A brave mother-of-two has passed away after a two-year long battle for her life after she was set on fire by her boyfriend.
Ohio woman Judy Malinowski was doused in petrol and set alight by her boyfriend Michael Slager in August 2015.
Judy was left with fourth and fifth degree burns to 90 percent of her body, and lost both ears, her hair and two fingers, PEOPLE reports. She underwent 59 operations to keep her alive.
Judyโs mother, Bonnie Bowes, confirmed the sad news that her daughter passed away on Tuesday. โThat child suffered for two years to tell her own story, who has the strength to do it?โ she said.
News.com.aureports that Slager, Judyโs fomer fiancรฉ, claimed he had accidentally set her on fire while lighting a cigarette in Gahanna, Ohio. He was originally sentenced to 11 years in prison for aggravated arson, possession of criminal tools and assault, and will now face murder charges.
Judyโa former beauty queenโtold NBC4i in December: โI never knew that a human being could be so evil. He just stood there and did nothing. The look in his eyes was pure evil.โ

One of the major perks of having a famous fashion-designer of a dad comes when youโre designing your wedding gown.
Ally Hilfiger wed her longtime partner Steve Hash over the weekend, wearing a gown designed in collaboration with her father, Tommy Hilfiger.
The small ceremony took place on the Caribbean island of Mustique, where guests took to Instagram to share pictures of happy moments throughout the event, including Hilfiger giving his daughter away.

โSo happy for my daughter Allyโs wedding to @Steve hashโ The designer wrote.
The bride wore a cream v-neck slip dress, featuring an embroiled hood cape veil.
And it appears the bride wasnโt the only one in white, with her father and step-mother also donning the colour โ as seen in an Instagram from the big day.

Since the infamous sex tape of Kim Kardashian/Ray-J leaked in February 2007, the entire Kardashian Klan was thrust into the spotlight.
Now, โmomagerโ Kris Jenner has spoken publicly about the whole ordeal โ which might we add, netted her daughter Kim a cool $4.5 million. Not to mention, careers for her entire family.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the 61-year-old described the incident as โone of the most horrific things that we, as a family, went through.โ
However, when asked about the claims that the videoโs release was done by the family in an effort to attract publicity, Kris says she finds it โoffensive.โ
โOf course itโs nonsense,โ she said. โYou know, haters are gonna hate. People are gonna come up with the most ridiculous things.โ
As for who did leak the sex tape that put the famous family on the map, in the words of Kris Jenner herselfโฆ

Is there anything Zoรซ Foster Blake canโt do? Short answer: probably not.
The beloved beauty queen and author announced in May that having a toddler, being pregnant, having a beauty line and writing books/creating Podcasts just wasnโt enough and that sheโs stepping into the world of fashion for a collaboration with Australian cashmere and basics label Skin and Threads.
Announcing the range on her Instagram, Zoรซ wrote, โEveryoneโs always saying, โDesign more clothes, Zoรซ! Take your amateurish, uninformed and nonsensical ideas about style and weave them into fabric already!โ
โI promised thereโd be food-clothes (flothes) in my collaboration with@skinandthreads, and hereโs proof: the Iced VoVo sweater,โ she captioned the photo.
โThe perfect option for brunch with newly sugar-free pals, and a great way to remind everyone that youโre still firmly lodged in the โ80s when it comes to your confectionery choices.โ
Zoe also noted that the pre-sale for the range starts on July 13th (at skinandthreads.com) and the full range is in-store from August 7th.

Adele just broke all of our hearts with a handwritten note saying she may never go on tour again.
The British songstress, who last night played the final show of her world tour in London, hid the note inside the showโs programme, revealing that touring doesnโt suit her and saying, โI donโt know if Iโll ever tour again.โ
โSo this is it after 15 months on the road and 18 months of 25 we are at the end,โ the letter started.
โTouring is a peculiar thing, it doesnโt suit me particularly well. Iโm a real homebody and I get so much joy in the small things. Plus, Iโm dramatic and have a terrible history of touring. Until now that is!โ
https://www.instagram.com/p/BV41D0HFHAz/
โIโve done 119 shows and these last 4 will take me up to 123, it has been hard out an absolute thrill and pleasure to have done.โ
โI only ever did this tour for you and to hopefully have an impact on you the way that some of my favourite artists have had on me live.โ
โAnd I wanted my final shows to be in London because I donโt know if Iโll ever tour again and so I want my last time to be at home.โ
โThank you for coming, for all of your ridiculous love and kindness. I will remember all of this for the rest of my life. Love you. Goodnight for now.โ

A YouTube star has died after being shot in the chest by his pregnant girlfriend in a prank gone wrong.
Pedro Ruiz III reportedly held a hardcover encyclopedia in front of his chest, while his pregnant girlfriend MonaLisa Perez shot at it with a .50-calibre Desert Eagle gun.
โMe and Pedro are probably going to shoot one of the most dangerous videos ever. HIS idea not MINE,โ Perez wrote prior to the stunt.
Me and Pedro are probably going to shoot one of the most dangerous videos ever๐ณ๐ณ HIS idea not MINE๐
This morning, 19-year-old MonaLisa was charged with second-degree manslaughter for the death of 22-year-old Pedro, The Star Tribune reports.
โThey were in love. It was just a prank gone wrong,โ Pedroโs aunty told the Twin Cities Pioneer Press.
โHe told me he had an idea. I said, โDonโt do it, donโt do it. Why are you going to use a gun, why?โโ Ms Ruiz told Valley News Live. โโBecause we want more viewersโ, he said.โ
โI wish they wouldnโt have done it. I wish he wouldโve just done another prank. He was so young. He had so much going for himself.โ
MonaLisa is currently pregnant with the coupleโs second child. Their 3-year-old daughter was in the room at the time of the shooting.
Around an hour before Pedro was shot, MonaLisa wroteon Facebook, โWe are in the process of making Pedro a YouTube channel oh man is it going to be sweet! LOL.โ
โAll the crazy stuff will on his channel and mine will be our family life!!!โ

Endometriosis has an ugly distant cousin and it impacts around twenty percent of women before the age of 40. So why is Adenomyosis flying under the radar?
Professor Anusch Yazdaniโs description of a uterus affected with adenomyosis canโt be unheard โ โA big, boggy, pear-shaped organ.โ He is explaining the disease that causes severe pelvic pain, bloating, heavy menstrual bleeding and abnormal cycles in around one in five women in their thirties. โA healthy uterus is more plum-shaped than pear. Itโs, essentially, a firm, square box,โ the medical adviser to Endometriosis Australia and founding director of Eve Health continues.
Adenomyosis is frequently written off as endometriosis (and the two often coexist) because itโs difficult to investigate, requiring an ultrasound or MRI to indicate a problem and a biopsy after hysterectomy to be sure. Both diseases cause painful cycles and pain during sex but adenomyosis has a stronger association with heavy periods and breakthrough bleeding, as Professor Yazdani explains.
The disease strikes when the glands of the uterus lining grow inside the walls of the uterus, whereas endometriosis occurs when that lining travels outside the uterus to infiltrate fallopian tubes and pin ovaries where they shouldnโt be pinned. The result of adenomyosis is a uterus that can be described as globular. Cue the hot water bottle, and the complications when trying to conceive.
Dr Elizabeth Farrell, Medical Director of Jean Hailes for Womenโs Health and a gynaecologist, says, โFor a woman with severe period pain, adenomyosis would be one of the possible diagnoses. So itโs important to be assessed and investigated appropriately and this starts with a good womenโs health GP or gynaecologist.โ
The disease can cause ridiculous โ writhing on the bathroom floor โ pain every month. For other women, it only rears its ugly head when fertility becomes an issue. Is it on the rise? Not really. But as more women are trying to get pregnant during their 30s and 40s โ and investigating the inner workings of their reproductive systems โ the disease is becoming more present.
Dr Farrell says the numbers stack up. โ20 percent of adenomyosis will occur in women under the age of 40 and 80 percent will occur mainly in women aged between 40 and 50. About a third of women with adenomyosis will have no symptoms. Up to 30 percent will have painful periods, which is due to adenomyosis,โ she continues. According to Professor Yazdan, almost all women over the age of 40 have some degree of adenomyosis and it can be found in about one in five women in there 30s. โWe used to think it was related to childbirth but now we think itโs actually just ageing.โ
Is there hope? Options for controlling pain and bleeding are birth control to override hormone production or โ gulp โ hysterectomy. But what is a woman to do who is trying to conceive? Laparoscopic surgery will help indicate the issue but, unlike endometriosis, wonโt improve fertility. Yazdani suggests IVF to perfect ovulation. It wonโt fix the inside of the uterus but it will correct a number of other associated issues, equaling the playing field.

If you love to keep up with Pippa Middletonโs style as much as we do, youโll recall her visiting Australia for her honeymoon last month.
Her and new-husband James Matthews spent a few weeks down under, taking in the sights of Western Australian, Sydney and the Northern Territory.
Youโll also remember the black lace-up espadrilles she wore on three different occasions.
She teamed her Castaรฑer Wedge Espadrilles ($171) with a Kate Spade printed shirtdress, skinny jeans, and a cute striped number during her honeymoon.
And while everybody knows weโre self-confessed outfit repeaters, weโre filled with delight that Pippa is also guilty. Spotted out in London this week, the newlywed wore her favorite black espadrilles with a Dress With a Floral Print ($297) from Sandro. Weโre obsessed.

A teenager, who was allegedly gang raped while drunk at a party, cried and asked for her mum to be called after being found by her friend.
The then 15-year-old was in a dishevelled state saying, โI need to go home, I need to go home, someone ring my mum,โ according to the witness who testified in the Downing Centre District Court.
Christian Dickens, 22, Aaron Jensen, 23, and two other 21-year-old men (who were underage at the time and therefore canโt be named), are accused of attacking the young girl at a party in the Blue Mountains in 2012.
The friend who found her says a group of men standing in the doorway laughed when she asked where her friend was.
The Daily Mail reports Crown prosecutor Belinda Baker said the jury would hear the victim was told โshut up, you love it slutโ during the alleged assault.
Another witness says he saw four young men in the room with the girl. One was forcing her to give him oral sex while the other was forcing her to give him a โhand job.โ

We know that defining big eyes, bold brows and plump lips are sneaky makeup tips for the perfect selfie, but what about our hair? The season of crazy social schedules is upon us, and with flawless selfie-ready makeup we need the perfect undone hairstyle to match. So to ensure youโre well prepared for photos at a momentโs notice, here are the photo-ready hair tips you never knew you needed.
1. Fly-aways be gone
Thereโs nothing more frustrating than looking back at photos and having fly-aways poking out in every direction. A camera will pick these up more than you would expect, so to make sure they are nowhere in sight, invest in a dry oil or serum. Be careful not to choose one that has a high concentrate of alcohol as it has the potential to dry out your hair even more. Try: Moroccan Treatment Original
2. The messier the better
Hair has a tendency to look flatter in photos than it does in real life. To avoid this happening, once youโve finished styling, flip your hair over and run your hands through it to give it an undone finish. It will give a your hair natural movement and prevent it from looking lifeless in pics.
3. Add a shiny finish
Undone hair doesnโt mean it has to look dry, brittle or sun-damaged. To keep your hair looking shiny and luscious, look into buying a spray-on shine product. Try: Trevor Sorbie Precious Oils Shine Oil
4. Donโt overdose on the hairspray
As nice as it is to be confident that no hair will come out of place, too much hairspray can make hair look crunchy, matte and overdone through a camera lens. And since youโre opting for a little less glamorous and a lot more undone, try a light hold hairspray and go easy on your spritzes. Try: TRESemmรฉ Perfectly (Un)Done Ultra Brushable Hairspray

โMaria James was stabbed 28 times in her home. For 37 years, police have failed to solve her murder. Her two sons โ and one former top cop โ have never given up hope.โ
This reads the blurb of TRACE, the new true-crime podcast that is sitting at number one on the iTunes charts.
The podcast has made headlines recently, one: for its brilliant storytelling by ABC journalist and host, Rachael Brown. And two: for its utterly fascinating subject matter.
TRACE explores the lead-up, murder and subsequent investigation of Maria James, featuring scorned ex-lovers, a dizzying number of leads and ties to the Catholic church.
Speaking on The Project last night, Rachael Brown addressed what first intrigued her about the case:
โFor me personally, a couple of years ago I learnt a piece of informationโ she began โand I thought, why hasnโt this been followed up?โ
It was then the characters that kept her digging โYou have this mother, Maria James, who was fiercely protective of her boys. And that protectiveness, I think might have got her killed.โ
But ultimately, the bigger issues at hand were what kept her around: โI found that this case will have serious implications for a couple of institutions.โ

Weโve all heard the term Bridezilla. You know, those brides who go a little OTT on their big day, no matter what the cost.
In a new thread on Reddit, people have revealed their very best (worst) experiences with these brides, through shocking confessions.
It all started when Reddit user โCadbubbyโ took to the forum to ask: โWhat is the biggest bridezilla moment youโve witnessed?โ
Well, over 3,500 responses tell the tales of guests and bridesmaids who have suffered a the hands of controlling brides โ and trust us, the stories are entertaining.
1. No โUgly Peopleโ Allowed
โI saw a bride kick ugly people out of a group photo.โ
2. I Ruined The Wedding By Looking โBoredโ
โI was 17 and my dad was marrying a terrible woman. She made my brother and I walk my dad down the aisle. No big deal, whatever.
When the wedding was over, I was summoned to her hotel room so she could scream at me that I looked bored when I was standing next to my dad and I ruined her whole wedding. She then proceeded to tell me that I was not allowed to live with her and her children at her house and had to live at my dadโs house alone, where he would visit me on weekends.
Five months later, my dad takes me out to get Chinese food and tell me theyโre getting a divorce.โ
3. Too Pretty To Be A Bridesmaid
โA girl I know, Iโll call her Kate, was bridesmaid at a wedding. On the morning of the wedding the bride had a full on screaming bitch fit and demoted Kate from being bridesmaid because she had decided that Kate looked too pretty after having her makeup done and bride wanted to be the prettiest.โ
4. Donโt Tell A Brideszilla To Go To The Gym
โI used to work in a place that was like a wedding mall of sorts. They sold everything from the dress to the food to the DJโs and video production. It was a one stop shop. This lady came in and demanded to be refit. She was claiming they made her dress too small. Our staff quickly took her back and started ensuring their measurements were correct that they used to have the dress made. Nope. She had gained 15lbs since her fitting. My boss said, โMaโam, Iโm not sure how to say this, but youโve gotten bigger. The dress matches the measurements we took of you when you ordered the dress.โ She threatened to call all kinds of police and new โActionโ reporters. Ultimately my boss said, โIf you going to call anyone Iโd recommend a gym.โ The guy was brutal.
5. A Facebook Rant Gone Wrong
โOne day after her wedding, a friend I went to school with went on a rampage on Facebook about how none of her friends showed up to her big day and, the ones that did show up, didnโt dance or participate in anything at the reception. She blasted everyone and made her wedding party feel like shit because she spent too much money on unnecessary things that no one used (mainly the photo booth and tons of rented costumes and accessories to use in the booth). She made a second post an hour later complaining about all of the people that stopped her to take pictures and didnโt let her enjoy her party. It was hilarious to watch the comments flood in from people who went and were pissed and a few requested their gifts back. The kicker here is that a former classmate, someone who has a lot of mutual friends with the bride, lost his infant son earlier that week and the babyโs services fell on the same day as the wedding. Most of the people she was bitching at for not coming had opted to go to the childโs funeral service instead of her wedding. She lost a lot of respect and a lot of friends in two hours.โ
6. Donโt Worry About The Bride, Itโs The Mother Whoโs A Monster
โIโve been to something like 70 weddings, I worked as a waiter and busboy at a banquet hall. In my experience, the brideโs mother is the real terror. usually because, at least in my experience, itโs her and the father actually paying for everything. I saw the brides mother, leading a pack of bridesmaids like hunting dogs straining at their leashes, corner a co-worker and threaten to have the mafia violate and kill his family if he didnโt re-fold the napkins at every place setting.โ
7. An Upgrade Worthy Tantrum
โWhen I was about thirteen I was flying with my folks to visit family in Hawaii. While we were waiting for our flight, I overheard a woman throwing a temper tantrum to the desk agent. She kept going on and on about how she was the bride and how she needed to be upgraded to first class or it was going to ruin her honeymoon. Screaming, crying, like full on toddler style temper tantrum.โ
8. Donโt Leave Weapons Near A Brideโs Mother
โI was working at a catering company back in high school. At one job, I saw the mother of the bride at a wedding pick up the carving knife at the beef carving station and almost stab the guy responsible for the beef. She stopped herself before doing it, but the guy had genuine terror in his eyes.โ
9. I Was Told I Was Trying To Make Myself โUglierโ
โSpent weeks crying to my sister and I that โNo one is happy enough that weโre getting married!โ She literally wanted us to call her once a week and tell her how happy we were that she was getting hitched, and how lucky we felt to be in her wedding party.
When we went bridesmaid dress shopping, she broke down crying when we chose the less expensive dress and accused us all of trying to ruin her big day by making ourselves uglier. Yes, uglier.
The next day, she called me to tell me I was out of the wedding party because I just wasnโt the kind of person she wanted in her wedding. You know, after we bought the dresses. She then invited other people to take my, and my sisterโs place, in her wedding party, with the expectation that sheโd be able to give them the dresses weโd paid for. She called, screaming that I had ruined EVERYTHING when she went to pick up her bridesmaidโs dresses and was 2 short. I had called and cancelled the order, and gotten a refund.
Yes, I got a refund from Davidโs Bridal. AMA.โ
10. Only The Bride Deserves Compliments, People
โNot to me, but to my sister: her boyfriendโs sister was getting married that day and my sister came to their house early to help her into the dress. They came out of a room at the same time, and the father of the bride wasnโt able to see his daughter clearly, so he told my sister that she looked beautiful that day. The bride got offended because she thought her father had ignored her for my sister, and they had to spend an hour trying to coax her out of the room she locked herself into to cry and scream.โ
11. Bride Approved Guests Only
โBride didnโt allow the groom to pick who he wanted to come for his side of the wedding. Only Bride-approved groomsmen, best man, family, etc. I wasnโt invited, so I canโt comment on how the wedding went. Iโd been the groomโs best friend for the previous 17 years but generally disliked how incredibly controlling his girlfriend (now wife) was. His own brother wasnโt invited to the wedding either (same reason).โ
12. Donโt Mess With The Theme
โBride slapped her husband and left him at the alter as he was wearing a red tie instead of a bright pink flowery one that she wanted all the men to wear to fit in with her โpink princess weddingโ, she told him in a text that he had โruined her special dayโ. Only her nephew was wearing the tie, he was a 1-year-old.โ
13. But Of Course
โThe bride asked me what colour her bridesmaids should wear (I was one.) I told her that given all five of us were redheads, a pale, pastel lilac is the only colour which should be avoided, as it makes us look dead. Guess what dresses she picked? Floor length silk, pastel lilac. I assumed sheโd forgot. Her sweet husband later told me, completely nonplussed, that of course the bride has to put bridesmaids in awful dresses because she has to be the prettiest on the day.โ
14. Do Not Have A Wedding During That Time Of The Month
โBride RESENTED the decision to do the wedding on this day because she was on her period and was overly dramatic about his suit not being โelegantly fitting for her weddingโ and not matching her โfabulous dress.โโ
15. Itโs My Big Day Year
โMy sister in law threw a massive fit because my other brother proposed to his girlfriend and they wanted to get married in the same year, but months apart (June vs December). She said it was her special year and didnโt want her attention taken, even though they waited 3 years to get married. My other brother ended up just waiting โtil January the next year.โ

Jennifer Lawrence is no fan of the spotlight. While sheโs always made time for her fans, and is polite in formal interviews about her work, the actress has gone to great lengths to keep her private life to herself.
She doesnโt overshare on social media โ or share at all โ and sheโs not one to engage with paparazzi for attention. So, understandably, she wasnโt too thrilled when she was hounded by photographers at the airport, especially since they were asking questions about her recent emergency landing.
J-Law made a break for the car with her gorgeous dog Pippi, when a TMZ employee attempted to pet the pup. The actress turned around and pulled Pippi away, before telling the pap: โdonโt touch my dog you f*cking loser.โ
Before trolls attempt to slam Jen as โrudeโ or โungratefulโ itโs worth noting that the actress avoids such media attention wherever possible and has often been seen hiding her dog from bright flashes of invasive paps. More importantly, the guy didnโt even ask before touching Pippi, which is a big no-no in any kind of dog scenario.
Snaps to Jen for sticking up for herself and her pooch!

A Sydney supermarket employee has had ten extra charges laid against him after he was accused of up-skirting customers and filming colleagues in the toilet for his own sexual arousal.
According to reports on The Sydney Morning Herald, Bibek Guragain, was arrested after an 18-year-old woman noticed a phone in a toilet area of a Surry Hills Woolworths store about 10pm on Saturday.
Information obtained in court documents alleges that the 23-year-old from Hurstville filmed people without their consent for โfor the purpose of obtaining sexual arousal or gratification.โ
Police also found footage of private parts, as well as up skirting vision of female customers on the phone.
Covering his face, Guragain left Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday. He was accused of committing offences โ usually late night or early morning โ between February and June 2017.
His original charges included three counts of filming a person in private act and two counts of filming a personโs private parts without consent.
However, an extra 10 charges of filming a personโs private parts were added.
A Woolworths spokesperson said the โcompany is co-operating with police in their investigations. The safety of consumers and staff was of utmost importance.โ

A Melbourne nurse with a history of drug use has successfully blamed โsweaty sexโ for her most recent positive drug test.
Tara Seymour, a mother-of-one who has been nursing since 2011 at the John Fawkner Private Hospital in Coburg, said that the night before her urine sample, she engaged in sexual activity with a man who was high on cocaine.
Seymour, who was already required to do routine drug tests after testing positive for methamphetamine, amphetamine and non-prescribed sedative zolpidem, told the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal that she had no idea her lover was under the influence, and hadnโt showered or urinated between the time of the sex and her drug test that afternoon.
Chemical pathologist Julia Chang told the Board it was theoretically possible to record a positive urine test from cross contamination sex, she considered this was โhighly improbableโ and unlikely to produce the levels recorded by Ms Seymour, The Herald Sun reports.
While the Board found Seymourโs story โunlikelyโ, by arguing her case, the nurse, who is called โpassionateโ by her colleagues, managed to reduce the frequency of her drug tests.
VCAT deputy president Heather Lambrick says that the Board canโt understand how if Seymour has indeed given up drugs, or is, at the most, a recreational user, how she couldnโt abstain from using drugs even during a period when she knew she was being tested.
โMs Seymour was well aware of the necessity to comply with the conditions on her registration. She was seemingly unable to do so,โ Lambrick noted.
Ms Seymourโs case will be reviewed in three months.

Iโve recently learned that I fit into a demographic known as the โXennialsโ โ a microslice of the populace born between 1977 and 1983 who are neither as morose and put-upon as the long-suffering Generation X or as perky and creative as Millennials.
We grew up blissfully analogue (free-to-air TV, postcards, โgo outside with your brother and donโt come back til dinner timeโ) and came of age during the blossoming of the internet (online dance music forums, SMS without predictive text or emojis, โcreativeโ email addresses that included witty rave culture references). Weโve always fallen through the generational cracks and never really had our own descriptor but suddenly everyoneโs talking about us. Itโs pretty cool that weโve given Mamamia and Uprox and the Guardian some fresh content for a day or two as they analysed and fretted over our place in the world, but we really hope no one went to too much trouble.
Really, weโre fine over here, with our cautiously mid-level jobs and our low-key social media presence and our fond nostalgia for Dolly magazine and Party of Five and easy engagement with Lena Dunham and The Bachelor. Honestly, donโt even worry about it โ weโre sure weโll find a way to buy a house eventually, or weโll just keep renting โ thatโs cool. And weโll scrape by somehow as the modern workplace evolves because we learned our trade offline before we learned it online (I can write you a 2000 word investigative print feature or a Buzzfeed-style listicle โ just let me know what you need.)
Party of Five was cool but there are lots of great things to watch these days too.
Weโve been through some serious upheaval in our lives since our carefree 1980s childhoods but weโre chugging along just fine, really. It was terribly sad when Kurt Cobain died but we were more worried about our older Gen X brothers and sisters who seemed to sink into a permanent malaise as a result โ hope youโre feeling a little bit better these days, guys. Holler if we can do anything.
September 11 and the perpetual Middle East wars that followed were a wrenching shock to us, a generation who hadnโt experienced anything much scarier than the Thredbo landslide, and the world seems to be going to hell in a handbasket ever since but weโre reasonably upbeat about an Elizabeth Warren, Emmanuel Macron or Jeremy Corbyn stepping in to set things to rights sooner or later. Someone more engaged than us will figure it out, probably.
Of course weโre on Facebook and Twitter โ theyโre a cool way to keep up with our friends who we donโt really see because no one can ever get their acts together to organise anything, but trying to get a blue tick would be a bit OTT, wouldnโt it? I suppose I could start a podcast but I havenโt really had time to cultivate a โpassionโ or โfind my best selfโ or become an expert in any field so it seems a bit silly. Iโve toyed with starting an Instagram account for my dog but it all seems a little ostentatious plus Iโm only semi-across the best ways to use Instagram filters without it looking like Iโm trying too hard, and anyway some underemployed 24-year-old has started an account about her kelpie thatโs be much better than mine would be and Iโm a bit tired and wouldnโt mind a nap.
The point is weโll be absolutely fine regardless of all of the above, seriously donโt stress.
Yes, we know our Baby Boomer parents are gleefully spending our entire inheritance which is going to hurt when we need cash to help our own kids deal with their inevitable opiate or ice addictions and chronic underemployment. But what do you want us to do โ have a conversation with them about it? Thatโd be awkward, and anyway theyโre very busy with their new kids and their holidays and their sugar-free diets and we wouldnโt want to get in the way.
And yes, thereโs the possibility that our younger colleagues are about to nick our jobs but good on them โ theyโre really smart and creative and entrepreneurial and Iโm sure theyโll give us a quiet background job in their new start-up if weโre polite and efficient and donโt try to overshadow anyone.
Anyway, Iโm going to wrap this up because I want to book that new brunch place that opened a few months back now that the crowds have died down a bit and the hashtag for the signature dish has been established so I know what to use when I post a pic of it. I was also going to look into that new โideas festivalโ at the Opera House โ I heard the Chaser are doing at least three โin conversationsโ with some people who once worked on This American Life โ but I just checked and itโs all sold out. I never hear about these things until long after everyone else and the tickets are gone. Itโs all good.
Hey, really, thanks for coming up with a new name for us, internet. We donโt often get a chance to grab the news cycle for any reason and itโs been an eye-opener to talk about ourselves for a day or two. But weโre more than happy to hand the dayโs conversation back to the serious Gen Xers whoโve probably got an in-depth analysis of the Russian special prosecutor probe to send viral, or the bubbly Millennial lifestyle bloggers whoโve come up with a genius new recipe for carb-free pasta in the shape of unicorns.
Back to you guys, really. Weโll be over here if you need us.

A mother and her two daughters have been found dead in a lavish Gold Coast apartment in what police are suspecting was a suicide pact.
One of the victimโs husbands returned home to the apartment on the luxurious Ephraim Island to find the three womenโs bodies, with emergency services immediately called to the scene.
BREAKING: Police treating the deaths of 3 woman on the Gold Coast as suspicious but investigating if it was a suicide pact. @KrystalENewspic.twitter.com/KOo3woyOTd
The deceased, believed to be 78-year-old Margaret Cummins and her two daughters Wynette and Heather, aged 54 and 53, died from suffocation, with police saying there are no suspicious circumstances.
Itโs thought the trio suffered mental health issues, with police saying the husband is not surprised the act happened.
โ(The husband) is not surprised that has happened, I think heโs surprised itโs three of them at once,โ Detective Senior-Sergeant Mark Procter said, as reported by The Gold Coast Bulletin.

If youโre a ride or die Sex and the City fan, youโll agree that one of the best ever moments came when they announced Mr. Bigโs real name in the 2004 series finale.
In the last scene, when Carrie Bradshawโs on and off love interest, Mr. Big, rang her bedazzled flip-phone, it was revealed his name was actually John Preston โ essentially closing the book on the mystery that was Chris Nothโs famous character.
As a moment that has gone down as one of the best in the series, we were shocked to learn that the now-famous scene almost didnโt happen.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the showโs executive producer Michael Patrick King revealed it was a spare of the moment decision:
โIn the last episode, in the last moment, I realised [I had] to say Mr. Bigโs name and I just [mimes typing on a keyboard] โJohn,โโ King said.
โAnd then I told all the writers and they were like, โWhat the hell?โ And I was like, โWe have to say this name because now heโs real!โโ
Admittedly, however, he didnโt always know Mr. Bigโs name was John.
โIn my mind? He had no name,โ explained King. โIt was just one of those things where itโs like, โOh, itโs happening right nowโ and you didnโt plan it.โ
And why John? you ask. Well, apparently Mr. Big deserved โthe most generic, American, almost pilgrim name.โ
King also described what it was like to have created a character as iconic as Bradshaw, who was a true metaphor for the modern-age woman of the time. โShe was good and bad; noble and a failure; nice and selfish.โ he said.

Popular Australian comedian Fiona OโLoughlin has opened up about her near death experience, after unknowingly suffering carbon monoxide poisoning.
Carbon monoxide poisoning, which is often referred to as the โsilent killerโ, is produced by common household appliances and humans often donโt realise they have it at all.
Fiona says hers was from the heater at her house, and that her โdemonsโ โ such as her alcohol addiction โ stopped her from noticing the signs.
โIt went over the course of a month. I forgot things, I thought I was getting early Alzheimerโs,โ she said on Gold104.3โs Jo & Lehmo show. I was forgetting things, forgetting my kidsโ names.โ
โI was forgetting things, forgetting my kidsโ names. But then I did forget I was an alcoholic.โ
She says that, eventually, the carbon monoxide poisoning almost killed her, leaving her in a coma for over a month: I was โvery, very unwell.โ
โI was given a 7 per cent chance of life. Guess what? I didnโt die,โ Fiona said.
The comedian also revealed that upon waking up from her coma, her sisters played a pretty hilarious joke on her.
โEmily and Kate, my two sisters, played the worst joke on me. Iโm three days out of a coma. They were talking into their wrists, and Emily said โTheyโre microchips in our wrists. Weโve all got them.โ Kate said, โYou know youโve been in a coma for seven years?โ I lost my mind.โ

There isnโt much we love more than when an Australian embraces our designers with pride โ thatโs why Margot Robbieโs latest outfit has us all kinds of excited.
Last night, the 26-year-old attended an intimate dinner which she hosted alongside Nicky Zimmerman celebrating the opening of Zimmermannโs flagship London store.
The bombshell actress opted for a cream, v-neck lace Zimmermann dress with embodied appliquรฉ on the neck โ a classic style for the brand.
She paired the summery dress with black open-toe heels and loose, wavy hair.
This event comes just days after Margot attended Glastonbury Festival, where she enjoyed a low-key weekend with the aid of a number of disguises.

The 33-year-old actress wore a white singlet and denim overalls while out without her husband, Ashton Kutcher, and their two children.
Just last week, Ashton revealed details about the coupleโs first kiss, saying on The Howard Stern Show, that initially, the pair thought the romance wasnโt anything serious.
โI was still a smoker, and she had quit smoking, and she was like โ like, she wanted me to, like, shotgun a cigarette smoke in, like, so she could breathe it in. And I was like: โW-all right,โ he recalled.
โSo I started doing this, gradually, through the night, it got closer and closer and closer.โ

Kyle and Jackie O are known for their funny antics, but the radio hosts may have gone a little too far when they called their coworker inter Pete an โidiotโ.
In a video posted on Facebook, Sandilands passes the producer a vase, which was sent in as a gift. Intern Pete then accidentally drops the clay ornament and Sandilands reacts in an aggressive manner.
โOh Jesus Peter! Are you joking?โ Sandilands cuts off an interview.
โYou idiot! What? You idiotโ Jackie O chimed in.
Sandilands then claims that perhaps Intern Pete dropped the vase intentionally.
โYou did that on purpose, you piece of sh*tโฆ He dropped it on the floor on purpose โ the bloody big pot and broke it into a million little pieces,โ he said.
Pete then defends himself and says it was simply an accident.
However, the comments section of the video posted on social media proved fans of the show were quick to stick up for Intern Pete.
โPoor Pete he gets spoken to so badly on the showโฆ anyway looked accidental to me,โ one user said.
โTo me it lookโs like it was an accident, be easy on the poor man Iโm sure he feels bad about the drop,โ said another.
โFunny we teach kids not to bully each other every day yet adults are calling adults idiots. Jackie, you should be ashamed. If your daughter came home and said someone called her an idiot will you think itโs OK? Intern Pete is someoneโs son,โ one more viewer wrote.
Following the incident, a social media manager of the KIIS FM account has replied and admitted that perhaps it was a case of misjudgement.
โAfter looking at the video we think poor intern Pete dropped the pot accidentally,โ the comment said.
โAt the time we thought he may have done it on purpose hence the shock and disgust on our faces. It was clearly an accident and mistakes happen Pete.
โWe love you mate (even though you are really clumsy but we love you for that too).โ

โOh my God, this canโt be โ Iโve got to play a tournament,โ Serena said in her cover interview of seeing the positive pregnancy test. โHow am I going to play the Australian Open? I had planned on winning Wimbledon this year.โ
Just to be sure, Serena took a further five tests (all of which came up positive), before handing one over to her fiancรฉ, Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian.
โIt just doesnโt seem real,โ she says. โI donโt know why. Am I having a baby? I donโt know what to do with a baby. I have nothing โฆ Iโve done absolutely nothing for the baby room.โ
Alexis, however, is already popping money into a โtip jarโ every time he swears, in a bid to make sure he wonโt curse in front of the newborn.

On April 15th, 2016, at just 14 years old, Kim Edwards and her boyfriend Lucas Markham murdered Kimโs mother and younger sister while they slept.
The pair then cleaned themselves up, had sex, ate ice cream and watched the movie Twilight.
Kim and Lucas, who are Britainโs youngest double-murderers, were quickly dubbed the โTwilight Killersโ.
Now, their chilling confession tapes have been released, in the new documentary Murdered By My Daughter which aired overnight in the U.K.
Kim and Lucas
In her confession, Kim says she felt โrelievedโ after killing her mum, Elizabeth, and sister, Katie.
โMy mum does not have to deal with me anymore being suicidal, and she does not have to wake up worrying every morning to see if I am still alive,โ she says, as reported by The Sun.
Kim explains she had Lucas kill her 13-year-old younger sister so that she didnโt have to go โthrough all the heartbreak and like just all the emotions and stuffโ of losing her mother.
โBasically me and Kimโฆ she knew I hated her mum, and I said โI wish I could kill herโ and she said โyeah,'โ Lucas said.
โShe thought I was joking but I was being serious. Then she realised I was being serious so she started being serious.โ
The documentary alleges that Kim and Lucas were planning to commit suicide after the murders, but that Kim couldnโt go through with it.
โI went into her mumโs room and stabbed her in the neck while she was asleep on her side and smothered her face with a pillow,โ Lucas told police.
โAnd after I knew she had gone, I went into Katieโs room โ which is the same room as Kimโs โ and I thought I stabbed her, butโฆI thought I stabbed her, but Iโm not a hundred percent sure. It was, like, her on a mattress and then I smothered her face with a pillow too.โ
Elizabethโs oldest daughter has since said sheโs disgusted at the Channel 5 documentary, telling The Daily Mailthat it drags her โmumโs name through the dirt.โ

A Victorian womanโs pregnancy photo has gone viral this week, after she sent her heartwarming story into The Today Show.
Joanna McKee, a 40-year-old from Ballarat, revealed she was 25-weeks pregnant.
The mother-to-be said she had been trying for six years, where she endured nine rounds of IVF and suffered five heartbreaking miscarriages.
The Today Showโs post has since received more than 10,000 reactions and 50 shares.
Speaking to Honey, Mckee said she and her husband Leigh, 44, immediately tried to start their family after marrying six and a half years ago.
โWe conceived naturally, and I miscarried at about eight weeks. We didnโt worry too much at that point because we just thought it wasnโt meant to be and weโll just go again,โ she said, adding that they tried for one year.
McKee was then diagnosed with โsevereโ endometriosis before undergoing an operation and later, trying IVF.
โLast year we lost twins at about 10 weeks, and that was really awful.โ
โItโs been extremely tough financially. The only holidays weโve had have been regional weekends away, or to Adelaide for the IVF treatments.โ
McKee told The Daily Mail she hoped her story could give some hope to others in a similar position. She also added that the response to her photo had been overwhelming.
โThe traction this has got is amazing, and not something I had anticipated when I sent my pic in for a selfie story.โ
โI think goes to show how common it is โ if you arenโt doing it then you probably know someone who is.โ
Joanna McKee and husband, Leigh
Ms McKee said that while she is excited with the news, she and her husband are still wary.
โWeโre obviously over the moon about getting this far but still nervous due to our history, and will be nervous until we are actually holding the baby,โ she said.
โOur obstetrician in Ballarat has been amazing and very reassuring, heโs given us regular scans so that we can see the baby.โ
โItโs been extremely tough โ emotionally, physically and financially, but when a round didnโt work or we lost a pregnancy then we tried to focus on the positives.โ
โWe were never told it couldnโt happen for us which is why we carried on but we would have considered other options โ adoption, for instance, if we had been told to stop trying.โ
If you or someone you know is struggling with issues surrounding a miscarriage, stillborn or newborn death, contact Sands Australia for support and information.

Shania Twain has opened up about her recent health battle in a new interview with The Los Angeles Times. The 51-year-old singer revealed to the publication that she has contracted Lyme disease.
The country star told the publication that the medical condition dysphonia led to her vocal struggles in 2011, but that her recent battle with the autoimmune disease has also led to vocal strains.
โI learned a lot about myself, and my voice, both because Iโd been having a lot of problems with my voice prior, and because this was a real plunge into the unknown,โ she told The Los Angeles Times.
Lyme disease an infection caused by a bacteria spread through ticks and can be incredibly painful with symptoms including, rashes, joint pain and weakness in limbs.
Shania said that voice-strengthening exercises and vocal warm-ups have helped her recover.
โA singerโs typical problem is nodules on the vocal cords from overuse or poor technique,โ she said. โThat was not my problem. My problem isnโt unique, or rare, but the exercises are very different than for nodules, and I canโt get an operation for mine.โ
Now that the singer has overcome her hurdles and is treating herself, fans can expect a new album which is set to be released in September.

Keeping Up With Kim Kardashian West has proven to be pretty easy when you simply have to follow her adventures on social media โ however one picture has caused public outrage.
Taking to Facebook, the 36-year-old mother of two shared a snap of her son Saint facing forward in a car seat, which some followers have taken issue with.
Several fans flocked to the comment section to point out that car seats which face forward actually violate a California law that mandates children under the age of two sit in a rear-facing car seat. The mogulโs son will be two in December.
Still though, the rule isnโt clear cut.
Any toddler who weighs more than 18kgs or is at least 100cmtall can be exempt from the law, therefore Kardashian isnโt necessarily breaking it, particularly as it us unknown if the photo was documented in the Californian state.

We all know celebrities have long been fans of unconventional pampering techniques. And the latest comes from Australian bombshell Margot Robbie.
The 26 year-old has dished on her bizarre beauty techniques, saying that she uses $7 nipple cream as lip balm.
โI use Bepanthen, which is actually a nipple cream for breastfeeding mothers or diaper rash cream for babies,โ she said to Cosmopolitan UK.
I have a conspiracy theory that lip balms actually have additives in them to dry your lips out so you keep buying them. But because Bepanthen is just a cream for dry skin, it works. Itโs what Iโve used my whole life.โ
Her odd beauty hacks didnโt stop there, however. Robbie also says that she insists on brushing foundation into her eyebrows and hairline to make sure it looks natural.
And what about getting the product into those finer areas? A toothbrush, of course.
โWhen I put on foundation, I use an eyebrow brush or toothbrush to brush it into my hairline so that it all blends,โ she said. โEspecially because I have blonde hair but tanned skin, if I donโt blend it, it looks gross โ you can see the foundation in my hair.โ
Yep, the Australian actress opts for a plain old toothbrush instead of brushes or beauty blenders. Weโre guessing the bristles feel like gentle massage? Or maybe theyโre just a fail-safe tool you can always find around the house?
โI do that every single day, and every time my husband [Tom Ackerley] is like, โWhat are you doing?โ And I say, โIโm brushing my make-up into my hairline!โ And heโs like, โGirls are crazy.'โ
Either way, this isnโt the first time Margot has admitted to mixing up her beauty routine. Speaking to Marie Claire US last month, she opened up about some of the unconventional methods she has tried.
โWhen I visited the Philippines last year I had a really crazy one. First I was smothered all over in clay, then I was wrapped up in banana leaves and my whole face was covered in cucumbers too!โ Margot said.
โBy the time it was done I was totally mummified and couldnโt move at all and then I was left to lie like that for an hour. I mustโve looked like a fruit bowl but it did actually feel really nice afterwards.โ

In March this year, John Eligon, The New York Times National Correspondent, came to Australia for the first time to film a special documentary for Foreign Correspondent. While heโs used to reporting on issues of race in America, Eligon didnโt quite know what to expect when he landed in Kununurra in the Kimberley, Western Australia.
When I landed in Kununurra it wasโฆ hot. Stinking hot. I came from Sydney and as soon I got into town, I realised Kununurra was nothing like that at all. Unlike a cosmopolitan city, Kununurra is a very humble place. Despite the beauty, wealth and resources in the Kimberley, itโs still this very ordinary place that really doesnโt have a lot of excess or extravagance.
Walking down the main street, I saw a lot of people hanging out, which isnโt shocking to me because people hang out on the street in many US communities. But to see young kids smoking โ that was definitely sad.
Indigenous suicide rates in Western Australian communities are among the worst in the world. It shocked me how normalised itโs become there. I met a young woman from Kununurra called Zeritta whose close cousin (whom she called a sister) committed suicide out of the blue. She wasnโt a particularly sad girl, but she had gotten into an argument with her family and, just like that, she killed herself. Itโs so shocking to me that thatโs the first option: you have a tough time with your family, so you go and kill yourself. Thatโs mind-blowing.
Zeritta opens up about the loss of her cousin in tonightโs Foreign Correspondent special. (Credit: Greg Nelson)
And that has a flow on effect. Zeritta had a great upbringing and a good education, but she started having suicidal thoughts because her cousin killed herself. That psychology becomes normalised and itโs very sad.
One of biggest issues facing Indigenous Australians is the way theyโre viewed. When I came to Australia, I expected there to be problems, but the way Indigenous people seem to still not be trusted to take care of themselves surprised me. The state still feels like thereโs a need to control them and oversee every little thing theyโre doing. That, to me, was drastic and shocking.
I think the issue is with empowerment. If they mess up, they mess up. But they need to have that agency in life.

There are many similarities between the way people are marginalised in America and Australia. Thereโs a stereotype that these people are lazy and want to take the governmentโs money.
The conversation about race in the US is a very hard one to have, but I think itโs even harder in Australia. For one, Indigenous people are a smaller percent of the population. Also, I think Australians have a hard time coping with what happened when Australia massacred its first people and took their lands away from them.
I would hate to say that Australia could learn much from America in terms of race relations because America is far from perfect. One thing Australians could learn from Americans is how to confront the conversation head on. You need to be willing to argue about it. In America, most people donโt agree, but the mere fact that the argument is going on helps significantly. We need to allow that argument to happen because, at the very least, the discussion can make people think twice about things and force institutions to change.
(Credit: Greg Nelson)
In America, there have been protests about police practice and now police departments are having to implement new policies on how they deal with people of colour โ that was all because of pressure put on just by talking about it. Donโt be afraid to have a very hard discussion โ and yell at each other โ because you donโt know what type of change that can bring.

Oh, the eternal battle that is waiting for your hair to grow โ which never seems to happen at the speed you were hoping (especially post bad haircut). So why does it seem to grow so slowly, especially when compared to your best friend who has long hair down to her derriere? We spoke to the hair experts about the bad habits you need to stop, and the good habits that will give your locks the best possible chance of growing healthier and faster.
Bad hair habits you need to stop doing ASAP
Megan Yabsley, Education Manager for De Lorenzo explains, โthe hair growth cycle lasts on average between two to four years. This cycle can be interrupted by many different life events.โ Such events may include high levels of stress and crash dieting habits. By fixing these issues, you can โhelp to maintain health on the inside, which will help your body grown healthy, beautiful hair,โ Yabsley adds.
Nadia Valerio, the co-founder of Pure Hair Food, says some quick fixes also include giving the ponytail a rest! โWearing tight hairstyles all the time damages your hair growth by not allowing the strands to receive the oxygen they need to breathe.โ She also recommends not washing your hair every day, and insteadmake dry shampoo your BFF. (You donโt need to tell us twice!). โTry and wash your hair twice a week and extend your style with dry shampoo in between. Your hair will thank you for the extra natural oils,โ Valerio says.
Good habits that will give your longer, healthier hair
Renya Xydis, celebrity hairstylist and owner of Valonz, explains her top tip for promoting healthier (and longer) hair is to always apply a heat protectant before using hot styling tools. โPeople are not using heat protectants, which is so silly because it acts like a sunscreen, blocking out high heat temperatures to protect the hair from sizzling,โ Xydis says. Yabsley adds that heat damaged hair wonโt hold colour, is hard to manageable and is prone to breakage โ she recommends using a product such as De Lorenzo Defence Thermal Spray with Argan Oil prior to heat styling.
Another product to invest in is a leave-in moisturiser that contains UV protection to reduce split ends, colour fade and wearing down of the cuticle layer. As a result, you can trim your hair less often. Xydis explains that every six weeks is ideal but you can push it out to around eight if youโre taking good care of your hair: โtrimming your hair regularly speeds up hair growth as it gets rid of damaged and split ends, which will only split further and break off [if you donโt remove them],โ she says.
A key element to healthy hair is a healthy diet. Valerio explains, โitโs no secret that eating well can improve your health but itโs also the key to giving you luscious locks, tooโ. Valerio recommends ingredients that are rich in omega 3 fatty acids, like salmon, soybean, spinach or chia, and lots of protein, including lean white meat, dark leafy veggies and Greek yoghurt. โThese ingredients will keep hair strong and shiny, plus keep hair loss to a minimum, especially during winter months.โ
Quick fixes also include treating yourself to a scalp massage, investing in a silk pillowcase like theMercer + Reid Pure Silk Standard Pillow Case (the lack of friction reduces breakage), and using a weekly detox shampoo (such as Pure Hair Food Detox Your Hair Clarifying Shampoo) to give your scalp a deep cleanse and โincrease blood circulation to your hair follicles,โ explains Valeria.

Jeffrey Rackover usually makes news for his jewellery designs, favoured by celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Diana Ross and President Trump.
Today, however, the designer is making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
According to a new lawsuit, Jeffery allegedly attempted to help a young man he calls โhis sonโ cover up a murder in the swanky Upper East Side apartment he was renting for him.
According to The New York Post, The 57-year-old diamond middleman provided paper towels and other cleaning supplies to cover up a murder by James Rackover, a man he reportedly shared a drug-fueled โintimate relationshipโ with while claiming to be his โparent.โ
Confused? Us too.
Jeffrey Rackover (pictured)
Joseph โJoeyโ Comunale was stabbed to death in November 2016, after a night of clubbing at the Gilded Lily in Chelsea.
Surveillance video footage shows Comunale, 26, and Lawrence Dilone, 28, escorting three girls out of Jamesโ apartment shortly before 7am that morning.
They were then seen returning to the room.
During a fight which allegedly ensued over cigarettes, Dilone knocked out Comunale before James started strangling and stabbing him. James also attempted to dismember Comunale with a serrated knife, according to a confession Dilone allegedly made to the police.
The new lawsuit claims there is video evidence that supports this, as well as surveillance that shows Jeffrey, who lives on the 32nd floor, visiting James on the fourth floor, following the crime.
The police said the apartment was scattered with blood and โsmelled from cleaning chemicals and the stench of deathโ from Comunaleโs โdecomposing body.โ
James Rackover arrest
On top of this, Jeffrey alledgedly allowed James to use his 2015 Black Mercedes-Benz to haul the corpse to Oceanport NJ, where authorities say that James and Dilone burnt Comunaleโs body and buried the remains in a shallow ditch.
The suit, alleges that James and the jewellery designer were engaged in an intimate relationship. James legally changed his last name from Beaudion to Backover in March 2015 โ after claiming to have learned Jeffery was his โreal father.โ

Speaking to The Post, Joseph Comunaleโs grieving father, Pat, said he sued Jeffery Rackover to โget justice for my sonโ and โhold everybody involved accountable for this horrific crime.โ
โThese guys need to go away for a long time. All of them โ and whoever else.โ

In October 2016, police found Amanda Arbib in western Sydney with MasterCard and Visa cards belonging to 11 different people.
The 26-year-old former private schoolgirl, who says she spiralled out of control after the loss of her father in 2013, had an ice addiction which became so bad that she later admitted to police that she kept a bag of the drug stashed in her bra.
Yesterday at Sydneyโs Downing Centre court, Amanda narrowly avoided jail, after pleading guilty to fraudulently obtaining money by stealing credit cards and other items.
Magistrate Grogin told Ms Arbib of his ruling: โYou are now on knifeโs edge and you are in charge of that knife. If you fail to comply with every single aspect of the ICO, those sentences will crystallised and you will go to jail.โ
Before going on to say, โJail is not a place for anybody to be, especially for a young lady like you.โ
โIโd like to give other young people the courage that although itโs almost impossible, if I can do it, so can you,โ Amanda told The Daily Telegraphof getting clean.
โAlso I know my father would be proud of me, may he rest in peace, and mum youโre a wonder woman. I love you, thank you for your unconditional love and support.โ

A few days ago, the world went crazy over the โnewsโ that aM15 agent had confessed to the murder of Princess Diana.
The 80-year-old retired MI5 agent, John Hopkins, had been told he had just weeks to live, so decided to reveal that the royal family had hired him to assassinate Princess Diana in 1997.
Yep.
The bizarre claims, which totalled in 23 assassinations for British intelligence, were published on the online website YourNewsWire.
John was, apparently, part of a cell of seven operatives who were trusted to carry out political assassinations across the UK with most victims being politicians, activists, journalists and union leaders.
Princess Diana was the only woman John claims to have assassinated. And it was the only job to come direct from the royal family.
Fake News Alert: Retired MI5 Agent did not confesses to killing Princess Diana on Deathbed https://t.co/wl16RhHC1Z
Though no details โ such as when the confession was made or how the actual assassination of the royal took place โ and no credible news source confirmed the story, it quickly spread like wildfire.
However, the story has now been officially confirmed as fake news.
Want to know how to avoid falling for these made up articles in the future? Firstly, always ensure the website is credible and that other credible news outlets are reporting on it. Something as big as someone admitting to killing Princess Diana would have been everywhere, if true.
Secondly, make sure the details are clear: thereโs a quoted source, dates and times.
And thirdly, if it sounds absolutely CRAZY, spoiler alert: It probably is.

Queen Bey has had a busy few weeks, even by her standards.
A few weeks ago, the singer blessed the world by giving birth to her twins (names and genders yet to be revealed).
Then, over the weekend, she made her presence known at the BET Awards.
The new mum won the Viewerโs Choice Award for her video โSorry.โ And because sheโs a lil too busy bonding with the luckiest babies in the world, her proteges and singing duo, Chloe and Halle, accepted the award on her behalf.
And because Beyoncรฉ never does anything half-assed, her message was of powerful and moving.
She wrote, โThank you BET for this award and your tremendous support of Lemonade. This has been a journey of love, of celebrating our culture, honoring the past, and approaching the present and future with hope and resolve.โ
This is Beyoncรฉ first statement since welcoming two additions to her family last week.
She continued: โThank you to my mother Tina Knowles-Lawson for being my biggest, biggest teacher, and consistent influence. Thank you to my entire family for so much love.โ
โAnd thanks to all the fans, my Beyhive, for riding with me. I love and appreciate you. And to everyone at the show tonight, you all look so beautiful. And at home, thank you, and have a wonderful, wonderful night. From, Beyoncรฉ.โ

This year, it seems Glastonbury Festival was the place for celebrity dads to let their hair down.
Brad Pitt, who has been avoiding public appearances since his incredibly messy, public split with Angelina Jolie, was spotted by punters having a great time with his mate Bradly Cooper.
Cooper, whose first child with supermodel Irina Shayk was born just two months ago, photobombed photos fans took with Pitt while watching artists from side of stage.
Many were shocked to see photos of a very drunk looking Pitt emerging all over Twitter, as the actor said just two months ago in a GQ interview that he had given up drinking to โbecome a better manโ in the wake of his divorce.
One photo, captioned โBrad Pitt is looking abit smashed at Glastonburyโ seems to have been removed from social media altogether.
โ ๐ป Colin Paterson ๐บ (@ColinGPaterson) June 22, 2017
As well as these actors, who clearly had nothing better to do (read: left the divorce, domestic violence allegations and newborn babies at home), other celebs such as Margot Robbie, Cara Delevingne and Sienna Miller also spent the weekend at the festival.

UPDATE: Further details have emerged surrounding the teenage girl who was found alive more than a year from disappearing from her home.
Hailey Burns was held captive at Michael Ren Wysolovksiโs house, with police reports saying the 16-year-old was prevented from escaping by a floor-to-ceiling gate.
Hailey originally met Wysolovski in an online chatroom for people struggling with food issues, deputy chief assistant district attorney in Gwinnett County Tracie Cason told The Charlotte Observer.
Wysolovski kept a food journal detailing how many calories Hailey had eaten each day, and would sometimes withhold food from her if he thought sheโd eaten too much the day before.
On some occasions, the teen was made to perform oral sex in exchange for food, according to additional details in the warrants, News.com.au reports.
โShe is not the same person that left and that is the hardest part of this,โ Haileyโs mother, Shaunna Burns, told wscotvโs Channel 9.
ORIGINAL: Hailey Burns was last seen by her parents on May 23, 2016.
The 16-year-oldโs mum went to wake her for school to find her bed empty and the front door of their North Carolina home wide open.
โIt was the worst feeling you could ever imagine. You feel completely out of control. You donโt know what to do,โ Haileyโs father, Tony Burns, told WCNC News of his daughterโs disappearance.
The family, who have spent the past year searching for her, never gave up hope that they would find the teenager alive.
Now, more than a year later, Hailey has been found and reunited with her parents.
โOur sweet baby is coming home with us,โ Haileyโs mum wrote on Facebook.
According to Fox 5 Atlanta, Hailey was found at the home of a 31-year-old man in Georgia โ two states away from her home โ by the FBI.
Authorities believe Hailey started talking to the man, Michael Ren Wysolovski, on the internet, and left her home over a year ago to meet him.
Wysolovski is now in custody and is facing a number of charges including aggravated sodomy, cruelty to children and deprivation, interference with custody, and false imprisonment, according to Fox News.
โI woke up this morning at about 4 am. I walked into my daughterโs room like I have for over a year but this time she was there in her bed safe and sound,โ Haileyโs emotional father wrote on Facebook of his daugherโs return.
โI can but thank the people who helped make this possible, all of the law enforcement and amazing friends that our family has been blessed with. Though tired from an amazing 48 hours where we helped lead the authorities to where my daughter was, I woke up today crying and grateful again for the miracle that has happened in our lives. She will need all of your support as she fights back from this ordeal. But she feels the love around her.โ
โWe never gave up. She is happy and grateful to be home. We can now breath again.โ

Last week, Roxy Jacenko welcomed home her husband, Oliver Curtis, who had been jailed for a year for insider trading.
The PR guru and her two children met Oliver in a private jet, to keep up the lie that their father had spent the past year in China on business.
Though Roxy has continued posting to her Instagram account in the days since her husbandโs release, she hasnโt mentioned anything on social media about his return.
Yesterday, she finally broke her silence when a photographer asked whether it was good to have Oliver home.
โYes the children are very happy,โ Roxy replied, as reported by The Daily Mail.
โAre you happy?โ they asked in response, to which she replied: โYes, of course.โ
Oliver was jailed in 2016 for his role in an insider-trading conspiracy in which he and former school friend John Hartman netted around $1.4 million. The duo spent their earnings on luxury items, such as cars, motorbikes, ski and casino trips.

A prestigious London school has come under fire for asking students to write suicide notes as part of an assignment.
Thomas Tallis School in Greenwich had 60 year 8 (11 and 12-year-old) students complete the assignment as part of their study of Shakespeareโs play Macbeth.
While the classes were not asked to write personal suicide notes, rather a note from Lady Macbeth to Macbeth, parents say the exercise was distressing to their children, some of whom have had friends take their own lives.
One mother said the assignment had been incredibly upsetting for her young daughter, who had previously had to go through three of her friends take their own lives.
โOn what universe was it ever a good idea to ask a group of teenagers to write suicide notes?โ She told the local newspaper, News Shopper.
Parents are furious after pupils at the 1,700-pupil Thomas Tallis School in Kidbrooke, south east London, were aโฆ https://t.co/1kfTedx5nb
โAt least two classes have done this assignment. My daughter is very outspoken but there are other kids (who are) not as vocal who might be suffering from depression.โ
Following the outrage, the school posted an apology from the headmaster on its Facebook page.
โYou may have seen a news item recently that refers to an incident in an English lesson at Tallis,โ it started.
โA parent contacted us with concerns about a written exercise given to a class during studies of a play by Shakespeare. The exercise was given to a class who had been studying Macbeth as part of a year 8 English lesson.โ
โThe exercise was to write a suicide letter from Lady Macbeth to Macbeth explaining her decision to kill herself. The exercise is a well-known method for getting students to understand this dramatic twist in the play.โ
โWe appreciate that the exercise was upsetting to the family and have discussed the subject matter and approach with teaching staff. I met with the parent last week and apologised wholeheartedly on behalf of the school and reassured them about the actions that have been taken. The parent accepted the apology in a meeting that was friendly and cordial.โ
โWe care deeply about the emotional wellbeing of our students and of course wish no distress to be caused to any of our students โ all we can do is hold discussions and debates on topics such as these in a supportive and sensitive way. Had we been aware of any students who would have found the exercise upsetting then we would of course have taken a different approach. We have listened to the concerns raised by this debate and will not run the exercise again.โ
โI apologise again, for any distress that this may have caused to the family.โ

In North Carolina, unfortunately, itโs not quite so black and white when it comes to the law and consent.
A 1979 state supreme court ruling says that continuing to have sex with someone, even after they withdraw their consent, isnโt considered to be rape.
Thatโs right: if you initially agree to have sex with someone, and they partway through become aggressive and violent and you say you no longer want to go through with it, itโs not rape.
โNorth Carolina is the only state in the country where no doesnโt really mean no,โ State Senator Jeff Jackson, who has introduced a legislation to amend the law, said in a statement.
โWe have a clear ethical obligation to fix this obvious defect in our rape law.โ
This May, North Carolina woman Amy Guy revealed that the law had prevented prosecutors from charging her husband with rape, after a violent attack in which she repeatedly resisted.
Amy had separated from her husband when he turned up at her door demanding sex. He had been violent in the past, so she agreed. But before long, he became aggressive and Amy told him to stop. He ignored her.
Due to the law, Amyโs husband got off the rape charges she pressed against him and was only found guilty of being violent towards her.
โI was devastated,โ Amy said in an interview, as reported by The Guardian. โThat did not make any sense. I was taught that no means no and itโs not really true.โ
Thankfully, the new bill Senator Jackson is pushing which will change the law is likely to pass.
โI believe this bill will inevitably pass, and when it does, my bet is it passes unanimously,โ he said. โNo one can seriously defend this loophole in our rape law. We have a clear ethical obligation to fix this obvious defect in our rape law.โ

Parents and carers in Queensland can call a hotline if they are concerned their loved one is not getting the medical attention they need by doctors. Brave parents in Adelaide are now calling for a similar service after the tragic death of their daughter
Nine-year-old Adelaide girl Leila Baartse-Harkin was playing on a swingset in October, 2015โlike any other child her ageโwhen tragedy struck.
Leila jumped from the swing and belly-flopped onto the ground. Although she was taken to hospital for treatment, she was discharged and died from a perforated bowel and peritonitis, the ABC reports.
A coroner has made the heartbreaking finding that the 9-year-oldโs death could have been prevented if she had received proper care.
โI find that her death would probably have been prevented by abdominal surgery if Leila had been kept in the WCH and had been observed overnight,โ Deputy state coroner Anthony Schapel said.
โShe should not have been discharged.โ
In the wake of Leilaโs death, Mr Schapel recommended that a medical hotline should be established called โLeilaโs Lifelineโ. The hotline would provide parents or carers with a number to call if they are worried about the diagnosis or treatment offered by doctors.
In a Change.Org petition, Leilaโs parents have also called for the potentially life-saving line to be established.
โIn the day before and the morning of Leilaโs death we felt helpless, did not know where to get help and the health professionals we took Leila too misdiagnosed, dismissed our concerns and โre-asssuredโ us that Leila was fine,โ Edie and Ricky Harkin wrote on the page.
โWe felt like no-one cared and no-one was listening. We were given no information on what to do if she got worse, any possible diagnosis and were given no information on our rights or a discharge summary or plan.โ
The parents added: โPlease sign this petition to assist in preventing further needless deaths by bringing Leilaโs Lifeline to South Australia and give a voice to carers. We believe it will save lives.โ
Jellaine
The hotline is based on โRyanโs Ruleโ, which was introduced by Queensland Health in 2013.
Ryanโs Rule is a three-step process in which patients, families of carers can raise a concern if a patientโs condition is not improving as expected. After raising a concern with a doctor or nurse, plus a nurse in charge of the shift, parents can call 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84) for assistance.
The rule was introduced after the death of 2-year-old Queensland boy Ryan Saunders, who tragically died in 2007, The Age reports. Ryan had been suffering from all-over body pain and was misdiagnosed by his GP as having mumps. Doctors failed to diagnose his bacterial infection and a coroner found Ryanโs death was likely preventable. At the time, Ryanโs parents felt their concerns were not being heard.
The number anyone in Queensland can call is 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84).
New South Wales also has a REACH program (Recognise, Engage, Act, Call, Help is on its way) for patients and families whose health concerns are not addressed. You can find out more here.

A preschool teacher has been fired from her job at a Christian school because of her second career as a porn actress.
Even though every feminist synapse in my body wants to be outraged โฆ Iโm not.
21-year-old Nina Skye was confronted by her shocked bosses at an unnamed preschool after they learned sheโd starred in a number of adult films with titles like Amateur Allure and Swallow Salon.
They told the teacher, who says she loves both her jobs, that she could either exit the porn industry and remain as a teacher, or stay in porn and lose her job in the classroom. โI love teaching. I love sex. If I can get away with doing both, then I will,โ she told Fox News.
She couldnโt get away with it. And she chose the porn.
Reflexively, I want to jump to her defence. I have no problem with porn generally, and in a world where the gap between rich and poor grows larger every day โ a truism that hits women particularly hard โ any job where top female employees can earn up to $500,000 a year is a legitimate career. Particularly when no one can be bothered paying a preschool teacher more than about one-tenth of that sum.
But just as the pearl clutchers have no right to tell Nina what to do with her body, Nina Skye doesnโt have the right to impose her body onto their children.
Christian school. Christian values. Deal with it.
The parents at the school where Nina Skye taught almost certainly sent their children to a Christian school to instil them with Christian values. They may want to shield them from the irrefutable over-pornofication of everything beyond its walls. Itโs a valid world view, whether you agree with it or not, and one that those parents have every right to adhere to if they choose โ particularly if theyโre paying for the privilege.
You could argue that the children at the school are unlikely to come across their teacherโs extra-curricular work, so itโs a moot point. Anyone who thinks this has never met a child. They find stuff out. Their big brother finds stuff out. Yes, they really are listening when their dad and their best friendโs dad are having a quiet leer together in the school playground before assembly โ and they will repeat what they heard to their other friend at lunch. Kids are crafty. They snoop. Theyโre basically the CIA with nits.
Nina Skye on InstagramWhy not do both?
In theory I have no problem with a women taking a second job in porn, as long as porn doesnโt clash with the reasonable values of the first job, which is a basic understanding in any job (trust us, there was a clause in your current contract that says you canโt bring your employer into disrepute outside of business hours). Pilot? Fine. Cop? Huge opportunities for costume recycling. Doctor? Sure, the anatomy knowledge might come in handy in both directions.
But just as you canโt in all conscience be a lobbyist and a politician, or a vet and an abattoir worker or a dietitian and the CEO of KFC, Nina Skye needs to apply a little common sense to her life choices, and a little less mulish entitlement. And if she wonโt, itโs fair that her bosses do.
I wish Nina Skye luck in her porn career. Happily she should be able to pull of a fairly convincing โteacherโ โ one of the most searched-for keywords on the worldโs largest porn site, PornHub.

Former nurse Genene Jones is already serving prison time in Texas for the death of one child and the injury of another.
But prosecutors allege 66-year-old Jones may be responsible for killing up to 60 children, the New York Times reports.
The former nurse has been indicted on murder charges for the death of 2-year-old Rosemary Vega in September 1981.
Last month, Jones was also indicted on a separate murder charge for the death of 11-month-old Joshua Sawyer in 1981, by injecting him with a โtoxic levelโ of an anti-seizure drug. The nurse was working in pediatric intensive care at the time.
Bexar County District Attorney Nico LaHood told TheNew York Times they will be looking into previous child deaths in Texas, where there is no statute of limitations for murder.
โIt was unconscionable that she was suspected of up to 60 murders, and everyone felt they could not do anything,โ he said.
โOur intention is to hold her accountable for as many deaths as the evidence will support.
โBut we have to have the evidence. So we will continue to work within the confines of the law to do that. We are going to take one at a time. I am fairly confident we are not going to get 60 indictments on her, but we will get as many as the evidence supports.โ

USA Today reports Jones has been dubbed the โkiller nurseโ.
In 1985, she was sentenced to 99 years in prison for the death of 15-month-old Chelsea McClellan. She was also convicted for the attempted homicide of a boy, just four weeks old.

The Duchess of Cambridge has the entire worldโs attention every single time she steps foot out of the house (read: palace), so of course, itโs important that her skin looks camera ready at all times.
While Kate Middleton hasnโt said much about her beauty routine over the years, the makeup artist trusted to prepare the Duchess for the biggest day of her life โ her wedding to Prince William โ has revealed a couple of secrets.
Speaking to The Cut, Arabella Preston, Kateโs makeup artist and a former beauty editor, says that the key to achieving perfect skin is using a facecloth.
Yep, that bacteria-filled cloth you avoid in favour of your just-washed-and-sparkly-clean hands, is to thank for the Duchessโ pimple-free face.
โMore gentle than any moisturised cleanser brush, the right flannel will allow you to cleanly wipe makeup and dirt from your skin and gently exfoliate.โ
โSurrounding your face with a steaming hot towel adds a cosy, therapeutic element to the routine and leaves you with skin thatโs naked but not stripped.โ

Coming to terms with the death of a loved one can be a devastating and long process.
UK mother Gilli Davidson knew she wanted to spend some time with her nine-year-old daughter before she was gone forever.
Gilliโs daughter Niamh was diagnosed with a Wilms tumour (a rare kidney cancer) when she was six, and died in 2014 after a three-year long battle, the BBC reports.
โThe thought that she wouldnโt be here was unbearable,โ Gilli told the BBC.
โShe died at home at 1:30 in the afternoon, with me and her dad.โ
'I kept my daughter's body at home for three weeks'
Organ donation was important to the family, and when Niamh passed away, a Brighton funeral director removed and donated the little girlโs eyesโher only body part unaffected by cancer.
After the procedure, Niamh was returned to her mother at home.
โShe stayed there, lying on an armchair with her blankets and her cushions,โ Gilli recollects.
โI couldnโt possibly have left her somewhere else. It just didnโt feel right. Sheโd just turned nine years old โ it still felt as though she was part of me.โ

The little girl spent a total of three weeks with her mother. The time was particularly precious to Gilli because she had lost two other children in the 1990s.
โIf Niamh had just disappeared out of the house, and then a coffin had arrived and I never saw her again, Iโd still be searchingโฆโ she explained.
โI was able to wash her. And dress her in her favourite things. The main thing for me was to make her death real.โ
Niamh was buried at a touching ceremony with family, friends, neighbourhood pets and balloons.
โThe funeralโs only the start of saying goodbye, but itโs such an important start โ itโs the beginning of moving on to the next chapter of life without that person,โ Gilli added.

With Netflixโs hugely popular Gilmore Girls revival and the announcement of Will & Grace returning to our screens, itโs no wonder other stars are being asked whether theyโre up for a reunion.
A few weeks ago, Gossip Girlโs Ed Westwick, AKA Chuck Bass, said heโd only consider heading back to the Upper East Side for a whole lot of cash (classic Chuck), and now Rachel Bilson has responded to whether sheโd be open to a reboot of The O.C.
โIโm always open to things,โ Rachel, who played Summer on the show, told E! News.
โI donโt know what it would look like with our characters being old now. We were riding skateboards on the pier; I donโt know what they do now as 30-year-olds. But it would be nice to see everybody again.โ
But what does she think Summer would be doing today? โPeople always ask me that and Iโm like, โWhat was she doing when we ended?'โ the actress said. โI canโt even remember; it was so long ago. Iโm sure she has kids with Seth. I donโt know! Sheโs on the beach.โ
Fingerโs crossed we head back to California soon.

How do you prepare to audition for the role of the most important female superhero of all time? The same way you get ready for a night out on the town, apparently.
Gal Gadot has revealed she listened to Beyoncรฉ to calm her nerves before her Wonder Woman audition.
โWhen I auditioned for Batman v Superman, I didnโt know it was for Wonder Woman,โ Gadot told W Magazine. โThe director, Zack Snyder, asked me to do a camera test. That was torture. They were looking at six or seven girls, and we were all in separate trailers and were told to stay inside until they called us. Waiting is my enemy Number One, and I was losing my mind. So, I decided to put on Beyoncรฉ.โ
โWho runs the world? Girls! I just started to dance, and I let my anxiety go. Thank you, Beyoncรฉ!โ she added.
We bet Gadot is still dancing to the Beyoncรฉ girl-power anthem, with Wonder Woman banking more than US$620 million worldwide since its launch 21 days ago.
The film, directed by Patty Jenkins, has become the top grossing live-action film from a female director and is expected to overtake Frozenโs US$1.28 billion in ticket sales.

An 11-year-old girl has gone to drastic measures to convince her parents to buy her a cat, writing a six-page essay titled โWhy I would love a cat, benefits of cats, and fixing problems.โ
In the report, which her sister shared to Twitter, Romesa outlines some pretty valid points including, โhaving a cat to play with will make me feel less lonely.โ
โIt will also help me to get off my electronics because I will have a cute friend to play with,โ she wrote.

Throughout the essay, Romesa dropped random (unsourced) facts: โPeople are less 40% less likely to die from a heart attack if they own a cat.โ
And even brought religion into it: โProphet Muhammad (SAWS) always fed cats.โ

At times, the 11-year-old just chucked caps lock on and begged: โWE LOVE YOU SO PLEASE GET US A CAT!! IT WOULD CHANGE OUR LIVES!!!โ
And then played the bad parentsโ card: โWho doesnโt want their own children to be happy???โ
Speaking to Buzzfeed, Romesaโs older sister, Rimsha, said that thanks to the essay, she thinks itโs likely theyโll finally be able to get a cat. โI think chances are maybe 80% as of now.โ

Popular Australian blogger Constance Hall has announced her engagement to partner Denim Cook.
Posting to both her Facebook and Instagram account, Constance, who was recently in the spotlight for her messy split with her ex-husband, wrote: โLover boy wants to spent the rest of his life with me [sic]โฆ spoiler I said yes 3 f*cking times.โ
She then directed her following to Dylanโs Facebook page, where he went into further detail about the proposal.
โTo let u in on something deeply personal, I have proposed marriage to Con twice in 2 months. Every time she has said โYESโ,โ he wrote.
โObviously we are both hopeless romantics so recently I got down on one knee at the beach in Carnarvon and asked for the 3rd and final time.โ
โI felt nervous and my heart raced to the speed of my brainโฆ I didnโt want to blurt out something ridiculous without an intro so I prepared Con for what was about to happen.โ
โI came up with โConstance Hall, as you know our love has existed before the beginning of time, please will you marry me so our souls can be entwined till the end of time.โ
โWe kissed deeply and passionately and then she jumped onto my hips and wrapped her legs around me, she grabbed my neck and forced us to gently fall towards the water. Then just like in all the romantic movies a wave raced up the beach and engulfed us both by surprise.โ

Chilean national Adriana Rivas most recently worked with children as a nanny in Sydney. But her past life in Chile tells a much darker story.
As The Sydney Morning Herald reports, Rivas is wanted for her alleged involvement in kidnapping, torture and murder while she was working as an agent of General Augusto Pinochetโs secret police in Chile.
Rivas served as the assistant to the head of the Direcciรณn de Inteligenca Nacional (DINA) secret police. She has been charged with seven counts of โaggravated kidnappingโ.
Among the charges, Rivas is wanted for her alleged role in the murder of a Communist Party leader who was reportedly suffocated in a secret prison and dumped in the ocean in 1976, SBS reports.
Speaking to SBS in 2014, Rivas said she was innocent of charges against her. However, she defended the use of torture during the Pinochet-era as โnecessaryโ.
โEveryone knew they had to do that to somehow break peopleยดs silenceโฆLetยดs talk about the things the way they were. It was necessary,โ she explained.
Chilean fugitive accused of kidnap, torture and murder worked as a nanny in Australia https://t.co/eWwYUbKdSo
โI meanโฆ[it was] the same as what the Nazis used, do you understand? It was necessary. And do you think that the U.S. does not do the same? The whole world does it. Silent, underground, but they do it. This is the only way to break the people. Because psychologically, there is no method. There isnยดt an injectionโlike in the moviesโto make you tell the truth. It doesnโt exist.
โSo the only way to break people is this way. Because nobody is going to sit down and ask: โwhat did you do today?'โ
Rivas was detained during a visit to Chile in 2006, but fled while on bail. The SMH reports that Rivas was last known to be living in a public housing unit in Bondi and is still believed to be in Sydney.
The federal government is now under pressure to grant a Chilean extradition request so Rivas can face charges.

Just incase you werenโt yet convinced that Luna, the daughter of Chrissy Teigen and John Legend, wasnโt the cutest kid on the planet you need to watch this video of her busting some serious moves.
Luna, who recently celebrated her first birthday made her dancing debut in a video posted to Teigenโs Instagram account on the weekend. In a display that is equal parts rhythmic and goofy (you choose who she picked up those traits from) the tiny talent shakes it while her grandmother stands behind her clapping along.
Obviously a proud mama, Teigen captioned the video that has been watched over 6 million times, โGet it, girl!โ
Itโs really no surprise that the progeny of Teigen and Legend is already showcasing her dancing talents when just a week ago Teigen shared Snapchat videos of Luna tinkering away on the piano.

Johnny Deppโs former business managers have made explosive claims about the actorโs treatment of ex-wife Amber Heard by alleging he was physically violent during their relationship.
PEOPLE have obtained court documents filed by The Management Group that claim Depp physically abused Heard and attempted to cover it up. The documents allege Depp โviolently kickedโ Heard in or around 2014.
โ[Joel Mandel, one of the managers,] was informed well after the fact through communications with various house staff and security that Depp had been extremely volatile and had sometimes โgotten physicalโ with Heard,โ the court documents claim.
โMandel was also later informed that Depp had violently kicked Heard during an incident that took place in or around 2014.โ
Amber Heard and Johnny Depp
Heard filed for divorce in May, 2016, after a 15-month marriage, and requested a domestic violence restraining order against her ex.
Depp has previously denied all allegations of abuse, claiming they were โsalacious false stories, gossip, misinformation, and lies,โ Vanity Fairreports. The actor also accused his former wife of fabricating the allegations to โextend her fifteen minutes of fame.โ
The documents obtained by PEOPLE are linked to a lawsuit between Depp and TMG.

A 37-year-old woman was found trapped underneath a rundown Melbourne home on Saturday night, after neighbours reported hearing calls for help coming from the property.
Metropolitan Fire Brigade Commander Roger Chitty said the woman was โextremely dehydrated and incoherentโ when they rescued her, after spending two hours creating a hole in the kitchen floor.
โWe werenโt able to make conversation with her,โ Commander Chitty said, as reported by The Age.
โBut she was very fortunate to be conscious and in the state she was in, considering how long sheโd been under the house.โ
'Strange': Neighbours fear a woman trapped under a derelict Essendon house may have been there for a week https://t.co/FluIlEBDOB
Though rescue crews were guessing the woman had been trapped for around four days, a neighbour says itโs more likely to have been a week.
โLast Sunday, about midday, I saw this lady coming up the street looking in, and then she went down the laneway,โ neighbour, Janis, told Fairfax Media.
โShe pulled a couple [of fence palings] off, they were lying near that shed. I assumed she was trying to get in.โ
Janis says itโs โdefinitelyโ the same woman who was found.
โThe firefighter said sheโd been there for four days, and I said, โMate, sheโs probably been there since Sunday because thatโs when I saw herโ.โ

A US father received a haunting phone call days after his sonโs funeral.
โYour son is alive,โ the caller said to 82-year-old Frank J Kerrigan.
โPut my son on the phone,โ Mr Kerrigan replied. โHe said โHi Dad.'โ
11 days earlier, the family had held a $26,000 funeral, with people travelling across the country to say goodbye to who they thought was 57-year-old Frank M Kerrigan, who was mentally ill and had been living on the street.
The ordeal started when a manโs body was found behind a phone store in Fountain Valley, California.
Upon calling the coronerโs office, Frank J. Kerrigan was told the man had been fingerprint identified as his son.
โWhen somebody tells me my son is dead, when they have fingerprints, I believe them,โ Kerrigan said as reported by CBS Los Angeles. โIf he wasnโt identified by fingerprints I would been there in heartbeat.โ
โWe thought we were burying our brother,โ his sister Carole Meikle said. โSomeone else had a beautiful sendoff. Itโs horrific.โ
โWe lived through our worst fear,โ she said. โHe was dead on the sidewalk. We buried him. Those feelings donโt go away.โ
The Orange County Sheriffโs Department is conducting an internal investigation into how the mix-up occurred.

American university student Otto Warmbier had planned to stay in North Korea for just five days of sightseeing as a tourist in 2015. But the 22-year-old student instead served 17 months in detention and was only returned to his family this month.
When he was released, Otto was found to have suffered severe brain damage. His family believe he was tortured into a coma, the ABC reports.
Now, mere days after Ottoโs funeral, a university professor has said the 22-year-old โgot what he deservedโ.
Breaking News: Otto Warmbier, who was held prisoner in North Korea for 17 months before coming home last week, has died, his family said. pic.twitter.com/GW9aUlSAcR
Posting to her Facebook page, anthropology professor Kathy Dettwyler wrote that Otto was โtypical of a mindset of a lot of the young, white, rich, clueless males who come into my classesโ.
โThese are the same kids who cry about their grades because they didnโt think theyโd really have to read and study the material to get a good gradeโฆโ she continued.
โHis parents ultimately are to blame for his growing up thinking he could get away with whatever he wanted. Maybe in the US, where young, white, rich, clueless white males routinely get away with raping women. Not so much in North Korea,โ the post read, according to The News Journal of Wilmington, DE.
โAnd of course, itโs Ottoโs parents who will pay the price for the rest of their lives,โ Dettwyler wrote.
Following the comments, and the call by the public to have the professor fired, the University of Delaware has released a statement saying Dettwylerโs comments โdo not reflect the values or positionโ of the college
โWe condemn any and all messages that endorse hatred and convey insensitivity toward a tragic event such as the one that Otto Warmbier and his family suffered,โ the statement posted to Twitter read.
People have commented below the statement calling for more action to be taken.
โSo what actions are you taking against Dettwyler? Or will she be free to continue to spew this hatred across your campus?โ one person wrote.

Youโve heard the stats. Anxiety is the most common mental health condition in Australia, with one in three women experiencing it in their lifetime.*
But while itโs often linked to paralysing panic attacks and withdrawal from daily life, sometimes anxiety has the opposite effect; a nervous energy that keeps pushing you forward at a million miles an hour, its symptoms masked by smiles and success.
Sound familiar? Here are seven signs your high-achieving life might be shrouding high-functioning anxiety โ plus expert tips to keep calm and carry on.
1. You have a chronic fear of failure
โHigh-functioning anxiety tends to be underpinned by a fear of negative evaluation or failure,โ explains Dr Jodie Lowinger, principal clinical psychologist at the Sydney Anxiety Clinic. โThis can create an โall or nothingโ way of thinking. Itโs a sense of โIf Iโm not perfect, Iโm a failure.โ Or โIf Iโm not brilliant, then Iโm terrible.โโ
While these thought processes often lead to greatness, they can also stir up inner turmoil. The more you achieve, the higher you set your expectations, resulting in a vicious cycle of perfectionism. The stress bubbles away just beneath the surface, but the second things get out of control, a more serious panic attack or breakdown could erupt.
2. Youโre addicted to being busy
Youโre the last to leave the office, pack your weekends tighter than a bandage dress and despise island holidays. You joke about how you canโt relax, but your hectic schedule is also a cover-up for angst: what will happen if you suddenly stop and are left alone with your thoughts?
According to psychologist Jacqui Manning (The Friendly Pyschologist), we all need to hop off the hamster wheel. โIn todayโs fast-paced, highly connected society, we wear busyness as a badge of pride, but everyone needs some time out. Just 10 minutes with a cup of tea, a quick walk or even taking two deep breaths will get the endorphins going and help relieve stress.โ
3. You have aches, pains and nervous habits
Psychologists and doctors agree: our physical and mental states are inextricably linked. So that niggling headache or shoulder pain might represent more than you think. Anxiety manifests in myriad ways, says Dr Lowinger, โas a by-product of the โfight or flightโ reactionโ. Think muscle tension, increased heart rate, shallow breathing, hyperventilation, knots in your stomach and diarrhoea.
High-functioning anxiety sufferers tend to do a good job of keeping these symptoms hidden, but nerves can also spill out in habits and tics: foot-tapping, nail-biting, hair-twisting and lip-chewing, to name a few.
4. No is not in your vocabulary
One syllable, two letters โ that you struggle to utter. Women are particularly prone to โYesโ syndrome, but those with high-functioning anxiety can take it to new people-pleasing levels. You put enormous pressure on yourself and hate the idea of letting others down, linking back to that fear of negative evaluation. Your strategy: taking on more and more, stretching yourself thin and putting the demands of others above your own well-being.
Dr Lowinger, who also runs corporate coaching company Mind Strength, helps high-flyers find strategies to use these qualities โ high standards, concern for others โ for good. โWe donโt necessarily want to get rid of our anxiety, she explains. โWe just want to use it in helpful ways.โ
5. You donโt sleep easy
Sure, you function well during the day, but all that internalised anxiety is likely to creep out at night. โA common symptom is waking up at two or three in the morning and not being able to get back to sleep,โ says Manning. To calm a racing mind, she recommends switching your phone to flight mode โ not only will it reduce exposure to slumber-thwarting blue light, but also help you unplug and unwind.
6. People describe you as stoic and hard to read
There are those who broadcast their stress with the prowess of a PR guru, making their hefty workload and frantic schedule known to anyone within earshot; and then thereโs you. You get on with the task at hand and keep your worries under wraps, earning yourself a reputation as stoic and uncomplaining.
Admirable, yes. Beneficial, not always. If nobody knows youโre distressed, the status quo will remain. Plus, constantly shielding your emotions makes it harder to form meaningful connections. Next time you feel a ball of stress rising in your stomach, remember, itโs ok to show youโre struggling.
7. You make overthinking an artform
Do you dwell, stew and fret? โWorry is the โwhat ifs?โ of the future, while rumination is the โshoulds and shouldnโt havesโ,โ explains Dr Lowinger. Those with high-functioning anxiety disorder often fall into this pattern because of their analytical minds.
The solution is one youโve heard before, though have perhaps tried to resist given your ever-racing brain: mindfulness. The hype is backed by science, with a new study in Psychiatry Research revealing that of 89 participants with anxiety disorder, those who practised mindfulness meditation had โsharply reduced stress hormone and inflammatory responses to a stressful situationโ.** Sign us up.

A devastated US mother has spoken out about the heartbreak of losing both of her children, who were allegedly killed by their father.
Fox59 reports that 40-year-old California man Alvaro Camara had spent Fatherโs Day with 6-year-old daughter and 18-month-old son.
Camara was meant to drop off the children to their motherโs house but they never returned.
Police visited the manโs home for a routine welfare check on Monday and found Camara and his children dead inside the home. Police believe the man killed his children before hanging himself in a bedroom. The husband and wife were reportedly in a custody dispute at the time.
Bay Area news station KRON4 published a devastating letter that the childrenโs mother wrote after their tragic death.
โI sit here at 7:06 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 swaddled in my daughterโs blanket and drinking tea from a cup that reads โI love you mom,โ fighting back the tears and struggling to make sense of this horrific situation,โ she wrote.
โThey are my precious innocent children that were beyond loved by their family, friends and community.โ
The mother explained that she wanted to share her story to help create awareness about domestic violence and to prevent future acts of violence.
โI know I am not the only person that is or has gone through this horrific unimaginable situation, so please help me spread stories like this to raise awareness that is much needed to help prevent anything like this happening to another family,โ she wrote.
โI sought help on numerous occasions and said many, many, many times my children were in danger in their fatherโs care and I didnโt receive the urgent help I needed to save them.โ
The mother ended the letter with the sign-off: โโA mother no longer able to hold her children.โ

โThis was my 2nd miscarriage in around 7 months and only now do I have the courage to share this in the hopes that other woman might support one another and hopefully to encourage you to take a moment before you ask โthoseโ questions, the ones we are all guilty of asking, like as soon as someone is married โwhen will you have the baby?โ , then โwhenโs the next one?โ
She continued: โAfter going through this, I have now realised that itโs not some box that you tick that determines how many children you will have,itโs an emotional, unpredictable journey and itโs completely out of your control. The woman next to you may have just gone through her 7th miscarriage, or perhaps she may not even be able to conceive at all. Although most people mean well, I have found that when facing those baby questions it can leave you feeling more defeated, anxious and less accomplished, as though you have failed to do something that you were apparently born to do, and of course that leads to what we all do as women- we blame ourselves for EVERYTHING!โ
Krystal explained that she had blamed herself for what had happened for months.
โFor months I scrutinised every single thing I did, sifting through those 12 weeks with a fine tooth comb believing it was something I did wrong. Knowing the statistics that 1 in 4 woman miscarry may or may not help but what will is having someone to talk to and by sharing you might find you are not alone and that someone close to you has also experienced what it was to imagine their little oneโs face , and their tiny hands and feet and they too know that same bond you felt from the moment you found out you were pregnant,โ she wrote.
โLetโs start asking less questions and just be that shoulder to cry on for one another. You will never forget that precious little angel but it does get easier in time and it certainly reminds you to count the blessings that you do have ๐๐ปโ
https://www.instagram.com/p/BVekoz2F97p/
Krystal, who rose to fame after appearing in the 2006 season of Big Brother, has lead a quiet life out of the spotlight in the last few years.
Whatโs even more shocking however, is the ABC Health & Wellbeing statistic that highlights the 2% of of women suffering from two miscarriages in a row, while โ up to 1% will have here or more miscarriages in a row. A condition known as recurrent miscarriage.
And unfortunately, according to a journal published in Medicine Today, investigations will find a cause for recurrent miscarriage in fewer than 50% of affected women.
Krystal hopes that by sharing her experience, it would help other women going through a difficult time.
If you or someone you know is struggling with issues surrounding a miscarriage, stillborn or newborn death, contact Sands Australia for support and information.

It was an emotional Friday for Oliver Curtis, who was released from Cooma Correctional Centre to his two children this morning.
According to reports by the Sydney Morning Herald, Pixie, 5 and Hunter, 3 could be heard screaming โDaddy! Daddy!โ as he made his way onto a private jet at a nearby airport. The pair have not seen their father since he was sentenced a year ago.
โ Daily Mail Australia (@DailyMailAU) June 23, 2017
Curtis was released from the prison in Southern NSW at about 8.40am today, looking startled as he the gate was opened to reveal about 30 members of the cold and hungry media.
The investment banker was jailed for a year after an insider trading scandal. And after being escorted out of the prison gates by personal security, quickly ushered into a chauffeur-driven black Range Rover.
โ The Daily Telegraph (@dailytelegraph) June 22, 2017
Press were expecting Curtis to make a short statement to the media, but after his surprise at the numbers, he opted to walk straight to the car.
That didnโt stop the media from surrounding him however, asking him how it felt to be free, as well as the waves his wife Roxy has been making in the media during his absence. Earlier this year, pictures surfaced of Jacenko kissing her former boyfriend Nail Gazal. Curtis chose not to comment.
SMH also reported that Curtisโ Range Rover headed straight for the nearby Cooma-Snowy Mountains Airport, where a small jet was waiting with Jacenko, Pixie and Hunter all on board. The plane took off about 9.15am straight back to Sydney.
โ Daily Mail Australia (@DailyMailAU) June 22, 2017
Upon landing, The Daily Mail reports that a car took the family to their apartment in North Bondi for a homecoming party. Colourful balloons were spotted earlier in the morning with messages from the children reading: โWelcome home Daddy, love Pix and Hunty.โ
Adressing a seminar in Melbourne, Jacenko revealed that Pixie, the toddler with over a thousand followers on Instagram, had a calendar in her room that she had been crossing off the days on until her fatherโs return.
โ[Pixie is] marking off the days and now weโre down to however many sleeps โฆ she can count now she goes to school,โ Jacenko said.
The children believed their father spent the past year on business in China.
Curtis was jailed in 2016 for his role in an insider trading conspiracy in which him and former school friend John Hartman netted around $1.4 million. The duo spent their earnings on luxury items, such as cars, motorbikes, ski and casino trips.

We all know the drill. Youโre paying the bills at home, one eye on the computer and the other on the dog whose medicine is due within the hour. Youโre also thinking about your childโs upcoming birthday party, while simultaneously making sure your dinner doesnโt burn in the oven. Itโs just another day in the life.
When did the idea of โwomen having it allโ turn into โwomen having all the responsibilityโ? Well, this phenomenon has been dubbed โThe Mental Load,โ depicted in a recent viral comic by French artist โEmmaโ.
โ Pregnant Chicken (@pregnantchicken) June 10, 2017
The โmental loadโ is the inner monologue that plays in the minds of many women, in which you decipher the things that need doing that no one else sees but you. You know, when youโre sitting in front of the TV wondering whether you should bring the washing in because you overheard on the news thereโs a 22% chance itโs going to rain.
Youโre the project manager of the entire house and you need to keep it running like a well-oiled machine. That means the cooking, cleaning, laundry, bills, childcare, maintenance โ you take responsibility for it.
โThe problem is this is a whole job in itself,โ Emma says in the comic. โSo when we ask women to take on this task of organisation, and at the same time execute a large portion, in the end it represents 75 per cent of the work.โ
Like all forms of inequality, the people who profit from it tend not to see it. According to research by sociologist Dr Leah Ruppanner, โwhen women start to cohabit, theirhousework time goes upwhile menโs goes down, regardless of their employment status.โ
(Ruppannerโs research also made note that โwhen men donโt do an equal share of housework, those men end up divorced.โ Interesting.)
While yes, men statistically do more housework than they have in previous generations, they have also maintained the luxury of separating the physical from the mental responsibilities that exist at home. Thatโs why this comic explains the concept so well, because it doesnโt undercut or degrade the role of men in the household. While many men take on many household duties, many donโt think about the day to day operations (unless prompted of course).
Going to work all day, then coming home to do an extra five hours has just become many womenโs realities.
โOnce we become mothers this double responsibility blows up in our face,โ writes Emma. โAnd once weโre back at work, things will get so hellish that it will feel less exhausting to keep doing everything rather than battle with our partner to do his share.โ
โItโs permanent and exhausting work. And itโs invisible.โ
And whatโs the counterargument? โJust donโt do the work,โ right? The main flaw in this solution is that, women want the work done not because they want to do it, but because of the peaceful environment it creates in the household. If no one pays the bills, or remembers the eldest has casual clothes day, buys toilet paper, or thinks about when the bins need to be taken out โ things fall apart.
We know what youโre thinking: Thanks marie claire for addressing the problem, but what about providing some solutions.
Well, because we know your mental load is already full to the brim, here are some suggested amendments you can make to lighten your responsibilities:
Delegate areas of responsibility, ie: โYou worry about the kids medical appointments, while I take care of the pets.โ
Try to stop overloading your schedule to make life more comfortable for others. If something doesnโt directly affect you, donโt do it and let it go.
If someone around you (partner/child/parent etc) attempts to help and take a task off of you โ donโt micro manage. Resist the urge to criticize or โjust show you how itโs done really quick.โ And while theyโre figuring it out, enjoy your me time.

In January 2016, Calebโs mother, Sarah Paino, was killed in a horror crash when hoons in a stolen car collied with her vehicle. Sarah, 24, was carrying Caleb at the time. The unborn baby was delivered by emergency caesarian after the accident.
Caleb required urgent medical assistance to breathe after the birth, with medical professionals describing his situation as โtouch and goโ, the ABC reports.
Sarahโs partner, Tasmanian baker Daniel Stirling, said his son was lucky to survive after the tragic accident.
โHeโs had all his tests and all has come back well, thank God,โ Daniel said at the time.
โHe should be a normal little boy.โ
Now, almost 18-months on, solo-parent Daniel has opened up to Chanel 7โs Sunday Night about his sonโs incredible progress. The little boy has learned to walk and talk and looks just like his mother.
โItโs a very full on gig, but I wouldnโt change it for the world. I mean, I would as such โ Iโd have Sarah back in a heartbeat,โ Daniel explained.
โBut Iโm pushing on, Iโm doing the best I can.โ

If you prefer your coffee black, youโve probably come to terms with a number of things by now:
1. You prefer strong flavours
2. You take good care of your health
3. You just want to drink coffee the way itโs supposed to be drunk
or according to a recent study, youโre number 4: A psychopath.
Published in the journal Appetite, the findings discovered a correlation between a love of black coffee and sadist or psychopathic tendencies.
The research surveyed more than 1,000 adults, asking them to give their food and flavour preferences. The participants then took a series of personality tests assessing antisocial personality traits, such as sadism, narcissism and psychopathy.
The study, carried out by researchers at the University of Innsbruck, found that a preference for bitter flavours was linked to psychopathic behaviour.
The closest association was between bitter foods and โeveryday sadismโ โ that is to say, enjoyment of inflicting moderate levels of pain on others.
Weird.
And, itโs not just black coffee that should set off alarm bells. The study also found participants who took a liking to celery, radishes and tonic water were also likely to exhibit antisocial traits.
This is not the first study that has found a link between taste and personality, either.
Researchers Christina Sagioglou and Tobias Greitemeyer showed links between sweet taste experiences and โagreeablenessโ, while bitter tastes increased hostility and harsh moral judgements.
So, next time youโre out with a friend and they unsuspectingly order a black coffee โ youโve been warned.

Itโs often easy to forget amongst the glitz and glamour of Hollywood โ but celebrities are normal people, just like you or I. They go through heartbreaks, and unlike us, these breakups often happen under the watchful eye of the paparazzi, gossip magazines and speculating fans.
Needless to say, celebrity breakups are tough.
1. Rihanna
(Credit: Getty)
Last week, Rihanna responded to a fanโs Instagram DM to coach him through a recent breakupโฆand her advice was *too real*
In a 2012 interview, La La Land leading lady Emma Stone opened up about her first heartbreak, explaining: โI was crawling on the floor. I remember throwing up. I remember being on the floorโฆ I have never felt anything quite like that. It was so visceral. Itโs like someone has killed you and you have to live through it and watch it happen. It was awful.โ
3. Kate Moss
(Credit: Getty)
Once upon a time, a 90s Kate Moss and Johnny Depp were star-crossed lovers, and the envy of many when they dated for four years. In 2012, Moss told Vanity Fair that: โThereโs nobody thatโs ever really been able to take care of me. Johnny did for a bit. I believed what he said. Like if I said, โWhat do I do?โ, heโd tell me. And thatโs what I missed when I left. I really lose that gauge of somebody I could trust. Nightmare. Years and years of crying. Oh, the tears!โ
4. Taylor Swift
(Credit: Getty)
Anyone whoโs ever listened to Taylor Swiftโs music knows that she is no stranger to heartbreak. In an interview with Vogue, the โBad Bloodโ singer revealed: โThereโs just been this earth-shattering, not recent, but absolute crash-and-burn heartbreak, and that will turn out to be what the next album is about. The only way that I can feel better about myself โ pull myself out of that awful pain of losing someone โ is writing songs about it to get some sort of clarity.โ
5. Jennifer Aniston
(Credit: Getty)
If youโre anything like us, your heart still hasnโt healed from Jen and Bradโs breakup in 2005. Of the infamous split, Aniston explained: โYou donโt want to feel that when a marriage ends, your life is over. Compared to what other people are surviving out there in the world, this is not so bad, in the grand scheme of thingsโฆBut shit happens. You hoke and say โWhat doesnโt kill you makes you strongerโ.โ Words of wisdom.
6. Kim Kardashian West
(Credit: Getty)
Even though their marriage lasted on 72 days, Kim Kardashian West still suffered after her breakup from ex-husband Kris Humphries: โI felt like I was on a fast roller coaster and couldnโt get off when now I know I probably should haveโฆ I never had the intention of hurting anybody and I accept full responsibility for my actions and decisions, and for taking everyone on this journey with me. It just didnโt turn out to be the fairy tale I had so badly hoped for.โ
During a recent appearance on โPlead the Fifthโ, Kim told host Andy Cohen that she realised the marriage wasnโt going to work as early on as the honeymoon. Ouch.
7. Katy Perry

In 2013, the โRoarโ singer spoke out about her very public divorce from funny-man and husband of one-year, Russel Brand: โI was in bed for about two weeks. I was pretty f**ked, yes. It hurt a lot โ I got a good knock.โ
8. Nicole Kidman

Before Nicole was happily loved-up with Keith Urban, the Aussie actress was married to โ and had kids with โ Tom Cruise. Of the breakup, she explained: โIโm not sure what the future holds, but I do know that Iโm going to be positive and not wake up feeling desperate. As my dad said, โNic, it is what it is, itโs not what it should have been, not what it could have been, it is what it isโ.โ
9. Jennifer Garner
(Credit: Getty)
In a tell-all interview with Vanity Fairfollowing her divorce from husband Ben Affleck, Garner laughed: โItโs been a year of wine!โ, before revealing that: โWhen I canโt sleep โ and I am not someone who typically has that problem, but I really have in the last year โ and I need something to switch my brain off, it has been Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. God bless those girlsโ โ now thatโs some breakup advice we can get around!
Garner also explained that her daughter, Violet, was helping her through the divorce: โIโm happy to have her; sheโs happy to have me.โ

Environmentally friendly feminist goddess, Emma Watson just stepped out in Paris to hide books as part of her feminist book club, Our Shared Shelf.
As per, Emma looked incredible. But as anyone who follows the 27-year-old would know, thereโs more to her outfits than just looking good.
The actress only wears sustainable fashion, documenting her looks โ and the back story of the chosen label โ on her Instagram account, The Press Tour.
This time around? Emma chose to wear a dress from Australian label KitXโs Resort 18 collection.
The Active Citizen Dress is made of sustainably sourced, organically derived silk organza and is dyed using low impact, fibre reactive dyes. Itโs also lined with ECONYL, which is a unique material created from upcycled, reclaimed marine litter, removed from European waters by the โHealthy Seasโ initiative, and transformed into new yarn via a closed loop system.
Anyone else impressed?
This isnโt the first time Emma has worn a dress by KitX, either. Just last month the actress wore KitX on the red carpet at the MTV Movie & TV Awards, where she received Hollywoodโs first gender neutral award.
Her latest look, which was modelled during Kit Xโs Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia show in April, is available for pre-order now.

We all know when Kim Kardashian does something, she really commits.
Thatโs why we werenโt surprised to learn she went all out for her KKW Beauty Launch party on Tuesday night.
On top of wearing the mini dress version of her white off-the-shoulder Vivienne Westwood Met Gala gown, the makeup mogul made sure her house โ where she hosted the event โ was in tip-top shape for all the beauty influencers, celebrities, friends and family that came out to support.
In the most extra move ever, Kim transformed her home and painted the walls the exact same shade of โmillennialโ pink as her products packaging.
To make things even better however, the news was revealed by none other than Kimโs mom and manager (momager), Kris Jenner. And of course, she took complete advantage of the moment with an impromptu Instagram photo shoot.
โThe moment I realised I matched @kimkardashian @kkwbeauty packaging perfectly. Kim painted the walls in her house to match her packaging for her launch!! #perfectionist #workethic #beautiful#flawless #proudmama #nudeonnudeonnude,โ Jenner captioned her photo on Instagram.
Before the launch, Kardashian revealed 300,000 kits were available to keep up with her fanโs demand. After hitting the Internet at 9 a.m in the US, the โMediumโ kit sold out first, and the other three shades followed suit shortly after. All 300,000 kits are expected to earn Kim close to $20 million.

In 2015, Friends star Courtney Cox shocked fans when she stepped out onto the red carpet sporting a plumper looking face that had the air of cosmetic surgery written all over it.
Dermal fillers had left the dark-haired, normally natural beauty looking almost unrecognisable.
Then vs. Now (Credit: Getty)
Now, the 53-year-old actress has had her facial fillers dissolved โ and sheโs just happy to be โlooking like myself again.โ
Cox explained in a recent interview with New Beauty that: โI think that I now look more like the person that I was (before adjustments). I hope I do. Things are going to change. Everythingโs going to drop. I was trying to make it not drop, but that made me look fake.โ
The Hollywood A-lister first revealed that she was having regrets about going under the knife in August last year when she told Cosmopolitan, โI think thereโs a pressure to maintain [your looks] not just because of fame, but just being a woman in this business. Getting older, I donโt think thatโs the easiest thing. But I have learned lessons. I think I was trying to keep up with getting older and trying to chase that. Itโs something you canโt keep up with.โ
For the record, we think that Courtney has always been *beautiful*, no matter what.

Pauline Hanson sparked a nationwide debateโand many furious comments from parentsโfor her remarks about autistic children and schooling.
The senator claimed that autistic children should be removed from mainstream classrooms and instead be taught in separate areas in the Senate on Wednesday.
One of those outraged Australians who hit back at Hanson was fashion designer Alex Perry, who admits he usually shies away from political statements.
But in an all-caps Instagram caption, Perryโa passionate advocate for the AEIOU Foundationโslammed Hansonโs โshameful commentsโ.
โI never make political commentsโฆ This is my exceptionโฆ In the face of the ignorant, offensive and shameful comments against children with autism I feel compelled to,โ he posted.
โIโve been an ambassador for AEIOU Foundation for 10 years (one of my proudest achievements). Our goal as an intervention program is to teach and nurture these amazingly beautiful children and help them integrate into regular schools and live lives like any child.โ
The designer criticised the perspective that children on the autism spectrum should be segregated from their school peers.
โThe suggestion that they should be segregated flies in the face of everything that I believe in. Is Pauline Hanson aware that autistic children already live in darkness and solitude?โ he wrote. โOur human responsibility is to illuminate these childrenโs lives, include them, not segregate them.โ
The Project host Waleed Aly also hit back at Hansonโs comments and spoke out about his nine-year-old son Zayd who has autism.
โOne of the problems with autism โ and one of the problems with what Pauline Hanson said about it yesterday โ itโs not that itโs never true that it can be really difficult for teachers. But itโs that the experience of autism is so diverse that you canโt possibly categorise it in this way,โ he explained in an interview on Hit Networkโs Carrie & Tommy radio show.
Alyโs son was diagnosed in 2011, news.com.au reports.
โI actually thought, โOh great, the world makes sense nowโ. And now we know exactly what to do, we can handle this. And heโs thriving, heโs coping really well,โ he recounted. โBut I can imagine for other parents it wouldnโt be like that at all. Because when you have a diagnosis, what that triggers in a lot of peopleโs minds is this is lifelong and I suppose it kind of is.โ

The male model accused of raping an unconscious woman in a Manhattan apartment apologised, saying he thought the victim was her flatmate.
The woman, who had fallen asleep after a night of drinking, woke up to find Romero kissing her neck while having sex with her.
โI heard her say, โGet off me! Get off me!โ and then he said, โIโm sorry! I thought you were [your roommate],โ the victimโs flatmate told The New York Post, saying she heard noises coming from the bedroom.
The accused, Henry Romero, had spent the night drinking with both women. The victimโs flatmate says she had told Romero he could sleep on the floor in their lounge so he didnโt have to make the long trip back to his accommodation.
But when he started โacting creepyโ as the night went on, she decided to leave the bar and go home.
โHe said, โI want you to dance for me โ thatโs why I brought you here,โโ she recalled. โThe way he said it was just weird.โ
She left and got something to eat on the way home, saying that when she got there Romero was on the floor, sleeping.
Her friend, who was visiting from overseas had, for some reason, switched beds with her, so she went into the empty bedroom and fell asleep, only to wake a few hours later to a commotion in the next room.
She says she heard Romero apologising, saying heโd mistaken the victim for her flatmate, while the woman screamed, โWhat do you mean! Sheโs blonde and I have black hair!โ
Romero was released on bail on felony rape charges and is due back in court on August 1st.

When Matty J was left heartbroken by Georgia Love on last season of The Bachelorette, the whole country felt his pain โ and also wondered how on earth Georgia could turn down such a charming hunk of a man?!
But rather quickly we realised that Mattyโs heartbreak meant that we would potentially get to have him on our screens again as The Bachelor, and suddenly things didnโt seem quite so bad.
In March, our dreams turned to reality when the 29-year-old announced the news, writing: โI can finally announce that yes, I will be the next Bachelor. I never could have imagined Iโd be given this opportunity. Iโm beyond excited to start this incredible adventure and to find the special girl Iโve been waiting for.โ
*Swoon*
Now, the first glimpse of Matty J as The Bachelor is here, featuring a brilliant amount of topless, surfer babe shots and abs. Lots of abs.
Given that youโve probably skipped this entire intro and are already on round three of the below clip, weโll shut up and give the people what they want.
Introducing, Matty J:
โI think itโs hard to meet an amazing person. And last year I was able to meet someone who was pretty special,โ he says in the trailer.
โI really did love Georgia.โ
But โover time wounds do heal,โ he continues. โAnd the prospect of falling in love again is more exciting than anything else.โ
A premiere date for The Bachelor Australia 2017 is yet to be announced โ but youโll be the first to know when it is.

Greens Senator Larissa Waters made history by feeding her daughter Alia Joy while moving a Senate motion in Canberra on Thursday.
โFirst time Iโve had to move a Senate motion while breastfeeding!โ she tweeted afterwards. โAnd my partner in crime moved her own motion just before mine, bless her.โ
While women across Australia praised Waters for her brilliant spot of multitasking, she also received ridiculous abuse for the act. On Twitter, the senator shared a shocking text message she had received:
Back in May, Senator Waters celebrated her decision to breastfeed in parliament: โI am so proud that my daughter Alia is the first baby to be breastfed in the Federal Parliament,โ she said.
โWe need more women and parents in Parliament. And we need more family-friendly and flexible workplaces, and affordable childcare, for everyone.โ

Californian parents Sara and Paul McGlocklin began to worry when their one-year-old daughter Marian started forgetting how to say some of the first words she had learnt.
โWhen she was around nine months old she learnt how to say โhiโ and โbyeโ but suddenly one day stopped saying them regularly,โ mother Sara explained, as reported by the NZHerald. โPaul and I noticed this happening on a few occasions with new words or actions that she learnt.โ
The parentโs frantic concerns were explained by the little girlโs diagnosis in February: according to doctors she has Niemann-Pick disease type C, a terminal disease commonly referred to as โchildhood Alzheimerโsโ.
โThe doctor[โs] words still ring clear, โThe test did show something and itโs seriousโ. Time stood still,โ Marianโs mother wrote on a fundraising page for their toddler.
โTo hear those words and know that something is wrong with her โ itโs devastating. Itโs something you just donโt want to think about,โ father Paul told ABC7.
There are an estimated 100-2000 cases of NPC worldwide and most children will die before age 10 without treatment.
โShe remembers who we are and doesnโt have any of the advanced symptoms just yet, but she does have a few early symptoms including forgetfulness,โ Marianโs mother explained.
While there is no cure for the deadly condition, Marian has recently received investigative treatment of the drug Cyclodextrin (VTS 270). The little girl has since started remembering actions and words that she had lost.
โMarian is the youngest patient in the entire world to be receiving it, we are not 100 per cent sure what to expect but at the moment it seems to be working,โ her mother told Mail Online.
โMarian is starting to remember the things she had previously stopped doing. And she is now using signs that she has learnt several times a day whereas before she would only remember them every couple of days.โ
Sara added: โOver the past few months she has really come to life, I didnโt realise some of the things that she loved until she started the treatment.โ
The family has launched a GoFundMe crowdfunding page to help contribute to medical expenses. You can donate here.

The vending machine of our dreams has just touched down on Australian soil โ brought to you by none other than Moรซt Chandon.
Think lustrous lines of mini Moรซt bottles (495 of them to be exact!), chilled to perfection and filled with fizzy goodness โ all yours at the push of a button!
Sound amazing?
Well, for $29, you can buy a gold token coin to feed into the vending fridge, which will in turn give you your very own 200ml Moรซt moment.
The only thing left to do, is pop that cork and attach a specially-designer gold sipper, which magically turns the bottle into a makeshift champagne flute.
And if you are worried about the vending machine shaking, dropping or straight out breaking your bottle โ fear not! These machines will hand the bottles over even more gently than you could grab them off a shelf.
With the vending machine fast becoming a retail frontier, Moรซt first started the trend in Londonโs Selfridges in 2013. The only difference was, their bottles were adorned with Swarovski crystalsโฆwhich seems a little fancy but also came with a hefty ยฃ18 price tag.
So, this Saturday, the first of (hopefully) many Moรซt vendors will appear at โ *drum roll please* โ The Star Gold Coastโs Garden Kitchen & Bar.

If youโre looking for love in a hopeless place, you call Rihanna.
Why, you ask? Well, the singer/designer/creative director/all around lady boss has recently come to the aid of a fan with a broken heart. And itโs the best thing ever.
Rihanna
User @WaladShami wrote the 29-year-old a Twitter Direct Message, saying โHey Robs, how did you get over your first heartbreak?โ He added,โIโve been struggling.โ
And because Rih is the gift we donโt deserve, she actually responded with some seriously amaze advice.
The Grammy winner wrote, โJust believe that the heartbreak was a gift in itself! Cry if you have to, but it wonโt be forever!โ
She added, โYou will find love again and it will be even more beautiful! In the meantime, enjoy all that YOU are!!!โ
This isnโt the first time Rihanna has helped a struggling fan by sliding in the DMs.
In 2016, she helped one of her followers come to terms with his sexual identity. The man reached out to her directly to share his fears about coming out to his family. She wrote back, โBaby itโs okay to be scared, but itโs more important to be who you really are!โ
She continued, โYou donโt have a choice really! Thatโs not a decision to be made! You are who you are, and as hard as it may seem, the best sโt ever is freedom and peace with yourself!โ
โYour family may not understand, but luckily you live in a generation that does!! And not to mention the community here amongst us, we will hold you down boo!! #NavyRdie,โ wrote the hitmaker.
Later, the fan got in touch to say heโd been opening up about his sexuality to those around him, gradually coming out to them. He said he wouldnโt have done it without her support.
He wrote, โI finally came out to my second close friend over here. Iโm feeling so good Rih, thanks to you.โ

An inquest into the death of 14-year-old UK girl Megan Hoyle has found she took her own life after sending a heartbreaking final text message to her friend.
The Blackburn teenager took a fatal overdose of her motherโs prescription medication in February and tragically died four days later in hospital, Lancashire radio station 2BR reports.
The inquest heard Megan sent a text to her friend, Christopher Cozens, that said: โIf you get his message it is too late and I am sorry. I am sorry Iโm not strong enough. I promise I will be better in another life, be happy, be braver.โ
https://twitter.com/2br/status/877643588028518402
The message continued: โI was strong once. I was internally beautiful but that girl died at 12-years-old when he ruined my body, my mind and my soul.โ
Metro reports the teenager had been struggling to cope after being assaulted at age 12.
East Lancashire coroner Michael Singleton explained that the young girlโs organs have been donated, which will save four other peopleโs lives.
โThat the family could have the strength to consider the organ donation is awe-inspiring,โ he said.
โTo give life to four other people is amazing.โ

At the beginning, youโre ripping each otherโs clothes off, having sex two to three times every day, buying nice lingerie (only to throw it on the floor two hours later), and sending *riske* snaps.
But a year later, youโre pretending youโre tired โ or have a headache โ or have too much work on โ or weirdly got your period twice in a month, just to avoid the actโฆ sound familiar?
Itโs not exactly news to anyone that couplesโ sexual relationship tends to slow once as the years go on or once you have children, but what if youโve only been together a few months โ essentially still โin the honeymoon phaseโ โ and youโd rather call in sick than do the deed?
While itโs not often talked about, complete loss of sex drive, specifically towards oneโs partner, is a lot more common in Australian women (and men) than youโd think.
In fact, one in five Australians have sex less than once a month, according to a Body+Soul survey, undertaken earlier this year.
But that doesnโt mean itโs ok. I mean, who seriously wants to go the rest of their lives attempting to avoid sex?
Side note: Youโre definitely not the only one suffering here; it really sucks for your partner, too.
Why do sex drives fade?
Some experts believe that a lack of desire can stem from a lack of education.
โWe live in a society where we get no education or information about sex whatsoever,โ says sex therapist and relationship coach Jacqueline Hellyer. โWe get a bit of reproduction education, but no one teaches us about pleasure. No one teaches us about lovemaking.โ
Once adults, any โeducationโ tends to come from movie scenes and porn, creating unrealistic expectations and sexual standards for both parties involved.
Body insecurities can be another factor, says Hellyer.
โPeople have a lot of trouble being open and vulnerable enough to actually have good sex or to identify what their sexual needs are and communicate them to their partner.โ
When asked, her clients are constantly saying theyโre โtoo embarrassedโ to talk about their sexual desires, they โdonโt know,โ or simply โ and very unrealistically โ that โhe should knowโ how to satisfy them.
โIโm amazed at how many women โ independent, educated, successful women โ seem to still think they can just leave it up to the man to do everything.โ
Another common mistake? Thinking that a low sex drive only affects women.
โIt is such a myth that men are gagging for it all the time,โ says Hellyer, before revealing that she actually sees more men with lower libido than women.
But regardless of whether youโre male or female, feeling more turned by a PG movie scene that your partnerโs lovemaking can feel pretty dispiriting and isolating.
Donโt feel too bad, says sex and relationship counsellor Christina Spaccavento. โThere can be many reasons why we feel a low sex drive towards our partner, even if we still feel a strong attraction towards them. Low sex drive can be the result of something simple like exhaustion or it can be more complex, so donโt feel discouraged if you are struggling to get your mojo on.โ
And the good news? While the reasons for a low libido โ even at the beginning of a relationship โ can vary from person to person, it can usually be improved (with some effort).
What to do about a fading sex drive
โThe first thing to do is talk to your partner about how you are feeling. Explore together when this change started to occur and whether either of you can pinpoint any reasons why that could be,โ says Spaccavento.
โIf you can identify why, you can try to work through some solutions together with your partner. But if that feels too overwhelming, reaching out to a trained and experienced therapist is a great way to work on resolving your lack of sex drive.โ
โPeople are constantly saying, โI wish weโd come in earlier!โ and, โnow I have hope, God, thatโs a relief,โโ Jacqueline says of her clients.
Another easy trap to fall into is that of assuming any physical contact has to lead to sex, and therefore, avoiding it altogether says Spaccavento.
She warns that many people stop kissing their partners passionately out of a fear that their partners will get excited that sex is on the cards.
When, in actual fact, that kissing is likely to get you aroused, and theyโre most likely to just be wanting some sort of physical contact from the person they love.
โMost men, when their partners allude to them constantly wanting sex, say, โNo, I want time with you. Sure, Iโd love to have sex with you because youโre gorgeous, but I just donโt want you to ignore me. I donโt want you to turn your shoulder to me. I want to engage with you,โโ says Hellyer.
โIf you can change your view and instead think instead: โWhat can I say yes to right now? What do I actually desire right now?โ Whether itโs a conversation, a cuddle, or a kiss, itโs progress.โ

Grace Montoya was not expecting a rush of social media fame after uploading a photographic series of herself to Twitter.

Why?
Because Twitter is 100% sure it has found Selena Gomezโs doppelganger โ with a frenzy of comments on the photo, captioned โI was so much cooler last Summer,โ expressing their disbelief.
With all of the commotion, we couldnโt help but have a look ourselves.

A Sydney plasterer has been found guilty of recruiting a teenager to set his girlfriend on fire.
The reason? Mohammed Ali Fouani, now 45, wanted his Korean English student girlfriend to give up her job as a sex worker and live with him, the Sydney Morning Heraldreports.
A District Court jury heard the man would spend up to $1000 for hours-long sessions with the sex worker.
Fouani explained in his police interview that โit was beautiful, everything was perfectโ when the woman said she would become his girlfriend and give up her line of work.
It was beautiful, everything was perfect
But she delayed leaving the job in March 2012. A day later, she was set alight outside the Sydney brothel where she worked by a teenager Fouani recruited.
The Daily Telegraph reports the woman was lit on fire and engulfed in flames for 17 seconds. She has permanent scarring after suffering burns to 45 percent of her body.
A jury heard Fouani threatened to harm the teenager and his family if he did not undertake the attack.
Fouani maintained he was innocent, but was found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and to recruiting a child to carry out a criminal act.

Selena Gomez has a style coveted by millions of girls worldwide. Her vintage-chic look always makes her look effortless, though we all know some serious planning went on behind the scenes to achieve those looks.
The stylist behind the celeb, Christian Classen, has recently shared some of his styling tips on Selena to E! News, from how he created her street style looks to the outrageous outfits she wore on her Revival Tour.
โMy job is to curate a visual brand that is very specific to each individual client through color, silhouette, mood and vibe,โ he said.
โThe world then starts to identify and say, โHey, I want to look like this celebrity or that celebrity.โ For example, no matter the overall style direction, the pieces I choose for Selena are always clean and classic but have a twist to them.โ
โItโs like a simple blue jean, but itโs deconstructed. Or a classic cat-eye frame, but the lens is red instead of black.โ
Classen continues on to say that a pair of expensive shoes will help you go further than an expensive dress.
โYou can wear a $10 dress with beautiful shoes and you look elevated. Cheap shoes with an expensive dress? Automatically looks like a cheap dress.โ
He recommends not following trends and instead, investing in classic, staple pieces tailored to your body. โYour closet will never age.โ
Music inspires him, and so do cult figures like Vanessa Traina, Audrey Hepburn, Lauren Hutton and Wednesday Adams.
To Classen, thereโs only one thing that makes a key outfit, and itโs something that all of us can afford.
โA smile. If you go through all the best red carpet photos, they are always smiling, confident and relaxed. Nothing is worse than a girl who looks miserable.โ

Prince Harry has recalled his mother Princess Dianaโs funeral, saying that as a 12-year-old boy who had just lost their mum, the public event was incredibly hard.
โMy mother had just died, and I had to walk a long way behind her coffin, surrounded by thousands of people watching me while millions more did on television.โ
โI donโt think any child should be asked to do that, under any circumstances,โ he told Newsweek magazine.
โI donโt think it would happen today.โ
On September 6, 1997, Prince Harry walked behind his motherโs coffin with older brother Prince William, father Prince Charles, grandfather Prince Philip and maternal uncle Charles Spencer.
His mother had died just seven days earlier.
Harry, who has been open about his grief surrounding his mumโs death, says Princess Diana always wanted her sons to have as much of an โordinaryโ life as possible, and that he makes sure continuing that is a high priority.
โMy mother took a huge part in showing me an ordinary life, including taking me and my brother to see homeless people.โ
Thank goodness Iโm not completely cut off from reality. People would be amazed by the ordinary life William and I live.โ
โI do my own shopping. Sometimes, when I come away from the meat counter in my local supermarket, I worry someone will snap me with their phone. But I am determined to have a relatively normal life, and if I am lucky enough to have children, they can have one too.โ

In what can only be described as one of the more bizarre social media unveilings, cleared murder suspect Amanda Knox has made her Instagram public.
โWhatโs happening? Well, I made my Instagram public. No more hoarding all my amazing cat videos. Check them out at Instagram.com/amamaknox,โ she tweeted.
What's happening? Well, I made my Instagram public. No more hoarding all my amazing cat videos. Check them out at https://t.co/qyVKxaAgFR
And while the account is filled with images of her aforementioned cat (as promised), it also features photos of Knox dressed up as Little Red Riding Hood.
The moody photo was shot in the Black Forest in Germany, according to reports from The Telegraph UK.
The Seattle native, once dubbed โFoxy Knoxy,โ was locked up for four years in an Italian jail for the 2007 murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher in Perugia.
She was originally sentenced to 26 years in prison, along with her then-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, who got 25 years โ but both were acquitted in 2011.
After Knox returned to the US, a higher court in Italy reversed the acquittal in 2013, sentencing her again to prison before she was cleared for the second and last time in March 2015.
The trial and subsequent acquittals were the subject of the 2016 Netflix documentary titled โAmanda Knox.โ
Knox has filled the rest of the Instagram with dozens of travel photos featuring her boyfriend Christopher Robinson, as well as pics at home in Seattle.

Almost every time Carrie Bickmore graces our TV screens weโre left wondering which designer sheโs wearing, whether itโs still available to shop, and how she got her hair looking so damn perfect.
Thankfully, due to the discovery of this Instagram account, two out of those three pressing questions have been answered.
The account in question is called whatcarriebickmorewore, and documents Carrieโs outfits from July 2016 onwards.
Each post notes the style, design and price of the pieces in her outfit, as well as propping a photo of Carrie wearing the outfit next to a model in the same.
After a casual [read: hour-long] scroll through the account, we were pleased to notice that all of the designers included were Australian, with most of them falling around the High Street price point.
C/MEO Collective, Keepsake, Morrison and Thurley were amongst the labels most commonly featured, with lots of lace, dramatic sleeves and shoulder-baring detailing.
The account is gaining popularity quickly, and is already at 11.6k followers. If thatโs not a testament to Carrie Bickmoreโs timeless style, we donโt know what is.

Most people leave university with a degree and a mountain of student dept. Ziah Lane left with a multi-million dollar business idea.
For the final project of her masterโs degree in graphic design, Lane was asked to come up with an environmentally friendly brand. Her idea was No Issue Tissues โ tree-free tissues made out of bamboo fibres.
Not only did she pass her assignment; but Lane decided her business idea was good enough to launch. โI did so much research for that project and I realised that the technology existed [to make the product], but no one had. It was such a simple idea, but no one had explored it,โ she says. Who better to explore it than Lane herself?
https://www.instagram.com/p/BP8JEoHAbdB/
While the idea was simple, developing a prototype wasnโt easy for someone with no manufacturing experience. Lane worked on product samples with Chinese suppliers for around a year until she got it perfect. โ[That year] was really hard because I wasnโt getting paid, but I loved the idea so much and believed in it, so it was all worth it in the end,โ she says.
It was especially worth it when the product launched in Woolworths in 2015. โIt was exhilarating. I couldnโt believe the product was on the shelves and people were buying it,โ says Lane, who bought a packet herself so she could look at it on the docket. Yes, she totally told the checkout chick that she created the tissues. โI think I embarrassed everyone,โ she says, with a laugh.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BNsHlTkA8iN/
In the two years since, No Issues Tissues has expanded to Harris Farm, Coles and a major Hong Kong supermarket chain. The business employs eight people and Lane, now 38, is expecting to turn over $2 million this year.
The biggest lesson sheโs learnt is that dreams can come true, โYou can actually do anything if you believe in it enough.โ Hereโs howโฆ
Secret to success: They say, love what you do and youโll never work a day in your life. Thatโs definitely the secret; if it doesnโt feel like work then thatโs how youโll achieve success.
Breakfast of champions: Vegemite on toast with eggs.
Best advice: Explore all avenues and donโt give up when something doesnโt work. There is always another way of doing something. Someone very good at business told me that and Iโve never forgotten it.
Hardest lesson: Your gut feeling is usually right. Iโve regretted times when I didnโt go with my gut.
Top interview tip: Good manners are really important.
Coffee order: My new coffee order is really annoying โ itโs a flat white with half almond milk, half regular milk.

Intimate footage of an 18-year-old Kate Moss has surfaced in a new campaign for Calvin Kleinโs fragrance, Obsessed.
Captured in the 90โs, the series of dreamlike black-and-white film footage, shot by Kateโs then-boyfriend, Mario Sorrenti, showcases the pairโs Summer romance and accentuates Kateโs natural beauty.
Bare faced, with a spray of freckles across her nose, the supermodel can be seen frolicking in the soft ocean waves of the British Virgin Islands, soaking up the sun and basking by the seaside.
The short film, which was, in fact, a collation of behind-the-scenes footage from Kateโs iconic 1993 shoot for the fashion houseโs Obsessed fragrance, was rediscovered when Raf Simon wanted to revisit the campaign.
โOne of the first things we did when we arrived at Calvin Klein was look at the Obsession archive. It was then that we discovered so many images that had never been seen and began to really understand the true love story behind Kate and Marioโs campaign,โ the designer told Fashionista.
โIt is a story of an iconic and inspiring moment in fashion photography as much as a deeply personal and human love story, the two are intertwined and can never really be replicated again.โ
Reflecting on his relationship with Kate, Mario Sorrenti describes his girlfriend at the time as his muse.
โI was so passionate about photography, and Kate and I were in loveโฆ I loved photographing her,โ said Sorrenti.
โShe was the closest person to me. I would take pictures of her all of the time, and sometimes it drove her crazy, and other times she loved to be part of it. We had really good times.โ
โWe were young, and I was never again so obsessed or so in love with photographing one person.โ
But Kate has a different recollection, revealing in a 2015 interview with Nick Knight that the relationship crumbled due to Sorrentiโs persistent photographing and pushing for her to go beyond her comfortabilities.
โI would wake up in the morning and heโd be taking pictures of meโฆ I laid like that for 10 days, he would not stop taking pictures of that.โ
But really, the most remarkable aspect of this Calvin Klein campaign, is that Kate didnโt even need to turn up to a shoot this time round โ with the revamped men and womenโs fragrance set to make around $50 million at retail in its first year, according to WWD.

In 2014, Catherine Ross received the devastating news that she had stage III bowel cancer. Her cancer has since spread to her liver, lungs and spleen. To mark Bowel Cancer Awareness month, Catherine shares her story
I was diagnosed with stage III bowel cancer at the end of 2014 at age 28. Iโm a primary school teacher and at the time had just started a new job at an amazing school in Melbourne.
Before I was diagnosed, I had really painful cramps and was severely constipated for a while and twice ended up at emergency in hospital. By the second emergency department visit I was vomiting and could hardly eat. I was in a lot of pain so they said I should get a colonoscopy. That colonoscopy was how my tumor was found.
My husband Jamie was with me at the doctorโs appointment when I found out. I remember just bursting into tears and the feelings of disbelief. You go through stages of crying, feelings of fear and weirdly almost wanting to laugh with the feeling of โIs this real? Is this really happening to me? Did I not eat the right food?โ At the time, I was a healthy, active 28-year-old.
Catherine during treatment. Supplied
Following my diagnosis I had a sub-total colectomy (an operation to remove to remove part of the colon), followed by six months of chemotherapy.
Chemotherapy takes a toll in many ways, mentally and physically. Chemo brain is a real thing! You get forgetful and a bit fuzzy. My hair thins, but the drugs I am on thankfully do not cause full hair loss. The nausea isnโt great.
In late 2015, I was diagnosed with secondary bowel cancer, and had another major operation, with part of my liver removed, both ovaries removed and a lot of clearing of tumours in my peritoneum. I also had HIPEC (heated intra-peritoneal chemotherapy) during this operation.
Our wedding date was set 21 days after the operation, but Jamie and I decided not to postpone, as we had been planning it for over a year. So despite many worried family and friends telling us to hold off, we got married on New Yearโs Eve in 2015. The wedding was on our farm in NSW, so that was really special.
It was pretty funny because most brides stress about their dresses and putting on weight, whereas I had lost weight because of the operation and my dress didnโt actually fit properly at the back.
I was on painkillers and I had a wound all the way from my chest down to below my undie line. But I could walkโwalking down the aisle with my dad was amazing.
Jamie and I walked into our wedding reception to Pharrell Williamsโ song โHappy!โ That one was my choice.
We are so glad we followed our hearts, especially seeing as I had to have another six months of chemo at the start of 2016. So it was a great lesson to us to live in the moment.

We had always assumed that we would have children at some stage, but we hadnโt planned on having children in the time before we were married.
Before my chemotherapy, the doctor recommended that I harvest my eggs because chemotherapy can affect your fertility. Luckily, there was a window after my first operation before I started chemotherapy, so I do have eggs that are frozen.
Sadly, after my second operation, both of my ovaries were removed. I canโt have children naturally now, but I can still carry a child, so IVF is definitely a possibility for us. Surrogacy is also an option, but at the moment, Iโm just going through treatment.

I try now to work really hard on my mindset, diet, exercise and seeing the good in everything. I really focus moving daily, as well as taking supplements and getting acupuncture to support my immune system.
Being diagnosed with cancer and going through operations and treatment really changes the way you look at life and how you live your life.
I went through a stage, probably about two years ago, where I really did get anxious and depressed. Questions like โWhy do I have cancer?โ and โHow do I deal with it?โ You have to put time into working through things.
Sometimes you feel really isolated during cancer treatment, like no one around you can fully understand. But Iโve been really lucky to connect with a new friend that I met through an old friend, about the same age as me, who is sadly going through a similar thing. Itโs really helpful chatting to them, having a bit of a moan every now and then and knowing the other knows exactly how it feels. Jamie and I have never been closer and try to support each other in every way. In a lot of ways our situation has only made us stronger!

We have recently moved from Melbourne to a small farm near Birregurra. We also have four chooks, two pet goats, and two dairy calves we are hand rearing. We are hoping to run goats and cattle on our farm soon.
We also have a six month old Golden Labrador puppy called Margaret. Margaret and I walk every morning. We are totally besotted with her!
Sadly my secondaries has returned, in my liver and lungs. I was on a clinical trial at the start of this year which unfortunately was unsuccessful, so I have gone back onto chemotherapy in the last month to try to keep my cancer under control.
The doctors have told us that the chemotherapy and immunotherapy drugs I am on will not cure my cancer, but it is hoped they will keep it under control, from growing or spreading further at this stage.
Knowing there is no cure for my cancer is really hard. Thatโs why weโve started a little fundraiser group called โResearch4Rineyโ. Riney is one of my nicknames.
I feel like fundraising for research is something proactive and positive that I can do. Jamie and I feel that it is a way we can try to help not only me but others too.
We are going to host different fundraisers in the next few months, with all funds raised going to Bowel Cancer Australia, Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation and The Jodi Lee Foundation. Jamie and some family and friends are also going to participate in the Jodi Lee Trek 2017 in September.
I think an important message to take away for anyone is that anybody can get cancer, even if you are young and otherwise healthy.
I think lifestyle and diet play an important role. I love the saying โpositive mind, positive vibes, positive lifeโ.
Eating less meat, especially processed meat is important, as well as including a lot more veggies, especially leafy greensโeat the rainbow! Stress is a really dangerous thing, which can affect your health in many ways.
You donโt think when youโre 28 that youโre going to get cancer, but at the end of the day you only have one body and thatโs been a really important lesson for me.

A young Sri Lankan woman has spoken out about the horrors of being forced into marriage when she was just 15.
In an interview with the BBC, Shafa explained that she had fallen in love when she was a schoolgirl.
โWhile studying for exams, I fell in love with a boy,โ she recounted
โMy parents did not like it. They sent me to my uncleโs place. While I was studying there, a regular visitor told my aunt and uncle that he wanted to marry me,โ she said.
Although the legal age for marriage is 18 in Sri Lanka, younger Muslim girls are allowed to marry under the Muslim Marriage and Divorce Act.
Young Shafa was beaten when she expressed her objection to the marriage and took desperate measures to escape the union.
โI cut my arms as there was no other option,โ she recounts. โI also took some pills from my uncleโs place.
โWhile I was being treated in hospital, they bribed the doctors and took me โ together with my saline bottle โ to a private hospital. A few days later they forced me to marry that man.โ
During the marriage, Shafa was beaten and was thrown to the floor when she told her husband she was pregnant.
โHe then told me that he only wanted me for the one night, heโd already had me and didnโt need me any more,โ she recalls.
Shafa miscarried as a result of the trauma. She later received abusive texts and calls from other men in the village after her husband shared her contact number on social media.
Although her father has refused to get involved, Shafaโs mother helped her find psychological and legal help at a social welfare centre.
But there are many girls that know Shafaโs experience all too well.
Girls Not Brides reports 2 percent of children are married by age 15 and 12 percent by 18.
