The British Fashion Council has announced that this yearโs London Fashion Week will be fur free for the first time in history.
After surveying all of the designers involved โ including Victoria Beckham, Erdem, JW Anderson and Burberry โ the BFC confirmed that animal fur wouldnโt be seen on the London Fashion Week catwalks, which will kick off on Friday.
โThe survey results reflect a cultural change based on ideals and choice made by designer businesses, international brands as well as consumer sentiment โ but also encouraged by the stance of multi-brand stores who are moving away from selling fur,โ the BFC wrote in a statement.
The announcement comes after Burberry revealed it would no longer use animal fur in its collections. โModern luxury means being socially and environmentally responsible. This belief is core to us at Burberry and key to our long-term success,โ said Marco Gobbetti, Chief Executive Officer at Burberry.
Likewise Victoria Beckham, who is showing at London Fashion Week for the first time this year, is a long-time supporter of the anti-fur movement and has always said she would never work with fur in her fashion collections.
The fashion pack have spoken: fur is out and faux is in.

The first thing you notice about an Alfa Romeo is that they look way better than most other cars. That Italian styling is hard to beat, but it doesn't look too ostentatious. They've hit the perfect blend of refined chic with an understated style that makes even a mid-sized SUV look good, which is no easy feat. And a special mention goes to the curves on top of the dash where the speedo is, because they make it feel like you're in a tiny retro sportscar, driving along the Italian Riviera.
Driving completely surpassed my expectations and I felt confident zooming all over Sydney with this peppy engine. It looks fairly incredible both inside and out and is one of those cars you really develop an affinity with - which isn't just looks-based, surprise surprise. It has all the latest safety features you're after with a family and enough space to fit the whole family and then some.

Designer Brandon Maxwellโs show at New York Fashion Week had a star-studded model line-up, but Victoria Secret model Lily Aldridge had the most special accessory on the night โ her growing baby bump.
The model, who recentlyannounced sheโs expecting her second childwith Kings of Leon frontman Caleb Foley, hit the runway wearing a stunning fitted red halter-dress. The couple are already parents to a six-year-old daughter, Dixie Pearl.
Aldridge shared a few snapshots of herself on the runway in an Instagram gallery, which garnered likes from fellow models Martha Hunt and Brooklyn Decker as well as Brandon Maxwell himself. โI love you Lily!!!!!โ he commented. โWhat a JOY it was to work with you.โ
โSo proud to walk the @brandonmaxwell runway 5 months pregnant! Iโve walked few runways in my life and this is a moment that Iโll look back on forever with great emotion,โ Aldridge captioned the photos. โThank you Brandon for letting my shine & being such a true gentleman, Love you FOREVER!!!โ

While the front-runners on this season of The Bachelor keep changing โ there are a few names that are constantly coming up in the mix. From our in-depth digging, Brooke, Brittany, Sophie and Cass are the main contenders to win Nick โHoney Badgerโ Cumminsโ heart.
However, someone who has been there, done that, and knows a thing or two about the process reckons there is one reported front-runner we can rule out โ and thereโs one major reason why.
So remember that story last week where Cass was spotted wearing a ring on that finger looking like the cat who got the cream? Sure you do. Well, according to former Bachelor contestant-turned-Australiaโs first Bachelorette, Sam Frost, thereโs no way thatโs the ring because the moment filming stops, the sparkler goes on lockdown until the show finishes.
โThe ring used in the finale is taken away by producers almost immediately after filming stops and is locked in a safe,โ the Bachelor alum told Mamamia.
โThere is no way the โwinnerโ would be allowed anywhere near it until after the finale airs.โ
And Sam would know, despite famously being dumped by bad-boy Bachelor Blake Garvey just days after the final rose ceremony, before it all went pear-shaped she received a ring.

When it comes to celebrity couples who capture all our couple #goals there are none that come even close to Gossip Girl stunner Blake Lively and Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds.
Not only are this couple so good looking itโs advisable to wear sunglasses when looking at them to save your eyes from being burnt by their glaring good looks, but they also have A-grade personalities to match their looks, as evidenced by their frankly hilarious posts roasting each other on social media.
And what better way for this couple to celebrate being married for six years โ the couple wed on September 9, 2012 in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina โ than with 31-year-old Lively trolling her 41-year-old husband on Instagram.
When Reynolds posted a pic of himself on the side of van advertising his alcohol brand, Aviation Gin, his wife had the best response writing, โWho needs a mini van?! Iโm driving this from now on. Subtle, gorgeous, and OHMYGAWDYOUREHUGE.โ
Luckily Instagram account Comments By Celebs caught the exchange so the internet could enjoy another round of our favourite celebrity couple giving us the best social media of the week.

The man, who remains in custody, is believed to be related to the victims but no further information has been released at this time.
โThis is a tragic event that will have no doubt have an impact, not only on the family and friends of the deceased, but for the whole of the community, those first responders who were faced with attending a scene with multiple deceased people,โ Assistant Commissioner Paul Steel said at a press conference on Sunday.
This is the third mass killing the state this year.
โIt does send a ripple through the community of Western Australia, he continued.
โPart of the homicide squad investigation is going to try and identify the time line of all events which led to this matter. How long the bodies have been there will also form part of that timeline inquiry.โ

Serena Williams competed in the US Open final over the weekend, taking on Japanโs Naomi Osaka, however the match didnโt go Serenaโs way with the champion receiving a cheating penalty from the umpire.
Chair umpire Carlos Ramos penalised the tennis champion for receiving illegal coaching from the player box, People reports.
Williams wasnโt taking the accusation lying down and fired back at the umpire, โI donโt cheat to win, Iโd rather lose. Iโm just letting you know.โ
However the 39-time grand champion wasnโt done there and went on to call Ramos a โthiefโ.
โYou will never, ever, ever be on another court of mine as long as you live,โ she said.
โYou are the liar. When are you going to give me my apology? You owe me an apology. Say it. Say youโre sorry. And you stole a point from me. Youโre a thief, too!โ
Williams then refused to shake Ramosโ hand after the match was over.
Williams went down to Osaka 6-2, 6-4, however her outburst overshadowed the young starโs first-ever grand slam win.
โWell, I donโt want to be rude, I donโt want to do questions,โ Williams said in her on-court interview. โ[Osaka] played well, this is her first Grand Slam. I know you guys were here rooting. Letโs make this the best moment we can. Letโs not boo anymore. Weโre gonna get through this and weโre gonna be positive. No more booing!โ
She then went on to further detail the outburst in her post-match interview, where she claimed the umpireโs remarks were sexist. A claim a number of other plays โ both male and female โ have backed up.
โIโm here fighting for womenโs rights,โ she said.
โThe fact that I have to go through this is just an example for the next person that has emotions and wants to express themselves, and they wanna be a strong woman and theyโre going to be allowed to do that because of today.
โMaybe it didnโt work out for me, but itโs going to work out for the next person.โ
Serena Williams brilliantly took down the sexist double standards at the U.S. Open in her must-see post-match interview pic.twitter.com/D1Sg57Acye
However the fall-out from the outburst didnโt end there, with Williams being fined $US17,000.
US tennis great Billie Jean King took to Twitter to applaud the star for speaking out as well as a number of other stars.
(1/2) Several things went very wrong during the @usopen Womenโs Finals today. Coaching on every point should be allowed in tennis. It isnโt, and as a result, a player was penalized for the actions of her coach. This should not happen.
(2/2) When a woman is emotional, sheโs โhystericalโ and sheโs penalized for it. When a man does the same, heโs โoutspokenโ & and there are no repercussions. Thank you, @serenawilliams, for calling out this double standard. More voices are needed to do the same.
.@serenawilliams You are THE epitome of grace and prowess!!! You are an inspiration to all of us. Your purpose to be a leader and a light is a gift to the world!! .@SerenaWilliams, you have changed the world for the better. Thatโs worth more than a match to me. Congratulations, @Naomi_Osaka_ on your groundbreaking win.
I will admit I have said worse and not gotten penalized. And Iโve also been given a โsoft warningโ by the ump where they tell you knock it off or I will have to give you a violation. He should have at least given her that courtesy. Sad to mar a well played final that way. https://t.co/xhBzFZX8Wq

Despite telling media she would not discuss her relationship, the 20-year-old model opened up about their relationship and how they donโt let the gossip get to them.
โWe are best friends and that is mainly the strongest connection we have. We have always had that best friend connection and from there it has really worked out. I am so happy.โ
Their relationship has been the subject of much gossip, and rumours of a split plagued the pair earlier this year, but she says she doesnโt focus on the negativity, but does admit โitโs hard to fully avoidโฆ I get a good laugh too.โ
โEverything is so false,โ she added. โI donโt read it because I just get really angry.โ

No contestants on this season of The Bachelor have received more air-time, or more flack, than Cat Henesy, Romy Poulier and Alisha Aitken-Radburn.
The trio dubbed โthe mean girlsโ and this seasonโs โvillainsโ, who were sent packing by the Honey Badger this week (alongside intruder Brittany), raised questions over the validity of shows such as this in todayโs climate โ in the age of #metoo do we really need a show pitting women against women in the pursuit of a man?
And while the premise of the show hasnโt changed (and has always been questionable) these days thereโs not only problems with the show from a feminist perspective, but now itโs also raising questions over bullying, gaslighting and mental health.
We chatted to the ladies about their time on the show and the backlash theyโve received, regrets, bullying and who will win the Bachieโs heart.
How are you girls feeling after watching last nightโs episode?
Cat: Yeah, itโs a lot. Thereโs a lot of hate form the public which is the hardest thing and the trolls, but weโve got a good support network around us and weโve got each other and weโre all here to help each other and lift each other up.
Romy: It was a really hard couple of days for me personally. I struggled watching those episodes I found it really confronting because I donโt remember it being like that, itโs a shock just as much for us as it is you guys.
Alicia: It was a long time ago, and it was 167 of filming for one episode, and so thereโs a lot of stuff youโre not seeing and that really results in you really only seeing one side โ which is the villainy side.
R: We were really great mates with the girls in there and thatโs the hardest thing to watch, because that was the best part about the experience for us.
A: And we understand why, because theyโre not going to show us sitting down and having really great yarns and sipping tea because that doesnโt really fit in with the story. They wanted villains and they got villains.
Do you accept responsibility for your behavior though?
C: Completely, we regret a lot of the things we did and weโre ashamed of them and we do apologise for offending people because I know we have and thatโs not cool.
R: In the same breath, with the Tenille thing โ it just didnโt go down like that and itโs been blown up as this big fight between her and I, but the whole house was upset, and theyโve just cut it to be her and I and that sheโs run and I came back up to her and it just didnโt happen that way. But hopefully she will confirm that.
A: I donโt know if she will. Some of the girls are really relishing this I think.
Everyone is pretty tired of reality stars blaming the editing โ youโre consenting adults you go on a show you know youโve got a microphone and cameras on you.
C: Yeah it doesnโt mean we didnโt say the things, we did and we take full ownership of that.
A: More than just the editing though, what we want to share is that youโve only seen one side of us and reality TV is not the place for complex narratives.
C: Call it editing, call it whatever you want but we did say those things, some of them were nasty โ we also did say a lot of really nice things about people but itโs just a shame people didnโt get to see that, but it is what it is we put ourselves in these positions.
A: There was a lot of bitching in the house but some people were just more calculated and tactical about it and doing it off camera.
Thatโs a choice you make going on to these shows isnโt it, and you were happy to say those things for the cameras.
R: I gave an opinion, and I started conversations on camera, that were happening when the cameras werenโt there. Itโs conversations that were going on without the cameras, we all signed on to this and itโs our part of the deal to give an opinion. It was amazing to see the people who would just flip and turn into wallflowers when the cameras were there.
A: I tried to keep Brittany accountable out when she called Brookeโs date tacky and inappropriate when she went over to the Bach pad in her pyjamas and she was saying these things off camera. Weโre being made to be accountable for the things weโre saying on camera but theyโre not.
C: Look thereโs no point trying to defend it, whatโs done is done and we are sorry for offending them and there are more sides to our personalities and we hope people get a chance to see that.
This week we saw the fourth wall broken down and the producers in there amongst it more than ever, how did you feel about that side of things, did you guys feel the producers would manipulated you for drama?
R: Weโre not really allowed to talk about that.
C: If you donโt say or do things there is a chance that you will go home and we have been told that. Itโs very hands-on in there.
A: That being said I love the crew and producers and I think theyโre very talented โ what they do in these set amount of hours.
C: Theyโre there to do their job and their bloody good at it. We had fun, and obviously, it is a heavily produced show.
R: But still it is shocking to come out and watch, you think theyโre going to cut you a bit of slack or show another facet of your personality. I was like who is this person on the TV โ my friends and family were all like WTF.
C: My friends messaged me and were like I donโt even know who Iโm watching thatโs so not you.
A: Think about somebody like Ash, who wasnโt seen all that much. Think about her experience, she was in there almost as long as us and sheโs had that whole experience in her life and now sheโs watching it back โ and there were lots of things to do with her individually โ yet no one would really realise.
So you feel pressure in there to get the airtime?
R: You sacrifice so much to be there, and the process is huge โ Cat moved countries, Alicia resigned from Bill Shortenโs office.
A: So Iโm clearly going to try and make the most of this experience and if itโs not a connection with Nick then, of course, Iโm still going to try and stick around โ maybe I could go skydiving or something!
So this season and your narrative has brought to the forefront some pretty serious conversations about bullying, gaslighting and mental health. Mental health and reality TV is a real growing problem.
A: To be completely honest, I broke down in tears for three hours last night and had my first full-on anxiety attack in my life. And I mean Iโm fine, and Iโm sitting here with the girls and I know that theyโre all strong and theyโve had their moments as well.
C: When you wake up in the middle of the night and youโve got 100 death threats itโs hard.
R: Itโs scared me off completely, Iโm mortified of doing another reality TV show. I pretty much regret it. Itโs dampened the whole experience, and especially the edit because thereโs just nothing nice about it and thatโs upsetting for me. Iโve been humiliated and I know I did start conversations and I was cheeky but youโd think Iโd killed someone.
C: You do things in there, and you donโt even remember half of it but itโs awful and I regret it, but to the trolls, itโs not ok. Youโve got to remember weโre people as well.
A: If society has decided that we have a fundamental problem with this sort of discourse, in that weโre portraying bullying and then weโre getting bullied, the fact of the matter is that people love drama. All of these shows are the ratings gold, so people need to turn off and stop watching if theyโre not into it or understand that what theyโre seeing is not a documentary.
What support are you ladies getting from the show after all this backlash?
R: None but I need some.
What about the support you ladies receive during the filming?
R: Thereโs a psychologist there at all times. They were actually great.
A: I felt really supported through the process. We all had her number and could call her anytime. And I called her 3 weeks before the show started airing because of how watching it back has put a dampener on the experience, so I rang her because I was nervous that would happen to me because I was so enthusiastic about the whole thing.
R: Itโs just been such an anti-climax. I just donโt remember being like that.
C: All the girls #womensupportingwomen but all the girls who I thought I was close to, havenโt even reached out to me or said a word to me since it aired. Itโs been hard.
A: I feel like there are particular girls that are unfortunately relishing the fact that we are engulfed in this bad girls scandal. And then you have Cat here who has been thrown under the bus because of her business, but thereโs no women supporting women there. There were plenty of girls in there with businesses.
C: I just got completely targeted and I went on it for the challenge and the experience and Iโve come out of it with a whole new friendship group and of course I talk about what I do itโs my life and Iโm proud of it โ of course I wear my own designs.
Has your business been affected by the backlash?
C: Iโm getting a lot of hate, I have people saying they hope I go bankrupt, rating my business 1 out of 5 stars, making up comments about the quality and all this awful stuff.
R: But youโve sold more in the last month than you haveโฆ
C: Yeah sales are good, Iโm trotting along but Iโm on damage control, itโs been intense.
Romy, last night when you decided not to accept the rose, what was your reasoning there?
R: I know it appears that because Cat and Alicia werenโt going to be there, but to be honest Iโm extremely impulsive, I donโt know what happened but my hand wouldnโt move it was the most bizarre thing and then I left and I was having some regrets worrying about my decision. And then that night my dad had a stroke and I had to go and say goodbye to him, he didnโt end up dying but now heโs brain damaged and canโt communicate. Had I not gone home I wouldnโt have had that last conversation with him. It took 24 hours for my decision to make sense but now it does.
Romy, you came out this morning saying you are an actor and were paid.
R: That was a misunderstanding, I just said as my trade Iโm an actor and I got paid on the show โ along with everyone else. But I wasnโt planted on the show by producers.
You then discussed how it organically became role, so just you decided to go with that?
A: Iโm not an actress but I felt like youโre playing a character in there.
R: Itโs the questions youโre being asked, and youโre mic-edโฆ
A: It was fun. But a couple of us knew the first few days we were in there that we werenโt going to develop anything super serious, but that doesnโt mean we werenโt going to give it a red hot go.
R: Today if a girl said to me I donโt kiss on the first date and then came back to me and was โoh I kissed on the first dateโ Iโd be like cool, but in there itโs different, its heightened. Youโre in there and you have nothing else to do, nothing else to think about and itโs kind of Stockholm Syndrome and before you know it youโre completely engulfed in the drama and this character and itโs just bizarre.
A: The premise of The Bachelor is pitting women against women.
R: Itโs not about love, itโs never been about love โ itโs all about the drama. If people donโt like it they donโt have to watch it.
A: Start tuning in from now.
Do you guys know who wins or do you have any guesses?
ALL: We donโt!
C: I thought theyโd tell us but the girls have kept it so quiet. I hope that he picks Brooke, she is the biggest legend, super genuine, down to earth and amazing and she deserves all the love sheโs getting.

Just when the cynic in you is ready to write all celebrity relationships off as fake, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle come along and make you believe all over again.
The royal couple stepped out this week for the WellChild Awards in London and while talking with a 10-year-old girl named Scarlett who was being honoured at the awards for taking care of her sister, Prince Harry was seen affectionately stroking his wifeโs back.
Well while this might not seem a huge thing to some, royal protocol pretty much bans all forms of PDA โ which is why youโll rarely see Wills and Kate holding hands in public.
โShe just seems to be gentle and sincere,โ Sharon Booth, who was at the awards with her young daughter, Matilda, told People of meeting the Duchess. โThey were just like normal people. Prince Harry said to her, โAre those flowers for me?โ โ
And we canโt forget the full-on smooch at the polo back in July.
โThe reason why we are fascinated by them is because they are so likable, and their love is so real,โ body language expert and author Patti Wood, tells Refinery29.
โThey each go to do the exact same touch to each other, and that leads to high marital satisfaction,โ adds Wood. โThatโs an incredibly good sign for them.โ

While we all know The Bachelor is highly-edited, heavily-produced โrealityโ television, itโs still fascinating to get an insight into what really goes on behind the scenes.
This week we were given a reminder of just how manipulated the โrealityโ is when we saw the fourth wall broken down UnReal-style, when contestant Tennille Favios ran off during a cocktail party after an altercation with fellow contestant Romy, and she was unwillingly followed with a microphone and cameras.
Then that was followed by a conversation between the trio whoโve been dubbed this seasonโs โvillainsโ, Cat Henesy, Romy Poulier and Alisha Aitken-Radburn, when they thought the cameras had stopped rolling.
โDo you think I should give him an ultimatum?โ Cat asks the others ahead of the rose ceremony.
โF**k yeah, do it,โ Romy encourages, but advises that she might need a plan B. โAre you gonna cry?โ she asks. โI think it adds to it. He wonโt send you home.โ
No contestants have had more air-time this year, for better or worse, than those three. And as a contestant, what assures you airtime? Drama.
โIf you donโt say or do things there is a chance that you will go home and we have been told that,โ Cat, who was asked to leave by Cummins for creating drama in the house, tells marie claire.
โItโs very hands-on in there,โ she adds of the producers.
While the girls were quick to applaud the producers for being โbloody good at their jobโ, they admit itโs still hard to watch themselves back.
โYou think theyโre going to cut you some slack or at least show another facet of your personality,โ says Romy, who has been dubbed one of the showโs most controversial contestants ever.
When asked if they felt pressure to get airtime, there was a unanimous yes.
You sacrifice so much to be there, and the process is huge,โ says Romy. โCat moved countries, Alisha resigned from Bill Shortenโs officeโฆโ
โSo Iโm clearly going to try and make the most of this experience,โ interjects Alisha. โAnd if itโs not a connection with Nick then, of course, Iโm still going to try and stick around โ maybe I could go skydiving or something!โ
โA couple of us knew the first few days we were in there that we werenโt going to develop anything super serious [with Nick], but that doesnโt mean we werenโt going to give it a red hot go.โ
This season there has also been a lot of chatter about the authenticity of the contestants and whether or not some of them were actually actresses planted solely to cause drama. And while Romy admits to being an actor by trade, she denies being planted on the show by producers.
That said, however, she did admit that being in the house and the pressure-cooker situation makes you take on a role.
โToday, if a girl said to me I donโt kiss on the first date and then came back to me and said, โI kissed on the first dateโ, Iโd be like cool, but in there itโs different, itโs heightened,โ says Romy. โIn there and you have nothing else to do, nothing else to think about, itโs kind of like Stockholm Syndrome, and before you know it youโre completely engulfed in the drama and this character and itโs just bizarre.โ
โItโs not about love, its never been about love,โ adds Alisha. โItโs all about the drama and if people donโt like it they donโt have to watch it.โ
So who is to blame? The producers who manipulate it? The girls who willingly go along with it to get airtime? Or the viewers who watch it and enable it?

New York Fashion Week is well and truly underway with the likes of Gigi Hadid, Kaia Gerber and Joan Smalls strutting their stuff on the runway.
Although there have been runway fashion moments aplenty, our attention was focused on the street style that will be the source of our inspiration for spring outfits.

New York Fashion Week has kicked off and with it a slew of celebrity-filled pre and post parties. While popping into an exclusive event last night, Bella Hadid simultaneously cemented the return of a signature late-โ90s, early-โ00s fashion trend, the tube dress.
Beloved by celebs such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Victoria Beckham in the โ90s and early aughts, the tube dress seems to be the latest in a long list of forgotten trends making a comeback.
Hadidโs stretchy LBD by American brand Area accentuated her long legs and slim waist. The 21-year-old paired the dress with yellow pumps, a micro bag and a high-ponytail.
Bella isnโt the first celebrity to wear a tube dress in recent weeks, either. Fellow model Kendall Jenner sported askintight Bec & Bridge designto sister Kylieโs 21st birthday a few weeks ago and back in July, Kourtney Kardashian donned a red leather tube dress, also by Area.
It looks like the trend extends past just mini dresses, too. Other celebrities, such as Olivia Culpo and Demi Lovato, have been spotted sporting tube tops over the northern hemisphere summer and designers such as Miu Miu and Georgia Alice have released midi-length versions.

Killing Eve has everything you could ever want from an excellent crime drama โ spies, assassins, intrigue and Sandra Oh.
A spy story retold โ Killing Eve follows MI5 operative Eve Polastri (played by the excellent Sandra Oh), a desk jockey whoโs growing increasingly bored with her job as her fantasies of being a spy remain unfulfilled.
That is until Eve connects a string of murders across Europe to Russian assassin Villanelle (played by Jodie Cromer) and is removed from behind her desk to track the dangerous killer. Eve quickly becomes obssessed with the alluring but psychopathic Villanelle and the two begin an epic game of cat and mouse.
The show doesnโt fall into the sleek-spy-pursues-psychopathic-killer trope, as Eve, a passionate but sloppy agent, follows the chillingly relatable assassin Villanelle which leads to a mutual obsession between the two women.
This thrilling crime drama was adapted from Luke Jennings novella Codename Villanelle and has been a critically acclaimed hit in America since its release in April, currently holding an impressive 97% rating on Rotton Tomatoes.
Killing Eve is unique in that itโs turned the spy genre on its head. Adapted for television by Phoebe Mary Waller-Bridge, the story follows characters and stories that would usually be portrayed by men.
Sarah Barnett, president and general manager of BBC America, said of the all-female cast and story; โCat-and-mouse and assassin stories have been told so many times and for good reason: There is an enduring appeal there. What was so fascinating was that making these two leads female casts the genre in a whole new light. You realize how implicitly masculine this form of storytelling has been.โ
Killing Eve is a refreshing, female-led clean-cut drama with performances that will leave the viewer enthralled with every moment of its twisted and dark tale.

Iโll admit when I received an email asking if Iโd like to try a Thermage facial โ I saw facial, said yes and cleared my schedule.
And then I googled Thermage and I had a mini freak out as the first thing that came up was the words non-surgical facelift. The word โfaceliftโ immediately freaked me out and I considered coming up with an excuse not to go.
A little more research however and my intrigue was just so that I kept my appointment. And Iโm so glad I did.
As a sleep-deprived working mum, wrinkle and anti-ageing treatments are definitely on my radar, so speaking with Sylvia Down, Partner/Practice Manager, Skin Renu I picked her brain on what exactly is Thermage, who it is best for and why itโs garnering so much attention.
What is Thermage?
Thermage is a facial and body treatment to tighten and lift the skin by stimulating the formation of collagen.
Collagen takes several months to produce, the Thermage Radio Frequency bulk heating mechanism stimulates new collagen, which gradually forms (over 3-6 months) and over this time the patient can expect to see a fuller, more toned and lifted appearance.
The benefit of Thermage Monopolar Radio Frequency it that the bulk heating targets the collagen-rich layers of the dermis stimulating the production of new collagen but the RF also travels along the fibrous septea causing them to contract and give a contouring effect.
Anyone whoโs skin needs some tightening and for those who are beginning to see the effects of collagen depletion. Most of our patients are over 35.
Where on the face and body can it be done?
The whole face and neck, the abdomen, buttocks, arms, knees, thighs.
What issues is Thermage great for?
Lax and loose skin, thin skin, sagging jawline, crepey skin above the knees.
What results can you expect after the treatment?
While new collagen takes several months to produce, existing collagen does tighten. You will notice some initial tightening, however, the full benefits of the treatment are more obvious after 4-6 months. The skin will appear tighter and smoother.
Is there any downtime after the treatment?
There is no downtime with Thermage. The face will only appear a little flushed for the first hour after treatment.
How long/how many treatments before we see results?
Thermage is a once only stand-alone treatment. However, most of our Thermage patients return yearly or every two years to maintain their results.
Is Thermage safe for pregnant/breastfeeding women?
It is not suitable for pregnant women and as no topical anaesthetic is used it is suitable for breastfeeding women.
So what was my verdict?
The treatment was WAY less painful than I was anticipating, but that said at times it definitely did sting โ certain points on the face and neck hurt more than others due to nerves under the skin, but overall I found it very tolerable.
I walked out of the salon feeling revitalised and fresh, my skin was a little red but not too bad, and it went down quickly. I had planned a quiet night in just in case, but there was no need to hide away afterwards so you could probably get it done on your lunch break or before heading out if needed.
As for the results, in the days following my skin definitely felt glowing and plumped, however the full extent of the results wonโt be visible for 4-6 months โ perfect timing just as the party season hits!
So if youโre thinking about giving Thermage a go my advice would be plan ahead as its a long-game treatment. So if you have a wedding or a big event you want to look fab for just think about your timings and plan it well ahead of time.
Depending on the treatment area, prices for Thermage start from $2,000. Please visit thermage.net.au to find out more.

Kate Middleton has cemented herself as a fashion icon over the years, with her chic and modern style breathing fresh air into the often conservative royal wardrobe.
The Duchess of Cambridge has many memorable fashion moments, from her wedding dress to pretty much her entire maternity wardrobe, but among Kateโs most talked about red carpet looks was that Self Portrait dress.
The stunning ยฃ320 crochet maxi dress sold out almost immediately after Middleton wore it in November 2016.
If you remember racing to the computer to try and nab yourself this stunner, only to be disappointed by seeing it was sold-out, you now have a second chance โ of sorts.
E-tailer Little Mistress has made a look-a-like dress for just a fraction of the cost, and the slightly shorter ยฃ65 version is being sold exclusively through ASOS.
While we wouldnโt usually condone buying rip-offs of designer clothing (and we know Diet Prada will have a field day with this one), if you were desperate to get your hands on the sold-out Self Portrait design, at least now you can shop something very similar.
If you want to dress like a royal on a commonerโs budget, head to ASOS now to pick up this absolute steal.

Emily Ratajkowskihas a secret talent โ sheโs a budding make-upartist. The 27-year-old New Yorker says sheโs been obsessed with creating looks on her friends and family for years but only got โreally goodโ three-years-ago. โWhen I do my girlfriendsโ makeup, I do the same look,โ she revealed, insisting itโs universally flattering.
Emily thengenerouslyapplies a creamy earth-toned blush to her cheeks, blending the product with her fingertips, adding that she likes to pat any excess colour on her nose.
Accentuating her almond-shaped peepers, Em applies a brown eyeshadow to her eyelid โ stopping at the crease โ then she takes a smaller brush to apply the same pigment to the lower lashline. The eyes are finished withGlossier Lash Slick.

Purveyor of quintessential British style Burberry is striding into Fashion Month with a good news story: the luxury fashion house will no longer use real fur or burn millions of dollars worth of unsold goods.
In July, the label caused controversy when news broke that it burnt clothes, accessories and perfume to a value of more than $50 million last year. Destroying unsold items is a common practice among high-end fashion houses โ to prevent pieces being stolen or sold cheaply โ but the environmental implications are staggering.
In 2018, waste (or anti-waste) is a fashion buzzword, with brands under pressure to forge sustainable and ethical practices.
Meanwhile, a host of up-and-coming fake fur labels beloved by the sartorial set suggest faux is the way to go (think Shrimps, Unreal Fur) โ though some say its eco impact may be just as serious. Riccardo Tisciโs debut collection for Burberry later this month, says the brand, will be a (real) fur-free zone.

Celebrity weddings are nearly always grandiose affairs, but Italian fashion blogger Chiara Ferragniโs wedding has just blown everyone elseโs out of the water.
In what was instantly dubbed the most extravagant wedding of 2018, Chiara wed her longtime love, Italian singer Fedez Leonardo Lucia in Sicily last weekend.
The wedding bill is enough to make us feel a little light-headed, with the whole affair featuring two incredible wedding gowns, special fireworks, an amusement park, a secluded 19th-century palazzo in Noto and return flights for guests.
Ferragni chose to wear not one, but two Dior haute couture wedding gowns which are estimated to cost around ยฃ231,000 (thatโs nearly $420,000).
(Credit: David Bastianoni)
The stunning wedding location, the Dimora Delle Balze, is believed to have cost the couple another ยฃ231,000.
On top of the already idyllic location, the reception, a bespoke amusement park decked out with a ferris wheel, a carousel ride and event fireworks, was a whopping ยฃ81,000 (around $145,000).
The newlyweds made sure no stone was left unturned, and no guest was made to feel uncomfortable, shelling out return flights for approximately 150 people on a private Alitalia aeroplane for a round trip from Milan to Catania. Making sure your guests travel comfortably and in style costs quite a bit of cash โ ยฃ154,000 (approximately $27,000) to be specific.
Of course, no wedding is complete without a killer flower arrangement, and for a wedding such as Ferragniโs? The price tag has been an estimated ยฃ3,000 (or $5000).
This brings the grand total to ยฃ704,000. Thatโs comfortably over one million dollars Australian.

The latest trend getting a major reboot is yet another one which comes direct from the decade that gave us bike pants, scrunchies, neon, tube socks and overalls: the 1990s.
And like all the other trends coming back out of the wardrobe from this decade, this trend requires serious style stamina. Itโs not for the faint-hearted, but it can be done in a chic-yet-ironic way as evidenced by all the models, influencers, celebrities and street style stars who have been rocking it hard on the โGram in recent posts and also over on social mediaโs ultimate mood board, Pinterest.
Weโre talking about the logo trend of course, the trend that says itโs fine, great even, to be decked out in head-to-toe branding.
According to thePinterest 100 Report, the site has seen an increase of 203 per cent in saves for โlogosโ globally since last year, confirming what we already knew: logomania is back.
However, this time around itโs not just about head-to-toe logo looks, 2018โs logomania trend offers options for the beginner like a logoed accessory in the form of a statement bag or belt.
Scroll down for the street style to take your cues from.

Two days ago Twitter queen Chrissy Teigen made her first appearance on the red carpet since giving birth to her son, Miles, in May.
The mother of two was accompanied by her Grammy-winning husband John Legend while attending the British GQ Men of the Year Awards, following their very long family vacation in Bali.
The familyโs connection to Bali and the focus on quality family time make sense after Teigenโs most recent, and very brave, interview with Womenโs Health magazine.
The mother of two spoke openly about her postpartum depression following the birth of her daughter Luna, (now two) and the struggle to write a follow-up cookbook to Teigenโs massively popular debut cookbook Cravings.
The 32-year-old opened up about a time in her life where she was โdrinking too muchโ and โnot being goodโ to her body.
Teigen told Womenโs Health, โAfter Luna, I was drinking too much. I wasnโt eating as much because I was full from drinking. I wasnโt being good to my body. I remember being so bruised from nothing.โ
The process of writing her follow-up cookbook Cravings: Hungry For More (out September 18) was described by Teigen as โtorturousโ as she continued spiralled downwards, drinking heavily and not taking care of herself.
The straight-talking model explained how her decision to start anti-depressants and escape to a wellness retreat in Bali, encouraged a different outlook on life.
โItโs like, what could be more important than mental health? Whatโs more important than being proud of yourself and doing the best you can for your body?โ
The model, mother, activist, author, and sworn enemy of Donald Trump, has proven once again why we will always love her.

Meghan Markle stepped out overnight to attend the 100 Days Of Peace concert marking the centenary of the end of World War I alongside husband Prince Harry and the royal set tongues wagging with a glamorous new look.
The concert was held to raise awareness for military veterans suffering mental health issues with all proceeds going to mental health charities, a passion close to the Princeโs heart.
The couple mingled with guests ahead of the show and during the break they met with a number of the showโs performers as well as members of the charities and sponsors from the event.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex couple dressed in blue, with Harry looking handsome in a dark navy suit, while Meghan opted for a brighter shade of cobalt that we havenโt seen on her before.
Meghan styled her sleeveless Jason Wu dress, which featured ruffle detailing down the front, with embellished blue satin Aquazerra stilettos and a Dior clutch.
The Duchess however mixed up her beauty look for the event, opting for Old-Hollywood side-swept waves.
After the Duchessโ appearance fans have started to speculate over whether or not the Duchess might, in fact, be pregnant, with the detailing of the dress appearing to add to her naturally petite frame.
No news from Kensington Palace but we do know that Kate Middelton was a fan of the old โchange up your hairstyleโ trick to throw them off the scent so just sayingโฆ

Australiaโs first female Foreign Minister and Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party for five years until the recent leadership spill, the Hon. Julie Bishop MP, believes more women need to be heard.
Entering public office is one of the highest callings: an opportunity to contribute to the betterment of your community and nation. While the public scrutiny can be intense, it is a rewarding and satisfying vocation in the service of other people.
During my time in politics, I have witnessed steady change in attitudes towards women in parliament and in leadership positions across Australia. My personal milestone was to be appointed as Australiaโs first female Minister for Foreign Affairs.
There is a growing recognition that gender balance is important in any organisation, to ensure all perspectives are taken into account during the decision-making process.
Under Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbullโs leadership, six women were appointed to Federal Cabinet in 2015 โ the equal highest number of women since Federation. The current Cabinet includes five female ministers. These women are high-profile role models to others wanting to pursue a career in male-dominated sectors or to have a rewarding career and a family at the same time.
As these remarkable women break down barriers in their respective fields, they pave the way for more to follow. While significant progress has been made, women remain under-represented at decision-making levels in most sectors, including within our State and Federal parliaments here and abroad.
Throughout my professional career, I have held a strong belief that women should empower other women, whether through formal or informal mentoring, or simply by supporting each other as colleagues in the workplace. As the Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party, I feel the responsibility to support and mentor women who are interested in entering public office.
Women must be represented appropriately at all levels throughout society, business and government, to ensure the interests and perspectives of 50 per cent of all communities are heard.

After Sarah Hanson-Young was told by a fellow senator to โstop shagging menโ, she filed a defamation suit against him. Here, she talks about the importance of speaking upโฆ
When I came into parliament at the age of 25, as the youngest woman ever to be elected, I was naive about how damaging and hurtful sexist comments can be. I didnโt call it out at the beginning and in the 10 years Iโve been in parliament, itโs only gotten worse. I have seen the tone of political debate fall lower and lower.
When Iโm in the chamber, I will often hear commentary about what I look like. Some members of parliament always make snarky remarks about the dresses I wear. Thereโs one male colleague who will shout out at me when Iโm debating a serious issue, saying, โWhy donโt you just smile at me, Sarah?โ Then thereโs the nasty, underhanded sexual innuendo. Iโve had menโs names yelled at me while Iโve been on my feet in the chamber, with the insinuation that Iโm apparently sleeping with them. Itโs all designed to throw me off my game, break down my confidence and shut me up. Itโs used as a weapon to make me think twice about getting to my feet again.
In the past, when a comment was made I tried not to react โ to pretend like I didnโt hear it. The downside of ignoring it is that [the behaviour] continues. When Senator [David] Leyonhjelm shouted across the chamber that I should โstop shagging menโ, I felt like I had a responsibility to call him out. Subconsciously or consciously, I think I was really encouraged by the #MeToo movement to break my silence. As a leader in our community and a woman in a privileged position, I felt like I needed to set an example to other women. And, as a mother, I needed to set an example to my daughter [Kora, 11].
Bullying and intimidation towards women in politics happens, itโs getting worse and it needs to stop. It is so important that it is being called out & named. Women & men in our community deserve our parliament to be a place where women are welcomed & respected
โ ๐๐ Sarah Hanson-Young (@sarahinthesen8) August 29, 2018
Iโm a strong woman โ I give as good as I getin the rough and tumble of political debate โ but thisis the hardest thing Iโve ever done. Calling this out asslut shaming has forced me to confront the issue andtalk about it publicly. Itโs also opened me up to theattempted shame of the comments. Having myapparent sex life discussed in public has been asurreal experience. And Senator Leyonhjelm hascontinued his bullying: he has tried to shame me,silence me more and punish me for speaking out.
Despite all of that, the response has beenincredibly heartening. Iโve been contacted by anumber of other women in the parliament who havetold me their stories of similar experiences. Iโve hadencouragement from other female politicians, suchas Kristina Keneally, and messages of support frommale colleagues. One of the thousands of messagesIโve received from the public was from a woman inher 80s, who said she had waited her whole life to seethis happen. Sheโd watched womenโs participation inthe workforce grow but the issue of sexism not stop.I feel quite encouraged by the outpouring of support.
My daughter, Kora, has been my rock throughthis whole process.Iโve always taughther not to let thebullies win, so Iwasnโt going to sitback and let thisreprehensiblebehaviour stopme from doing myjob. I want her tonever be afraid ofstanding up forwhat she believes in. I want all women to feelempowered in their opinions and to not have tosuffer in silence. If we are to have this culturalshift, we need more strong female role models inleadership and more young women in politics.Women deserve to have a voice, and we are not goingto be slut shamed for daring to use it in politicaldebate. We have every right to be there and we willsay what needs to be said.

Itโs that time again: Celebrities, models and influencers are currently touching down in the Big Apple for New York Fashion Weekโs spring/summer 2019 season, Australian entrepreneur and fashion blogger Elle Ferguson among them.
With designers such as Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors and Zimmermann debuting their new collections, the front row is sure to be filled with famous faces and, of course, the street style will be dictating everything we wear this summer.
Below, the co-founder of โThey All Hate Usโ and founder of fake tan brand, ELLE EFFECT, fills us in on the trends sheโs currently loving, the items she couldnโt do NYFW without and the shows sheโs most excited to see.
What fashion week/s are you heading to this season?
This year, Iโm all about NYFW, which Iโm attending with TRESemme. Then back to LA for a super exciting projectโฆ No Paris this year.
What shows are you most excited for?
Zimmermann, I cannot wait for their show. And then, of course, Rodarte.
How would you describe your personal style?
Currently, its 12:15am and Iโm packing my suitcases, so Iโm in good old activewear (which Iโve had on since pilates this morning). But in everyday life, my style is eclecticโฆ it changes all the time.
Who do you look to for style inspiration in the lead up to fashion week?
This season, I have been addicted to all the colour from Copenhagen fashion week, the girls and outfits have been next level. I literally have hundreds of screenshots. I also love Instagram and just finding random amazingly dressed women that I get inspiration from.
How do you decide what to wear for fashion week?
Well, I could not have done this fashion week without my sister, Babyanything. She has been on so many shopping trips with me in my pre-planning stages and always believes in me when I say something crazy when putting together an outfit. She also is extremely honest, which is amazing when you are prepping for fashion week. You need outfits that look good from all angles. Plus a coat ofELLEEFFECT, for the ultimate golden glow.
During fashion week, what item wouldnโt you leave home without?

Although Bachelor In Paradiseโs Jarrod Woodgate and Keira Maguire appeared picture-perfect in front of cameras, Jarrod reveals his relationship with the 32-year-old was under strain because of Keiraโs obsession with Instagram.
Jarrod, 32, ended things three weeks ago after nearly nine months of dating, explaining his ex-girlfriendโs love of social media was the reason for their split.
โHer Instagram following is overwhelming and it was taking over our relationship. Sheโs purely Instagram-focused, and that takes up a lot of time.โ
He added that when he and Keira, 32, would get together, he was not a priority.
โIโd spend two days a week with her and it [was] basically all Instagram-based. Itโs hard because youโre competing with 177,000 other people that follow her, but I shouldnโt have to compete,โ he explained.
Keira last week revealed to WHO she makes more money than Jarrod.
โShe would earn over $1,500 for every Instagram post so itโs no wonder she earnt more than me, Iโm on a really low family salary,โ Jarrod says.
โWhen youโre living in my family home and not paying any rent or bills, money shouldnโt be an issue. But when it came to spending money, she would blow it on so much.โ

Last night saw the moment we had all been waiting for on this season of The Bachelor, when contestants Cat and Romy โ dubbed this seasonโs โvillainsโ โ finally put in their place, leaving the show alongside their side-kick Alicia and intruder Brittany.
The episode started with another awkward group date with the girls getting overly aggressive in a pool in terrible swimsuits (anyone else feel uncomfortable with some of those camera angles?) before the drama started when Brooke received another single date โ much to the disdain of Cat, who was yet to have any one-on-one time with the Honey Badger.
But it was really all about the cocktail party โ or toga party rather โ where Nick decided to confront Tenielle about who was being mean in house. Nick then took it upon himself to ask serial trouble-maker Cat to leave the mansion โ while for some reason deciding to keep Romy in.
He then went on to offer Romy the final rose (whaaat?) before she decided to high-tail it out of there too.
cat: iโm upset i didnโt get the single because I HAVE A BUSINESS and iโm trying to make a connection with nick also I HAVE A BUSINESS thatโs so unfair because I HAVE A BUSINESS #TheBachelorAU
SURELY this cements Nick as the best Bachelor. Heโs kicking them out specially because they are MEAN. Not some BS rose ceremony. Actually because theyโre HORRIBLE. #TheBachelorAU

Wednesday nightโs episode of The Bachelor was hard to watch for reasons other than weโre used to. Instead of sitting through an awkward first date or a wow-the-camera-is-far-too-zoomed-in kiss, we saw three grown women bully and belittle another contestant, resulting in her standing outside in the cold sobbing.
Furthermore, rather than putting the young womanโs mental health first, producers chased Tenille down with a microphone and camera just to ensure they were getting her breakdown on film โ at one point, a producer even asked, โHow do you feel about Nick?โ
Romy Poulier, Cat Hennessey and Alisha Radburn were singled out as the โvillainsโ of the series early on, but watching episode seven, it was evident that their behaviour is far more serious than a few snide comments here and there for added drama.
Many viewers pointed out that Romy was โgaslightingโ while talking to Tenille, a form of psychological manipulation which makes the targeted individual doubt themselves and causes the victim to question their own feelings, instincts and sanity.
This isnโt the first time the term has been used on this season of the show, either. A few weeks ago when contestant Shannon Baff tried to stand up to Romy, Romy turned things around, accusing Shannon of attacking her.
But what does gaslighting mean and how serious can it be?
Seriously disgusting behaviour on #TheBachelorAU this season.. itโs genuinely difficult to watch outright bullying and gaslighting..
โGaslighting is a tactic which people use (either consciously or unconsciously) to gain power or control over a person,โ Lysn psychologist Breanna Jayne Sada explains, saying the term was coined from the 1944 movie Gaslight, where a man tries to convince his wife that she is โinsaneโ by making her question her reality.
โGaslighting is often done slowly, often to the point where the victim doesnโt realise that is what has been happening. It can make a victim doubt his or her own thoughts and memories,โ Sada says.
We need to have a conversation about the realities of gaslighting, methods of control and the larger truths of emotional abuse. #TheBachelorAu
Though many associate gaslighting with a romantic relationship, as we saw on The Bachelor, it extends further than intimate relationships and close friendships.
โIt can happen at work, with friends, relatives and as weโve seen last night, on reality TV,โ Sada says, noting that a lot of people make relationships about power โ and thatโs where gaslighting comes in.
Why would someone gaslight someone else?
โThis technique is used by people to gain further power and control over someone or a group of people,โ Sada explains. โIt comes back to control and manipulation, with people often using it to make others depend on them.โ
โSometimes perpetrators learn this behaviour throughout their childhood, perhaps their parents practised this kind of behaviour or theyโve slowly learnt tactics through their own behaviour and seeing the outcome it can have. Gaslighting is also common among people who have personality traits like narcissism and examples exist among dictators and cult leaders.โ
What should people look out for?
โThere are several techniques to look out for, however, one of the biggest signs is when the perpetrator tells deliberate lies, often denying things theyโve said,โ Sada says. โThis can make the victim question everything in their own reality because the perpetrator is so adamant that theyโre telling the truth.โ
What effect can gaslighting have on the victim?
Gaslighting is a form of psychological abuse and can have a big impact on a personโs mental health. โThe constant self-doubt, confusion and questioning of self-worth can lead to things like anxiety and depression,โ Sada says.
โIt can also cause future trust issues and problems in relationships when the victim is hesitant to make themselves vulnerable. Gaslighting also beats down a personโs self-esteem which can lead to the victim becoming co-dependent on others or the perpetrator themselves.โ
As far as The Bachelorgoes, Sada points out the one positive takeaway: the opportunity to open up the lines of communication surrounding bullying and gaslighting. However, she notes the situation could have been handled in a different way. โIt certainly would have been triggering for some people and there could have [been pre-warnings] about the potential of it causing distress.โ

The relationship between the first-in-line to the throne, Prince Charles, and his two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, has always held a fascination for the public. Are they close? How close? Did they watch Suits together prior to meeting Prince Harryโs now wife Meghan Markle?
No one really knows the answers to these questions except the three people in question. But that doesnโt stop the endless speculation, which intensified when Prince Harry and Prince Williamโs beloved mum, and Prince Charleโs ex-wife, Princess Diana tragically died in a car crash in August 1997.
However, recently that speculation went to the next level with a British tabloid,The Daily Beast, running an in-depth feature over the weekend titled โInside the Cold War Between Prince Charles and William and Harry.โ The feature quoted anonymous sources saying, โThey [Prince Charles, Prince Harry and Prince William] are very different people and they just donโt get on. Itโs as simple as that. They rarely see each other outside of official business.โ
Usually when the press or the public speculates about the royal family, the Palace keeps quiet with no engagement and no response. But not this time. In an unprecedented step theExpressreports, โClarence House has issued a furious denial to claims Prince Charles does not get on with his sons, Prince William and Harry.โ
Per theExpress, when asked if they claims in the article were true, Clarence House told them the claims were โcomplete fictionโ.
Which makes sense, the boys and their father look to have a very strong bond if past behaviour is anything to go on. As recently as Prince Harryโs wedding toMeghan Marklein May, Markle had Prince Charles walk her partway down the aisle, a sure sign of a tight-knit family.

Calling all true crime podcast fans, youโre going to flip over the latest offerings from two of the best-in-class from this gripping genre: Dirty John and Serial.
Dirty Johnโsproducers, Wondery, have released a follow-up to the cult 2017 hit, called Dr. Death andSerialhas released a trailer for the forthcoming third season of the award-winning Sarah Koenig-hosted show.
First up, hereโs what we know about theDirty Johnfollow-up,Dr. Death. The first two episodes of the podcast are available to download right now (itโs fine, weโll wait) and from the synopsis it sounds like we can expect big things.
All physicians are taught, โFirst do no harm.โ But what happens when a doctor actually does harm his patients? Who will our healthcare system protect? @DrDeathWondery is out now with two new episodes. Listen now at https://t.co/8WPSl3zXbOpic.twitter.com/efaSuM83N5
Similar to the subject matter ofDirty John, which told the story of charming, manipulative con man John Meehan and his relationship with wealthy Southern Californian divorcรฉe, Debra Newell,Dr. Deathfollows another charismatic-but-ultimately-deadly man, Dr Christopher Duntsch.
Dr Duntsch or Dr Death as he has been gruesomely nicknamed, is an American neurosurgeon who was sentenced to life in prison on February 20, 2017 for gross malpractice after the death and severe maiming of several of his patients while he was working in two hospitals in Texas. TheDr. Deathpodcast is hosted by journalist Laura Beil and looks into how this tragic situation could have happened in not one but two hospitals.
This season, weโre tackling the whole criminal justice system. Hear the trailer and subscribe today to get the first episode the moment it drops. https://t.co/TscuRSdBuOpic.twitter.com/YdyDeggnaK
As forSerial, as loyal fans will know, the two seasons so far have told one story each season, the first about the murder of high school girl Hae Min Lee and her boyfriend, Adnan Syed, who was convicted of the crime; the second season narrated the tale of American Army soldier, Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl, who was held captive by the Taliban and then charged with desertion upon his release.
For the third season rather than focus on one personโs story,Serialgoes inside the American criminal justice system with stories collected from a year โinside the criminal justice courts in Cleveland, Ohio,โ Koenig says in the trailer.
The first episode ofSerialseason three will be released on Thursday September 20, with a new episode each Thursday after that.

Start this birthday season by doing what you love, Virgo. Enjoy those long lunches, indulge in shopping sprees and invest in pampering days at the spa. With the Sun in your own sign again โ youโre back at your best. A bargain, new business or financial opportunity should soon present itself. But wait until 22nd before you sign any contracts or accept and deals. This year also stirs a hunger for passion โ with a definite upswing in sensuality. Better still, you discover that youโre warmly loved, with any new romance looking to be long term. And should the planets encourage commitment, why question it?
Aries (March 21 โ April 20)
Best Day: Sunday 9th
No one has a completely drama free existence โ we all make mistakes. Consider, though, that errors of judgement are simply learning tools towards self awareness, wisdom and compassion. So donโt be swamped by remorse or disappointment. Discard whatโs no longer needed in your life. Forgive others, and yourself.
Taurus (April 21 โ May 20)
Best Day: Tuesday 11th
Youโre attracted to the new and unusual, and that encourages a saunter off the beaten track. If well prepared, you could soon be treading more lucrative paths. But thereโs still a risk element involved. If plans are delayed by a lack of capital, donโt let this ruin a potentially fun week. Although money helps, the best things in life are still free.
Gemini (May 21 โ June 21)
Best Day: Thursday 13th
Like it or not, sometimes the best things happen when theyโre least expected. Sure, there may be issues to deal with, but youโre likely to find that each one is relatively minor. Be patient, too, in matters of the heart; thereโs no hurry for a decision. A change of living arrangements could also eitherfrustrate,or delight you.
Cancer (June 22 โ July 22)
Best Day: Wednesday 12th
This week tests your sense of stability. Financial uncertainty features, so avoid get-rich-quick schemes. The same goes for former lovers who try to stray back within reach. It might be wise to remember why you broke up in the first place. If youโre trying to lose weight, boredom is your worst enemy โ so avoid snack attacks by keeping on the go.
Leo (July 23 โ August 23)
Best Day: Sunday 9th
This week has an important feel about it, where most Leos get to move in a new direction. Others may want to intrude on your plans, but you know whatโs no longer working for you โ so donโt ignore this chance to discard heavy burdens or emotions. By lightening the load, life becomes easier. Love wins a generous time slot too.
Virgo (August 24 โ September 22)
Best Day: Monday 10th
They say everything passes, but better times canโt happen soon enough. You could do with some light relief. In the meantime, if others are still out to undermine you, the planets provide cosmic carte blanche to regain control. This time, you get the upper hand. Life becomes all aboutindependence, and reclaiming your own strength.
Libra (September 23 โ October 23)
Best Day: Tuesday 11th
Youโre not done yet, Libra Sure, you could be questioning if itโs all worth it โ or whether you should abandon a fruitless quest. Rather than panic, you should sit down and calmly work out whatโs going on. All you need is a newperspective, and plenty of fresh air. Step out in the elements โ a few days break should do it.
Scorpio (October 24 โ November 22)
Best Day: Wednesday 12th
Endlessconflict has chipped away at the Scorpio spirit. You could save yourself more problems by taking a few daysbreak, preferably ineasy-goingcompany. The other trick is to become invisible. Right now, a good portion of humanity is feeling tetchy, with some intangible elements brewing up a tiff. Tread softly.
Sagittarius (November 23 โ December 21)
Best Day: Friday 7th
Time for some lateral thought, Sagittarius. Instead of hurriedly grappling for difficult or, perhaps, unattainable aims โ stop rushing and take the time to look at things from a different viewpoint. Thereโs still much to learn, and living by a new set of rules could be just what you need.
Capricorn (December 22 โ January 20)
Best Day: Monday 10th
Sometimes we have to live through situations that we donโt understand, but if we wait long enough, a reason for that experience usually reveals itself. This is especially important to remember at times when we feel directionless or unsure of what to do. Life is full of buried treasures. Chances are, youโre sitting on some hidden gems this week.
Aquarius (January 21 โ February 18)
Best Day: Sunday 9th
Someoneโs very hot under the collar, and is righteously laying down the law or simply making a nuisance of themselves. You may find this individual either at home or at work. So, should you confront, or ignore this thoughtless bully? Best to just step away. Expect financial changes, so donโt become too dependent on anotherโs money or resources.
Pisces (February 19 โ March 20)
Best Day: Saturday 8th
This week finds many Pisceans retreating into privacy. A secret love affair may begin, or perhaps entanglements from the past influence the present. You may feel nervous, wondering whether youโve done the right thing in a tricky situation. What you really need is peace and quiet, so use whatever excuse you need to reject intrusive invitations.

While putting charcoal on your face might sound very unglamorous, itโs fast becoming one of the most trendy skincare ingredients out there. Why? Charcoal contains natural properties that act like a magnet, drawing impurities such as make-up and dirt out from the skinโs surface.
Incorporating a charcoal-based product into your daily regimen can balance oil production and increase skinโs radiance over time. Since it doesnโt contain any nasty chemicals, this wonder ingredient can be used on sensitive complexions while still being effective enough to tackle adult acne.
The benefits extend beyond your complexion โ charcoal can be used all over your body and worked into your hair care regimen to balance an oily scalp. Here, weโve rounded up three of our favourite charcoal-containing beauty products to try right now.

There are few women more stylish than Sydney sisters Alexandra and Genevieve Smart. The flame-headed fashion designers behind Ginger & Smart have cultivated a reputation for sophisticated, high-quality garments that set their wearer apart โ perhaps care of a gleaming metallic thread woven through a structured skirt, or a silk shirt emblazoned with a hand-painted print thatโs rich with hidden symbolism.
With 16 years of Ginger & Smart under their (leather and knotted at the waist) belts, the sisters sat down with style influencer Jasmin Howell to reveal their new Spring/Summer collection for the FIAT 500 Fashion Files (watch their video interview above).
โThis collection is really about the importance of connection, to each other, to ourselves, and to nature,โ Genevieve explains of Parallel, which just dropped in stores. โWe were also inspired by the parallels between art and science โ it was a great path for us to explore through print, colour and texture.โ
Take the subtly metallic Cause and Effect dress, worn by Jasmin in the above video, which blends rose gold with lilac for the ultimate party frock. โThe new collection features luminous colours that are very unique โ for us, to be chic is to be unique,โ says Genevieve. โThose transformative moments when someone feels like they really come alive in a piece, thatโs what weโre all about.โ
Fashion is intensely personal for Alexandra and Genevieve, who find inspiration in their customer rather than passing trends. โOur muse is a woman of contrasts, she can be so many things in one day โ a businesswoman, a mother, a daughter, a lover, a creative,โ explains Alexandra. โWe design for all those different hats we wear โ and swap seamlessly โ as women.โ
They pay homage to their muse by paying meticulous attention to the construction and quality of their fabrics, as well as beautiful details treasured by the wearer. Every flower in a Ginger & Smart floral print, for instance, has been hand-picked for its meaning. โOur Harmony print represents love and loyalty so we picked flowers like forget-me-nots and anemones for their symbolism,โ reveals Alexandra.
Rather than slavishly following trends, the sisters believe the key to effortless style lies in a tightly edited wardrobe of timeless staples. โReally neutral classics allow you to update your wardrobe every season with a beautiful print, colour or texture,โ says Genevieve. โItโs more fun to update if you know you have a solid base.โ
As for the colour of the moment? For Alexandra and Genevieve, the new black is olive green. โWeโre loving olive green for eveningwear at the moment,โ says Genevieve, a long-sleeve lace dress in the moody hue draped over her arm. โItโs modern and chic.โ

Tomorrow marks the start of New York fashion week and a month of shows that continue to span London, Milan and Paris, but last night Tommy Hilfiger kicked catwalk season off early with a sports-inspired Shanghai show.
Set against the Chinese cityโs sparkling skyline, the autumn/winter presentation was opened by newly-engaged model Hailey Baldwin, who showed off her absโand a glint of her diamond ringโin a bold red crop top and matching pants.
The buzzy show followed the see now, buy now format the label has adhered to for the past two years, with all runway looks made immediately available to shop in more than 70 countries.
This season also marked the debut of Tommy Icons, a capsule collection of pieces inspired by archival Tommy Hilfiger designs (check out the fierce metallic gold puffer jacket below!), and a menswear collaboration with British Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton. Keep scrolling for all the highlights.

When the topic of tried and true beauty products is raised in the office, thereโs one product that the entire team can agree on. Thatโs why it comes as no surprise that this office beauty hero is also the best-selling face product on Sephoraโs Australian and US sites. Described as the Goldilocks of make-up products, this affordable CC cream is not too thick or too sheer; too matte or too shiny.
Developed by plastic surgeons, It Cosmetics CC Cream ($61; sephora.com.au) is designed to look like โyour skin but better.โ
The benefits donโt stop there โ this CC cream also protects the skin against UVA and UVB sun damage. Plus, itโs packed with anti-ageing ingredients that have been clinically proven to improve skinโs texture and brightness.
If youโre still not sold then donโt take our word for it: It Cosmeticsโ CC cream has 130,000 loves from Sephoraโs โbeauty insidersโ and and over 2000 reviews โ 75 per cent of which are four and five stars. Thereโs only one catch: itโs practically always sold out at Sephora, so run donโt walk!

Every day 282 Australian women report pregnancy loss before 20 weeksโ gestation. Half of pregnant women over 40 will lose their baby. One in five confirmed pregnancies end in miscarriage.
Perhaps in light of such statistics, New Zealandโs parliament is considering introducing bereavement leave to grieving mums-to-be. Such legislation would acknowledge the devastating impact of pregnancy loss and stillbirth.
Labour MP Ginny Andersen sponsored the bill, noting that miscarriage is still a โtabooโ topic in New Zealand. โA lot of women have had more than one miscarriage and it can be very traumatic and difficult if you are trying to hold down a job,โ she said.
The proposed legislation would grant three daysโ paid leave to women who have lost a baby at any stage in a confirmed pregnancy โ along with their partners โ and has already amassed nearly 6000 signatures in its favour.
Perhaps the movement will incite calls for similar and timely changes in Australia. According to Fair Work Australia, pregnant employees are entitled to โspecial maternity leaveโ if they miscarry after 12 weeks, but it is unpaid.

It was possibly the most awkward date in Bachelor history: when Rhiannon asked Nick Cummins โ multiple times โ if he โwanted a kiss?โ, before turning around to ask the film crew if the date was done yet. Cue the entire nation (or at least, those among us glued to The Bachelor every night) cringing simultaneously.
It came as no surprise to anyone โ least of all Rhiannon โ when she was unceremoniously booted from the show during last nightโs rose ceremony, ahead of the three new intruders. Below, we quiz the eliminated Bachelor contestant on what really happened on that single date, how sweet the Honey Badger really is and the truth about show villains Romy and Cat.
Were you surprised to be sent home so soon?
In the moment, absolutely not. Nick and I had a chat at the cocktail party that night which you donโt see, and I was just like this is not natural for me, I wasnโt getting a good vibe. I knew in my heart that I was going soon.
Were you disappointed?
Only that I didnโt get a chance to redeem myself after that date, but that was the only thing. Being in that house for six weeks, with no phone or internet or anything from the outside world, was mentally draining.
Was the end of your single date as awkward as it looked?
It was bad for me to watch. I was like, โnooooโ! All the bad bits merged into one. But at the time, of course it was awkward when he hesitated, but it blew over really quickly and we were laughing and the date actually ended on a good note.
Do you feel like the producers manipulated the situation and edited you badly?
I think every situation that you see is heightened; obviously they werenโt going to show the whole date, we sat on the couch for an hour talking about all these cool things, but all you got was the awkwardness.
I definitely knew by the end that he could be a mate of mine, but there wasnโt that chemistry. But heโs a really nice guy and heโs got a good heart.
What was the general consensus on Nick in the house?
Some of the girls were keener than others, and everyone thought he was a really nice guy, but he was just so overwhelmed. I donโt think heโd ever even watched the show before and you could just feel that he was overwhelmed the whole time.
For Vanessa, probably. They didnโt get along. There were a handful of girls that Romy and Cat just didnโt get along with and they were vocal about it, but they were always so nice to me. They were actually really lovely, always lifting me up if I felt down. Everyone looks out for each other in there and you just donโt see that on TV.
So thereโs another side to Romy and Cat that we donโt get to see?
Absolutely โ Cat was giving jewellery to all the girls, to anyone who wanted to wear it on dates, and sheโd help style everyoneโs outfits. Yes, theyโve said some pretty bad things, but theyโre not bad to the soul. Theyโve just been very vocal.
Who were you closest to in the house?
The three of those girls actually; I still speak to them as well as Brooke, Dasha, I was pretty much friends with everyone.
Who do you think will win?
Brittany. I love Brooke but living in the house, we saw Brittany as the frontrunner from the start. When you saw Brittany and Nick talking and laughing, they had the same dad joke humour, they both love travel, they have a lot of things in common. But Iโd be happy if anyone won โ every girl in there has a story and is deserving of finding love.

Following the leadership spill and her resignation from her role long-serving role as Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister,Julie Bishop has broken her silence, slamming the lack of female representation in Australian politics and condemning the actions that led to Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbullโs oust.
Bishop, who was the first Australian woman in the portfolio, opened up at the Australian Womenโs Weekly Women of the Future awards last night, saying, โIt is not acceptable for us to have in 2018 to have less than 25 per cent of our parliamentarians as female.โ
โIt is not acceptable for our party to contribute to a fall in Australiaโs ratings from 15th in the world in terms of female parliamentary representatives in 1999, to 50th today,โ Bishop continues, per the Australian Financial Review.
โI have seen and witnessed some appalling behaviour, that in a law firm I would never have accepted but in Parliament, itโs the norm,โ Bishop says, calling for a โmuch broader debate about workplace cultureโ including โallegations of bullying, harassment and coercion and the unequal treatment of women.โ
โWe must defend and strengthen our institutions, and we must treat ourParliamentwith more respect. Unacceptable workplace practices are the responsibility of us all to identify, to stop it, to fix it.โ
Bishop has been hailed as a trailblazer and role model for women around the world. Marie Claire readers expressed their disappointment in the result of the lib spill on Instagram with one person writing: โHer elegance and formidable presence and style as Foreign Minister will be so greatly missed. Thank you for all you did in your role for Australia and the women who admired you @juliebishopmp.โ
โOnly admiration, respect and gratitude for this incredibly intelligent, poised and accomplished woman in Australian politics. I hope we havenโt lost you forever @juliebishopmp,โ another commented.

Crazy Rich Asiansis aground-breaking moment for Asian representationin Western film, with the first all-Asian cast in Hollywood in 25 years โ an industry where Asian actors constitute1%of lead roles.
After watching the film, I did feel something had changed. Something felt different about what was possible in mainstream Western film. I felt the film spoke to me as an Asian person, and this is a feeling I very rarely feel from Hollywood. The film has an engaging story line. I was invested in the characters and appreciated their personal struggles with Asian cultural values. I cried.
I also liked that an Asian man was in the leading romantic role and that he was represented as sexy and desirable. So often Asian men are feminised and made to lack sexual desirability. I think it was significant that the Asian women in the film desired Asian men too. People have already been talking about how the film heralds achangein how we view Asian men.
However, the film does have its critics. The most convincing of these are perhaps those that highlight how the film is good for Asian-American representational politics but not great for Singaporean or broadly Asian politics.
The film is about Rachel, an Asian-American professor of economics at NYU, visiting the family of her boyfriend, Nick Young (Henry Golding), in Singapore. The biggest challenge for Rachel is convincing Nickโs mother, Eleanor Sung-Young (Michelle Yeoh), that she is worthy of her son. Eleanor tells Rachel out-right she will never be good enough, not only because of her lack of wealth, but also because sheโs American and is likely to pursue her personal passions rather than put family first.
The film centres on the lives of extremely wealthy Chinese-Singaporeans. AsKirsten Han has pointed out, the film erases the problems of poverty in Singapore, and also ignores the racial hierarchy within that country. โChinese Singaporeans โ especially the superrich ones โ are the โwhite peopleโ here,โ she writes.
One of the most glaring examples of this hierarchy at play in the film is its only significant representation of South Asian people. Soldiers, who work as servants guarding the mansion of the โCrazy Rich Asiansโ, pop out of the jungle and frighten Rachel Chu (Constance Wu) and Goh Peik Lin (Awkwafina). Peik Lin talks to them through a tiny gap in her window, but is otherwise too terrified to interact with them.
While the film may challenge racial politics in the US, itโs blind to the racial politics in Singapore. Indian people are seriouslymarginalisedwithin the context of Singapore, and are often used as cheap labour.
While the film may fail to capture the nuances of racial politics in Singapore, it does shed light on the relationship between Asians in Asia and Asian-Americans. At this point I need to discuss some spoilers. Rachel is placed between her liberal US individualism and the filial piety of Chinese tradition. When Nick eventually proposes to Rachel against his motherโs wishes, heโs willing to give up his family for Rachel: heโs willing to give up these values to pursue his personal passion for Rachel. The film sets up a conflict between US values and Asian ones.
In the end, Rachel gets the guy, and we could say this highlights a triumph of US individualism over Asian collectivism. We could say Asian-American people are being used, in this film, as cultural translators that help to propagate Western liberalism in the Asian context. There are also a large number of Eurasian actors in this film: Golding, Gemma Chan, Jing Lusi, Sonoya Mizuno, Remy Hii. Why are there so many of them? Does this constitute a whitening of Asian identity?
Despite these important questions, the film is not just a piece of US propaganda. Rachel gets the guy because she convinces his mother sheโs worthy. She rejects Nickโs proposal at first, because she knows he would have to choose her over his family. This convinces his mother, Eleanor, Rachel is worthy of her son. Eleanor allows Rachel to marry Nick.
As a Hollywood film, and like Black Panther, Crazy Rich Asians was always going to reflect the fantasies of the Asian diaspora about the mother country, rather than reflecting the experience of Asians in Asia. Even so, it doesnโt help to pit โAsiansโ against Asian Americans โ or Asian Australians for that matter.
As Rachel and Nick (or should we say Eleanor) give up rigid investments in their own cultural perspectives, they symbolically pave the way (through Rachel and Nickโs marriage) for a new relationship between Asia and the Asian diaspora. The question is: can we do the same?

As a self-confessed โgirlsโ girlโ, Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence has an enviable coterie of girlfriends who all live a stoneโs throw from her Beverly Hills mansion. Here, she tells why her three besties have shaped the woman sheโs become.
On actress Emma Stone: โSheโs my best friend; the love of my life. Weโre exact opposites so we help each other. We laugh our heads off together, but there are certain things weโd handle completely differently. If we put our heads together, we can form the perfect solution.โ
On actress/director Jodie Foster: โWhen I was 19, Jodie directed me in The Beaver and I remember realising that while she was obviously very famous, she was a completely normal human. I was thinking, โIf this [acting] works out and I become successful, I hope I can end up like that.โ Sheโs been an incredible mentor to me: I go over to her house, I ask her for advice, sheโll check on me, sheโs always there for me. Sheโs taught me so much.โ
On actress Cameron Diaz: โSheโs been this real spiritual guide to me; sheโs a really brilliant woman. She also taught me how to cook!โ

Last nightโs episode of The Bachelor was hard to watch for reasons other than weโre used to. Instead of sitting through an awkward first date or a wow-the-camera-is-far-too-zoomed-in kiss, we saw three grown women bully and belittle another contestant, resulting in her standing outside in the cold sobbing.
Watching the scene at home, for many, was devastating. Rather than putting the young womanโs mental health first, producers chased Tenille down with a microphone and camera just to ensure they were getting her breakdown on film โ at one point, a producer even asked, โHow do you feel about Nick?โ
Promoting outright bullying goes far further than having a seriesโ โvillainโ for extra drama and viewers across Australia are outraged the behaviour is being not only condoned but aired across the country on national TV.
โShame on you #TheBachelorAU The outright bullying this season is sickening to watch,โ one person wrote on Twitter. โYou are condoning (possibly encouraging if they are actors) Romy, Cat and lacky Aliciaโs disgusting behaviour. You should have stepped in by now and you havenโt. Appalling.โ
โSeriously disgusting behaviour on #TheBachelorAU this season.. itโs genuinely difficult to watch outright bullying and gaslighting,โ another person commented.
Channel 10. If you had the entirety of your teenage audience sitting in front of you what would you say to them? How would you justify letting this behavior go unpunished and for telling young women that it's ok to tear each other down? Shame on you. #TheBachelorAU
Man, this season of the #TheBachelorAU has FULLY reminded me of high school and it makes me so anxious. Also mega disturbed that the whole capitalising on bullying for content is an actual thing happening. Yuck.
Cat and Romy are literally the nastiest girls out. What purpose does pulling down another woman serve? Boost her up for being confident with her body instead. Women like them are the reason girls who aren't toned and tanned hide themselves under baggy clothes. #TheBachelorAU
My absolute fav is that producer telling Tenille to stop running cos it's dangerous but the reason she's running is because they won't stop following her with the cameras when she specifically asked them to stop. Fucking idiots. #TheBachelorAU
Anyone else concerned that this absolute bully is not being reprimanded at all? And anyone who calls her out is punished by being sent home or ridiculed. What message does that send? #TheBachelorAU
Also like, donโt follow The Bullies on social media because Bullies donโt deserve to be Influencers. Bullies are Bad Influencers and should not be rewarded with free meals at trendy Instagram cafes. #TheBachelorAU

This season of The Bachelorhad all the potential to be the best Australia has seen yet. From securing former Wallabies winger Nick โHoney Badgerโ Cummins to be the lead man โ simultaneously tapping into a fan base that otherwise wouldnโt watch the show โ to finally including a more diverse range of contestants, including having proud Aboriginal woman and youth worker, Brooke Blurton, as one of the frontrunners.
But as the weeks have gone by, a problematic theme has come to override pretty much every other aspect of the show โ yes, even that of finding love. The bullying done by three women in the house has gone so far that tonight, we saw a woman leave the house in tears to escape it.
Contestants Romy Poulier, Cat Hennessey and Alisha Radburn were singled out as the โvillainsโ of the series early on, but watching tonightโs episode, itโs evident that their behaviour is far more serious than a few snide comments here and there for added drama.
Having a villain on The Bachelor has become as ingrained in the show as the rose ceremony: There was Laurina Fleure on Blake Garveyโs season, Keira Maguire on Richie Strahanโs season and Jen Hawke on Matty Jโs season.
But this year, weโve seen something different: a group of three bullies, who use manipulation tactics such as gaslighting and whose behaviour, according to contestant Vanessa Sunshine, is even worse off-screen than on.
โWhat youโre seeing is not even half of what went down,โ Vanessa told marie claire. โThey really are like that.โ
โCat, Romy and Alisha get their self-worth and self-validation by belittling, degrading and bullying other people and at the end of the day, itโs bullying.โ
So #TheBachelorAU condones outright bullying now? Romy and her horrible gang needs to be taken off the show for their appalling behaviour.
Last night, we saw a young woman sobbing into producers arms because of the relentless bullying she faced in the Bachelor mansion. Furthermore, we saw those producers use the opportunity to put cameras and a microphone in her face, rather than assessing the situation as one that could be seriously damaging to her mental health.
Seven episodes is enough, itโs time to stop normalising this behaviour, promoting the perpetrators on TV, and giving it any name other than bullying.
The bullying on this season is appalling and it needs to be stopped. Why is this behaviour being rewarded? I'm so disappointed #theBachelorAu

The Duchess of Sussex and The Duchess of Cambridge or Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton as theyโre more casually known, rarely put a sartorial foot wrong, making fashion and style choices that are envied and copied the world over.
In fact, 37-year-old Markle is so feted for her style โ a blush pink Carolina Herrera dress one day, a canary yellow Brandon Maxwell dress the next โ thereโs even a term, the โMeghan Markle Effectโ, for why everything she wears immediately sells out.
But have you ever noticed that while Markle and Middleton wear many different hues from the colour wheel including white, pale pink, baby blue, forest green, jet black, denim, navy, yellow even red, thereโs one colour missing from that line-up? Hint: itโs orange.
Notably, The Queen, who always wears bright hues so she can easily be seen in large crowds by all her adoring fans/subjects, is fine wearing vibrant tangerine hues. As recently as March, Her Majesty stepped out in a bright orange coat-dress paired with a matching hat to tour the Royal Academy of Arts in London.
Which definitively answers the question of whether wearing orange breaks some old royal protocol rule, so why wonโt The Duchesses wear it?
According to The Express, โThere is no royal fashion rule preventing the royals from sporting the vibrant hue, but it is believed orange does not photograph as well as other colours.โ
Fashion designers hoping to dress the fashion-forward Duchesses might want to take note, orange is not the new black, well atleast when it comes to Meghan Markle and Kate Middletonโs wardrobes.

What do we love more than a royal baby? A royal baby-in-law โ in this case,Pippa Middletonโs baby, which is due to be born in October.
Just like her sister, Kate Middleton, before her, Pippa has chosen not to find out the gender of her baby, marie clairereports. How do we know this? Her brother-in-law Spencer Matthews, who divulged the coupleโs decision in a TV interview with UK chat showThis Morning.
โThey donโt [know the gender],โ Matthews revealed, adding, โTheyโre extremely private and honestly, we know nothing.โ
Pippa made her pregnancy public by way of her regular fitness column in Waitrose Kitchen magazine. Titled โExercise During Pregnancyโ, her article detailed her experience of the first trimester and how she had changed her fitness regime.
โIโve noticed my body change and weight increase, but through effective exercise and sports I feel that itโs being strengthened to support a healthy pregnancy, birth, and recovery,โ she wrote.

Real and relatable. Grounded and genuine. Outspoken and open. Google Jennifer Lawrence and theyโre the phrases constantly used to describe Hollywoodโs much-loved megastar. From her hilariously ribald talk-show interviews to her strong stance on gender equality and pay parity, Lawrence is ferociously fearless and frank.
Yet the Oscar winner admits she wasnโt always at ease speaking her truth. โWhen I first started [in Hollywood], Iโd shy away from uncomfortable conversations so Iโd just be agreeable. But then I realised: whatโs the point of saying something if I donโt say exactly what I mean? I made the decision to tell the truth, even when itโs difficult, and it changed my life โ in work, relationships and friendships. Now, everyone knows exactly how I feel and Iโm always myself.โ
Lawrence is speaking exclusively to marie claire in the luxury Beverly Hills Hotel, her pocket-sized pooch Pippi curled in her lap. Weโre chatting about feminism, film, fashion and fragrance, notably because sheโs in LA to launch Parfums Christian Diorโs first new scent in 20 years โ Joy by Dior. This floral, feminine perfume joins Miss Dior and JโAdore in the French fashion houseโs iconic collection of fragrances, and Lawrence says being asked to collaborate on the launch was โa real honourโ and โmajor momentโ in her stellar career.
Lawrence may be only 28, but sheโs been part of our collective cultural psyche for nearly a decade. At just 14, she persuaded her mum to allow her to sign with a New York talent agency and then landed a string of TV gigs before hooking Hollywoodโs attention in 2010 with her Oscar-nominated performance in Winterโs Bone. Soon after, she was catapulted to superstardom in multibillion-dollar franchises The Hunger Games and X-Men, followed by extraordinary performances in Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle, Joy, Passengers, Mother! and this yearโs spy thriller Red Sparrow.
But now, after eight relentless years shooting a film every few months, sheโs decided to opt out and take a well-earned breather. โIโm on vacation from work right now where Iโm not thinking about roles. Itโs been really nice; Iโm relaxing and doing lots of reading.โ But donโt expect to see lit-lite or romance novels on her bedside table; instead sheโs devouring political tome Republic, Lost by Lawrence Lessig โ โOh yes, a very relaxing read,โ she says sarcastically.
Which brings us to her other great passion: political science. โIโd love to go to school for it โ Iโve really thought about it.โ Even so, sheโs aware that with her current clout, sheโs in a powerful position to agitate for change. Sheโs working with Represent.Us, a bipartisan grassroots organisation that aims to โfix Americaโs corrupt political systemโ by engaging young people on a local level. Would she ever consider entering politics herself? โI am really, really over celebrities being presidents,โ she deadpans.
Spend time with Lawrence and itโs impossible not to be impressed by her easy ability to eloquently swing between topics from politics and activism to couture and fragrance, all served with a sassy sense of humour. Sheโs an appealing crop of contradictions.
A self-confessed โopen bookโ whose candid interviews have endeared her to millions, sheโs also fiercely private (โI have a lot of people working 24 hours a day to keep people from knowing about meโ). Sheโs vocal about loving reality TV โ momager Kris Jenner is a friend โ but keeps off social media because โitโs unhealthy to willingly put yourself out thereโ. Is she ever tempted to join the Twitterverse? โOh, yeah! I write so many imaginary speeches, they get deleted, and life moves on. Write it down and burn it.โ
One perfectly penned essay that thankfully didnโt reach the bin was her now-famous contribution to Lena Dunhamโs feminist newsletter Lenny Letter about gender pay equality. When news broke in late 2014, leaked during the Sony hacking saga, that Lawrence was earning less than her male co-stars in American Hustle, Lawrence found her voice. โI felt that no matter how hard I worked, how many accolades I received, or how much money my movies were making, I kept hitting this brick wall because I was a woman. When you put your heart and soul into something and work so hard, itโs just frustrating and heartbreaking. But this is something that affects all women in the workforce. The only thing to be done about it is change. We have to close the gap.โ
For her, feminism is simply about equality. โI donโt think that overreacting about what someone wears or doesnโt wear is important; I donโt see that as feminism โ itโs a distraction,โ she says. โI want to be treated equally, I want to be paid equally, I want to have the same opportunities. Itโs cut and dried for me.โ

Following in the footsteps of the popular make-up trend by the same name, contouring is the next big trend in eyebrows for spring/summer.
โThis look is a paired back take on the OTT Instagram Brow โ and is all about clean edges, accentuated arches and tapered tails. The clue is in the name as this brow works to lift, frame and contour your facial features! Think eye brightening, nose-slimming and face lifting! I love this look as it flatters faces of all shapes, sizes and ages,โ says Benefit Cosmeticsโ National Brow Artist, Hannah Mutze told marie claire.
How To Create The Contour Brow:
1. Apply colour with an ombre-like effect, lighter in the front, darker in the tail. This simple tip keeps even the most defined brows looking natural. Benefitโs Brow Contour Pro ($55; at sephora.com.au) is designed with this in mind, providing tow complimentary shades in one brow pen.
2. Taper your tail. The end of your brow should always taper into a neat point, as this ensures your brows look well-shaped and maximises the lifting effect of your brow!
3. Define and highlight your edges. Defining the edges of your brow after youโve shaped it makes the brow look clean and crisp! Then as the final step to brighten and widen the eye area apply matte highlight to your brow bone, just underneath the arch of your brow and blend well.
Benefit Brow Contour Pro, $55
Hannah warns that the contour can go wrong if youโre applying too much product. โThis mistake makes your brows look flat and unnatural. Instead, try filling only the areas of your brows that need colour and shape the most.โ

Weโve all been there, youโve just been introduced to someone for the first time and almost immediately their name has left your memory bank sending you into a sweaty-palmed panic worrying about how youโll handle the situation if someone else joins the conversation and polite society dictates you introduce your new no-name friend to a third party.
Worse, what if that no-name person is your brand new boss? Thereโs nothing bosses or even regular people love more than being referred to as โyouโ or being pointed at because you have no other way to indicate who youโre talking to.
But, donโt worry youโre not alone. Everyone has trouble remembering names to some degree and Refinery 29 reports thereโs even a study about why this is so. According to the study authored by Lise Abrams and Danielle Davis from the University of Floridaโs department of psychology, โResearch has documented that proper names are more difficult to learn and remember than other types of words.โ
The cause of this Refinery 29 says quoting the study is because names are โrelatively arbitrary,โ a name doesnโt really โdescribe anything about the person, so it might be harder for you to remember it.โ
Whatever the cause, being bad with names is a reality for most people but there are tricks that can turn that awkward name forgetting trait around.
The director of the Memory and Plasticity Program at the University of California, Charan Ranganath, shared with Time a few recommendations for remembering peopleโs names including employing โmnemonic devicesโ. Ranganath said find something about the person that rhymes with their name, like โJohn the joggerโ and itโll be easier to remember.
Ranganath also recommends repeating the personโs name after they say it โ this is a trick polished politicians often use and if youโre ever listening to say, Barack Obama give a two-way interview youโll notice how often he uses the interviewerโs name.
Forbes reports psychiatrist Dr Gary Small suggests, โAsking someone to spell his or her name, especially if itโs an unusual one. This technique can be helpful if you have a visual memory as it creates a mental picture of the personโs name.โ
As doable as these options are, thereโs always the back-up plan to ask the person their name again, they probably wonโt mind and will definitely prefer it to being called โyouโ.

It happens to the best of us: one minute, youโre comatose on the couch, struggling to keep your eyes open during The Bachelor rose ceremony; the next, youโre tossing and turning in bed, wide awake and desperate not to be. But if you struggle to get to sleep, we have good news: this tried-and-tested trick could have you snoozing in a matter of seconds.
According to menโs lifestyle site joe.co.uk, the US military use a certain sleep hack that ensures its servicemen and women can fall asleep in 120 seconds, no matter how uncomfortable their conditions on the field (and no, it doesnโt involve sedatives).
The trick is nothing new โ in fact, it was first published in Relax and Win: Championship Performance in 1981 โ but after six weeks of practice, itโs been proven to have a 96 per cent success rate.
Itโs surprisingly simple: start by closing your eyes (who would have thought?!) and taking deep, slow breaths. Start to consciously relax all the muscles in your face โ from your forehead to your eyes to your jaw โ all the way down to your neck, shoulders, arms and legs, hands and feet.
After another 10 or so seconds of deep, slow breathing, picture your happy place โ the bookโs author suggests lying in a canoe on a calm lake with blue sky above you, or a black velvet hammock (strangely specific, but okay) in a pitch-black room.
If that fails, youโre supposed to say โdonโt thinkโ over and over to yourself for 10 seconds. Weโre not joking.
If what works for the military doesnโt work for you, we quizzed international sleep expert and founding member of the Sleep Health Foundation, Dr Carmel Harrington, for her sleep tips.
โOne hour before bed, switch off all screen activity, dim the lights of the room youโre in, maybe light a candle, which relaxes the body and produces serotonin and have a warm to hot shower in that hour before bed,โ she guides. โThe body likes to fall sleep on a lowering temperature โ itโs all about conditioning your body that itโs time to sleep.

No sooner had we got to know one of Grace Kellyโs granddaughters (new front row fixture Pauline Ducruet), another has entered the spotlight, thanks to her growing social media profile โ and uncanny resemblance to her famous grandmother.
20-year-old Camille Gottlieb is the daughter of Princess Stephanie of Monaco, who is Grace Kellyโs youngest child, and palace guard Jean-Raymond Gottlieb.
As the young royal has grown up, fans couldnโt help but notice how much her bright blue eyes, light brown hair and overall facial features remind them of her late grandmother, who left her life as an American actress to marry Prince Rainier III in Monaco in April 1956.
Despite being of royal descent, Gottlieb is not in line for the throne because her parents never married, Harperโs Bazaar UK reports.
In fact, Gottlieb isnโt even listed on her birth certificate, even though heโs openly acknowledged as Camilleโs father. Camille even refers to him as such on her Instagram.
23-year-old Pauline Ducret, another Grace Kelly granddaughter, is Camilleโs half-sister. Paulineโs father, Daniel Ducruet, was Princess Stephanieโs bodyguard, then husband, before they divorced in 1996.

If this all makes no sense, hereโs a quick refresher: 1939โs The Wizard of Oz is an American musical movie starring Judy Garland in the title role of Dorothy. Young Dorothy gets caught in a tornado and finds herself in a magical place called the Land of Oz, the only way she can get home is by clicking the heels of her sequined ruby red slippers together three times.
So really, those ruby reds are Dorothyโs only way of getting home, itโs not like she could have called an Uber to collect her from the yellow brick road in the Land of Oz. Certainly no GPS system on the planet is going to be able to locate that address.
And like many other pieces of iconic movie memorabilia, one of the pairs of slippers Garland wore in the movie was on display in a museum, the Judy Garland Museum in Garlandโs hometown of Grand Rapids, Minnesota. But, unfortunately according to The Cut they were stolen back in 2005, leaving fictional Dorothy no way to get home.
Per the article the thieves were very targeted taking only the shoes and leaving โnothing but a few shards of glass and a solitary red sequin.โ Which was a devastating loss for the museum, John Kelsch from the Judy Garland Museum told the Star Tribune, โFrance has the Mona Lisa. America has The Wizard of Oz. Theyโre [the shoes] are a symbol of longing for home โ a symbol of a sense of place. Of any artefact from the movie, they touch that emotion in people.โ
Plus, the shoes are very valuable both from a sentimental and monetary perspective, being one of only four pairs worn in the film that are still surviving. โAt the time they went missing, they [the shoes] were insured for USD$1 million and on the 10-year anniversary of their disappearance, an additional USD$1 million reward was offered for their return,โ The Cut reports.
But Dorothy fans can all breathe a huge sigh of relief, after 13 long years the ruby red slippers have been found by the FBI, who shared the news in a press conference on Tuesday afternoon. The Star Tribune reports the FBI said the slippers were found in Minneapolis in August after receiving โa tipโ. No news on who the shoe culprit is and the FBI have reportedly asked the public to share any leads they uncover regarding the investigation.

Just one month after Kourtney Kardashian, 39, and her 26-year-old model boyfriend Younes Bendjima split, the exes were spotted out to dinner. Now reports are suggesting that the pair is working things out.
On September 4th, Kardashian and Bendjima were photographed picking up dinner to go from Bui sushi restaurant in Malibu on Monday night, according to the Daily Mail. Then they drove along the Pacific Coast Highway until they found a parking spot, where they watched the sunset from inside the car, the outlet reports.
A source close to Kourtney revealed to UsWeekly that โthere was some miscommunicationโ but โthey worked it out and are giving it another shot.โ The sources added that Younes โis a really sweet guy.โ
Meanwhile, Kourtneyโs Instagram story hints that she might be feeling the love towards someone special, sharing this photo on Tuesday evening:
Immediately following the break-up, Younnes raised eyebrows when he was spotted getting with a new woman in Mexico. Shortly thereafter he shut down rumours he had moved on, writing on social media, โthey really want me to be the bad guy.โ
โFโckyour Hollywood bullsโt (canโt have fun with your friends no more) Where are my 12 others friends Nice catch tho.โ
Tensions between the couple escalated after Younes publicly shamed his girlfriend on Instagram during their recent vacation to Italy. In a since-deleted comment on a photo of Kardashian wearing a thong bikini, he shaded the post, writing: โThatโs what you need to show to get likes?โ
Kardashian and Bendjima first met in Paris in October 2016 and officially started dating in May 2017.

Last week, Hadid took to her Instagram to share an image from a recent photo shoot. In the shot, the 23-year-old model wears a baggy sweater, short shorts and heels with socks, showing off her incredibly toned legs.
The Instagram account @commentsbycelebs reposted the famous friendโs interaction, pointing out, โThis was meant to be sarcastic, @blakelively, but you honestly probably do.โ

When Meghan Markle isnโt doing her own make-up she calls on Daniel Martin to create her Duchess-worthy radiant beauty look. In a brand-new interview, Daniel revealed that he relies on skincare rather than traditional highlighters to give Meghan that โlit from withinโ glow.
Martin says the first step to any royal regimen is hydration. Before highlighters, you would do highlighting with Aquaphor,โ he told E! News. โAquaphor will give you that same texture, especially in a photo [when applied] on the high points of the face.โ

News flash for anyone who fears the romantic comedy is dead: in the past three weeks, a new icon of the genre has emerged, and itโs already proved more popular than any other rom-com released in (almost) the last decade.
Crazy Rich Asians has been crowned the most successful Hollywood romantic comedy of the last nine years after Labor Day box office takings saw it rake in a whopping $US117-million, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
That puts it a cool seven-mill ahead of the previous frontrunner, Amy Schumerโs flick Trainwreck, which took in $US110.2-million in 2015.
The only rom-com to have topped that record is The Proposal, starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, which made $US164-million in 2009, Harperโs Bazaar UKreports.
The first Hollywood film with an all Asian-American cast since 1993 (The Joy Luck Club), Crazy Rich Asians is based on Kevin Kwanโs bestselling novel of the same name. Since its recent release, itโs been celebrated worldwide for championing Asian actors, not to mention a killer plot-line and laugh-out-loud script. Read our review here.

When it comes to birthdays most kids hit 13 and enter the terrible teens praying for as little fanfare as possible because, parents are so embarrassing, right? Also, no 13-year-old wants fashion gifts picked out by their parents, because again, embarrassing. As if they would have any idea what a teen wants to wear.
Unlessโฆ in the very unlikely scenario that your mum happens to be a Grammy-winning singer and then itโs probably cool to post about your birthday party on social media and also wear something your mum picked out especially for your special day.
Case in point: Madonnaโs adopted son David Banda turned 13 over the weekend and the 60-year-old mother-of-six threw him a pumping birthday bash, which was enjoyed by all the family if the video the Ray Of Light singer posted on her Instagram account is anything to go by (it is).
Madonna also shared a picture of him in his โbirthday suitโ โ a head-to-toe heavily logoed Gucci look complete with Gucci slides and a Gucci backpack โ and captioned it โHappy Birthday To My Lucky #13. Rise above all limitations!โ
Madonna adopted David in 2006 from an orphanage in Malawi and according to The Daily Mail the mother and son recently took a trip to Malawi to visit his former home.
Since adopting David in 2006 the Vogue singer has adopted a further three children from Malawi, 12-year-old Mercy James and six-year-old twins Estere and Stella. The Queen of Pop also has two children from previous relationships, 21-year-old Lourdes โ her daughter from her relationship with dancer Carlos Leon and 18-year-old Rocco Ritchie โ a son from her marriage to English director Guy Ritchie.

It looks like Kendall Jenner is single again. The 22-year-old model has reportedly split from Australian NBA-player Ben Simmons due to the pairโs conflicting schedules.
The relationship was first reported on in May, after Jennerโs split with basketball star Blake Griffin, and was confirmed at the Kardashianโs 4th of July party.
However, due to their work commitments, the two have reportedly been drifting apart.
โKendall and Benโs relationship is fizzling and dissipating due to scheduling conflicts,โ a source told Us Weekly. โKendall is so busy and has so much going on and doesnโt want to wait around for anyone.โ
Now it looks like the model has taken to the tattoo parlour following the split. In an Instagram story, Jenner flashes what looks like a brand new tattoo on her right rib, which reads โbabyโ.

Meghan Markle is proving time and time again that despite being a part of the royal family, thereโs one rule she wonโt adhere to.
Queen Elizabeth prefers royal women to wear dresses and skirts on public occasions, something the Duchess of Sussex, a feminist since age 11, has reportedly been struggling to come to terms with.
For their upcoming royal tour of Australia and New Zealand, Meghan agreed to switch a Stella McCarney tuxedo-style pantsuit to something more traditional at Prince Harryโs request, however, sheโs sticking firmly to wearing pants in the meantime. Case in point: her latest look, an Altuzarra black pantsuit.
For her first appearance at the WellChild Awards with Prince Harry in London, Meghan paired the pantsuit with a black camisole by Scandinavian label Deitas, a black Stella McCartney clutch and a pair of black pumps.
The 37-year-old finished the look with one of her trademark messy buns and a pair of diamond and pearl earrings, which were reportedly a gift from the Queen.

The 20-year-old had reportedly been working her last shift on the Mayan Queen IV, a US$140 million, 92-metre yacht, owned by Mexican mining magnate Alberto Baillรจres when the captain of a neighbouring yacht spotted her body at the back of the boat.
While a Greek coroner has confirmed her official cause of death, he says additional information could take months.
The Daily Mail reports that the coroner advised Ms McNamaraโs mother, Kylie, and her sister, Lauren, not to visit the morgue, saying they should not go โto see her in such bad stateโ. The pair had been on their way to join Sinead for a holiday after she finished working on the yacht.
The captain of the superyacht who spotted McNamaraโs body, who has asked not to be named, has since spoken out about how he desperately tried to save the young woman after spotting her at around 1:45am on Friday morning. A doctor on board the Mayan Queen IV then tried to resuscitate McNamara before she was airlifted to a local hospital however she died on the way.

Arguably, Britain is home to two royal families: the Windsors, headed by Queen Elizabeth II; and the Beckhams, headed by former Spice Girlsโ member turned fashion designer, Victoria Beckham.
Despite having an incredibly high-profile marriage with divorce rumours and false reports circulating almost weekly, Victoria and David Beckham have managed to stay happily married for 19 years with four children โ Brooklyn, 19, Romeo, 16, Cruz, 13, and Harper, seven โ plus a dog named Olive between them.
To celebrate 10 years of her namesake fashion label, Victoria brought together her entire family for a photo shoot withBritish Vogue, during which she opened up about life in the spotlight.
โPeople have been making things up about our relationship for 20 years,โ she said of her marriage with David, adding that they have learned to โ[ignore] the nonsenseโ.
โBut these things have a wider effect on the people around us, and thatโs unfair,โ she added.
The mother-of-four also opened up about her childrenโs fashion sense, revealing her seven-year-old daughter, Harper, has โbeen able to run in Alaรฏa platforms since she was three,โ but that she doesnโt wear heels or makeup outside of the house.
โOn one hand, sheโs quite girly, but on the other hand she has three big brothers and likes to run around and play football. Sheโs not scared of being pushed over,โ she noted.

What does luxury mean to you? In an increasingly time-poor, frenetic world, one of the most luxurious things is simplicity. In fashion terms that means pared-back style: beautifully designed classics that focus on impeccable cuts and tactile textures.
โSimple style is an art form worth mastering, because it takes you everywhere and doesnโt date,โ saysmarie claireโs fashion director Jana Pokorny. โThe secret is drilling down the classic staples that work as building blocks for your wardrobe. Invest in a great pair of tailored black pants and a wider leg, man-style shape in Springโs favourite sandy shade. A sharply cut grey blazer always looks modern. โ
โThe shirt dress shape is timeless,โ advises fashion editor Bree McDonald. โSpots have always been my thing, and I appreciate Treneryโs chic and simple approach with this dress in fluid silk. โ
โTreneryโs new black jersey dress is extremely versatile, and will be on high rotation in your wardrobe,โ says fashion assistant Monica Russell. โI love the clean lines and longer length, and would wear it with sneakers by day and a sleek heel for going out.โ
โThey say elegance is restraint, a nothing says that quite so well as a crisp white blouse or silk-trimmed T-shirt,โ says fashion editor-at-large Clare Press. โWear yours with tailoring, denim or one of the new midi-skirts.โ
Market editor Tara Morrisโs tip is to pay special attention to your accessories. โThe minimalist wardrobe puts the focus on small details and high-end finishes. Trenery uses lovely quality leathers which really stand out,โ she says. Her pick? The โLouiseโ sandal in nude nubuck with its on-trend mid-height heel and sculptural back.

Is there anything more satisfying than chowing down on a perfectly crispy-on-the-outside-but-gooey-on-the-inside ham and cheese toastie? The answer here is usually a resounding no. But just in case you need a little more convincing, hereโs another reason to dish one up: it could help you live longer.
Researchers from McMaster University in Canada looked at data from over 218,000 adults across more than 50 countries around the world and divided them into five categories according to their eating habits.
By adopting a balanced diet (aka, one that includes a moderate amount of dairy and meat and limited processed foods like refined carbs) you can reduce your chance of premature death by up to 25 per cent and a fatal heart attack by 22 per cent.
โPeople who consumed a diet emphasising fruit, vegetables, nuts, legumes, fish, dairy products and meat had the lowest risk of cardiovascular disease and early death,โ explained Andrew Mente, principal investigator at the universityโs Population Health Research Institute.
This goes against thecurrent dietary guidelines, which advises that people who consume more than 90g of red or processed meat daily should cut this back to 70g at most. Previous studies show that too much beef, pork and veal can increase the risk of developing bowel cancer.
โThinking on what constitutes a high-quality diet for a global population needs to be reconsidered,โ Mente added. โFor example, our results show that dairy products and meat are beneficial for heart health and longevity.โ
That said, Professor Jeremy Pearson, associate medical director at the British Heart Foundation stresses that moderation should still be key:
โEating well means looking at your diet as a whole, rather than focusing too much on individual elements,โ he said.
โMeat and dairy can contribute to a healthy, balanced diet as long as theyโre eaten in moderation along with plenty of fruits and vegetables, pulses, wholegrains and nuts.โ

Burning Man has officially kicked off in the desert of Black Rock, Nevada with celebrities, models and influencers using the occasion to party in wild, skin-baring outfits โ all while documenting their time on Instagram, of course.
Despite previous years having a celebrity attendance to rival that of Coachella, 2018โs festival seems a little more low-key with many famous faces opting to skip out of the dust party.
But there were still a few celeb cameos: supermodels Heidi Klum and Alessandra Ambrosio joined Nina Dobrev and Aussies, Nathalie Kelley and Elyse Taylor, as well as the Hadidโs BFFs, musicians Simi Haze, for the eight-day event.

Entrepreneur and founder of Tech Ready Women, Christie Whitehill shares her top tips for making your business tech savvy.
1. BUILD A DIGITAL TOOL KIT
If you want to build a business in 2018, itโs more than likely you will be acquiring your customers online. Donโt know which channels your customers are on? You can do three things. Firstly, ask them. Set up some customer interview questions or create a survey using a tool such as Typeform to get their feedback. Youโll also want to find out where they are currently buying the products or services youโre wanting to offer and which channels they are using to learn about them.
2. GET CURIOUS ABOUT TECH
About half the worldโs population (3.6 billion people) is spending 5.9 hours per day online, so the internet is not going away anytime soon. But you donโt necessarily need to build a custom website or app to have a business that is online. There are plenty of tools, apps and websites that will make your business tech savvy. If you want to talk to your customers in a more personal way, you can build your own chatbot on Facebook. If you need a personal assistant to schedule your meetings, there is a chatbot called Amy that can do that via email. If you are keen to take your store online, you can use out-of-the-box website builders such as Wix and Squarespace.
Gone are the days of creating 60-page business plans and keeping your business a secret until you launch. At Tech Ready Women, the organisation I founded to help female entrepreneurs, we follow what is called the Lean Startup approach, made famous by Eric Ries and his book The Lean Startup. It is built on the principle of a build, measure and learn feedback loop, which focuses on getting your product into the hands of your customers faster, to help save time and money spent building products and services people donโt want.
4. KEEP YOUR FINGER ON THE PULSE
With the rise of technologies such as AI, machine learning and automation, most industries are ripe for disruption if they havenโt been already. People are problem solvers and weโre constantly coming up with ways to make things better, faster and stronger. Thanks to technology, itโs easier than ever for an everyday person to design a tech solution for their industry. Want to find ways to use tech in your field? Take notice of any apps and tools that are popping up that have made your life or job easier. Ask yourself if thereโs a way you can automate some of the systems or processes. You never know, you could be sitting on the next million-dollar idea.
5. DONโT BE AFRAID OF START-UP BUZZWORDS
What do AI, Blockchain, MVP, Python, Java and Ruby stand for? They sound like some sort of snake, coffee and jewellery, right? Like most industries, jargon and buzzwords get thrown around quite a lot, and unless youโre on the inside youโll have no idea what people are talking about. These terms and many more get used in the tech start-up world. If youโre hiring a developer to build your website and you donโt understand what theyโre saying, donโt be afraid to ask them to explain. Knowledge is power, and when youโre forking out thousands of dollars for a website, you want to make sure youโre on the same page as your developer.

Lady Gagaโs officialmake-upartist Sarah Tanno was responsible for creating the actressโ show-stopping make-up look for the screening ofA Star Is Bornat the 75th International Film Festival over the weekend. For the past five years, she has accompanied Gaga on every tour red carpet event and photoshoot. Here, we chat with the Marc Jacobs Beauty global ambassador, about next seasonโs make-up trends, her best-kept secrets and must-havebeauty products.Keep reading for 5 minutes with Sarah Tannoโฆ
1. What are the key make-up trends for spring/summer 2018/19?
ST: โFirstly and most importantly, skin is going to be in. Itโs so beautiful when you can see your skin through the makeup. Thatโs why I love the Marc Jacobs Shameless foundation ($70; atsephora.com.au). Itโs designed to mimic your skinโs texture and itโs self-setting so you donโt need to finish it with a tonne of powder.
โOn thered carpet, weโre seeing bold statements and more colour, itโs very empowering and I think it says a lot about where we are here in 2018.โ
2. Is there a modern way to wear colour?
ST: โItโs all about creating eyes with sheen and I think glitter will be big again this season. Marc Jacobs has just launched a new eyeshadow with a gel formula, it feels like a cream when youโre putting it on but its natural powder eyeshadow. Theyโre called the O!mega Shadow ($42 each; atsephora.com.au) and they come in individual colours, my favourite is a nude tan shade called, โthe big O.โ You can use every single day to create definition around the eye socket and itโs smooth and easy to blend.โ
ST: โI have worked as her personal make-up artist for five years and part of her team for ten. Iโve learned so much doing her make-up because what I do with her so is different to everyone else, as a performer she has so many mediums of art.
โFor the red carpet, I always want to be able to see her skin, so I talk with her facialist about how we are going to prep her skin for that day. I really trustMarc Jacobs Shameless foundation, because it doesnโt end up getting really shiny and it looks natural. Marc Jacobs highighliner glam glitter gel eye crayon, ($36; atsephora.com.au) is another go-to product that I have in every colour. You can use it as a sharp eyeliner or buff it out as an eyeshadow.โ
4. Are there any pharmacy beauty products that people might be surprised to find in your kit?
ST: โOne of my favourite moisturisers in the whole world is Cetaphil ($20; atpricleline.com.au). It just works on everybody itโs really good under make-up.
โFor taking it off I really like Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes ($8; at priceline.com.au) and I also really like Ole Henriksen Truth on the Glow Cleansing Cloths ($22; atsephora.com.au) they contain Vitamin C and they smell amazing.
5. What is one of the most common make-up mistakes that you notice on women and how do we correct it?
ST: โOne thing that irritates me is make-up that is too heavy during the day, highlighter in particular. Itโs so bright that it could direct air traffic. Instagram makes women feel like they have to wear more make-up or they have to look so perfect that every pore is covered and thatโs something that I think is a huge mistake, I donโt think that most people find that sexy or powerful.โ

According to People, Harry dropped โthousandsโ on an artwork by rising British artist Van Donna which said โEverybody Needs Somebody To Loveโ on one side, with a couple holding hands depicted on the other side just days before news of their relationship went public.
While itโs not been confirmed the Prince bought it for the then Suits actress, weโd say itโs a pretty safe bet.
โHarry is one of the regulars in the area and regularly goes into the shops and galleries with his bodyguard, kind of in stealth mode,โ a local art collector told People.
โHe was in the gallery for a little while and liked a few things, then settled on the Van Donna. He said he was looking for something for โan important person.โ It was literally just before anyone heard about Meghan โ literally just days before it was announced he was going out with her.โ
โHarry asked is he could split the diptych up,โ added the source. โHe said, โIf itโs possible?โ I guess you could do that quite easily if you wanted to, but this is an artwork in itself. I mean, it is supposed to form a single artwork.
โAt the time nobody knew about Meghan Markle, but if it was for her then itโs a very romantic gesture. Itโs a bit like a charm bracelet โ where you give half of it to someone youโre involved with and keep the other half yourself. We should all learn something from it, I think.โ

Sheโs The Bachelor contestant whoโs not afraid to cause a stir and go after what she wants, as Romy Poulier proved on last weekโs episode when she snuck into the Bachelor Nick Cumminsโ tent during a group camping date.
The group date was high-stakes with one of the Bachelorettes to be sent home, so Romy saw it as the perfect opportunity to make her move and get a little extra one-on-one time in the hopes of securing herself a rose.
โ The Bachelor Australia ๐น (@TheBachelorAU) August 30, 2018
The pair were then heard giggling in their tent, which was conveniently just metres away from love-struck contestant Cassie, who was less than impressed with their after-dark dalliance.
โ The Bachelor Australia ๐น (@TheBachelorAU) August 30, 2018
Despite telling the camera what she had planned on the show, Romy has since revealed it was actually the Bachieโs idea in an interview with TV Week.
โIt was time for bed and Nick motioned for me to come into his swag,โ she said. โHe wanted a snuggle. It was really harmless, we just had a cuddle and a giggle and looked at the stars. It was really cute. He gave me a kiss goodnight as I was leaving, but it wasnโt a full-on pash or anything.โ
The photo shoot director from Queensland also spoke about being labelled this seasonโs โvillainโ.
โIโll speak out if something annoys me,โ she said. โIf that makes me the villain, then fine, Iโm the villain. Iโm not nasty, just honest, and people in the house and watching at home can take that however they like. Iโm OK with that.โ

The one problem with living in the Southern Hemisphere (proximity to Europe aside)? The agonising wait we always endure before we can dabble in the new season fashion trends everyone else on Instagram has been wearing for months. But spring is finally here โ and with it, the chance to try our hand at the envy-inducing outfits the street style set at Copenhagen Fashion Week have been pulling off with such aplomb.
In case you missed the memo: Paris has officially been dethroned as the worldโs cool-girl capital, and instead of coveting French fashion, weโre craving the effortless style seen on the Danish It-girls that are blowing up our Instagram feeds. Taking our sartorial cues from the likes of Pernille Teisbaek and Amanda Norgaard, weโve rounded up the top trends to emerge from the Nordic summer โ just in time for the Australian spring.
1/ Wrap dresses and tops
Every season brings us a fresh dress trend: last year, it was all about the off-the-shoulder silhouette: this spring/summer, itโs the reign of the wrap dress. Floaty printed dresses and tops, cinched at the waist with wrap ties for a universally flattering fit, were everywhere at Copenhagen Fashion Week: buy yours from under-the-radar Danish fashion label VERO MODA (now โ finally! โ available in Australia at Myer, ASOS and the Iconic) and Ganni (available on Net-a-Porter).
VERO MODA spring 2018
2/ Breezy separates
One of the defining trends of the new season? Loose tailoring, given a decidedly un-business-like twist by way of look-at-me brights and pastel hues. From breezy silk two-pieces in all the colours of the rainbow (think everything from vivid green to peach to purple), to block-colour dresses and billowing balloon sleeves, coordinating separates were just as popular as dresses at Europeโs most recent fashion weeks.
3/ Check mate
Looking for something thatโs a little more office apropos? Checked suiting is everywhere right now, from chic check blazers (we love this check blazer with a slight โ80s edge by VERO MODA) pared back with boyfriend jeans for weekends and tailored black pants (or even matching check trousers) for work. You can take embrace the check trend beyond the blazer and incorporate it into summery outfits too โ try Danish brand Cecilie Copenhagen for sweet embroidered check dresses and separates, or Swedish label Anine Bing.
4/ Whimsical florals
Florals, for spring? The phrase has become almost as over-used as the trend itself, but trust us: neither are going anywhere. Delicate florals, printed onto bold colour, are being seen predominantly on statement dresses and skirts to take you from early spring (team with a denim jacket on cooler days) to the soaring temperatures of high summer. We love the floral designs in VERO MODAโs upcoming spring/summer collections, many of which are wrap dresses (so you can tick off two trends at once).

5/ Denim done differently
From the ubiquitous cropped boyfriend jean to denim culottes and high-waisted shorts, denim is essential to anchor the seasonโs floaty florals and silk separates. But it can also be worn all on its own: take the VERO MODA denim dress (available November), a versatile piece vital to any womanโs spring/summer wardrobe, or the MSGM denim trench.

It seems even fellow royals arenโt immune to Meghan Markleโs sartorial influence, with another princess getting married over the weekend in a look inspired by the Duchess of Sussexโs own wedding gown.
Deniz Kaya married Prince Konstantin of Bavaria in a fairytale wedding in St Moritz, Switzerland over the weekend and her look was inspired by Meghanโs look on her big day.
Her dress, while lace which was different from Meghanโs, had the same sleek silhouette and bateau neckline.
Her hair and make-up was also reminiscent of the former Suits actress, with a sleek low bun, parted in the centre and a gorgeous barely-there make-up look.
She topped off the look with a classic veil and diamond earrings.
The couple hosted a lavish reception in nearby Engadine after the ceremony where they hosted some of Europeโs most glamorous royals including Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip of Sweden.

While weโve been busy planning a non-existent wedding based off the bridal gowns seen on the Venice Film Festival red carpet, another European film festival has kicked off โ and if Kate Beckinsaleโs first look is anything to go by, the dresses are going to be just as breathtaking.
Arriving at the 2018 Deauville American Film Festival in France last night, the British actress wore a crimson red princess gown by Zuhair Murad Couture, which was covered in diamonds and gems.
Beckinsaleโs choice of show-stopping gown was perfect for the night, as the actress was being presented with the Deauville Talent Award and was walking the red carpet for an event in her honour.
The 45-year-old wore her hair wavy and pulled back and kept her makeup fresh with dangling diamond earrings to finish the look.

Since Meghan Markle came on to the scene, the world has obsessed over her every move โ and have become enamoured with her chic, modern take on royal dressing.
However, while the world is swept up with Meghan-fever following her royal wedding this year, it seems sister-in-law Kate Middleton is still the most influential royal when it comes to style.
According to the Evening Standard, eBayโs annual retail UK report shows that Kate still trumps Meghan when it comes to influencing shopping habits.
Most notably her maternity style when pregnant with Prince Louis, which apparently generated more online searches on eBay than any other royal over the past year.
While Meghanโs fashion choices are often applauded and coveted, this could be due to her preferring more high-end designers, whereas Kate has nailed the high-low mix, meaning her style is more achievable to the masses.
According to the Evening Standard, searches for tailored maternity coats more than tripled in November 2017 and searches for Jenny Packham reportedly doubled. Other brands favoured by the Duchess including Alexander McQueen, maternity label Seraphine also saw surges.

The Favourite, a movie that is loosely based on historical fact, was always going to generate a big reaction at the Venice Film Festival.
Olivia Colman plays the frail and slightly unhinged early 18th century British monarch, Queen Anne, who jostles with two woman in a power struggle in her court as they vye for her sexual favour. Lady Sarah, the Duchess of Marlborough (Rachel Weisz), whose husband is away fighting the French, is effectively running the country. But when her conniving cousin the Queenโs new servant Sarah (Emma Stone) arrives, the naรฏve monarch is seduced by her charms.
(Credit: Getty Images)
For a second time this year Weisz has a woman-on-woman love scene after Disobedience with Rachel McAdams, while the film marks a follow-up too for Oscar winner Stone after her portrayal as Billie Jean King in Battle of the Sexes.
At The Favouriteโs Venice press conference, the usually hilarious Colman (The Night Manager) was asked about the sexual politics in the historical film, to which she replied, โThere was a lot of it!โ
โThat aspect of the film is timeless. We think we invented sex but we didnโt. Itโs been going on for quite a long time. It was awfully fun having sex with Emma Stone.โ
โIt was really fun having sex with you too,โ Stone quipped.
In the film, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos (The Lobster, The Killing of a Sacred Deer starring Nicole Kidman) Stone plays an educated aristocrat who has lost her status and will do anything to get it back. At the age of 15 her father lost her to a fat German with a thin penis in card game. She may be devious but sheโs not evil, says Stone.
โSheโs overcome a lot, sheโs a survivor. I loved every element of getting to play her. In terms of the challenges for me I was the only American in the cast, so it was a bit daunting trying to make sure that the accent made sense. The corsets were a challenge too just because you canโt breathe all day.
(Credit: Getty Images)
โThe whole cast had this three-week rehearsal process before we started shooting and it was far from traditional. We did a whole bunch of crazy stuff. We had to learn to be embarrassed in front of each other and rely on each other. I think by the time we were shooting we all felt very close and comfortable. When I had to have sex with the Queen, with Olivia, it was very comfortable. We were very good friends.โ
I asked Colman, who is playing Queen Elizabeth in season three of The Crown, about playing two queens in one year.
โTheyโre not very similar,โ she deadpanned, โand thatโs good. Weโve started filming on The Crown and Iโm having a lovely time, so I hope I donโt let you down when it comes out. I canโt really compare the two queens. I donโt think Queen Elizabeth learned anything from Queen Anne!โ
I then suggested that the heavily bewigged Nicholas Hoult, whose brilliant blue eyes are offset by a stunning Sandy Powell royal blue costume, and Joe Alwyn (otherwise known as Taylor Swiftโs beau) were playing women as well.
โIt was fabulous!โ replied Hoult.
(Credit: Getty Images)
Colman: โI just want to give you a visual of Nick who is 6โ 2โ with heels and a foot and a half of wig! None of us could look at him when we were acting because it was just too funny.โ
Alwyn added, โIt was a lot of fun running around in wigs, in high heels and in fancy costumes. Itโs every manโs dream!โ
While the filmโs story delves into the power that the three women held as they made decisions on a whim that could effect millions of people, can it also be seen as a statement about womenโs empowerment post MeToo#?
โObviously I donโt mind that idea, but we canโt take credit because we started the project many years ago,โ Lanthimo replied. โI think the positive aspect of this film is that it focuses on three female characters, which is rare. But what we tried to do is portray them as human beings, because most of the time, given the prevalent male gaze in cinema, women are portrayed as housewives or girlfriends or objects of desire. So we tried to show them as complex and complicated, wonderful and horrific. They are like every other human being.โ

When it comes to your health, the shape of your nails is not something most people would consider taking note of as an early warning sign of being seriously ill, particularly since many peopleโs true nails are only ever seen by their manicurist who deftly hides them under a set of gel nails.
However, as it turns out, changes in the shape of your nails can be an indicator of underlying heart or lung issues as British woman, Jean Taylor, recently found out, so you might want to rethink that addiction to shellac.
Cosmopolitan reports Taylor noticed her nails were growing in a strange shape and posted a picture to her Facebook page asking if anyone had seen nails like that. Taylor wrote in a subsequent post that a few people urged her to go to the doctor, which she thought was โa tad extreme.โ
Extreme though she thought it was, Taylor wrote that she did go to the doctor and was immediately โrushed for blood test and a chest X-ray,โ plus additional tests including a CT scan, PET scan, blood test, breathing test, MRI and a lung biopsy.
After two weeks of medical tests Taylor was diagnosed with lung cancer. โWhen your nails curve itโs often linked to heart and lung disease and its official term is โclubbingโ,โ Taylor wrote in the post, adding โHope this post can help someone else in the early stages of cancer.โ
Taylor also praised the NHS writing, โBig shout out to the NHS you have been excellent and I thank all the staff that have dealt with my diagnosis.โ
According to the Cancer Research UK website, โFinger clubbing means specific changes in the shape of your fingers and fingernails. People with heart or lung problems sometimes have these changes.โ It occurs in โmore than three out of 10 people (35 per cent) with non small lung cancer but only about four out of 100 people (four per cent) with small cell lung cancer.โ

With such international attention on the four biggest events โ New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week, and fashion shows from morning โtil night, itโs only natural that some weird and wonderful moments would be documented on camera.
From supermodels stumbling on the runway, to benches (Balenciaga) and lights collapsing (Diane Von Furstenberg), weโve rounded up all of the most memorable fashion week moments of all time.
1. Naomi Campbellโs iconic fall
In 1993, one of the worldโs top supermodels, Naomi Campbell, took a tumble in a huge pair of Vivienne Westwood heels at London Fashion Week. In true โsuperโ fashion, she flashed her huge smile and got on with the show.
2. A Zoolander inception
At Valentinoโs 2015 Paris Fashion Week show, Blue Steele came to life with a catwalk cameo by Derek Zoolander and Hansel (AKA Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson).
Bella Hadid reminded us all that she is actually human when she took a fall on the runway at the Michael Kors show during New York Fashion Week in 2016.
4. NSFW at PFW
Divert your eyes because at Rick Owenโs autumn/winter 2015 Paris Fashion Week show, models walked the runway with their genitalia on show.
5. Madonnaโs finale
For Jean Paul Gaultierโs 1992 Paris Fashion Week show, Madonna walked the designerโs finale alongside himโฆ topless.
6. โHot Mugshot Guyโ becomes a model
Who can forget when convicted felon Jeremy Meeks went viral for his ridiculously good-looking mugshot? Quickly dubbed โHot Mugshot Guyโ, Meeks was given a modelling contract when he was released from jail and quickly went on to appear on the fashion week runway.
7. Yeezy Season 4
Remember when Kanye West held Yeezy Season 4 in a park and it was so hot that models fainted? Others were forced to take off faulty heels and walk the runway barefoot and take water from audience members after members of the Yeezy team didnโt come to their aid. Yikes.
8. Kate Mossโ cigarette
Kate Moss shocked everyone in 2011 when, on National No Smoking Day, she took to the Louis Vuitton runway smoking a cigarette. The point? Freedom of expression.
9. Lindsay Lohanโs foray into fashion
Lindsay Lohanโs brief stint as artistic advisor at Emanuel Ungaro resulted in heart-shaped glitter pasties on the brandโs spring/summer 2010 runway. Lohanโs swift exit from fashion followed but Emanuel Ungaro has never quite recovered.
10. A Kate Moss hologram
In the wake of Kate Mossโ cocaine scandal, longtime friend Alexander McQueen showed his support by creating a haunting hologram of the model for the finale of his 2006 show.
11. Fashion in the desert
Pierre Cardin transported guests to the Gobi Desert in China, using the dunes of Whistling Sand Mountain as a backdrop to showcase its spring/summer 2008 collection.
12. Karl Lagerfeld x the Great Wall of China
Nowadays, Karl Lagerfeld is famous for his over-the-top fashion show sets (think Chanel Casinos, rocketships and makeshift icebergs), but nothing beats Fendi in 2007 when Lagerfeld held a runway show on the Great Wall of China.

With the 2018 Invictus Games a little over a month away, comes the realisation that so too is Meghan Markle and Prince Harryโs first official royal tour of Australia โ and well it would be an understatement to say weโre excited.

The Invictus Games is a multi-sport event for wounded, injured and ill servicemen and women. The games, founded by Prince Harry after he attended the 2013 Warrior Games in the United States, one year later he launched the inaugural Invictus Games in London.

The games were held again in 2016 in Orlando, Florida and 2017 in Toronto.
Athletes compete in Athletics, Archery, Driving challenge, Indoor rowing, Powerlifting, Road cycling/Road para-cycling, Swimming, Sitting volleyball, Wheelchair basketball, Wheelchair rugby and this year will see a new addition with sailing added to the program.
What dates are 2018 The Invictus Games on?

Which famous faces are attending?
While the obvious drawcard is Prince Harry obviously, his wife Meghan Markle will also be joining him, as part of the coupleโs first official royal tour following their wedding in May this year.
But Meghan and Harry arenโt the only famous faces youโre likely to spot in Sydney during the games.
David Beckham explained that he was โincredibly proudโ to take up the role, and weโre sure Harry and Meghan will be thrilled to spend some time with their friend too, with the Beckhams attending Harry and Meghanโs wedding earlier this year. Hereโs hoping he brings Victoria and the kids too!
Australiaโs very-own royal, Princess Mary, has also been confirmed to be attending and will be joined by husband, Crown Prince Frederik.
How can I attend?
Tickets are available now from the official Invictus Games website, and youโll be able to catch all the action on the ABC as the official broadcaster of the games.

Every season luxury French fashion brand Balmain debuts a new set of campaign faces to join the ranks of their so-called โBalmain Armyโ. Past and current army recruits include all the freshest, most in-demand faces like Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Victoriaโs Secret alumni Jourdan Dunn.
However, 32-year-old Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing, who joined the storied house in 2009 bringing a much-needed fresh perspective to the label, is not the kind of designer to rest on past successes or keep rolling out the same formula season after season.
Instead, Rousteing is renowned for his forward-thinking, inclusive contribution to the fashion landscape and his latest move is a case in point. Balmain has revealed three CGI models have joined the #BalmainArmy, creating a new โvirtual armyโ.
The new virtual Balmain army has two custom CGI models and a third, Shudu, who already has a high profile in fashion and beauty circles thanks to her creatorโs clever use of social media โ back in February Fenty Beauty reposted an image of Shudu wearing their lipstick, which of course, went viral.
Balmainโs two new virtual army recruits, Margot and Zhi, were, according to Refinery 29 created by the same fashion-photographer-turned-CGI-artist, Cameron-James Wilson, who created Shudu.
Speaking to Refinery 29, the 32-year-old designer said, โI created the virtual army in the same way that Iโm creating my collection. Iโm really obsessed with music and what I really love about it are the icons,โ which reportedly influenced how Margot and Zhi turned out.
Rousteing said Chinese CGI model Zhiโs short, cropped hair is โvery rock โnโ rollโ and her look references pop icon David Bowie, โSheโs the one pushing the agenda that David Bowie did in the past.โ
Margot is โthe French girl of his childhood dreamsโ and exudes high glamour like another of the designerโs favourite rock icons, โTina Turnerโ.
Rousteingโs move into using AI models in his campaign is seen as a positive, inclusive masterstroke, with a statement on the Balmain website saying, โAnyone and everyone is always welcome to join Balmain Armyโs growing ranks โ they need only share our bold spirit of adventure as our new virtual icons, Margot, Shudu and Zhi who mirror the beauty, the rock style and the confident power.โ

โTo this day, my pet peeve is when my skin tone is changed and my freckles are airbrushed out of a photo shoot,โ she once told Allure Magazine.
Meghan even asked her go-to make-up artist of late Daniel Martin, to make they were visible on her wedding day to Prince Harry. Itโs not hard to guess why either, freckles speak to a certain youthfulness and evoke a natural quality to your overall look. Most of us arenโt born with a natural cluster of our own beauty marks, which is precisely why U.K. beauty brand Bronzie created a Meghan-inspired stencil aptly called The Ultimate Freckle Stencil (approx. $8.90; at bronzieuk.com) and yes they ship to Australia.
Designed to be used with your favourite self-tanning product, the stencil creates a temporary freckle tattoo. According to the product description just, โpop the stencil over your face and apply your chosen tan product to achieve a long-lasting, cute as a button finish.โ After all, weโve heard of tan being used to contour so it was only a matter of time before something like this came along, right?

On-screen chemistry can make or break a movie and when a casting director finds two actors with that intangible spark between them, it lights up the screen putting the true magic into movie making.
One of the best examples of off-the-charts on-screen chemistry in recent silver screen history is between Oscar-winning actress Emma Stone and Oscar-nominated actor Ryan Gosling, who have starred in three movies together to date: 2016โs La La Land, 2013โs Gangster Squad and 2011โs Crazy, Stupid, Love.
Each time these two award-winning actors star opposite each other itโs swoon-worthy; even just thinking about their star-crossed relationship in La La Land tugs at the heartstrings.
And it seems 29-year-old Stone feels that way too, during a Q&A session at the Telluride Film Festival where her new film The Favourite is screening, Entertainment Tonight reports she got quite emotional when talking about the Blade Runner 2049 star, calling Gosling a โdear, wonderful friend,โ and saying, โI canโt even imagine what my life would be without Ryan.โ
The Battle of the Sexes star gushed further, saying, โHeโs so special. It makes me emotional. Heโs so talented but heโs such a great person to work with because heโs so collaborative and excited about the process. Heโs taught me a lot about being really generous.โ
At the festival Stone was honoured for her outstanding work in film with a silver medal presented to her by La La Landโs Oscar-winning director, Damien Chazelle.
Chazelleโs new Ryan Gosling-starring film, First Man, had its first screening at the festival, however, Gosling wasnโt in attendance to hear all the delightful words Stone had to say about him. Entertainment Tonight reports the 37-year-old attended his motherโs wedding vow renewal ceremony instead.
In honour of one of the greatest on-screen couples in recent history, we round up some of Emma Stone and Ryan Goslingโs cutest on-screen moments.

As if we didnโt love him enough already, Queer Eye star Karamo Brown has used his platform to talk about the importance of mental health, revealing he tried to take his own life in 2006.
As the culture expert on the hit Netflix series Queer Eye, Brown is no stranger to changing peopleโs lives. Now heโs sharing his own story to help others.
In a powerful Instagram video, Brown, 37, revealed he was โin a very dark placeโ in 2006 and โfelt like life could not get any better.โ
โ[I felt like] everything that was happening to me was never going to change, and I tried to take my own life,โ he said, on the six-year anniversary of his suicide attempt.
Brown added that if his two friends hadnโt found him and called an ambulance, he โprobably would not be here today.โ
Talking to his 1.6 million followers, Brown shared a message of hope. โI know so many of us suffer from mental health issues and we just donโt know where to turn and every day it seems darker and darker. But I want you to know that things do get better. If you get help and you do the work daily, your life can change,โ he said. โIโm living proof of that.โ
As well as urging people to seek help, he encouraged us all to support others, saying, โIf you know someone in your life thatโs going through it, reach out to them. You could be their support.โ
Brown said he was overwhelmed at the positive response heโs had to the post. โAs a mental health professional I believe we all need to make our mental health a priority. There is a better day around the corner with support.โ
Preach it.

In Hailey Baldwinโs first interview since her 24-year-old Canadian singer-songwriter boyfriend, Justin Bieber, popped the question in July this year, the 21-year-old model gushed about the engagement saying sheโs โbeyond excitedโ.
Bieber put a (huge) ring on it when the couple were on holiday in tropical island paradise, the Bahamas, after a whirlwind romance of just a few weeks.
However, the 21-year-old model and Sorry singer have known each other for years and previously dated very briefly back in January 2016, when Bieber posted an image of them kissing on Instagram. They also attend the same church and have many mutual friends.
But, that hasnโt stopped the internet from trolling the couple about their upcoming nuptials, posting negative comments on everything from the speed of the engagement to whether theyโre mature enough to make such a big commitment and whether itโs just a publicity stunt. Unfortunately, the couple have provided haters with plenty of fuel for their online fire by doing things like riding push bikes around while crying and constant PDAs everywhere they go.
Baldwin, however, is not letting any of those trolls rain on her happy engagement parade saying in the interview with Stellar, โI donโt think itโs affected me really. I have learned to just try my best to ignore the negativity at this time so that I can enjoy this season of my life.โ
Which is good news, as this โseasonโ of her life โ the engagement โ could last quite a while with no official wedding date set yet and insiders reporting they have pumped the brakes on their wedding plans. People quotes a source as saying, โIt was getting quite intense and they realised they want to enjoy being engaged for a whileโฆItโs not like they need to rush โ they are both so young.โ

Keira Maguire is without a doubt one of the most colourful characters to emerge from the Bachelor franchise, and now that sheโs back on the market after her shock split with Jarrod Woodgate, she says sheโd be up to take on the role of Australiaโs next Bachelorette.
โJarrod broke Keiraโs heart โ she was picturing marriage and babies with this guy, and then he just dumped her!โ a source told NW.
โSo sheโs going to make sure she has the last laugh by looking for love on TV again, and reminding him of what he threw away.โ
And it might not be too far-fetched, with audiences warming to the outspoken blonde after her turn on Bachelor In Paradise.
โEveryone has discovered a sweeter side to Keira โ and more than ever they want her to have her happily ever after,โ added the source. โAnd thereโs no doubt that sheโs keen โ sheโs wanted this opportunity for so long!โ
Keira opened up to WHO about the split, clearing up any rumours about why their relationship didnโt work out.
โJarrod didnโt like the fact I didnโt have a full-time job,โ she told the magazine. โBecause my job was doing endorsements and heโs about working hard in a nine-to-five job.โ
โI never thought he would get up and leave me and thatโs what he did. He walked away from everything,โ Keira added.
Keira announced the split last week via Instagram, confirming that they had gone their separate ways after nine months together.
โIโm sorry if anyone is disappointed or I have let anyone down,โ a heartbroken Keira shared, before adding, โPlease respect our privacy as this is a very hard time for meโ.
Keira and Jarrod were together for nine months, emerged from BIP one of the strongest couples, and quickly moved in together and had even talked of marriage and babies.
The couple were an unlikely pairing, with Keira emerging as โthe villainโ on her season of The Bachelor with Richie Strahan while Jarrod was dubbed the โstage-five clingerโ when he became runner-up on The Bachelorette with Sophie Monk.

Ask the uber-talented Jennifer Lawrence to name a career-high and youโd expect her to mention her Oscar win or any one of her countless award-winning films.
But it was the chance to collaborate with Dior on a new fragrance โ their first in 20 years โ that marked a โmajor momentโ for the 28-year-old actress. And a personal one, too. โI remember my mom always wore Miss Dior and it was the first perfume I ever smelled; even today it gives me such warm memories.โ So when Lawrence received the call to visit Paris to meet Diorโs head perfumer, Francois Demachy, she brought along her mum, Karen. Fast-forward 12 months, and the collaboration is complete with todayโs release of Joy by Dior which joins Miss Dior and JโAdore in the French fashion houseโs iconic collection of fragrances.
Yet like everything the actress attaches her name to, authenticity was key. Lawrence not only visited the Paris laboratory to sample the many different notes, she decided with Demachy on the final juice โ a feminine fusion of florals, sandalwood and musk. โIt was a really cool experience to see the process and it feels so personal because Iโve been a part of it,โ she tells marie claire exclusively during the fragranceโs lavish launch in LA.
Shooting the mostly underwater advertising campaign (a couture-clad Lawrence was fixed with floaties and Styrofoam to stay submerged) was also very personal, allowing her to reunite with friend and filmmaker Francis Lawrence, who directed her in The Hunger Games and Red Sparrow. โHe knows me so well and was able to incorporate my personality into the film. Every smile, every laugh, everything was real.โ
Spend time with Lawrence and itโs impossible not to be impressed by her easy ability to eloquently swing between topics from politics and activism to couture and fragrance, all served with a sassy sense of humour. Which is why Dior approached Lawrence to be the spokesperson for Joy. โSheโs spontaneous, strong, full of life, glamorous, exctly what we wanted to convey in this fragrance,โ said Yann Musquin, marketing manager fragrances, Parfums Christian Dior. โThis scent is for any woman who wants to exude confidence, strength and femininity โ itโs for the modern woman, and Jennifer is a very, very modern woman.โ
Lawrenceโs connection to Dior goes back to 2010 when the luxury brand first asked her to join their stable of high-profile ambassadors, and now โevery monumental moment in my career and life has been in a Dior dressโ (including that famous Oscars tumble). In 2015, Lawrence extended her relationship with the Parisian fashion house, signing on as the face of Dior Beauty. And now that relationship comes full circle with the launch of Joy. โI feel like weโre a very close family at this point. Christian Dior created his first scent after World War II to make women feel happy and beautiful again, and weโre at that time again when we need to bring something joyous and happy-making back.โ
What gives Lawrence joy are simple pleasures: friends, laughter, TV, spaghetti, her dog Pippi, walks in the park, seasons, โwhen I wake up and I donโt have bags under my eyes; I remember those days โ I can count them on five fingers,โ she says, raising her hand and letting out that famed infectious laugh.
She also finds pleasure in Joy. โI love that itโs subtle from the moment you put it on. Itโs soft and beautiful and unlike anything else I have ever smelled.โ A new icon is born.
Joy by Dior is in store now.
Jennifer Lawrence talks feminism, film, friendships and fragrance in the October edition of Marie Claire, out Thursday.

What a busy week the A-list maternity wards had with not one but two celebrity babies arriving in the world over the past few days.
39-year-old Homeland star Claire Danes and husband Hugh Dancy welcomed a bouncing baby boy last week on Monday August 27 in New York reports People.
No news on the name yet, but the couple are already parents to five-year-old Cyrus Michael Christopher, so we can probably rule those three names out for the new baby given his older brother has taken them. The A-list couple have been married since 2009 and they currently live in the West Village of New York City.
A second congratulations goes to Bond, James Bond, aka Daniel Craig who has welcomed a baby girl with wife Rachel Weisz on September 1 The Daily Mailreports. This is the first child for the couple who married in a private ceremony in 2011.
Both Weisz and Craig have children from previous relationships โ 48-year-old Weisz has a son, 12-year-old Henry, with ex-fiancรฉ Darren Aronofsky and 50-year-old Craig has a daughter, 26-year-old Ella with his ex-wife, Fiona Loudon.

Last week we learned that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had taken the next step in their relationship by adding to their family with the addition of the four-legged kind.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly adopted a Labrador who is settling into life with the royal couple at their home in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.
โThe dog is already happily ensconced at their cottage,โ a source told the DailyMail.
And now we have a name for their newest family member, with royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith the Daily Mail, that the couple have named the dog Oz.
What inspired the name remains to be seen, but we canโt help but think itโs to do with their upcoming visit to Australia.
โLike the Sussexes, the dog will divide its time between the palace and their country home in the Cotswolds.โ
Meghan and Harry are following in Prince William and Kate Middletonโs footsteps, who adopted pup Lupo shortly after their wedding in 2011.

Before meeting Prince Harry, Meghan was already a fur mum to her beloved pooches Bogart and Guy, while Meghan flew beagle Guy over to London when she moved, it was thought that Bogart was too old to make the journey.
In her pre-royal life Meghan would often post photos of her โlovesโ on her blog and on Instagram.
