her work with charities. Just last week it was announced she is creating a fashion line with proceeds going to one of her patronages, the womenโs charity Smart Works, and now it appears the 38-year-old is writing a childrenโs book.
According to the Sunday Times, Meghan may be writing a book inspired by the two dogs she shares with Prince Harry โ a beagle named Guy, who moved from Toronto to the U.K. with her and the coupleโs new dog, whose name (annoyinly) hasnโt been shared with the public. Meghan also has a third dog called Bogart, a Labrador-German Shepherd mix, who couldnโt travel with her to London due to his health and stayed behind with friends in Canada.
Meghanโs book idea likely sparked from her role as patron of Mayhew, a U.K. animal shelter. โAs a proud rescue dog owner, I know from personal experience the joy that adopting an animal into your home can bring,โ she wrote in an essay for Mayhew earlier this year. โThe choice to adopt a pet is a big decision that comes with much responsibility but infinite return on investment. It will undoubtedly change your life.โ

If you ever wondered what Meghan Markleโs life was like before she married Prince Harry, let it be known that the 38-year-old former actress lived in a Los Angeles home fit for a future Duchess. The colonial-style house in Hancock Park, an affluent suburb of the city where Meghan used to live, is currently for sale, which means we can see inside the four bedroom, three bathroom residence.
The house is currently listed for $1.8 million ($2.6 million AUD) on the website Homes.com and the real estate site isnโt shying away from letting people know that a royal used to live there. Other than the listingโs title being โLive like a Royal,โ there are multiple references to Meghan, such as that the natural hardwood flooring โinvites you to move from room to room as gracefully as a duchess.โ Thatโs it, weโre sold.
(Credit: Homes.com)
The site also reveals that all three bedrooms have ensuites, one of which is Jack-and-Jill style, and that the house is โflooded with natural light from french doors that lead to the outdoor entertaining areaโ and โthe kitchenโs allure lies with its charming cosiness.โ
If youโre ready to pack up and move to Meghanโs former abode, check out the full listing here. If Kate and Wills are more your cup of tea, youโre also in luck: you could be their new neighbours in Norfolk because the house next door is currently up for rent.
Weโre in royal real estate heaven.

Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes have only been publicly dating for a few weeks (and by that we mean holding hands and making out in public), but already the 22-year-old singer is opening up about falling in love and how much Mendes means to her.
Speaking to Variety, the former Fifth Harmony member said that last Januray, when she released her first solo album, she was in a different place romantically and had โcrushes from afar.โ Now, as she writes new music, she says she is in love. โFalling in love is like an infinite amount of levels and layers and angles,โ she told the publication.
โI fell in love and just opened up. Everything was written in present moment,โ she continued. Though Cabello didnโt mention Mendes by name, she did mention her boyfriend later when discussing how their duet โSeรฑoritaโ came about.
โIโve known Shawn for such a long time, and itโs so much fun getting to work and do things with somebody who means a lot to you,โ she said of the song, which is rumoured to have kicked off their romance.
On dating and living in the spotlight, Cabello said she feels really uncomfortable when she sees photos of herself on the internet that she didnโt know were taken. โBecause Iโve been doing this for such a long time, I forget that I am quote-unquote famous or that people are looking at me,โ she said. โIt makes me insanely uncomfortable to see pictures of me that I didnโt know were taken. I honestly hate it. I donโt want to live like a celebrity and have to look perfect every time I step out of my house. I ignore it as much as possible. If Iโm going to look like sh*t that day and cameras are in my face, I donโt care because I choose being human and normal.โ

The three qualities that got me where I am today: Stubbornness, playfulness and strategic thinking. Also, good fortune, but Iโm not sure thatโs a quality.
Moment I felt Iโd made it: When so many people loved [my 1993 film] True Romance, even though it was a box-office flop.
Most agonising career decision Iโve ever made: I turned down [1989 film] Last Exit to Brooklyn because I was pregnant.
Change Iโd like to see in my industry: More inclusive casting and above-the-line positions for men and women of colour and all classes of people who are discriminated against. I feel like our stories are limited because of our lack of representation, and thatโs unfortunate for art.
Last thing you binge-watched? [American comedy series] Baskets [starring Zach Galifianakis].
Movie with the greatest ending:Sunrise [from 1927], directed by F.W. Murnau.
On my bucket list: Morocco.
Song Iโd want played at my funeral: โCosmic Dancer,โ by T. Rex.
Food Iโm not ashamed to admit I love: McDonaldโs French fries.
If I could live in a foreign country, it would be: Greece.
One thing Iโm exceptionally good at: Napping.
One thing Iโm epically bad at: Spelling.
Superhero power Iโd want to have: Mind control.
The beauty essential youโd have to pry out of my cold, dead hands: Coconut oil. And I love my friend Tara Smithโs Feed the Root, which is a tingly peppermint shampoo.
The three qualities I thought I wanted in a partner: Honesty, humour, intelligence.
The three qualities I know now matter: Honesty, humour, intelligence.
Advice to a woman with a broken heart: Go easy on yourself and take your time to heal. Also, remember that something better is waiting.

The small hatchback has come of age. I feel like itโs grown up from being that car you got when you went to uni, and has graduated to the car you get even when you have a family. Because theyโre not so small anymore. Take this Mercedes A250 for example. I thought it was going to be one of those weeks where I had to squash the family in the car, but not so.
It looks pretty fabulous. From the outside and especially in this colour (itโs Iridium Silver Metallic and will cost an extra $1190), it reminds me of liquid mercury. All silver and fluid with long curves and smooth lines, no sharp edges. Itโs very elegant in design and inside is just as impressive.
You have your choice of Mercedesโ own multimedia system which has a built in sat nav and even itโs own version of Siri, or Apple Carplay or Android Auto, so you can choose which to use. The Mercedes system is good enough to use full time but if youโre used to using your phone then Carplay or Auto make it an easy tech decision. There is also a load of advanced safety equipment like auto emergency braking and active lane keep assist.

In case you didnโt get the memo, itโs no longer taboo to stick your fingers into testers and have a play around. Itโs not even a bad thing to use in-store samples to update your office make-up for a night out after work. In fact, if you want to walk into a beauty retailer with a bare face and leave with a full face of make-up, thatโs now deemed OK.
Beauty has always been there to make us feel better, whether thatโs a weekly manicure, a monthly facial or buying a lipstick from the pharmacist to perk us up on our way home.
But these days, especially when it comes to product names, packaging and even formulations and application, things have gone from pleasurable to a seriously good time.
And itโs not just the brands inciting the party vibes โ in recent years, retailers are encouraging us to get in store, tuck in and play.
IN THE PLAYGROUND
The beauty floor was once a hallowed ground of immaculate, white-coated women and men, who were both revered and anxiety inducing lest they encourage us to buy more than our credit card allowed. But these days, even high-end department stores are taking down the physical and emotional barriers, and making trialling beauty products easy, even if you donโt want to buy right away.
One retailer taking the fun stakes to new heights is Mecca. In 2018, the beauty emporium created Meccaland, an interactive Melbourne-based beauty carnival where its customers were encouraged to interact with its products. โWe created Meccaland because we wanted our highly engaged community to play in the ultimate beauty playground,โ says Jo Horgan, founder of Mecca. โBeauty is fun, and we wanted to showcase our brands and our products in a really interactive, colourful and crazy space.โ
This year, Meccaland returned โ this time to Sydney โ with an even bigger bang. Ticket holders were not only able to feast on nearly inexhaustible amounts of make-up, skincare and haircare, they were also able to channel their inner kid on a Ferris wheel, a teacup ride, a seesaw, monkey bars and even a wind machine.
And beauty fans flocked to join the party. โWe have seen the obvious and growing shift towards creating experiences to retail a product versus the traditional means of simply displaying a product,โ says Horgan. โOnce you become comfortable to play, you become more comfortable to experiment.โ
MeccalandMeccalandMeccaland
Sephora is another beauty retailer designed to be more carnival than beauty floor. Since launching in Australia in 2014, the emporium has helped turn the beauty landscape in Australia on its head. Doing away with the beauty floor and the watchful eye of counter staff (in its place, a โstageโ and bouncy โcast membersโ), we are warmly welcomed to play. Walk in here and samples are practically thrust upon you, the returns policy is near unicorn status, and the perma-happy staff are only too keen to demonstrate new techniques of applying makeup. Regardless of whether youโre spending $200 on luxury skincare or 20 bucks on a lipstick, everyone is treated like a princess here.
Experimentation isnโt strictly a younger personโs game; these days weโre all keen to try new things. โOne of the amazing things about beauty is how democratising it is,โ says Alphie Sadsad, national artistry lead for Sephora Australia. โBeauty is for everyone, and over the past few years we have seen a shift in women of all ages feeling more open to experiment and play with their approach to beauty.โ
Social media and its innate shareability has undoubtedly helped with our eagerness to be more intrepid. Itโs also encouraged brands to up the fun stakes to get our attention.
โBrands are stepping away from more traditional branding approaches towards something that focuses on fun and playfulness,โ says Sadsad. โWe have seen exciting newness in terms of fun packaging, cute names and brand-new formulations. Itโs an exciting time for beauty.โ
With the mantra of โMake-up doesnโt have to be serious to look goodโ, Benefit is one beauty brand with fun in its DNA โ even if it wasnโt entirely by design.
โIt wasnโt ever โThis is our strategy of how weโre going to market our products.โ It was just how Jane and Jean [Ford, the sisters who founded Benefit] knew how to sell,โ says Annie Ford Danielson, daughter of Jean Ford and chief beauty ambassador for the brand. โThatโs just who we are. Jean and Jane have always been able to read women instantly. Thatโs why thereโs an intimacy in the way we talk about our products.โ
There are other make-up brands that share this philosophy. Labels such as Too Faced (its tagline: โA serious make-up brand that knows how to have funโ) and Tarte, which likes to reward its loyal โTartelettesโ, are full of coy product names and good-time formulations that perform as promised.
Then there is Nars, which burst onto our collective beauty consciousness when creator Franรงois Nars launched his Orgasm blush in 1999. Its peachyrose tone and slight gold fleck caused near hysteria among women keen for that flirty flush. This year the brand celebrates 20 years, which goes to show how a bit of personality and sass coupled with a great formulation can really go the distance.
Skincare can veer towards the serious, but there are brands that like to keep it light. GlamGlow is one skincare range making time at the basin fun. It boasts glitter-spiked masks and psychedelic daily cleansers.
Other brands include Sunday Riley and Ole Henriksen, which both create serious formulations and give them quirky names, as well as covetable, candycoloured packaging. Itโs the equivalent of a wink every time you do your morning and evening skincare routine.
Locally, there is Go-To skincare. Created by Zoรซ Foster Blake, Go-To combines natural formulations with product names designed to make you smile. โSkincare is allowed to be fun and funny,โ says Foster Blake. โJust because weโre a clean brand doesnโt mean that weโre a boring, earnest brand.โ
So, does a good time mean you have to give up on quality? โWhen you have the efficacy of the formulas and the shades and the textures that we have, it doesnโt matter if you donโt package it in a sleek silver box,โ explains Ford Danielson. โYou want to have a good time with it.โ Foster Blake agrees: โI think people are frightened, in a way. I just wanted to make women feel confident using skincare.โ And itโs not just niche brands having all the fun. Chanel recently launched a body glitter gel, while Dior has given its famed Lip Glow a candy cane-inspired twist. Then there are big-brand social-media initiatives, such as Estรฉe Lauderโs โRenewal Sandwichโ (google it!), which encourages you to share your tin-man masking session on social airways.
LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL
Lightheartedness is essentially taking away a lot of the confusion. โBeauty is incredibly emotive and tied to how we feel about ourselves,โ explains Sadsad. โFrom our shampoo to our lipstick, we should all be using products that make us smile.โ The bottom line? Life is too short for boring beauty. โFind what works for you and makes you happy,โ adds Sadsad. โThere is no better way to start the day.โ

As The Bachelor Australia officially kicked off last week, all eyes were on Matt Agnew as he navigated meeting twenty-eight single women ready for love. One by one the girls walked the red carpet toward suitor Matt, while viewers were keeping their eyes and ears peeled for any indication that would give away the last woman standing.
It seems the astrophysicist may have let slip a little clue about the winner, who he has admittedly said heโs โin loveโ with. When asked by Menโs Health what life was like now that he was with the winner, Matt said: โTough. I mean, you go through a very unique dynamic in the filming process with the relationship. And then you get to the end, and youโre kind of told you canโt see them and, again, itโs another unique dynamic where youโre separated.โ
He added, โI mean, you canโt just get on a plane and see them when you want.โ
What?
Considering Matt is based in Melbourne, he may have just implied that his leading lady isnโt โ and she lives at least a plane ride away. This is telling, considering some of the viewer favourites are from Melbourne.
Most notably, chemical engineer Chelsie who has been a frontrunner ever since managing to place a temporary tattoo of the love chemical on Mattโs chest.
This isnโt the first time Matt has given away a cheeky tell. Appearing on Novaโs Fitzy and Wippaโs radio show prior to the show airing, one presenters sleuthing may have gotten the best of the astrophysicist.
Holding Channel 10โs full cast photo, host Sarah said, โWe obviously havenโt met [the girls] yet, but weโve seen these piccies. I looked at the chart, I got a vibe, and Iโm going to read your face year because each year I seem to be able to get this right.โ
Mattโs double-blink when Sarah suggested she was โfeeling Tashโ said a lot. โDouble-blink, I reckon weโre on! That was a panic right there,โ Sarah said, while Matt stayed tight-lipped.

In a candid essay titled Toxic Relationships: Sam Frost pens an honest insight to what itโs like when โpartners, friends, bosses or colleaguesโฆ emotionally and verbally abuse you without you even realising.โ
Itโs important to note, the former Bachelorette star is now in a healthy relationship with Dave Blachford, who also recently opened up in a post on Frostโs Believe, describing his experience with her mental health battles.
On her own experience inside a toxic relationship, the Home and Away actor says she was blind to the damage her partner was causing because she perceived her ex to be her soulmate.
โโฆI know how difficult toxic relationships are because I was in a psychologically abusive relationship for 18 months. Eighteen months! I had no idea. I thought I was madly in love and had finally found my soul mate. It wasnโt until I started seeing a psychologist that I became aware of something being seriously wrong.โ
Adding, that her ex-boyfriend was in denial about his vilifying behaviour.
โHe repeatably told me I needed โserious helpโ andโฆ Some of his favourite lines were, โYouโre lucky to be with me. No-one else would put up with you,โ and, โIf you break up with me, youโre just going to ruin the next relationship and the relationship after that. Do you know how embarrassing that will be?โ
Frost explains that the ongoing abusive took a toll on her sense of self-worth and she adopted unhealthy habits.
โI even changed the way I looked, I got skinnier, would wear push up bras and dyed my then brunette hair back to blonde so I could look like all the girls he was following and messaging on Instagram.โ

Itโs not often that oneโs experiences with cancer leads to the creation of oneโs passion โ but thatโs exactly how Bridget Carmadyโs journey starts. Bridget, who is a qualified naturopath, lost both her dad and sister to cancer and has been on a mission to empower others to make smart skincare choices for their wellbeing (and the planetโs) ever since.
It all began in 2008 when Bridget became unhappy when her fatherโs oncologist prescribed a petroleum-based barrier cream to โhelpโ his radiation burn. At home, Bridget began to develop a natural cream for his burns instead โ and much to everyoneโs surprise, her fatherโs burns improved dramatically โ more so than other patients in the ward. This is where Bridget would have her lightbulb moment.
โIt was the cream I made for my dadโs radiation burn that really lit a spark in me,โ Bridget says. โI saw first-hand how natural products could alleviate pain and help reduce burns. This made me eager to learn more about natural remedies and conduct research to test their effectiveness for a whole host of health issues.โ
As a qualified naturopath, Bridget started working in complementary medicine research at the National Institute of Complementary Medicine before opening her own private practice. At her clinic, Bridget saw clients who presented with a whole host of skin issues, and at the time felt as if her clients were faced with a real lack of skincare products that were gentle and made from organic ingredients โ that still delivered powerful results. Bridget decided to develop her own, spending years making products at home before turning them into a professional range in 2016, now known as Clemence Organics.
Losing two loved ones to cancer has made Bridget all the more passionate about eliminating toxins from her life โ and she wants to encourage others to do the same, starting with skincare. It wasnโt always an easy journey, though, with Bridget realising first-hand what it takes to get a brand noticed. โGetting my products noticed on a mass-market scale has probably been the biggest challenge,โ Bridget says.
โA more recent challenge I had was going through the process of getting my skincare range certified organic,โ she adds. โThe amount of paperwork, emails, phone calls and detail required was phenomenal but so worth it in the end. I know more about each and every ingredient in my products more than ever.โ
The challenges have been far outweighed by the powerful results Bridget gets to see first-hand. โOver the years Iโve been told on several occasions how my skincare products have literally changed peopleโs lives. These are people who have spent thousands of dollars trying to resolve a tricky skin issue to have it almost instantly resolved. They are finally able to walk out of their house make-up free, feeling confident and beautiful.โ
As for Bridgetโs advice when it comes to getting a business off the ground? โIf youโre passionate, be persistent. Not many businesses make it overnight. Sometimes it takes years before you start seeing real results. If your heart is in it, then eventually your hard work will come to fruition.โ
โI also highly recommend finding like-minded businesswomen to bounce ideas off and ask advice of. Iโve been very lucky to have a close network of women in my life who are my great resources of knowledge and inspiration.โ

The Bachelor Australia has only aired two episodes, but contestant Emma Roche has already been branded as this seasons โstage five clingerโ. The 32-year-old brand manager has hit back at Network 10, claiming the show used โterrible editingโ to make her look needier than she actually is.
Emma made it no secret how interested she was in Bachelor Matt Agnew, gushing โGod, heโs beautifulโ within minutes of meeting him. โI hate to be sharing, but I feel so lucky to be here and to be in with a chance to find the love of my life. I canโt even believe Iโm saying that,โ Emma added after first locking eyes with the Bachelor.
Safe to say, viewers were quick to notice.
The Bachelor: Emma: he is so smart, I love him, we had the best talk. We have so much in common #TheBachelorAU
TheBachelorcontestant took to social media to share her perspective on her portrayal, sharing some of her stunning promo photos to her Instagram story.
โTerrible editing! Love, Love, loveโ she wrote on the first image, where the fashion label manager was pictured beaming in a dark green gown.
โDO NOT believe everything you see โreality,'โ Emma added on a second photo.

Attention summer seekers, thereโs a new sandal in town and itโs already got the celebrity tick of approval. The shoe in question has been a firm favourite of Angelina Jolieโs for the past few months, seen on the actress no less than nine times during the US summer. She also wore the brandโs Crowther dress in beige while in Paris last month:

But today, Jolie twinned with an unexpected celebrity when Kourtney Kardashian debuted her pair of Gabriela Hearstโs Franzine croc-effect leather slides while on holiday in Italy.
The New York-based brand is nothing new on the celebrity circuit with its Nina Bag being worn by everyone from Meghan Markle to Oprah Winfrey and Kate Bosworth. As InStyle US points out, perhaps these slides are the latest of the brandโs viral offerings? If so, we better get in quick smart.
At $770, the sandals donโt come cheap, but really who can put a price on happiness? And on matching with Angelina Jolie and Kourtney K?!

Calling all beauty enthusiasts, weโve found your new obsession. Buzzy new skincare brand, The Inkey List, has launched into Sephora Australia and itโs said to rival The Ordinary. The brand is pioneering the notion that effective skincare should be affordable and accessible for all, with its ethos focused on simple, hero ingredients allowing customers to create their own bespoke skincare regimen.
The brandโs founders strongly believe that all skincare products should be easy to navigate and understand. In other words, no more confusing ingredient lists and jargon. Instead, each product comes with its very own beauty translator โ think Beauty For Dummies. This includes a basic rundown of what each product is, what it can do for you and your skin and what you should, and most importantly, shouldnโt mix it with.
The best part about The Inkey List is that all the products retail under $25. The brand wants to provide you with what your skin needs, without breaking the bank. It also allows you to build your own bespoke skincare routine, focusing on the products your skin really needs. Below, a breakdown of some of the brandโs best-selling products.
The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid, $12
Hydration is essential for a healthy complexion, and this product works as a magnet for moisture, helping your cells retain as much of it as possible so that your skin feels and appears hydrated, plump and youthful. Use in the morning and evening straight after cleansing to really reap the benefits.
The Inkey List Caffeine Under Eye Serum, $18
This serum is derived from coffee and helps to reduce dark circles and fine lines. As caffeine is a diuretic it works to relieve water retention which can be a major cause of puffiness under the eyes.
The Inkey List Glycolic Acid Toner, $17
Derived from sugar cane, glycolic acid is an essential ingredient that helps to remove dead and dehydrated skin cells from the surface. This AHA gently exfoliates by working to unglue dead skin cells on the surface that cause dullness and enlarged pores.
The Inkey List Beta Hydroxy Acid Exfoliant, $20
BHA acts to unclog your pores, fight breakouts and blackheads and minimise excess oil on your skin.

While Meghan Markle has never spoken publicly about her relationship with her father and extended family, the Markles have talked to the press on several occasions, taking swipes at the Duchess of Sussex seemingly at every opportunity. Her brother, Thomas Markle Jr, has claimed that Meghan and Prince Harryโs wedding โleft him homelessโ, and her father,Thomas Markle, has shared personal letters.
But it appears that Meghanโs sister, Samantha, is the most vocal member of the family and she has spoken about the formerSuitsstar endlessly โ from issuing start warnings to Meghan about seeing Anne Boleyn in the โtowerโ (yes, really), to slamming her for โexcludingโ their father from her life, to making snide remarksabout Meghanโs mother, Doria Ragland.
And despite talking aboutwelcoming baby Archieinto the Markle fold, Samantha has now made some unsavoury โ and rather bizarre โ comments about his christening, while simultaneously ripping into Meghan on her birthday weekend.
She toldThe Daily Star onlinethat Meghan was โcallousโ, โshamefulโ, and a โdisgrace to the Markle family nameโ, before adding that Archieโs christening looked โfakedโ and that she was โsurprised the church did not catch fire when [Meghan] walked into it.โ
She told the website: โFor my sister to go into a church knowing what she has done to our father, ignoring him through every holiday, the wedding, two heart attacks the birth and the christening, is disrespectful.
โMy father has been amazing to her and all the PR in the world will not make her actions right. I hope the guilt consumes her.
โEverything put out about my father has been lies in order to make her look better and to purposely leave out Archieโs family because her ego wonโt allow her to admit that she was wrong.
โEverything about the christening look faked and photoshopped but more at issue is the fact that she has traded an entire family to be royal and shame on her.โ
Samantha also added that she โhopes Archie treats her [Meghan] like she treated her dad.โ
Weโre speechless.

Despite Prince Harry and Meghan Markleโs neighbours in Windsor being given a strict set of rules from a palace aid, including surrounding whether or not it is okay to pet the royal coupleโs dogs (thatโs a no), it would still be rather exciting to live next door to the Britsh royal family and have the chance to find out things such as Baby Archieโs name from Prince George months before his birth.
If Kate and William are your royals of choice, youโre in luck. The house next door to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridgeโs country home, Anmer Hall in West Norfolk, is up for rent.
Since they were gifted the 10-bedroom property as a wedding gift from Queen Elizabeth II, the couple has spent ample time at the property, which forms part of the royal Sandringham Estate, with their three children.
The Sandringham Estate rents out a host of properties in the area, including a terraced cottage with two bedrooms that just happens to sit across from the Anmer Hall drive, which is currently looking for its new tenants.
According to the website, the estate has a โstrict no cats policyโ and โproperties are not let on a first-come, first-served basis, but rather on which prospective tenant is best suited to the property.โ

It seems reality TV shows have become a place for contestants to find love not only with each other, but with celebrities fans who are watching. First, Sarah Hyland tweeted that she thought former The Bachelorette USA contestant Adam Wells was good looking, which led to the two dating, before announcing their engagement last month, and now it appears Gigi Hadid is on a similar path.
After following The Bachelorette favourite Tyler Cameron on Instagram last week, the 24-year-old was spotted out on a date with the showโs runner-up in New York City last night. After a text exchange was shared on social media with someone saying Gigi and Tyler were sitting next to them at Soho House in Brooklyn, another person shared a photo of the pair at the reception desk.
This was just emailed to me on IG by (IG: artsandfood_nyc). No idea if itโs true, if others saw, or if thereโs pics coming. But this person is claiming she saw them. Just wanted to put it out there for all to see. Hannah and Tyler fans โ thoughts and prayers. pic.twitter.com/37d09ZQKRv
Of course, people who have stayed up to date with Americaโs version of the dating show will already know why Gigi and Tylerโs date was extra eyebrow-raising: just last week Tyler was spotted leaving The Bachelorette, Hannah Brownโs, LA home, prompting rumours the two had rekindled their romance outside of the show (Hannah left the showโs winner Jed straight afterwards โ but thatโs another story).
Whether Gigi and Tyler are this yearโs reality TV meet celebrity love story or not remains to be seen, but weโll be watching this one for developments very closely.

After two months apart, it looks like Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin are dating again. The actress and Coldplay frontman were spotted together on Wednesday night at the wrap party for Covers, a new film Johnson is starring in, and again on Thursday night at The Peanut Butter Falcon premiere.
A source told E!that the couple, who were together for two years before ending their relationship in June, is โplanning to spend more time together later this summer.โ
When news of the split surfaced in June, a source told The Sun the famous pair had been serious and the news came as a shock to those close to them. โThere was talk of engagement but now he says they have gone their separate ways, which has come as a real surprise to everyone,โ they said.
Meanwhile, Express reported that it was because they were at different stages in their lives. โChris made it clear he wants more kids as soon as possible, but Dakotaโs career has really taken off, and thatโs the last thing she wanted to think about right away,โ the outlet reported. โIt got to the point, last month, where a light seemed to flick on in both their heads and they realised they were pulling in completely opposite directions โ so they decided to call it a day.โ

If you only read one book this year, make it this. Author Lisa Taddeo spent eight years and thousands of hours tracking and interviewing three women: the unhappily married mum-of-two Lina, the teenager Maggie in a relationship with her teacher and the sexually adventurous Sloane. The result? An intense, extraordinary an oh-so-relatable look at female desire.

SEE WHAT YOU MADE ME DO by Jess Hill (Black Inc., $32.99)
Australia is in the midst of a domestic violence epidemic: one woman a week is dying as a result of abuse. Instead of asking, โWhy didnโt she leave?โ We should be asking, โWhy did he do it?โ Investigative journalist Jess Hill dives deep into the national crisis of fear and abuse in our homes.

Actress Alison Brie is continuing her reign as the bonafide queen of beauty and has debuted another dramatic hair transformation just a month after going back to her natural brunette roots.
Taking to Instagram, the 36-year-old shared a photo of her new copper tresses, writing: โThis bronzed, bow-tied baby will be on @jimmykimmellive tonight!!โ
The Glowactresses isnโt afraid to regularly switch up her beauty look every now and again and very rarely sticks to one signature shade. Earlier in April this year, Brie shocked the world with much lighter blonde strands for an upcoming movie role in The Rental, which also happened to be her husband Dave Francoโs directorial debut.
Being the ultimate hair muse that she is, we thought itโs only fitting that we take a look back at some of Brieโs most notable hair moments to date:

The Internet basically exploded when a dermatologist claimed Kate Middleton had gotten โbaby botoxโ, and before that, it was a Clarins lip product that Kate was spotted applying at Wimbledon. Also, letโs not forget the hullaballoo over the supposed Dior foundation Meghan Markle wore on her wedding day. This week we discuss why we (i.e. the world) are so fascinated with the beauty products in the royalsโ kits.
Also in this ep: How often should you actually be washing your hair? We reached out to the pros to get to the bottom of it (plus, we asked them for their tips on how to extend the time between washes). And, we chat about how pollution could be speeding up the ageing process, and what you need to do to ensure that doesnโt happen.

When it comes to life goals, Reese Witherspoon has ticked off an impressive number. Academy Award winner? Tick. Founder of a production company that aims to put women in lead roles? Tick. A hit television series? Tick.
Witherspoon has been a trailblazer for women since she burst onto our big screen in 2001 as the bubbly (and smart) lawyer in Legally Blonde. Her undeniable prettiness and upbeat personality made her an instant star, but her longevity in cutthroat Hollywood suggests her success is more than skindeep. And itโs a sentiment that she reflects on when marie claire met with the A-lister in LA.
โI love women who express themselves with their personalities and just have a strong presence,โ Witherspoon says. โAwesome women like Diane Keaton and Jane Fonda; I always [admire] women like that.โ Then there is the star-studded line-up of stellar female talent in the Foxtel mega-hit, Big Little Lies. Co-produced by Witherspoon, the showโs cast boasts Nicole Kidman, Zoรซ Kravitz , Laura Dern and was recently boosted further by the arrival of industry doyen Meryl Streep.โI love Nicole, she is the best,โ says Witherspoon. โAnd it was amazing to have Meryl join us.โ
It is perhaps Witherspoonโs belief in equality for women that has led to her role as ambassador for cosmetics giant Elizabeth Arden. Sheโs been in the position as the brandโs storyteller-in-chief for two years now, and when marie claire sat down with the Golden Globe winner in a stunning home located in Beverly Hills (whispered to belong to one of Witherspoonโs friends) the title feels apt. Especially when you consider that this beauty brand was founded by a woman intent on changing the world.
Elizabeth Arden was undeniably a girl-boss. And like Witherspoon, she aimed high when it came to life goals. In 1910, a young Arden revolutionised the beauty industry by opening her own salon on Fifth Avenue, New York, famously painting the salonโs front door red; a symbol now synonymous with the brand. Ardenโs list of accomplishments is long, but to cherrypick, there was the royal warrant, which announced Elizabeth Arden as an official beauty supplier to the Queen (a title still held by the brand to this day); Arden was also the second woman to grace the cover of Time Magazine (the first being the Queen); in 1933 the beauty entrepreneur would become the first woman to have her own radio program; and, in 1977, she was posthumously inducted into the US Business Hall of Fame.
Reese Witherspoon and Sally Hunwick
Ardenโs vision was to create skincare that benefited rather than masked, and there are no surprises when you meet Witherspoon in real life either. The actress has the poised presence of a true movie star, yet the warmth you feel emanating from the big screen seems just as genuine face to face. โMy mother was always saying, โFind something to be happy about every single day,โโ says Witherspoon when asked what real beauty means to her. โBeauty is an attitude, itโs a positivity, a joy from within.โ
If you did want to get Witherspoonโs luminous skin, you would do well to invest in Ardenโs highly anticipated Vitamin C Ceramide Capsules. They are the next instalment in the brandโs hugely popular Advanced Ceramide Capsules (or โcapsโ to its devotees), which launched with a bang in 1990, not just for their groundbreaking single-dose format, but because the bio-engineered, skin-identical ceramides added instant hydration and helped restore the skinโs barrier.
Witherspoon is a regular user of both the Advanced Ceramide Capsules and Retinol Ceramide Capsules ($150 for 60 capsules), which launched last year. โIโve been using the retinol capsules [at night] for a year and they really even out my skin tone,โ she says.
The new Vitamin C Ceramide Capsules are proving the perfect adjunct to a night-time retinol ritual. Because, while retinol is scientifically proven to make skin essentially behave like younger skin, vitamin C deals with brightness and environmental protection. โVitamin C is great for hyperpigmentation and the prevention of underlying sun damage,โ explains Dr Dendy Engelman, a New York-based consulting dermatologist for Elizabeth Arden, who marie claire also spoke to in LA. Itโs also a great wingman to your SPF. โVitamin C acts like a safety net to catch any additional sun damage that can occur,โ says Engelman.
The ingredient can be irritating to some skin types, but Elizabeth Arden has solved the issue by including vitamin E and avocado oil. โThe oils help the vitamin C absorb more readily and penetrate more deeply,โ says Engelman.
The benefit of being in capsule form is not only knowing how much to apply, but also being able to keep this highly unstable ingredient stable and active. This streamlining of the daily routine is something that resonates for Witherspoon. โYou have to get it down to the bare minimum,โ she says. โIโve got it down to a 10-step routine.โ That includes diligent skin washing (โI wash my face in the morning and I wash my face at night,โ she says), moisturiser (โliving in California it gets so dry, so I have to keep reapplying moisturiserโ), the ceramide capsules and sunscreen.
โI canโt stress enough how important sunscreen is,โ she says. โAfter having kids, I started getting little brown spots, so I have to pile on the sunscreen.โ She says she has been diligently using the brandโs newly released Eight Hour Great 8 Daily Defense Moisturizer. โIโm really excited about it because it doesnโt go white on your skin,โ Witherspoon says.
Thatโs not to say she doesnโt have her vices. โI drag myself out of bed [and] drink coffee,โ she says. Witherspoon is so fresh-faced itโs comforting to know that even she needs to get her game face on. โThereโs something beautiful about putting yourself together for the day,โ she says. โGetting your hair done, putting your make-up [and] outfit on; it makes you feel prepared for the day, but itโs also caring for yourself and presenting your best self.โ

After seasons of undone hair and an addiction to dry shampoo, there is now a return to hair requiring a greater time investment. And itโs starting from our socials.
Noticed a change in your Instagram feed? It could be that your favourite It girls have traded their bedhead locks for hair thatโs glossy and done. โWe live in a time where itโs all about self-care,โ says celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin, who has her own hair brand Ouai and tends to the locks of A-listers such as Chrissy Teigen, Khloe Kardashian and Kendall Jenner. โWe are getting tips from our friends, pros and from everyone [on social media] on how to create hairstyles.โ
Hair health is at the root (pun intended) of enviable hair. โWhen your hair is healthy, itโs going to be bouncier, itโs going to be shiner and itโs going to look better,โ says Atkin, who is ambassador for Dyson and Slip and regularly offers up hair tips to her three million Instagram followers. โI know Iโm doing something right when my girlfriends who [donโt usually] compliment, say, โWow! Your hair looks really goodโ.โ
She credits her hair glossiness to the Dyson Airwrap, a high-tech hair device that promises salon-looking styles at home using temperatures that wonโt damage hair. And naturally, sheโs sharing.
โI started going on my IGTV and showing how Iโm literally in and out of the bathroom in five minutes using the tool,โ explains Atkin.
Need to polish up? Hereโs how.
HOW TO LOOK MORE โDONEโ
We asked Joey Scandizzo, celebrity hairstylist and co-founder of Eleven how to getting your hair looking โdoneโ and polished.
Do Put aside your matt, texturising products. โSteer away from hair products that give that raw and natural texture and [start] switching to products and tools that leave hair looking healthy, shiny and finished.โ
Do Add accessories. โItโs all in the details and putting that bit of extra effort into your style.โ
Do Invest in a comb. โYou want to go for clean partings and not a hair out of place.โ
Donโt Just throw up a ponytail. โEven if youโre going for a simple ponytail, it should be super groomed, pulled tight and perfected with a high-shine finish.โ
Donโt Go poker straight. โWeโre moving towards smoother, seamless S-bends. Use a flat iron to create soft bends in the hair to get movement with a polished, super-glossy finish.โ
Feel stuck in a rut? A new haircut will get you noticed. โA good way to add drama to your haircut is to do something different to what youโre used to,โ says UK celebrity hairstylist Sam McKnight, who gave Princess Diana her famous crop. โYou canโt get away with having the same hair for years now. Experiment with your hair more โ change and reinvention are great.โ
Lea Seydoux
SWEET PARTINGS
Something as simple as shifting where you part your hair can make a big change to how your hair sits and the shape of your face. Atkin gives her best tips:
For a heart-shaped face โIf you have a heart-shaped face and you do a centre part, it will make your face look more oval.โ
For fine hair โIf your hair is really fine and flat, switch your part up because itโll help to train the cuticle to do what you want to do.โ
Ask an expert โAsk your hairstylist which part line suits your face. Take some selfies and study them.โ
COLOUR UPDATES
We asked Wendy Gunn colourist and winner of the 2019 International LโOrรฉal Professionnel Colour Trophy Awards held in Paris, how to nail super-polished colour at your next appointment.
Say the word โombreโ โOmbre tones or multi-tones are a big trend this year. Ask for fine, handwoven foils using high and low lights.โ

We all know fashion is constantly evolving. Trends come and go every season, only to eventually come around again and again โ just take Janeโs Birken to Carrie Bradshawโs Dior Saddle. But after all the original hype has died down, which luxury goods are actually worth investing in? Stylight has teamed up with second-hand retailer Rebelle to determine which five โItโ items have the greatest resale value.
From categories, colours, materials and brands that have the highest resale value, Stylightโs Fashion Investment Guide explains which five luxury items will give you the greatest return on your sartorial investment. Below, what is worth investing in.
1. Gucci Marmont
According to global Stylight shopping data of over 12 million monthly users, the most clicked-on model of the highly-coveted 2019 Gucci GG Marmont shoulder bag is in raspberry-pink velvet.
2. Dior Saddle Bag
John Gallianoโs Dior Saddle bag has been an iconic model since its debut in 1999. Thanks to Maria Grazia Chiuri, Diorโs current creative director, the Saddle bag made its long-awaited reappearance at the Paris Fall/Winter 2018 Fashion Week.
3. Gucci Princetown Slipper
The Princetown slippers from Gucci are a winning combination of luxurious comfort and classic design. This seasonโs statement mules, ranging in colours, materials, and designs, have made their way into the wardrobeโs of fashionโs elite. On Stylight, the most-clicked-on pair of Gucci Princetown slippers in the past year is the black leather pair embroidered with gold bees and a star motif.
4. Fendi Baguette Bag
The Fendi statement bag, a cultural icon in itself in the late 1990s, was one of fashionโs first โItโ bags. According to Rebelle data, the prices for second-hand Baguette models have risen dramatically in recent months, largely thanks to the styleโs design revival and influencer hype.
5. Nike x Off-White โAir Force 1โ
While Instagram may be riddled with popular sneaker models from Alexander McQueen and Balenciaga, the shoe resale market relies heavily on the singularity of a product. As an example, the Nike x Off-white โAir Force 1โ sneakers were originally listed for $170 but can now be found on eBay for $1,140, a 570% price increase.

Winter is the ideal time to get your beach body ready for spring-summer. We round up the best new treatments and at-home products to contour, tighten and smooth the arms, stomach, hips, thighs and bottom.
1. TARGETING FAT POCKETS
The treatment: LIPOcel body sculpting
What it is: This medical grade contouring tech uses high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) to permanently zap fat cells and tighten the skin without damaging the skinโs surface.
What to expect: First you are body scanned by the InBody 770, so you can track how much body fat youโve lost. Then your therapist moves the cool-touch LIPOcel device over your target area. You can achieve an impressive 20-40 per cent reduction in subcutaneous fat (the stubborn fat that sits above the muscle and below the skin) in the treated area. The treatment is relaxing and virtually pain-free.
Itโs particularly good for: The stomach, love handles, thighs, arms and bra bulge. Time between sessions Between two and four treatments a month apart for best results.
What the expertsays: โLIPOcel is effective for those stubborn โhard-to shiftโ deposits of fat that wonโt budge no matter how clean your diet and how strict your exercise regimen,โ says Danielle Smith, founder of Elite Body Contouring.
What it is: Said to be like Pilates for the skin, this treatment uses heat to kickstart collagen production to tighten and firm slackened skin.
The benefits: Able to be used on both the face and body, it tightens loose skin to improve body contours. The changes are not drastic, but you can bank on noticeable tightening in the following months.
What to expect: Skin tightening results happen over two to six months following the non-invasive treatment. You may feel heat in sensitive areas, but it dissipates quickly and there is zero downtime.
Itโs particularly good for: Tightening crepey areas of skin, post-pregnancy stomach laxity, a sagging bottom, wrinkling knees, and loose skin on the arms.
Time between sessions: You can go two to three years between sessions.
What the expert says: โThe Thermage FLX treatment encourages collagen growth to slow down the process of ageing,โ says Vicky Lambrinos, director and consultant at MD Cosmedical Solutions.
What it is: A radial shockwave therapy device that encourages fat reduction and boosts skin firmness and collagen regeneration.
What to expect: The high-energy sound waves trigger a boost in circulation and metabolism of the bodyโs fat cells, while the mechanical massage helps eliminate toxins and improves lymphatic drainage.
Itโs particularly good for: Skin tightening and improving the look of cellulite and stretch marks.
Time between sessions: The Cynosure treatment is a mere three to four minutes per area, but factor in two treatments per week for three weeks for best results.
Cost: $50 per area (one inner thigh for example) per treatment.
What it is: While traditional saunas use heat to warm the skin, infrared saunas use carbon technology to gently heat your core body temperature using infrared light energy. This has a detoxifying effect at a cellular level.
What to expect: Just like a regular sauna, this is a relaxing treatment where you can indulge in some me-time (20 to 40 minutes is ideal). Temperatures are 60 to 80 per cent lower than regular saunas.
Itโs particularly good for: With temperatures around 45 to 55C, it takes longer to sweat in an infrared sauna, but it is said to be a much deeper sweat. A session is said to help expel toxins, burn calories, boost circulation and reduce swelling and puffiness. It can also help ease chronic pain, arthritis and sports injuries.
Time between sessions: A 30 to 40-minute session three or four times a week gives optimal results.
What the expert says: โInfrared stimulates on different levels [far, mid and near] to mobilise heavy metals, lactic acid and the lymphatic system,โ says Dr Dianne Clark, owner of Norbu in Melbourne. โItโs best for excess fluid, skin congestion, fatigue and insomnia.โ

If you thought rumours of a royal feud had officially been extinguished, think again. Over the weekend on the Duchess of Sussexโs 38th birthday, a royal source reportedly told The Sun that Meghan doesnโt plan to invite Kate Middleton to her upcoming birthday celebrations at Frogmore Cottage. The source is quoted: โIt is unlikely that the Cambridges will be invited to Meghanโs 38th birthday on Sunday.โ
However, it seems the source has claimed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge didnโt make the invite list, not because of a royal feud, but rather to keep with the coupleโs demands of a โlow keyโ event. Truly, less of a party and more of a hang session with her, Prince Harry, and baby Archie.
Meghan and Kate are reportedly enjoying a โstrong friendshipโ since the birth of Archie, with a source telling Hello Magazine that Kate โwas a great source of support to Meghan in the days leading up to Archieโs birth. Despite reports of a rift, they are family and have a really lovely friendship. Their relationship has certainly evolved over time and they have become closer since Meghanโs wedding.โ
The source adds, โThey talk and text regularly. They have more in common, and Kate has wanted to make sure Meghan has felt welcome into the family.โ
To celebrate Meghanโs special day, Prince Harry let everyone know how much he loves his wife by taking to Instagram via the coupleโs shared account, @sussexroyal. The royal shared a photo of Meghan laughing from their Royal Tour of Australia and New Zealand last year, writing, โHappy Birthday to my amazing wife. Thank you for joining me on this adventure!โ โ Love, H.โ
Kate Middleton and Prince William shared a photo of the two couples walking side-by-side with Charles during the royal familyโs walk to Christmas Eve church services last year. โWishing a very happy birthday to The Duchess of Sussex today! ๐โ the post read.
In a new interview, Royal expert and commentator Omid Scobie weighed in on how he thinks the Duchess will be spending her day, saying, โPrince Harry will be back from Google Camp in Sicily, where he gave a speech about the fight against climate change, so theyโll be spending Meghanโs birthday quietly as a family. The Sussexes have been so busy this year that I can imagine her birthday will simply involve a well-deserved day of rest with a few friends โ and, of course, precious moments with Archie.โ

Prepare to bing, a haunting new Australian true-crime series has dropped and it will have you hooked. Ghosthunter, an Audible original podcast, took seven years to make and details the eerie realities of paranormal activity, a familyโs terrible forgotten secret and a police investigation. It follows Jason King, a self-proclaimed ghost hunter whose first ghost-sighting was that of his brother. He told Jason that he needed to find their estranged father, who disappeared during their childhood.
King teams up with documentarian Ben Lawrence, who becomes entwined with the eccentric charm and unusual nature of Kingโs unwavering belief in the supernatural and how it could be the key to unlocking his forgotten childhood. But things get complicated when a three-year police investigation interrupts their research into the King familyโs murky past. Years of self-reflection, estranged characters from the past and haunted paranormal incidents bring the pair to a confronting conclusion โ that the most terrifying ghosts are sometimes the ones we find within ourselves.
โYou never know how deep the rabbit hole will take you,โ Lawrence says. โThere were so many personal twists and turns over the seven years creating Ghosthunter that I found myself deeply immersed in Jasonโs life, I was even the best man at his wedding. The podcast format meant we were also free to spend an extended amount of time telling the story, giving Ghosthunter the space and detail it needed to develop fully.โ

What do the following celebrity mothers all have in common; KimKardashian,Jessica SimpsonandPink?
Answer: They have all come under fire for their parenting skills. This phenomenon is commonly known as mum-shaming. For the unversed, mum-shaming is criticizing or degrading a mother for herparentingchoices because theydifferfrom the choices theshamerwould make.
Earlier this week, Simpson came under fire when she dip-dyed her daughter Maxwellโs blonde waves. Soon after posting the photo, critics appeared in the comments section. โWhatโre u doing she is so young now out there for all the wrong reasons,โ wrote one commenter. Another said, โWhy start ruining her hair so young?โ While another attacked Simpsonโs intelligence for her allowing her daughter to dye her hair.
Itโs a familiar story for singer Pink, who isnโt afraid to aim at Instagram tolls and so-called โparenting police.โ She also she just made a powerful statement in direct support of Simpson: giving her own daughter, eight-year-old Willow Sage, the same exact beauty treatment.
โI heard people were bummed on Jessica Simpson for letting her seven-year-old get her hair coloured,โ she wrote. โSo we thought weโd share what we did yesterday.โ
Back in April, Pink (whose real name is Alicia Moore) told Ellen DeGeneres that she was done sharing photos or videos of her and husband Carey Hartโs two children. Her decision came after she was slammed for sharing a photo of her children playing with a pelican in which Jameson could be seen not wearing a diaper.
โPeople went as far as saying someone should call child services because he didnโt have a diaper on and how dare I โฆ some of the nastiest things,โ Pink told Ellen.
โI cried so hard after that because I like to share my family. Itโs my proudest moment. Iโm prouder of my kids than anything Iโve done in my whole life.โ
But that wonโt happen anymore, according to the singer, because, โI just wonโt share them anymore. I wonโt do it. Iโm not posting pictures of them anymore.โ

Over the weekend, in a less than 24 hour period, there were two mass shootings in the United State: one in El Paso, Texas and the other in Dayton, Ohio. A combined total of 29 people died. The mass shootings come just a week after another mass shooting at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in Northern California. It didnโt take long for the world to react, expressing their frustrations and anger at the frequent acts of violence in the country.
Following the two events, President Donald Trump tweeted: โTodayโs shooting in El Paso, Texas, was not only tragic, it was an act of cowardice. I know that I stand with everyone in this Country to condemn todayโs hateful act. There are no reasons or excuses that will ever justify killing innocent peopleโฆMelania and I send our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the great people of Texas.โ
Many took aim at Trumpโs words, from Rihanna to John Legend.
โYour country had 2 terrorist attacks back to back hours apart leaving almost 30 innocent people dead. This, just days after yet another terrorist attack in California, where a terrorist was able to LEGALLY purchase an assault rifle (AK-47) in Vegas, then drive hours to a food festival in Cali leaving 6 more people dead including a young infant baby boy! Imagine a world where itโs easier to get an AK-47 than a VISA!โ, Rihanna said. โImagine a world where they build a wall to keep terrorists IN AMERICA!!! My prayers and deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of all the victims from Texas, California, and Ohio! Iโm so sorry for your loss! Nobody deserves to die like this! NOBODY!โ
Below, celebrity reactions to the domestic terrorist attacks.
When we condemn the racist venom coming from the President's mouth and point out the bigotry of his policies, it's not an academic question, it's not a political game, it's about life and death. The President regularly inspires killers. He is a part of the problem
Woke up to the news of #DaytonOH shooting. This senseless loss of life is unbearable. When will our US representatives give the people of this country the common sense gun laws we are all demanding? Iโm calling my congressman. Again. @Everytown
I honestly donโt have a problem with the president golfing today. Itโs the fact that heโs going to do nothing about gun violence tomorrow or any other day that enrages me.
I am sick to my stomach over what has happened in El Paso today. I canโt believe this is happening in my country and no one is doing anything about it. Who has to die for laws to change?
Any member of congress who is not actively in the fight for gun safety reform, is not fit to represent us. Period. The inaction is reprehensible. 2 mass shootings in 24 hours? We simply canโt stand by and let this continue to happen. #VoteThemOut
Friendly reminder: there has been more than 1 mass shooting per day (251 in total) this yearโฆ and of the people who didnโt die and went to the hospital, just remember that 62% of all American bankruptcies are due to medical bills. #GodBlessAmerica

After a rocky year of controversy surrounding Victoriaโs Secret and just days after model Shanina Shaik revealed the brandโs 2019 fashion show wouldnโt be going ahead, it appears the lingerie giant has started listening to its critics.
Over the weekend, transgender Brazilian model and actress Valentina Sampaio revealed she had been cast for a photoshoot for Victoriaโs Secretโs PINK line. This marks the first time the brand has cast a transgender model and comes nine months after Chief marketing officer Ed Razekโs comments on diversity which quickly went viral and prompted celebrities such as Halsey, who performed in the 2018 show, to speak out.
While addressing the criticism surrounding Victoriaโs Secretโs lack of diversity, Razek told Vogue, โItโs like, why doesnโt your show do this? Shouldnโt you have transsexuals in the show? No. No, I donโt think we should. Well, why not? Because the show is a fantasy. Itโs a 42-minute entertainment special. Thatโs what it is. It is the only one of its kind in the world, and any other fashion brand in the world would take it in a minute, including the competitors that are carping at us. And they carp at us because weโre the leader.โ
There are photos of Valentina heading in to audition for the 2018 Victoriaโs Secret Fashion Show, however, the 22-year-old didnโt make the final line-up of 60 models. Her posts confirming her PINK casting received a tonne of support from fellow models, including congratulations from current Victoriaโs Secret Angel (and fellow Brazilian) Lais Ribeiro, who posted how happy she was about the news on Twitter, and Laverne Cox, who wrote โWow finally!โ in the comments of Sampaioโs Instagram.
This isnโt the first time Valentina has broken records, either: she was the first trans model on any Vogue cover, appearing on the March 2017 cover of Vogue Paris and later appearing on the cover of Vogue Brazil and Vogue Germany.

Ariana Grande and Social Houseโs Mikey Foster sparked romance rumours approximately two seconds after fans saw the chemistry between them in the music video for their new song โBoyfriendโ which was released last week. And it appears, just like Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello, that on screen spark has translated into real-life.
A source toldPeople that the musicians are seeing each other but that they havenโt put any labels on their situation, while The Blast reports that the pairโs โprofessional relationship and friendship has taken a passionate new turn in the recent months.โ
After Foster, whoโs currently on tour with Grande, shared a sweet tribute to the singer on her birthday in June, speculation started about the romance. โUr one of the most incredible people the universe has to offer. I hope this year offers u nothing but the joy u deserve. Love u. happy birthday ๐,โ he captioned a baby photo of Grande.
She replied in the comments, โlove u sooooooo much.โ
After her whirlwind engagement and then split from Pete Davidson in October 2018, Grande joked that she was swearing off men for 2019. Speaking to Vogue last month, she called her relationship with Davidson an โamazing distractionโ after a difficult breakup with rapper Mac Miller, who later died from an overdose.
โIt was frivolous and fun and insane and highly unrealistic, and I loved him, and I didnโt know him,โ she said. โIโm like an infant when it comes to real life and this old soul, been-around-the-block-a-million-times artist. I still donโt trust myself with the life stuff.โ

While some fans took Cole and Liliโs posts to confirm things are happy in paradise, others took it to mean that theyโd actually split ages ago and that all of the articles coming out were wrong. But it looks like we finally have clarity โ and things are looking up for Betty and Jughead.
Taking to Instagram for Coleโs birthday, Lili shared her version of a โsoppyโ love poem, simultaneously confirming theyโre still in love (phew).
โI tried to find a poem that I could send to you. Because my words were failing me. But I searched and found nothing that did you justice. All of these love poems canโt get it right. No one elseโs words could ever fit. They havenโt known the fortune it is to love you. -sappy nighttime birthday poem for @colesprouseโ, she wrote.
Fans quickly responded with one writing, โMy heart just explodedโ and another joking, โI think theyโre still dating๐.โ
So there we have it. Case closed. Oh, and happy birthday, Cole.

The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle just celebrated her 38th birthday, her first as a mother and her second as part of the British royal family. To celebrate the day, Prince Harry is letting everyone know how much he loves her by taking to Instagram via the coupleโs shared account, @sussexroyal.
Harry shared a photo of Meghan laughing from their Royal Tour of Australia and New Zealand last year, writing, โHappy Birthday to my amazing wife. Thank you for joining me on this adventure!โ โ Love, H.โ
But Harry wasnโt the only one to wish Meghan a happy birthday. Kate Middleton and Prince William shared a photo of the two couples walking side-by-side with Charles during the royal familyโs walk to Christmas Eve church services last year. โWishing a very happy birthday to The Duchess of Sussex today! ๐โ the post read.
Charles and Camilla posted a slideshow of images to their official Instagram account, writing, โA very Happy Birthday to HRH The Duchess of Sussex ๐,โ while the Queenโs account, which also represents the royal family as a whole shared a photo of Meghan and Harry holding hands, writing, โHappy Birthday to The Duchess of Sussex. ๐ The Duchess was born on this day in 1981.โ
While Meghan spent her last birthday at Harryโs good friend Charlie Van Straubenzeeโs wedding, it looks like this yearโs celebration will be more low-key and spent with the family.
The Sun reports that 26-year-old Cara and 29-year-old Ashley spent just $438 on their wedding, which included celebrity guests such as Charlize Theron, The Jonas Brothers and Sophie Turner and which, similar to Joe and Sophieโs nupitals, was officiated by an Elvis impersonator.
Though no photos have been released from the ceremony and the date hasnโt been confirmed, itโs said the brides both wore black and that Ashley was โwearing high heels and carrying a bouquet.โ After saying โI do,โ the brides posed for photos in a pink Cadillac.
Michael Kelly, who owns the chapel, confirmed the wedding to the The Sun, saying, โThey were sure about what they are doing and they were sure about what they mean to each other. . . They had the biggest smiles on their faces.โโ
Rumours that the Pretty Little Liars star and British supermodel were engaged started circulating last month after the couple was spotted in France sporting matching gold rings. The two were first linked romantically in June 2018 after they worked on a movie together.
Ashley previously explained in an interview that sheโs โalways been privateโ about her relationships, adding: โI mean itโs hardโฆyou kind of canโt get away from that if youโre in the public eye. I just kinda try to keep myself as private as possible.โ
Congratulations to the happy couple!

โI think actors in general are a little strange,โ admits Natalia Dyer, 22, who plays gutsy teen Nancy Wheeler in cult series Stranger Things, now in its third season. โEven when weโre filming dark things, the goofy cast make the set electric. I love Brett Gelman [who plays Murray Bauman]; heโs so off the cuff. And David Harbour [who plays Jim Hopper] is a big, funny personality.โ Not to mention Charlie Heaton, who plays Dyerโs love interest, and is her boyfriend in real life.
With its mix of dark humour, โ80s nostalgia and edge-of-your-seat suspense, Stranger Things is widely thought of as one of the best Netflix Originals series to date. Millions of viewers tune in every episode, just not Dyerโs nearest and dearest. โI donโt get pestered for spoilers. In fact, some of [my family and friends] havenโt even watched the show, which is nice in a way. My family donโt talk about it too much, but theyโre very supportive,โ she says.
Veteran Hollywood actress Winona Ryder is Dyerโs go-to for support on set. โWinona is very hands-on and always asks questions. She knows when things feel right and when they donโt, and sheโs not afraid to say so. I look up to that.โ
Dyerโs list of actresses she admires is long: thereโs Jameela Jamil from The Good Place โ โI respect her so much for using her platform to speak out about how womenโs bodies are portrayedโ โ plus all the women in the Netflix comedy film Wine Country. โThose are my kind of people: the Amy Poehlers and the Tina Feys. And Mindy Kaling.โ
Letโs make a Stranger Things/SNL crossover episode happen, people.

Founded in Switzerland, La Praire is renowned for creating the most covetable and scientifically-advanced beauty products in the world.
August 1st marks the skincare houseโs first major commitment to protecting the beautiful landscapes and rich natural resources from which their ingredients are born. Moved by the effect that climate change has taken on La Prairieโs birthplace, the company has chosen to support glacier related research at ETH Foundation to provide support to the Section of Glaciology of Continental Europeโs number one ranked university.
โWe are very honoured to support ETH with this donation. Their pioneering work in the field of climate studies, glaciology and environmental conservation is in line with La Prairieโs overarching value of Swissness โ a value centred on excellence and innovation โ and its heritage of applying scientific advancements to the preservation of natural beauty,โ said Patrick Rasquinet, Chief Executive Officer of La Prairie.
So what keeps La Prairie at the highest echelons of the anti-ageing industry? Part of it has to do with the La Prairie origin story. In 1931, a glandular transplant specialist named Dr. Paul Niehans started researching cell therapy. He believed that the root of all successful skincare could only be found at the cellular level.
From a stunning chalet hidden away in the Swiss mountains, Dr. Niehans developed what is now known as the exclusive cellular complex, found in all of La Prairieโs products. The complex is produced in three separate laboratories so that the complete recipe remains a secret; no single La Prairie chemist knows the full formula.

While many of us look forward to the inevitable call to room service when on vacay, youโve never seen it quite like this. To celebrate National Dog Day on August 26, Kimpton Hotel Monaco in Denver, Colorado, is offering guests a package that includes an hour-long private puppy party and bubbly for the occasion.
The package includes ten dogs, sparkling wine, and Italian snacks. A puppy expert will also be on hand to join in on the fun and answerโ questions about puppy health and care, and guests can even rescue any of the puppies through Lifeline Puppy Rescue.
โAt Hotel Monaco, we are always looking for advanced elements of comfort and feelings of home for our guests,โ Chris Guse, general manager of Hotel Monaco Denver, told Departures. โWith that approach, puppies have naturally been incorporated into our evening wine hour program. The joy this activation has generated for everyone involved made it apparent we needed to take the concept to another level but in a more intimate setting.โ
The Puppy and Prosecco package is available from August 23-26, when booking a Luxury Suite โ with half the proceeds going to Lifeline Puppy Rescue. Now, any Aussie hotels up for a puppy party?

The 2003 rom-com How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days, starring Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey, is officially heading to the small screen. Deadline reports that Quibi, a soon-to-be-launched โmobile-focused streaming platformโ is working to adapt the film into a multi-episode series.
The series-style take on How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days will involve a โglib young online writer and an oversexed advertising executive, both looking to prove theyโre capable of being in a monogamous relationship,โ E! Online adds. Benjamin Barry, played by McConaughey, will still be an ad exec.
Guy Branum, who wrote both the original and rebooted series, has updated Andie Anderson (originally played by Hudson) to be a digital journalist as opposed to print.
The series is set to launch in April 2020, and already has some huge names signed up. In addition to the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days series, the platform will also launch projects with Tyra Banks, Justin Timberlake, Zac Efron, and Chrissy Teigen โ and thatโs only the beginning.
More than 20 series have already been announced and every day, more and more are being added, giving viewers even more reason to be attached to their phones. The mobile-first approach means the shows arenโt following any sort of traditional structure. Some of the series have episodes that clock in at less than 10 minutes and others are set to be reality and competition shows.

Australian actress Asher Keddie has become official campaign ambassador for Georg Jensen in support of the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF).
โIโm really pleased that I can partner with Georg Jensen and add my voice to this incredibly important initiative that supports ovarian cancer research,โ says Keddie. โI wasnโt aware of just how frightening not only the statistics are with this cancer but the fact that there is no early screening test. What keeps coming back to me is that one woman dies every eight hours. Itโs so vital that thereโs an early detection test.โ
Ovarian cancer is the deadliest gynaecological disease. Every year, more than 1600 Australian women are diagnosed with the cancer and it claims the lives of more than 1000. The OCRFโs mission is to fund research and improve the devastating facts and figures โ presently, the five-year survival rate is just 45 per cent (half of what it is for breast cancer).
Iconic Danish jeweller Georg Jensen has been a long-time supporter of the OCRF; this year it launches the limited-edition Mercy Heart pendant, a delicate design that will help fund crucial research . โThe Mercy pendant is exquisite,โ says Keddie, โAnd it reflects the compassion we need to invest in this worthy cause.โ

Living a mostly private life, when Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake give us a snippet into their inner world, we take notice. Having managed to shield their 4-year-old Son Silas from public attention, itโs a rare moment when they share photographs of their family life.
When the couple do choose to share a peek of their son with fan, they keep his face hidden, such as in their cute family snap of their Halloween costumes as Harley Quinn, Robin and Batman, a sweet 4th of July post and a sweet holiday snap of Justin and Silas jumping from a wharf this weekend.
Biel captioned the cute memory simply โJumping off the dock of the bayโฆโ
After five years of dating, the couple wed in 2012 and welcomed their son Silas in 2015.
After the birth of their son, Biel candidly took to Reddit to detail how motherhood has shaped her life, ad the impact that Timberlake has had on shifting her outlook on life.
โHonestly, I didnโt grow up dreaming about having kids and having a family. I was so focused on my career and so focused on my selfish existenceโฆbut I think meeting my husband inspired me,โshe wrote. โOne day I just woke up and knew itโs what I wanted to do and itโs been the hardest, greatest thing ever and I wouldnโt give it up for the world.โ
With sweet comments like this, we are already looking forward to the next time they allow us a glimpse into their family life.

A conversation with Cara Delevingne is a bit like going down a rabbit hole. You start off politely talking about make-up โ the star, who turns on 27 on August 12, is the new face of Dior Addict Stellar Shine lipstick โ and within moments youโve zigzagged into feminism, masturbation, depression and her love of Bear Grylls. Curiouser and curiouser.
For a globally famous supermodel โ after Kendall Jenner, she was one of the highest-paid in the world last year, raking in about $14 million โ sheโs pleasingly un-supermodelly. Sitting on a sofa in the sumptuous penthouse suite of a Parisian hotel, we are surrounded by colourful macarons, vases of plump pink peonies and chic silver bullets of Dior lipsticks. The setting is trรจs French, but Delevingne is exceedingly English. โDo you mind if I take my shoes off?โ she asks in plummy tones. By all means, I say, relax. โTake it easssssssy!โ she trills, bursting into song, slipping off her pointy black flats and curling her long legs beneath her. Sheโs eccentric, effusive and when she canโt think of a sufficiently entertaining answer to a question, she swears like Hugh Grant in Four Weddings and a Funeral. Delevingne may come from a privileged background โ her maternal grandmother was once Princess Margaretโs lady-in-waiting and her godmother is Joan Collins โ but she has an everywoman appeal thatโs earned her more than 40 million followers on Instagram and over 10 million on Twitter. It is this frankness and willingness to talk about her mental health, fluid sexuality and tricky teenage years (her mother, Pandora, battled heroin addiction and Delevingne was bullied at school) that have won her a legion of loyal fans.
Eight years since first appearing on a London catwalk, she remains the fashion and beauty industryโs favourite poster girl, and sheโs carving out a promising career in Hollywood. Following breakout roles in Paper Towns (2015), Suicide Squad (2016) and last yearโs Her Smell, Delevingne will be seen next in her first major television series, Amazon Primeโs neo-Victorian fantasy drama Carnival Row. โItโs one of the most incredible pieces of writing in terms of something thatโs set in a fantasy world but deals with current affairs, like the refugee crisis and what society needs to do differently,โ she explains. โHopefully, it will make people think and get them talking. I play this fairy called Vignette Stonemoss who is a survivor, a really strong female lead. Iโm a bisexual fairy โ what else would you want to be in life?โ

marie claire: If you could give advice to your 16-year-old self, what would it be?
CD: That this moment wonโt last forever; just hold on. Every 16-year-old needs to hear that. Sixteen was one of the worst years of my life, my most depressed age. I just needed to know that (a) I wasnโt alone and (b) it was just that moment. Moments are like a river โ they keep going.
MC: When it comes to beauty, whatโs been your most transformative moment?
CD: Shaving my head [in 2017, to play a cancer patient in upcoming film Life in a Year]. Before, Iโd always kept my look very similar. Iโd have my hair and makeup done for shoots and go through these transformations, but personally I never did anything โ I kept the same haircut and never coloured it. Shaving it all off was a big leap of faith into my own exploration of femininity. It didnโt mean that I wasnโt beautiful. I learnt you donโt need hair to be a woman and that my previous beauty ideals werenโt true.
MC: Whatโs your earliest beauty memory? For many of us, itโs watching our mum apply lipstick.
CD: It was less watching my mum put on lipstick and more getting her lipstick and rubbing it all over my face! I was not one to watch, I was one to do. Then, when I was about 10 and had these big eyebrows, my mum told me to leave them alone as they were my best feature. I was like, โWhat are you talking about? I keep getting bullied for having a monobrow.โ I wanted to make them smaller. Of course, if youโre being told that you have something horrible on your face, youโre going to want to change it, but Iโm glad that I listened to her.
MC: Do you have a favourite lip look?
CD: I love a lipstick in a dark colour like Diorcelestial. You can wear it day and night and change it from matte to shiny by layering a gloss over the top. Iโm someone who eats, talks a lot and is bad at maintaining lipstick, so itโs great because itโs long-lasting.
MC: How does wearing lipstick make you feel?
CD: Itโs the process of putting it on that I enjoy. Itโs almost like an intimate experience with yourself, like touching yourself.
MC: Care to elaborate?
CD: That sounds a bit weird, haha! But itโs almost like you are seducing yourself. Youโre putting something on your lips, youโre feeling sexy โฆ itโs empowering. And itโs not just women; men can wear lipstick, too. Itโs something they should do more. Thereโs nothing as great as putting lipstick on and having it smudged off.
MC: What are your desert-island beauty products?
CD: A good rose mist spray to keep my skin hydrated, because I fly a lot. I like to use an anti-ageing moisturiser, like Dior Capture Youth, because prevention is pretty important, especially with the rise of cosmetic surgery. Itโs better to look after your skin than go for a needle or a knife.
MC: How do you practise self-care?
CD: I wouldnโt be able to do what I do without any self-care. I go on a yoga and meditation course once a year after [autumn/winter] fashion week. Itโs a good time to go away because January and February are always very busy. The course is eight hours a day, very intense, and it allows me to connect with myself. And that practice carries me through the year, so itโs very important. As a kid, I could leave my make-up on for days and just carry on, but as I get older, I take self-care more seriously.

Imagine being told your children have a serious genetic disease, with no cure. That was the case for Sydney Mum Jess Gowans, whose son Henry, five, and daughter Rosalie, three, both have a condition called LCHAD deficiency. Here, Jess reveals her story.
How old were Henry and Rosalie when they were diagnosed with LCHADD? How does it manifest and how do you keep the disease at bay?
Henry was less than 2 days old when he became so unwell that the doctors initially assumed, he had developed sepsis, and some days later, the newborn screening test (the heel prick test) came back with red flags. Follow up testing confirmed the diagnosis of LCHAD Deficiency when he was 10 days old. Rosie was diagnosed antenatally when I was 16 weeks pregnant.
LCHAD Deficiency is a complex condition to manage as it requires both day to day care as well as longer term preventative care. LCHAD Deficiency is the lack of the enzyme that converts fat to energy, which means both Henry and Rosie are missing an energy source to fuel their bodies. Daily, both Henry and Rosie cannot fast beyond 3 hours, must have a strictly low-fat diet, and require a specialised formula. They both have feeding tubes and overnight they have a feeding pump to prevent fasting. If they expend a lot of energy, such as during exercise or illness, we must make sure they have extra energy to keep their bodies working which could be through their formula or through an IV in hospital. If they donโt have enough energy, their body turns to using muscle as an energy source, which can lead to damage in their livers, kidneys, eyes, brains and hearts. This can cause longer term issues such as heart problems, vision loss and nerve damage. The disease was only discovered in 1989 and is very rare (less than 1:250,000) and as such there is little research into prognosis and management.
How did your life change when you found about your childrenโs diagnosis?
Henry is my first child, and while I had the general thoughts of โwhat ifsโ during pregnancy, I didnโt think it would include being a mum to child with a chronic disease. I thought being a new mum would involve long days snuggled up in the new nursery, dreams of my babyโs future and the quiet confidence of being my childโs main carer. However, I quickly realised that for us it involved long difficult days in the hospital, confusing conversations with doctors, uncertainty about the future and slotting into a care team that went beyond myself, my husband and our family. I often asked myself how can we keep our children healthy when they have a disease that has so little known about it?
Itโs made me realise the importance of health, which was something I had always taken for granted. We slowly learned to accommodate these changes into our version of normal. From there I learned to stretch my understanding of parenting. I linked into communities such as other families with children with similar conditions, places that could support me in caring for my children. I hope for my children to be included, which means that they never feel like their health holds them back from being able to have all the regular joys of childhood and hopes for their futures.
Tell us about your involvement with Jeans for Genes
I had known about Jeans for Genes Day due to fundraising days at school, but I never knew what Jeans for Genes Day stood for until I began looking online to see what was out there in terms of research and support. From there I learned about other families who were a part of the Childrenโs Medical Research Institute and saw how Jeans for Genes raised money to support vital research into helping children who faced the same fear and uncertainties we face.
I was asked to take part in the 2018 campaign, which showcased the amazing resilience of children and their fight to lead long and healthy lives. That really resonated with me, and Henry became one of the faces of the campaign, which saw him advocating for better futures for children with rare diseases. We saw Henry in magazines, on billboards, bus stop shelters, on the television, and I was asked to speak at a fundraising event. The campaign was far reaching, and I met three Australian families who have children with LCHAD Deficiency, which was an incredible experience for me.
How has Jeans for Genes helped your family?
The most important part of being involved in Jeans for Genes, on a personal level, is seeing my son develop confidence and pride in himself and talk about and understand his LCHAD Deficiency. He was empowered when identifying with his disease, which was the total opposite of all the times we have felt our lives taken over by appointments, admissions and restrictions. We advocated for children with LCHAD Deficiency, and our international LCHADD family got behind us with pride.
We have been approached by many families who have been keen to understand how the Childrenโs Medical Research Institute can help their families. To have a child with a rare and chronic disease can be isolating, frightening and powerless. To have CMRI working on better treatments and cures for rare and chronic disease provides a platform of hope for our family to keep advocating for fundraising through Jeans for Genes.
You have admirably become an advocate for genetic diseases, and even formed a support group for children who must be tube fed, as well as returning to work as a psychologist. How do you do it and what drives you?
For me itโs been about reaching out and holding onto something that can give me resilience and hope for the future. Itโs to show my children that they have the gift of choice in their lives; choices that people with โregularโ health have. They can experience the normal things children their age can experience, and they can do it by learning about their disease and how to manage it. I never want them to feel like theyโre a victim to their disease.
From there things have just flowed into the creation the tube feeding support group โ we have 60 local families with tube fed loved ones who know they have somewhere they can turn to, which gives them a place to build resilience and hope. I really enjoy understanding people and hearing their stories, which has given me space to return to work. I believe in Jeans for Genes and the work CMRI does and it drives me to get out there and meet people and help them see that research can give us hope for our childrenโs futures.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas mightโve gotten married just six months into their relationship, but that doesnโt mean theyโre rushing to have children any time soon. In fact, the famous couple isnโt focusing on having a family right now, even though they do want to have children at some stage.
โNick and Priyanka want kids, but right now itโs not a priority,โ a source told Entertainment Tonight. โBoth are extremely busy, and with the Jonas Brothers reuniting and being a massive success the couple is conscious [of] how much time the tour takes up,โ they continued.
โNick and Priyanka havenโt been putting pressure on having kids,โ the source explained. โThey are enjoying married life, traveling and working. The couple is okay with when it happens, it happens, and it will be a blessing.โ
Priyanka previously opened up about having children, telling the Daily Mail that she and Nick want it happen organically. โWe both know that thatโs something that needs to happen, but itโs not something I think about very much,โ she said.
โWeโre both very driven, we love our work, weโre married to our work, and weโre both very supportive of each otherโs work. So Iโm sure it will happen in an organic way.โ

Shay Mitchell has been sharing all of the biggest, best and most challenging parts of her pregnancy with us through her YouTube series Almost Ready, including how she found out sheโs having a girl and how her recent miscarriage has shaped this pregnancy. Her latest topic? How pregnancy makes you constantly want to pee โ and how she combated it by wearing nappies. Yes, really.
โHonestly guys, Iโve never known that somebody could pee as much as you do when youโre pregnant,โ the Pretty Little Liars star says to her friends in the clip. โI swear to God, in a half an hour, I went to the bathroom probably about 22 times last night to the point where I was like Iโm fโking wearing diapers.โ
While you might think sheโs exaggerating to get her point across, sheโs not. Mitchell is literally wearing a nappy. โI am literally wearing a full on diaper,โ she says as she pulls down her pants. โIt gets so annoying going to the bathroom all the time!โ she explains.
The 32-year-old, who is now six-months pregnant to her partner Matte Babel. Opening up about why she chose to wait so long before revealing her current pregnancy, Mitchell said last time it โdidnโt go as I had hoped for, and it was extremely difficult.โ
โThe first time that I was pregnant last year, Matt and I hadnโt been planning, it happened and we were really excited about it,โ she said in a YouTube clip, titled โKeeping a Secretโ. โI was like 14 weeks, at that point, I had no idea the percentage of miscarriages. When it happened I was just, completely blindsided by it.โ
Shay then breaks down in tears, revealing she still has the ultrasound photos on her phone and footage of her visits to the doctor. โAnd itโs weird because, I havenโt looked at them, obviously,โ she says. โBut, itโs not like I forgot about that happening, so of course Iโm like super happy, but I still feel for that one that I lost.โ

When 13 Reasons Why was released in 2017, it quickly became the most talked-about show of the year. Now, in its third season the popular Netflix series is both focusing on another death and reevaluating the one that made it so famous to begin with.
Ahead of the release of its third instalment, Netflix announced it would be pulling the controversial season one scene in which Hannah, played by Australian actress Katherine Langford, takes her own life. โAs we prepare to launch Season 3 later this summer, weโve been mindful about the ongoing debate around the show,โ the statement read. โSo on the advice of medical experts, including Dr. Christine Moutier, Chief Medical Officer at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, weโve decided with creator Brian Yorkey and the producers to edit the scene in which Hannah takes her own life from Season 1.โ
According to Deadline, the upcoming season of 13 Reasons Why picks up eight months after Clay, Tony, Jessica, Alex, Justin, and Zach prevented Tyler from doing something very bad. The group bonds over the cover-up until โthe aftermath of a tumultuous Homecoming game culminates in the disappearance of a football player, and Clay finds himself under police scrutiny.โ
Deadline also reveals a new character will be central to the storyline. โItโs up to a shrewd outsider to steer the group through an investigation that threatens to lay bare everyoneโs deepest secrets.โ

Jordyn Woods just did her second tell-all interview since the cheating scandal with Tristan Thompson that wrecked her friendship with Kylie Jenner. In the piece, the 21-year-old spoke about her hopes to reconcile with Kylie, saying of her former BFF, โI love her. Thatโs my homie. I hope everything falls into place and that we can all grow and build our relationships with our family and God and come back together one day and be stronger and happier.โ
However, according to People, Kylie isnโt wanting to fix the twoโs relationship at all and unfollowing Jordyn on Instagram was her way of saying it. โThey have obviously not had a good friendship for months, but it seems Kylie never wanted to rush it and completely break away from Jordyn,โ the source started. โJordyn is very much trying to hang onto the world that she shared with Kylie. Kylie is just over it.โ
โShe wants to live as drama free as possible,โ the source continued. โShe just doesnโt need Jordyn in her life. Unfollowing her on Instagram was kind of the last step to break away from Jordyn.โ
After Jordyn was photographed with Khloe Kardashianโs ex-boyfriend James Harden last week, Kylie reportedly realised she was ready to let go for good. โKylie just felt that Jordyn was really popping up in annoying situations, where she shouldnโt be,โ the source toldPeople, addingโit was starting to bug Kylie.โ

โItโs something Iโm not used to because every year around this time Iโm training like an angel,โ she revealed earlier this week.
Yet, that doesnโt mean the runway Queen will be slowing down by any means. Shaik has just released her first collection designed in collaboration with Byron Bay label Johansen. Encapsulating her โsimple, classic and sexy,โ approach to fashion with a line of pieces that will take you from day to night โ featuring classic fabrics and silhouettes.
Here, we caught up with Shaik just before she jetted off to Europe to discuss all things; travel, skincare and of course, style. Keep reading for five minutes with Shanina Shaik.
What does a typical day look like for you?
โI rarely ever have a typical day. My work changes every day. I could be up extremely early heading to the airport for a shoot the following day or heading to the gym and working on emails and upcoming jobs.
โIn my spare time being that Iโm so busy I like to relax, catch up with my girlfriends and pamper myself.โ
What is your best travel beauty tip?
โMake sure to always bring moisturizer and eye masks whilst travelling. This will keep you hydrated and looking fresh when you land.
โI also like to bring my own silk pillowcase to be hygienic and help with anti-ageing.โ
Photographer: Tess Leopold, HMU: Ashlea Penfold, Courtesy of Johansen x Shanina Shaik
What is your daily skincare routine?
โI cleanse my skin with Mario Badescu seaweed cleaning soap or Dr. Barbara Sturm darker skin tone cleanser. I follow with Mario Badescu glycolic acid toner. This toner is best because it balances out my oily skin.Lastly, I moisturize with an SPF Barbara Sturm and use a cleu de peau eye cream.โ
What is the best beauty tip you have learnt backstage or from a makeup artist?
โTo use one feature on your face as your main feature. Meaning choose your eyes, lips or cheeks to accentuate your full makeup look.โ

Before The Bachelor kicked off last night and finally introduced us to the 28 women vying for Matt Agnewโs final rose, Tommy Little dropped a bombshell on The Project and revealed his romantic history with two of this seasonโs contestants, but remained quiet about exactly who.
The comedian had brief flings with both Abbie and Jessica, with it all going down in the DMs. He slid into 30year old makeup artist Jessicaโs DMs and the eventually swapped numbers, however he was in the dark as to her appearance on the reality dating show. Enjoying another flirtationship with arguably the worlds most famous Gemini, Abbie, who made the first move and privately messaged The Project host.

When the Bachelor himself, Matt Agnew, appeared on The Project, Tommyโs co-host Carrie Bickmore cheekily announced โTommy Little has been telling us that heโs been linked to two ofthe girls inThe Bachelorhouse tonight,โ. All in jest, Matt joked โI guess as a prolific dater Tommy, it would have weirder if you werenโt linked to one of them.โ
Jessica and Abbie are not the only reality stars who Tommy has been associated with. Having dated Chantal Hryniewski from season two, he has also been linked to Leah Costa from season five, who he says he doesnโt even know. At the time, Tommy spoke of the situation on his radio show, saying โI saw her out at a comedy gig. And the guys at the bar were like, โAh, man howโs your form? Youโve stood Leah up twiceโ. And Iโm like, โIโve never met her. Sheโs been telling people I stood her up twice'โ. Commenting on the backlash he said โYou know, I have a bit of an issue with this woman. I think sheโs fun and definitely a bit crazy but she started messaging me a few months ago,โ.

Outside of the Bachelor ladies, Tommy also once dated controversial Married At First Sight bride Davina Rankin. After she appeared on the show, he called her during his radio show to ask her as to why why their fling fizzled out, โHang on, hang on, Iโm confused, because Dav, I just want to know, were you trying to go on a second date and get married at the same time?โ.
With so many links to these reality ladies, maybe itโs only a matter of time before we see Tommy on a dating show of his own.

Your new year finds you busier and more energetic than youโve been for some time. While not every idea or activity will reap immediate rewards, many projects stand a chance of success. The people you meet, the directions you take and any new circumstances all nudge you towards a richer, more satisfying life โ particularly as the year progresses. Finally, too, you learn to put yourself first. So donโt place too much faith in colleagues or friends, no matter what they promise. Be confident that if it comes to the crunch, you can make it alone.
Aries (March 21 โ April 20)
Best Day: Sunday 4th
Mercury stridently steps towards success, and so do you. Youโve been in a holding pattern since last month and if anything has gone stagnant โ this is your chance to get it moving again. Or use your freshly ignited charms to form a new business or romantic relationship. Nothing can stop you now, Aries.
Taurus (April 21 โ May 20)
Best Day: Monday 5th
A happy Mercury stirs Taurean intimacies. You enter a week of experimentation with love. If youโve been a loner of late, you may now need more friendship. If youโve always had plenty of mates, you could now prefer the company of a few. Either way, friends will help you break out of physical, emotional or spiritual ruts.
Gemini (May 21 โ June 21)
Best Day: Saturday 3rd
Grab this week of sanity and ride it for all itโs worth, Gemini. Thanks to a forward moving Mercury, your thought processes fall into a sensible order โ helping you to approach projects rationally. Youโre again able to cope under pressure, thanks to use of logic and the power of focus. Expect a well-earned change in lifestyle in the months to come.
Cancer (June 22 โ July 22)
Best Day: Tuesday 6th
This week could find you a little wiser, and much happier. For some, this relates to work matters. If so, put forward projects โ no matter how ambitious. Thanks to a single-minded Mercury, other Cancerians look to resolve a long standing mystery. A sudden epiphany, perhaps, could stir that special โaโhaโ moment.
Leo (July 23 โ August 23)
Best Day: Friday 2nd
Itโs a week when fast-moving Mercury seems extremely interested in putting you in the spotlight. This dynamic planet will magnify and expand whateverโs happening with your work, career and how others see you. Consequently, you may receive a promotion or new job offer. If nothing else, expect to make important decisions.
Virgo (August 24 โ September 22)
Best Day: Sunday 4th
Plans have been kept on hold lately. Maybe youโve surrendered to othersโ demands. Not so this week. Your ruling planet, Mercury once again powers forward โ and so do you. Those whoโve tried to take advantage of you? They suffer a short, sharp shock. Never mess with an Virgo on the attack.
Libra (September 23 โ October 23)
Best Day: Thursday 8th
Librans innately know that life turns in cycles, and that troubled circumstances are eventually replaced by good fortune. Professionally, if you donโt like the way things are, maybe itโs time for a change. Just donโt leave in too much of a hurry. There may still be alternatives to consider. It could be a matter of simply asking for what you want.
Scorpio (October 24 โ November 22)
Best Day: Friday 2nd
Scorpios are astute, determined and usually in control; and when it comes to change you can pretty much turn on a sixpence. Of course, others may resent a sudden remodelling of long held plans. What they need is reassurance โ not ultimatums. Gently coax rather than demand. Theyโll love you even more if they feel like co-contributors.
Sagittarius (November 23 โ December 21)
Best Day: Monday 5th
Forward moving Mercury grants you permission to make changes. If you feel itโs time to move on, do so. While you canโt change the past โ take comfort in knowing that every new day can lead to new beginnings. Start thinking positively, and watch your world expand. Love isnโt out of the question, either.
Capricorn (December 22 โ January 20)
Best Day: Wednesday 7th
Mercury takes a positive step forward. For other zodiac signs, this may cause a slight ripple effect โ but Capricorn? You can expect an emotional tsunami. Repressed emotions resurface. Feelings will be raw and exposed. But itโs not all bad โ strangely, you may take pleasure in this new sense of โbeing aliveโ. Your mind becomes crystal clear.
Aquarius (January 21 โ February 18)
Best Day: Wednesday 7th
A revitalised Mercury steps forward and, with it, Aquarians rise like a phoenix from the ashes. Take this as your cue to step back into the spotlight. Relationships woes and career setbacks become a distant memory. Youโve triumphed over tragedy, now you can get back to what you do best โ ruling the world.
Pisces (February 19 โ March 20)
Best Day: Saturday 3rd
Mercury is keen to keep you in its relaxed company so, this week, you can catch up on things that arenโt too important. If youโre wondering what could make you happier, think love and friendship. A delightful social life boosts Piscean charm. You say all the right things and others are listening. A great time for announcements.

While fans of HBO series Big Little Liesshouldnโt hold their breath for a third season, they could have some other exciting news to celebrate. In the lead up to the showโs recent finale, many members of production made it clear a season three was not likely.
HBO president Casey Bloys has said he โwould do anythingโ with the Big Little Lies team, but the odds of everyone back together for another round of episodes are slim. โThe reality is, they are some of the busiest actresses working in Hollywood,โ he said, according to TVLine. โI just think itโs not realistic.โ
During an appearance at the Television Critics Association press tour, series creator David E. Kelley echoed the sentiment. โNo such plan now,โ he said when asked about the third season. โI think that itโs one and two, and we like where our closure is at the end of Season 2, so that will probably be it.โ
Author Lianne Moriarty, who wrote the book Big Little Lies is based on, isnโt quite finished with the story.
In a conversation withVariety, she shared that a spinoff (at least of the books) could be in the works. โThe only thing I had sometimes thought, even before any of this had happened, was maybe jumping ahead to when the children are in high school โ years ahead. So, thatโs a possibility, but not for years to come. I feel like I would need a break, too, before I did that,โ she said.
โThat would be for me, for a book,โ she continued, โWhich maybe wouldnโt even have the same characters. Maybe Iโm in the same town. But I donโt know. Itโs just thoughts.โ

โIโm in a daze, still. Iโm on cloud nine.โ James Stewart exhales. Itโs a few days since the Home and Awaystar married his long-term partner and co-star Sarah Roberts on July 23 in Ireland.
Choosing Luttrellstown Castle as their special spot, the couple lived out their fairytale dream.
The now husband and wife are waking up together bright and early in Ireland to share all the details exclusively with WHO, and even though theyโre exhausted from a life-altering week, their joint excitement is palpable down the phone line.
โI wanted it to be a celebration of love and the important thing for us is for our families to come together and for us all to be together and everyone to just have an enjoyable time,โ Sarah, 34, shares, before James, 43, adds: โWe could have easily gotten married under a tree by some water or on a property up in the hills; anywhere! But this has been magic.โ
Living in Sydney but hailing from different parts of Australia, (James is from the Gold Coast and Sarah is from Melbourne), choosing Ireland for their wedding may seem like an unusual choice. But as the couple reveal, Ireland is sentimental to them for several reasons.
James has Irish ancestry but for Sarah, the connection is even closer to home. Her brother Karl De Abrew lives in Dublin, but due to health issues, was unable to fly anywhere, so they brought the wedding to him.
โMy brother lives over here. Heโs not able to fly at the moment because of health reasons. And my mumโs over here at the moment as well,โ Sarah explains.
โJimmy and I wanted to get married within a year after he proposed. And when we decided to get married in Ireland, [we knew] weโve got two production breaks at work. Either July or December. December is going to be really cold in Ireland, so we thought July would be perfect and actually it was! It was 25 degrees the day we got married, which is really unusual for Ireland at this time. They were all running around saying it was a heatwave!โ

Yesterday, Lady Gaga was spotted with a new man for the first time since ending her relationship with ex-fiancรฉ Christian Carino. The singer was pictured kissing her monitor engineer Dan Horton while out to brunch in Los Angeles. According to People, the pair was spotted kissing โmultiple timesโ during the outing (you can see for yourself here) and that sources said they definitely โappeared to be more than friends.โ
While the romance between the two is real, one of the reasons Gaga wanted to go public so soon was to shut down the romance rumours thatโve been plaguing her and Bradley Cooper, and which intensified when Cooper ended his four-year relationship with Irina Shayk.
A source toldEntertainment Tonight that Gaga is sick of the persistent reports and hates that she was brought into Cooper and Shaykโs relationship.
โAll the talk of Bradley was all in fun; sheโs ready to dispel those rumours once and for all,โ the source said. Noting that โno oneโ is surprised that Gaga is dating Horton now. โShe likes to date men on her teamโฆshe is known as a workaholic, so it fits her lifestyle to meet someone while working.โ
โGaga has real chemistry with Dan,โ the source continued. โThey have been seeing each other for weeks and have been working with each other for a while. They have been working on new music, have spent hours of work time together and became really close. Theyโre working very closely together at a home studio in Hollywood, and sparks just started flying. People noticed the chemistry early on, and now that she has taken some time to herself, she finally feels free to date. They seem like a pretty good match.โ
Gaga called off her engagement with her ex-fiancรฉ Christian Carino in February. At the time, a source told People that โit just didnโt work out. Relationships sometimes end. Thereโs no long dramatic story.โ Hortonโs ex-wife, actress Autumn Guzzardi, made headlines today for posting a photo with the caption โPoker Faceโ, hours after reports of Horton and Gagaโs romance.

The best part about a new movie being released (apart from the movie itself, of course) is seeing its stars take to the red carpet in showstopping look after showstopping look, and no one does it better than Margot Robbie. Just days after wearing the white Chanel dress of our dreams, the 29-year-old Australian actress attended the red carpet premiere of Once Upon a Timeโฆ in Hollywoodin London wearing a floaty orange Oscar de la Renta gown.
Since she first started promoting the film, which she stars in as Sharon Tate, Margot has been channelling the late actress with her fashion choices and beauty looks, opting for breezy dresses and emulating the Hollywood glamour of the late โ60s with her beauty looks and accessories.
For last nightโs event, Margot matched her tangerine orange dress with her eyeshadow and wore her hair out in loose waves. She accessorised with glitzy Chanel earrings and an Edie Parker clutch.
But it was what she wore to the after-party that really caught our attention. Later that evening, the Oscar-nominee opted for a more relaxed look, swapping her dress for a two-piece floral suit, part of Matteauโs Resortโ20 collection, and Loeffler Randall gold heels.
Sheโs not the only stylish celebrity to give the twin set the tick of approval recently, either. Both Priyanka Chopra and Sophie Turner were spotted in matching two pieces, which Victoria Beckham designed and then wore recently, too.
If these comfortable ensembles are going to become a trend, weโre well on board.

The Duchess of Sussex has only just finished guest-editing a fashion magazine and now, the 37-year-old has turned her sights to fashion design. Announcing her new venture in the new issue of British Vogue, Meghan Markle revealed she has teamed up with three British retailers โ John Lewis, Marks & Spencer and Jigsaw โ to create a fashion line with proceeds going to one of her patronages, the womenโs charity Smart Works.
Smart Works was created to help women get back into the workplace by providing them with clothes and the coaching they need to succeed at a job interview. Here in Australia, we have a similar initiative called Thread Together. While the charity is brilliant, Meghan notes that often they donโt have the right sizes and the workwear options can be limited. To help the cause, she teamed up with her friend, designer Misha Nonoo, to create a classic collection to be sold in Marks & Spencer, John Lewis and Jigsaw with one item being donated to Smart Works every time one is sold in store.
Meghan visited Smart Works earlier this year
โWhen you walk into a Smart Works space youโre met with racks of clothing and an array of bags and shoes, Meghan explained in Vogue. โSometimes, however, it can be a potpourri of mismatched sizes and colours, not always the right stylistic choices or range of sizes.โ
โTo help with this, I asked Marks & Spencer, John Lewis & Partners, Jigsaw and my friend, the designer Misha Nonoo, if they were willing to design a capsule collection of more classic options for a workwear wardrobe,โ she continued.
โTaking the idea further, many of the brands agreed to use the one-for-one model: for each item purchased by a customer, one is donated to the charity. Not only does this allow us to be part of each otherโs story, it reminds us we are in it together.โ
Itโs believed the collection will be available later this year, but further details have not yet been confirmed. Fingers crossed we can purchase online from Australia!

In her first big interview since speaking on Jada Pinkett Smithโs Red Table Talk in March, immediately following the drama with Tristan Thompson, Jordyn Woods has opened up about the immense backlash she received, what happened that night, and whether she thinks sheโll ever be friends with Kylie Jenner again.
During her cover interview with Cosmopolitan UK, the 21-year-old said that she became addicted to reading all of the negative things people were saying about her in the days following the cheating scandal, so much so that she said it โbecame like a tumour.โ
โIt becomes addictive to look on the internet, to look at your name,โ she said. โWhen I would look at my name and see all of the things that people were saying, it became like a tumour. It became cancerous to me.โ
Of the night in question, Woods said that immediately after Thompson kissed her, she left the house and went to her mumโs (at the time she was living with Kylie Jenner). โI didnโt know how to feel. I was like, โThat didnโt just happen.โ I [told him] โI need to go.โ I was leaving already so I walked out immediately. I got in the car. I was in shock.โ
Jordyn said she needed to process what had happened to work out the best way to handle the situation. โYou know that saying, โI feel so alone in a room full of peopleโ? I went through a phase of thinking, โIโm going to isolate myself, because I donโt know how I feel. I donโt know what the right thing to do is.โโ
Speaking of the backlash in the months following, Jordyn said she needed to take some time away from the spotlight and chose to ignore the hate she was getting from trolls online. โI just need[ed] some time by myself to try to understand what [was] happening, why it [was] happening, and how am I going to react to this internally, you know? How can I make things right with myself, with God and with my relationships? It took some time off in order for me to have a level head on how I should react,โ she said.
โWould I ever have wanted this to happen? Never. But shit happens. And in the end, I never want to see anyone hurt; I would hate to be the reason for anyoneโs pain. We all have to go to sleep with ourselves at night.โ
As far as her former BFF Kylie Jenner goes โ who unfollowed Jordyn on Instagram just two days ago โ Jordyn has hopes theyโll be able to one day reconcile. โI love her. Thatโs my homie,โ she started of Jenner. โI hope everything falls into place and that we can all grow and build our relationships with our family and God and come back together one day and be stronger and happier.โ

The Bachelor Australia has officially kicked off for another year, with twenty-eight new single ladies vying it out for suitor Matt Agnewโs heart. The first episode saw Matt meet the ladies on the red carpet, and it was nothing short of drama.
From the get-go we had Osher shooting off space puns, Matt throwing shade at The Honey Badger, chemical engineer Chelsie giving temporary tattoos of the love chemical and bubbly blonde Abbie confusing astrophysics for astrology โ and that was only the first ten minutes.
That says it all really, now on with what the rest of Australia has to say. Below, the best Twitter reactions to episode one of The Bachelor.
Less than 30 seconds in and we got a space pun oh dear #TheBachelorAU

When it comes to viral hair trends, it seems tasty beverages have been monopolizing the game. First, it was all about cold brew coffee tresses, then glass hair; toasted coconut; and most recently, spicy copper strands. And now, thereโs yet another Instagram-inspired hairstyle that the beauty world is obsessed with: Milk Tea hair has everyone buzzing right now.
The trend originated after it was noticed that a growing number of Instagram posts coming out of Japan and Singapore were labelled with the hashtag #milkteahair, indicating an undeniably gorgeous hair colour named after (as you might have guessed) milk tea.
What exactly is toasted Milk Tea Hair?
Technically speaking, the term is used to describe a neutral hair shade between brown and blonde โ a variation on last seasonโs bronde trend, milk tea is the 2019 way to melt brown and blonde shades together.
โWhen asking your colourist for something similar, you want to stress that youโre looking for a colour melt look that starts more warm-toned at the root but transitions to ash on the ends,โ hairstylist Olivia Smalley revealed.
โThe key here is making sure there is a complete elimination of gold on those lighter ends while maintaining gold on the roots.โ
Check out a few more examples of the milk tea hair trend.

Elizabeth Olsen and her boyfriend of three years have some news to celebrate. According to People, Olsen and Milo Green singer Robbie Arnett are engaged. The two reportedly met in 2017 and made their official debut as a couple during an Emmys pre-party.
Olsen is notoriously private about her personal life, but the engagement doesnโt come as much of a surprise. The two have been seen on several vacations together as well as regularly on the streets of New York City.
Olsen was previously linked to Narcos actor Boyd Holbrook, but the two called off their engagement in 2014 after three years of dating. Elizabeth isnโt the only Olsen making headlines with relationship news today, either.
Her sister, Ashley Olsen sparked engagement rumours after being spotted with a ring on that finger. She is currently dating artist Louis Eisner. Us Weekly notes that the two have been dating for over two years and that the couple was spotted together during a birthday celebration for her twin sister, Mary-Kate, and her husband, Oliver Sarkozy.

While her Sex And The City alter ego Carrie Bradshaw preferred to sip on cosmos, Sarah Jessica Parkerโs latest venture is paying homage to her love of wine. The multihyphenate, who already has successful shoe and fragrance empires under her belt has teamed up with New Zealand-based Invino wines for the second time.
โI have thoroughly enjoyed the collaboration with Rob and Tim from Invivo,โexplained SJP.
โEvery part of the process from our initial conversations discussing wine styles, to the creative process on the brand and label design and of course, the Sauvignon Blanc blending session; itโs all been one exciting step after another. And a thrilling education in the business of winemaking, but more importantly, the love and passion behind Invivo.โ
Sarah Jessicaโs wine was perfected in May when the founders of Invivo, Tim Lightbourne and Rob Cameron, travelled to New York City for a private blending session with her to finalise the blend and taste of her new Sauvignon Blanc.
โWhile Iโm new to winemaking, the Invivo fellows generously taught, showed and shared as much of the art and science of their business and hopefully I have absorbed some of their Kiwi confidence,โ Sarah Jessica said.
โIโm so looking forward to releasing my Invivo X, Sarah Jessica Parker Sauvignon Blanc in September and sharing our wine with the world! I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity offered by Rob and Tim.โ
Parkerโs collaboration with Invivo will launch in Summer 2019 with a focus on Sauvignon blanc and rosรฉ wine. In spring 2020, a Rosรฉ wine from the South of France will join the Sarah Jessica Parker wine collection. This will be a new vintage 2019 blend from grapes harvested this September.
Invivo X, Sarah Jessica Parker Sauvignon Blanc will retail for $25 and will be available at Cellarmasters.com.au and BWS stores from September.

Violence against children is at endemic levels across Pacific island nations and Timor-Leste, with children subject to brutal physical discipline in the home, as well as sexual violence, a new report has found.
More than 4 million children across the region had experienced violent discipline in the home and in Papua New Guinea 27 percent of parents or caregivers used physical punishment โover and over as hard as they couldโ, the report by leading NGOs working in the region found.
โThe levels of physical, sexual and emotional violence in the region are shockingly high and it is something that we all need to come together to work around because that level of scale of violence is going to have long-term detrimental impacts for children,โ said Kavitha Suthanthiraraj from Save the Children Australia, the author of the Unseen, Unsafe report, which was published on Tuesday.
Suthanthiraraj added, โItโs not talking about the normal kind of disciplining tactics that people might use, itโs more heavy-handed physical and/or humiliating punishment.โ
โ Save the Children Australia News (@SaveAusNews) July 30, 2019
The report also revealed that 24 percent of adolescent girls in the countries surveyed had experienced physical violence and 10.5 percent had experienced sexual violence. In Papua New Guinea, rates of sexual violence against children are โexceptionally highโ, the report said, with Mรฉdecins Sans Frontiรจres reporting that children were the victims in more than 50 percent of sexual violence cases referred to their clinics in the regions of Port Moresby and Tari.
In 2017, Australia spent just $1.1m on programs specifically targeted at ending violence against children in the Pacific and Timor-Leste, just 0.1 percent of its spending on overseas development assistance for the countries.
Tackling the problem required a โholistic approachโ, Suthanthiraraj said, including education programs to teach children what behaviour is inappropriate and where to turn if they feel unsafe, and positive parenting programs to teach other methods of discipline, which she said โget really good responses in the communityโ.
Plan International Australia CEO Susanne Legena described the overwhelming figures in the Unseen and Unsafe report as โheart-wrenchingโ.
โAnyone confronted by these figures would agree that this is just horrific. All children deserve to feel safe, to be healthy and loved, no matter where they live. For too long, confronting this silent epidemic of violence against children has been ignored in foreign policy. We cannot let these children down,โ Legena said. โItโs time to put children at the heart of all of Australiaโs development programs, with policies and resources that prioritise child protection and child rights.โ

The Bachelor Australiaofficially kicks off on July 31st, but this yearโs lucky suit Matt Agnew may have already spoiled the ending. Appearing on Novaโs Fitzy and Wippaโs radio show on Wednesday morning, one presenters sleuthing may have gotten the best of the astrophysicist.
Sarah decided to grill Matt in the studio, taking a guess at who The Bachelor winner could be.
Holding Channel 10โs full cast photo, Sarah said, โWe obviously havenโt met [the girls] yet, but weโve seen these piccies.
While we donโt know who wins the series just yet, we do know what happens in Episode Two thanks to a cheeky spoiler posted in a TV guide earlier this week. According to the description for Thursdayโs episode, which was shared online after a reader noticed the mistake and picked up by News.com.au, the unexpected intruders will leave the 20 contestants who arrived o
On whether heโs found love, the 32-year-old toldThe Courier Mail, โYes, I have. Iโm delighted with how the process worked out for me, and Iโm very, very happy.โ
โI went into it (the show) pretty confident in myself and that I would make the right decision for me,โ he continued.
n the first night unhappy, with some โnot willing to take the news lying downโ.

When you spot a Kardashian in the wild, more often than not itโs flitting between runway shows at Paris Fashion Week or heading into a private dinner party. But today, Kendall Jenner proved sheโs just like any normal woman by popping into a convenience store to grab a can of Coke โ albeit in a skintight dress, heels and a Prada bag.
Posting two photos of herself in the dress, including one captured on CCTV footage at the store, Jenner was obviously a fan of the tangerine coloured design, which Australian designers Bec + Bridge later claimed as their own on Instagram.
The brand revealed that the Karina Tuck Midi Dress has finally hit stores, and itโs just about time the perfect time to start thinking about your spring wardrobe. You can shop it here.
As for Kendall, this isnโt the first time sheโs been spotted in Bec + Bridge. The model wore the Aussie label for sister Kylieโs 21st birthday party and even chose the brand for her Oscarโs after party look. When it comes to designing clothes, weโd say they definitely have the KJ tick of approval.

Just in: Diagnoses of depression and anxiety disorders have surged dramatically among young women. Thatโs according to new data from the Housing Income and Labour Dynamics (HILDA) Survey โ which tracks the lives of 17,500 Australians each year.
Most alarmingly, just over 20% of women between the ages of 15 and 34 have been diagnosed with depression and anxiety disorders as reported by the nationwide survey.
While the climb spans across all age groups, it is most notable in the younger demographic with these conditions increasing from 12.8% in 2009 to 20.1% in 2017.
โWeโve seen particularly large increases amongst young women. For example, amongst women aged 15 to 34, we had approximately 13 per cent reporting being diagnosed with depression or anxiety in 2009,โ Professor Roger Wilkins, co-author of the HILDA report told the ABC. โIn 2017, that was up to 20 per cent. So one in five women in that age range has actually been diagnosed with the condition.โ
Experts have noted that there could be a link between the rise and our ever-increasing time spent online. โSome of the discussion between experts in the field is the rising use of social media and the role that might be playing,โ Professor Wilkins added. โParticularly as the growth has been strongest amongst younger people, who tend to be more actively engaged with social media.โ
20.1% of young women are battling with depression or anxiety

The state of affairs is similarly grim when it comes to young menโs mental health, with the biggest increase from 6.1% to 11.2% among 15 to 34 year-olds.
HILDA surveys collate data on the โreported diagnosisโ of depression and anxiety disorders so, it might just reflect an increase of people seeking professional help. Yet, many sufferers donโt seek help from a healthcare practitioner or remained undiagnosed. To get a clearer picture of whether there is a real increase, the National Health Survey surveys a sample of Australians about their symptoms rather than ask about whether they have been diagnosed. According to the NHS data; the percentage of the population reporting very high levels of depression and anxiety symptoms has been steady from 2001-2018.

20-year-old Carissa Pinkston โ a model known for her fiery red hair and unique freckles โ has seen her career saw in recent years. Pinkston has starred in high-fashion editorials for Marc Jacobs, Prabal Gurung, Edie Parker and even joined Rihannaโs Savage x Fenty gang. But, everything would come crashing down for Pinkston after fans called her out for previously posting transphobic comments and then subsequently beginning a complex lie pretending to be transgender to โavoid the backlashโ.
According to screenshots obtained by Twitter user @CeceliaJinks, Pinkston posted a few messages on Facebook in May under the name Rissa Danielle, writing, โBeing Transgender does NOT make you a woman. It makes you simply Transgender.โ In another post, Pinkston doubled down on her comment. โBeing Transgender does not make you a woman in a Transgender context according to gender and sex,โ she wrote. โThis is how they want to be perceived. In a biological context there are Females and Males. This is the world in 2019.โ
Following the messages, Pinkston retracted her statements and issued an apology in which she also came out as transgender. โI wasnโt ready to come about it yet but today I got fired and Iโve been receiving hate mail and death threats ever since so Iโm being forced to tell the truth,โ she wrote in a note she posted to her Instagram. โIโm Transgender. I transitioned at a very young age and Iโve lived my Life as a female ever since. Itโs been very hard to keep this secret but what I said about Trans-Women is a direct reflection of my inner securities and I have since come to realize that I am a Woman. WE ALL ARE!โ
However, several models within the community and those close to Carissa believe she only โcame outโ to avoid any further backlash. Transgender model Aaron Phillip spoke out against Pinkston, writing, โimagine being a model who got exposed for being a raging transphobe/saying extremely transphobic shit in the past and then resorting to LYING ABOUT BEING TRANSGENDER ONLINE FOR CLOUT IN ATTEMPT TO SAVE YOUR CAREERโฆ? i know this person irl and she is SO CISGENDER?? YโALL I-?โ
Pinkston posted another note to her Instagram, this time admitting to lying about being transgender and apologising for her comments.
โI apologise for any transphobic remark Iโve ever made towards the Trans community,โ she wrote in a screenshot of the note taken by another Twitter user. โI panicked and I thought if I came out as Trans that I could somehow make things better for myself but it appears Iโve only made things worse. Iโm truly sorry. Iโm only 20 and Iโm human. I make mistakes but I refuse to let them define me. I hope you all can forgive me and move on from this because Iโm so much more than this incident and Iโm not a coward.โ
Pinkston deleted all the posts and has now returned to promoting her recent fashion work.
