On a quest to find our significant other, most of us scan dance floors and dating apps.
But now a new study by HSBC UK reveals we may have been going about it all wrong.
Head to Webjet.com, because apparently one in 50 people meet their future partner on an aeroplane. Romcom worthy, much?
Despite well-directed fears of drooling on your neighbourโs shoulder, planes are actually a great place to strike up a conversation. Last month, โPlane Baeโ, the story of two strangers meeting onboard went viral (simultaneously stirring up debate about privacy in a digital age).
In addition, the study found that 16 per cent of passengers form a business connection mid-air, and that 14 per cent of us have made a long-lasting friendship.

A new study is stirring up the ongoing cardio versus weights debate, finding that the former could have greater benefits when it comes to boosting your metabolism.
In a study published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation, researchers from the University of Copenhagen analysed the diverse impacts of different forms of training. In an experiment, 10 healthy men were divided into two groups who did both forms of training once a week for 60 minutes. The cardio session involved cycling at a level of 70 percent maximum oxygen intake, while the strength training consisted of five functional exercises repeated 10 times.
The participants then had their blood tested over a period of four hours to measure blood sugar, lactic acid, various hormones and bile acid in the body. They discovered that sweating it out on exercise bike caused three times the amount of the hormoneFGF21 to be released by the body, compared to lifting weights. FGF21, or fibroblast growth factor 21, is a major metabolic regulator that plays a role in controlling glucose levels, insulin sensitivity and ketogenesis.
โEndurance training on a bicycle has such a marked effect on the metabolic hormone that we know ought to take a closer look at whether this regulation of FGF21 is directly related to the health-improving effects of cardio exercise,โ said the studyโs co-author Christoffer Clemmensen.
โFGF21โs potential as a drug against diabetes, obesity and similar metabolic disorders is currently being tested, so the fact that we are able to increase the production ourselves through training is interesting.โ
Your metabolic rate is depends on a range of factors including hormones, sleep, diet, sex, genetics and age. Increasing yourmetabolism can be beneficial, as it boosts the amount of calories you burn at rest, which can help promote weight loss.
โHIIT is always going to be the stronger, most effective opponent to burn fat and build lean muscles because of its after-burn effect,โ Tiffiny Hall told Womenโs Health. โIโm talking the EPOC (Exercise Post Oxygen Consumption) responseโฆ It means you keep burning off calories and energy even when youโre back at your desk staring at a spreadsheet, long after your last shine session. It means all of that huffing and puffing and changing and starting and stopping during your workout kicks your metabolism into high gear for hours after you finish exercising.โ
What about the old adage โmuscle burns more than fatโ? Research shows that roughly half a kilo of muscle burns between seven to 10 calories per day while the equivalent of fat only burns two to three. Not a huge difference in the grand scheme of things.
But by no means does this mean you should ditch the dumbbells. A huge range of research promotes the benefits of resistance training which include the prevention or control of chronic conditions like diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, back pain, depression and obesity, reducing risk of cancer, reducing risk of osteoporosis, boosting mental health and improving sleep.
โGaining muscle through resistance exercise means you can do more. You can work out harder and hike steeper trails,โ sports dietitian Marie Spano told SELF. โThis will lead to an increase in calories burned. Now, thatโs significant.โ
โItโs not about doing one OR the other, itโs about one complimenting the other to bring you results,โ Tiffiny adds.
So like everything in life, balance is key. Ensure your weekly workout routine includes a bit of HIIT, some weights and a little stretching to reap the best possible benefits for your health.

On Wednesday, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped out on a duke and duchess date night to watch a special performance of Hamilton.
All eyes were on the Duchess of Sussex who wore her riskiest royal look to date: a stunning black suit mini dress by Canadian brand, Judith and Charles.
Meghan accessorised the look with black pumps, a gold clutch, and her hair pulled back into her signature bun.
But it was the 37-year-oldโs legs that caught everyoneโs attention, which were totally bare, no nude pantyhose in sight.
Per royal protocol, women are always supposed to wear pantyhose for public appearances. Meghan has been adhering to the rule since officially marrying into the royal family on May 19th and her sister-in-law Kate Middleton is never photographed without nude stockings on.
โYou never see a royal without their nude stockings. I would say thatโs really the only hard, steadfast rule in terms of what the Queen requires,โ royal expert Victoria Arbiter told Insider last year.
However, others are saying that while the Queen and Duchess of Cambridge do opt to wear nude stockings on most occasions, itโs not an official rule put in place by Her Royal Highness.
โThere are no rules for royal women regarding pantyhose. While most women (royal or commoner) wear pantyhouse with suits or gowns for a good slim line, it is not required by any decree from the Queen,โ royal expert Marlene Koenig told BAZAAR.com.
Pantyhose or not, we think Meghanโs first post-royal LBD is perfection.

Despite barely spending any time with Nick Cummins, not really hanging out with any of the other women in the house, and not having much time for the producersโ questions, Australia fell in love with Bachelor contestant Vanessa Sunshine.
Vanessaโs approach to the downright crazy premise of the dating show โ you know, casually locking 20 women in a house to fight over a man โ was so refreshing that viewers labelled the 27-year-old a national hero and some even called for her to be next seasonโs Bachelorette.
Below, we chat to the Melbourne-based legal secretary โ who laughs a lot more than youโd expect โ about what really went down at last nightโs rose ceremony, how she feels about Romy, Cat and Alisha now, and her picks for Nickโs final three.
Firstly, I just want to say that the whole office loved how straight-up you were the whole way through the show. How was it watching yourself on TV?
Thank you! Oh, you know in the first episode there was a bit of creative editing and I was like โwhyyyโ [laughs], but it is what it is and for the most part, it is how things go down. Obviously, any moments where Iโm actually laughing or smiling clearly never made it to air!
Did the ending really go down like that? without you saying goodbye to the other girls?
Omg, no. Last night all the girls were messaging me about it. Thatโs not how it happened, I did not stand there for a full minute like a mute. I was very calm and collected about it, I walked up to Nick and said โI hope you find whatever and whoever it is youโre looking forโ and then went back and hugged all the girls, except for Romy.
Obviously, you didnโt have time to fall in love with Nick, but in the time that you did spend with him, did you see potential?
Um, no. Nick is a lovely guy, but heโs just not the right person for me and Iโm not the right person for him and thatโs okay.
Romy, Cat and Alisha have been portrayed as bullies on TV, but in real-life were things less intense or more intense?
Yeah, what youโre seeing is not even half of what went down. They really are like that. To me, I think that that behaviour is disgusting. Cat, Romy and Alisha get their self-worth and self-validation by belittling, degrading and bullying other people and thatโs what it is at the end of the day, itโs bullying. Iโm someone whoโs very particular, in my normal life, about who Iโll associate with and theyโre just people Iโd never spend time with. Even if I didnโt like someone, Iโd never go out of my way to attack someone and their physical attributes.
I hated how Shannon tried to stick up to them and they totally twisted her words and made her sound like a crazy person
I think the term is โgaslightingโ and theyโre pretty damn good at it.
As far as Brooke goes, sheโs been singled out as a frontrunner from episode one, did you girls have a feeling she had a strong connection with Nick from theget-go?
I mean, did you see my group date?! [Laughs]. Yes, definitely, I do think they have a connection.
Was Cass really as intense as producers are making her out to be?
Obviously, Nick and Cass have a history and thatโs their business. I think itโs a little unfair the way that itโs coming across for her. Sheโs such a sweet beautiful, young girl and she doesnโt deserve to be made look like that. Itโs just not fair, sheโs just trying to fight for this person who she has real feelings for. And you watched last night, Nick obviously does have feelings for her. Sheโs still there, sheโs still being given roses, and Nick wouldnโt โ well, I hope he wouldnโt โ keep her there if it wasnโt a mutual feeling.
I think thatโs the hard part about watching it, every woman has had those feelings for a guy, but itโs just not edited and broadcast all over TV
Exactly, surely everyone has been there. Sheโs such a sweetheart and you can imagine how crappy that must have felt for her. I figured out very early that there was a history between her and Nick, but I never brought it up and Iโd never mention it to the other girls โ thatโs like throwing a lamb to the wolves.
Do you still talk to any of the women from the show?
I still chat to quite a few. Dasha and Tenille, Em sent me a message last night. Britt and Sophie messaged me last night, Brooke just sent me a message. Iโve had coffee with Shannon. I did make friends in the house, itโs very hard in that environment because you do pick your people โ in the house, I really just hung out with Dasha and Tenille. But now that the show is playing out, and people are seeing how I was when I was talking to the producers alone, the girls are kinda like โoh, sheโs not in there saying bad or negative things.โ

If you canโt stand the sight of another Breton stripe, youโve come to the right place: Gary Bigeni, one of Australiaโs most exuberantly eclectic fashion designers, is all for women embracing their unique sense of style.
But before you pack up all your black and bin those ubiquitous striped tees, take note: embracing bold pattern and colour in your everyday outfits is all about integrating it with the pieces you already wear and love.
โThe Gary Bigeni look is about me trying to introduce some fun into womenโs wardrobes,โ the man himself tells style influencer Jasmin Howell as part of the FIAT 500 Fashion Files (watch their video interview above). โStart with a bright nail polish or ease in with bold accessories and gradually work your way up to a pair of pants or a statement top โ it doesnโt always have to be head-to-toe.โ
Gary Bigeni and Jasmin Howell
As he shares sketches from his upcoming Resort collection over a pot of tea in an inner Sydney cafรฉ, Bigeniโs style reveals itself: think swathes of vibrant silks sprinkled with polka dots; fluidly draping off-the-shoulder dresses and balloon-sleeve tops; lashings of coral, hot pink and vivid orange; and ruffles and bows aplenty.
Since he established his eponymous label in 2003, Bigeni has become synonymous with sophisticated silhouettes and statement prints that have women all over the country โ and increasingly, abroad โ clamouring to wear them. โThereโs a lot of colour and print to play with,โ he concedes, โBut the silhouettes are sleek and clean. I like to have something that everyone can relate to.โ
While some of his pieces may look on the loud side, the trick is in how you style them. Take his eye-catching off-the-shoulder tie tops with balloon sleeves, which Bigeni recommends teaming with a pair of slim jeans or wide-leg pants to anchor all that boldness.
As for his dream woman to dress? Somewhat surprisingly, itโs the singer Grimes. โSheโs so unique in her work and what she chooses to do, and I like women who love a challenge,โ he says.
If our next challenge is to introduce some of his jaw-droppingly gorgeous designs into our everyday wardrobes, then we accept.

On last nightโs episode of The Bachelor, we saw Nick โThe Honey Badgerโ Cummins take Rhiannon on her first single date in a hot-air balloon, tensions between Romy and (absolute hero) Vanessa Sunshine continue to rise, and an outdoor-themed group date.
In a surprise twist, the overnight camping trip was to end in a rose ceremony, with only five girls going back to the mansion from six.

The Bachelorโs Vanessa Sunshine is speaking out after Nick โHoney Badgerโ Cummins sent the 27-year-old Victorian home on episode six of the reality show. Vanessa took to Instagram to reveal how she really felt about Nick, and she did not hold back.
โIโm going to be extremely blunt, I will never ever put someone on a pedestal who hasnโt earned the right to be there,โ the legal secretary shared. โMy approach was a wild card, youโre used to watching women automatically fall for The Bachelor and scramble to profess their feelings, vying to be the last one standing to claim their (man) prize. Obviously, I was a different kind of woman thrown into the mix this season.โ
Vannessa added, โIf my experience has shown just one person thatโs itโs ok to be completely yourself, to back yourself, not put up with bullshit and stay true to you when faced with adversity, then for me everything was worth it. I am so grateful for this experience Nick just simply wasnโt the person for me.โ

Last nightโs episode of The Bachelor saw the country get a new national hero, Vanessa Sunshine, saw Romy once again be inappropriate, โit was a real kissโ, and saw Cass finally come out on top, yes, girl.
Below, we count down the most hilarious tweets of the night.
I am LIVING for all these bitches making fun of Vanessa Sunshine and her just absolutely demolishing them by putting up her tent before them, perfectly, IN HEELS #TheBachelorAU
LET'S TALK ABOUT HOW INAPPROPRIATE THIS WOULD BE IF NICK SNUCK INTO ONE OF THE GIRLS' SWAGS. LEARN SOME BOUNDARIES FOR GODS SAKE. THIS IS NOT OKAY #TheBachelorAU

On tonightโs episode of The Bachelor, Nick took Rhiannon on a sunrise hot air balloon ride where she basically frets the whole time about kissing him and he frets the whole time about them not having chemistry, before the producers take her away for a private โ AKA weโre secretly recording and going to play this on national TV โ conversaton.
Next up, a bunch of the women went on a group date, including Vanessa Sunshine in heels (this seasonโs hero), Cass (this seasonโs Jarrod) and Romy (this seasonโsโฆ Romy).
Romy tells Nick that Vanessa doesnโt find him physically attractive, and when Nick checks the facts with Vanessa, he finds that, yes, thatโs true.
Nevertheless, Sunshine assured him sheโs there for the right reasons and they head off for a bonfire.
During the night, Romy decides to switch tents, surprising the Honey Badger. In true 7:30pm TV slot fashion, all we heard was a bit of giggling, before it cut to the next morning and a very frazzled Cass.
But after Nick takes Cass away for their first one-on-one time, we see the start of a significant plot twist: Nick seems really into her, saying he can totally relax around her and that his feelings are progressing in the right direction.
As Romy said when they returned looking loved-up, maybe Cass will get her happy ending after all.
The group date ends with a surprise rose ceremony, with one of the six women being sent home. Naturally, after telling the Honey Badger she wasnโt into him, Vanessa Sunshine left the building/forest.

Despite Bachelor contestant Cass Wood being dubbed a stage-five clinger early on (the diary didnโt help, letโs be honest). In the biggest plot twist of the series, it looks like the blonde rugby-playing bombshell might have turned things around.
Both Brittany and Brooke have been rumoured winners from the start with viewers pleading for Nick to let Cass down gently, but tonight we saw the Honey Badgerโs real feelings as he said he feels comfortable and can be himself with the 23-year-old.
Another clue that Cass wins? Her brother and sister both started following Nick on Instagram in May, when filming of the show wrapped, reports the Daily Mail.
Naturally, if Cass didnโt win the show, youโd assume her family wouldnโt be wanting to follow the Bachie and his new leading lady on social mediaโฆ
We guess only time will tell how Nick and Cassโ love story plays out, but we will say one thing: you go, girl.

First, there was cold brew coffee hair, then glass hair and now, thereโs a new Instagram inspired hairstyle that the fashion set is obsessed with. Introducing toasted coconut hair. Not only a delicious addition to granola and smoothie bowls, toasted coconut is also a chic hue.
What exactly is toasted coconut hair?
Technically speaking, the term is used to describe tresses with dark brown roots that subtly fade into a light platinum blonde colour through the mid-lengths and ends. A variation on last seasonโs bronde trend, toasted coconut is the 2018 way to melt brown and blonde shades together.
Naturally dark hair. American-based colourist Ami Rexroth told Allure that brunettes are the best candidates, adding that itโs a low-maintenance way to add bright tones. Plus, โyou wonโt have to worry about root touch-ups because the look will just become toastier, if you will, as your hair grows.โ

Whatโs the best piece of career advice youโve ever received?
The best piece of advice I received was to be curious, be courageous and be authentically you. Believing in yourself and aspiring to greatness will help you create your version of success. Do not be limited by othersโ expectations; to lead you need to be true to your values and your leadership style.
Whatโs the biggest challenge youโve faced as a woman at a senior level in the workforce?
One of the biggest challenges I faced earlier on in my career it was finding my voice โ how could I influence as both a leader and as an individual? Over time I developed my approach to influence and what I discovered was that my natural curiosity and active listening style was my greatest strength when working with others. When people work together without ego, and with a desire to learn and achieve, great things happen. Through developing trust, strong working relationships, and clarity in goals โ influencing flows both ways.
Whatโs the best piece of career advice youโve ever received?
Iโve received many pieces of advice over the years and the common theme is that achievement doesnโt happen overnight. You must practice and master a wide range of skills, and that requires resilience and perseverance. It wonโt be smooth sailing every day, but you canโt let those bad days hold you back from your long-term goals.
Whatโs the biggest challenge youโve faced as a woman at a senior level in the workforce?
At THE ICONIC, weโre fortunate to work in an environment that truly supports gender equality and allows people to grow and develop their careers. Last year I had the opportunity to move into my current role after 20 years in finance โ that was rather scary and exciting at the same time as changing careers is a big step. That has tested both my intellect and mental strength, but Iโm a bit of a magnet for challenges!
Mareile Osthus
Mareile Osthus, Chief Category Management Officer
Whatโs the best piece of career advice youโve ever received?
The most useful piece of advice I received was basically on day one of my career, and that was: Donโt wait for things to happen, make them happen yourself. I truly believe that having an idea of what you want to achieve in life (whether you know the answer now or not) is the key driver for all our achievements in the end. The impossible is sometimes possible, youโve just to have the drive and determination to start somewhere.
Whatโs the biggest challenge youโve faced as a woman at a senior level in the workforce?
Iโm lucky enough to have never had any specific challenges in the workplace directly related to my gender. This might be controversial to say, but I believe when you start thinking about having challenges because you are a woman, you are at risk of facilitating a divide. Everyone Iโve ever worked for โ man or woman โ believed in my potential as a person and not as a woman, and I have the same philosophy. I realise this may not be the case for everyone, but having confidence in yourself is the starting point of overcoming any gender discussion.
Nicolle Strauss
Nicolle Strauss, Chief People And Culture Officer
Whatโs the best piece of career advice youโve ever received?
Donโt stay too long in a job or a company if you are unhappy or are not being valued to your full potential. Youโve only got one life to live and the world is a big place, so go find the right opportunities. I know easier said than done because you need to have incredibly strong internal belief, supportive friends, families, networks, social and economic circumstances to do this, but anything is possible if you stay true to what you really want.
Whatโs the biggest challenge youโve faced as a woman at a senior level in the workforce?
โBeing looked over for opportunities, assuming I wouldnโt be interested or have the time/drive for bigger roles because I have a family. In saying this, Iโm thankful that Iโve been lucky enough for this to be a rarity as I have received incredible support throughout my career, but itโs certainly a challenging experience when you do face such issues.
Zoe Ghani
Zoe Ghani, Chief Technology Officer
What is the best piece of career advice ever received?
Iโve been lucky enough to receive great advice from great people throughout my career. One example that comes to mind, which ended up being a key turning point and common thread in my leadership journey is that itโs all about the people and not the tasks we are trying to accomplish. What I have learned is that you need to hire and retain amazing people, and through that create an environment where people can flourish. You need to provide people with clarity and the right tools, while helping to clear obstacles from their path, so they can come up with the best ways to accomplish both their professional and personal goals.
What is the biggest challenge youโve faced as a woman in senior level in the workplace?
When I first started in the working world, I was really reserved and found it difficult to share my thoughts and ideas openly. In my first leadership role I realised quickly that holding back is not going to get you anywhere. I realised that if I didnโt speak up โ especially if a lot was at stake โ a great idea might go untried, my teamโs perspective may not be taken into account or an important priority would be affected. Over the years I have come to focus on sharing my views because as you move into more senior roles, so too comes greater responsibility of speaking up. I have established my own way of doing this โ for me and in most situations itโs about listening first and then sharing my thoughts, and especially the thoughts of my team who may not be in the room. I believe better ideas are born from healthy debate between different people with different views. It is also healthy to ignite a conflict conversation when a topic is not being discussed when it should be. So speak up and be heard!

Death, taxes and the Kardashians. Some things are impossible to avoid for a 21st-century woman. And another thing: the near-daily discussion of our biological clocks. Tick tock, tick tock. Weโre faced with an onslaught of stats, studies and stories warning us that our childbearing days are numbered.
โYouโre not getting any younger,โ mutters your crotchety great aunt. โA womanโs fertility starts to decline at 22,โ proclaims a new study. โA-list star shares her fertility nightmare!โ shouts the media.
Yet now, amid reports of historically low birthrates in Australia, thereโs been a call to teach fertility classes in high schools around the country. Dr Howard Smith, medical director of Westmead Fertility Centre, believes that both men and women (or boys and girls) need to be better educated about โlife planningโ. โAge is by far the biggest contributor to infertility,โ he told The Daily Telegraph this week.
Of course knowledge is power, and men and women alike need to be aware of the realities of reproduction โ and our limitations. (Yes weโre working harder and settling down later than ever before, but no, you are not going to get pregnant at 54, like actress/model Brigitte Nielsen.)
But still, youโd have to have been living under an egg-shaped rock to miss the fertility memo.
Like so much of the rhetoric surrounding women and their wombs, the call for high school fertility education falls wide of the mark, minimising the issue to a couple of cringy sex ed classes and a two-digit number (though the juryโs still out on the golden age to conceive: 31? 28? 25?)
Of all the mothers I know, a circle of women traversing age brackets, sexual persuasions and professions, starting a family was not a neatly scheduled appointment, but a rich jumble of life and circumstance. Never did I hear: โMy partner and I are working hard so weโve decided to wait until weโre 40 โ and weโll have IVF as a back-up.โ Rather, babies came about when they were lucky enough to find themselves in a loving, committed relationship, when both partners felt ready, and when biology (or assisted reproductive technology) worked in their favour.
EXCLUSIVE: AUSTRALIAโS birthrate has fallen so dramatically that experts have called for the introduction of โfertility classesโ at high school. Teenagers would be taught about the dangers of leaving it too late in life to fall pregnant. Via @RoseBrennan12https://t.co/QE4jxeM5Eq
As a recent study in the Journal of Psychosomatic Obstetrics and Gynecology revealed, most women who freeze their eggs arenโt doing it to further their career, theyโre doing it because they need more time to find a suitable mate โ to avoid whatโs been dubbed โpanic partneringโ.
I think I first became aware of my so-called biological clock in my twenties, probably via a bad Katherine Heigl romcom. Had I been taught about it in my teens, would it have made any difference to my life now? Not a smidge. Would it have made me rush to start popping them out with the prince I was seeing in my โprimeโ? A 25-year-old with a drug conviction and a mum who still did his washing? Thankfully not.
But Iโm intrigued to find out how fertility education would be taught in high schools. Tutoring randy teenage boys on how difficult it really is to conceive โ โForget condoms! A girl can actually only fall pregnant a couple of days each monthโ โ seems counterproductive, so the lessons would no doubt fall to the girls. And arenโt they already under enough pressure? School work, social media, not getting pregnant โฆ getting pregnant.
If we (misguidedly) believe our slowing population growth is solely the byproduct of ambitious career women โleaving it too lateโ, there are myriad ways we could give birthrates a boost: longer maternity and paternity leave, flexible working hours, on-site childcare, equal pay โฆ
Or, we could look at the role men play in the fertility (or infertility) discussion. Of course there are many exceptions to the rule, but generally speaking, our culture glorifies โthe bachelorโ (and not the one who hands out roses on Channel Ten, for a change). A bucks party is seen as โthe endโ, and commitment is something โ at least during blokey banter โ to be feared. Perhaps if we created a curriculum for men on how to man up and settle down, weโd experience a baby boom.
Hereโs the thing: fertility is an unknown quantity. Nobody knows who has it and who doesnโt. Implying that itโs within our control can be damaging and painful for those unable to have a baby โ via biology or social circumstance ยญโ as well as those who simply donโt want to.
Fertility cannot be taught. Letโs not make it a class for women to pass or fail.

Forget about wanting a quiet life โ it wonโt happen soon. During the nextyearyouโre swept along by high drama, with very little time for rest. This turns out to be a mixed blessing. On the onehandyouโre encouraged to do what you do well, and such confidence can only be a positive. But having this much licence gives your less responsible side free reign. The trick lies in balancing the two. That means dividing your time more evenly between work and play. The only limiting factor is a potential financial hiccup in November. But as long as you treat others fairly, your affairs should soar.
Aries (March 21 โ April 20)
Best Day: Tuesday 4th
Your lust for life can occasionally run over-budget and right now youโre probably picking up the tab for either your own โ or someone elseโs, enthusiasm. And thereโs nothing like financial woes to try a relationship. At work, should unexpected changes lead to new territory, donโt fret. Just donโt try to beat the system by takingshortcuts.
Taurus (April 21 โ May 20)
Best Day: Wednesday 5th
Your mind is on the move, and the change looks positive. Basically, it comes down to trusting your instincts and acting on them quickly. For many, this will mean new work or retraining. And why not take a chance on love? After all, hereโs a week when your natural charisma is all but irresistible. Thereโs a direct link between business and pleasure.
Gemini (May 21 โ June 21)
Best Day: Friday 31st
This weekโs focus is on teamwork, and by co-operating with others โ you should achieve much more than usual. Do your best to resolvelong standingproblems, but avoid putting others on a pedestal; remember, the higher they are โ the further they have to fall. A potential lover becomes a best friend instead.
Cancer (June 22 โ July 22)
Best Day: Sunday 2nd
Money and assets remain niggling needs, but thereโs nothing like feeling the pinch to prompt ingenuity. Chances are youโve been putting off the inevitable and not feeling good about it. Result: the week throws you some lessons in prudence and building resources. The downside? Excessive focus on finances could rob romance of its enchantment.
Leo (July 23 โ August 23)
Best Day: Monday 3rd
More recently, work has seemed more like a war zone and youโre tired of petty politics. Whatโs more, youโre angry. This week, however, encourages restraint. Thatโs not to say that you should let others take you for granted โ just donโt let themtohijack your hard work by losing your temper. Stay calm, and youโll be the one reaping the rewards.
Virgo (August 24 โ September 22)
Best Day: Saturday 1st
Itโs a self-confidentweek,when you act on your own initiative without seeking approval elsewhere. Work regains priority. The planets also boost intellectual vigour and even if it does manifest in the form of an occasional challenge โ itโs no drama. You enjoy giving the old neurons a bit of a run. When presented with different options, act quickly.
Libra (September 23 โ October 23)
Best Day: Sunday 2nd
Your mindโs racing and your pulseispacing. There are a million things to do, with each one vying forprimeposition. Fortunately, this week is feeling energetic. Sure, thereโll be some challenging moments โ but youโre primed to set off a reaction that holds the promise of pleasure and prosperity. If this brings in extra cash โ spend it. Guilt free.
Scorpio (October 24 โ November 22)
Best Day: Friday 31st
Scorpios seldom suffer a loss of ambition but maybe itโs time to pass the baton to someone else for a while. This is a week for catching up on things that arenโt all that important and for paying attention to more pleasurable desires. Basically, the cosmos suggests a touch of hedonism, if thatโs what it takes to balance you out.
Sagittarius (November 23 โ December 21)
Best Day: Tuesday 4th
Sagittarians take time this week to explore their psyches. Ambitions are challenged as you wonder how much effort theyโre really worth. You assume greater responsibility and therefore start to discard material matters that no longer appeal. Itโs not that life has lost its glow โ quite the opposite, as your spiritual integrity shines through.
Capricorn (December 22 โ January 20)
Best Day: Thursday 6th
Itโs ridiculous for you to get down on yourself when there are so many people who look up to you. A quick glance at your astrological chart suggests that itโs overloaded emotions that are at fault. Thereโs so much happening, Capricorn. But people genuinely admire you and your work. If they can see how great you are, why canโt you?
Aquarius (January 21 โ February 18)
Best Day: Saturday 1st
If on the attack, Aquarians fire first and ask questions later. Sometimes, however, you can be just a tad too quick off the mark. This week check all facts before marching into battle โ as someone could be planning an ambush. Faulty relationships may topple; new romance looks set to flourish โ great news if youโre back on the singles scene.
Pisces (February 19 โ March 20)
Best Day: Monday 3rd
If I say thereโs change on the way, promise not to run? While things may flow a tad too swiftly for your liking, youโll soon get the hang of it. Perhaps youโre being asked to retrain, or take an unexpected detour? Whatever happens, know that the heavens are steering you in the right direction. Follow your dreams, Pisces. The time is right.

Most new parents are aware of the early warning signs of postpartum depression (feelings of anger, anxiety, guilt and hopelessness to name but a few.) But as Chrissy Teigen knows first-hand, the timing isnโt always so clear cut.
Speaking with Yahoo Lifestyle, the actress and model revealed that it wasnโt until a few months after her daughter Luna arrived back in 2016 that she first started feeling the symptoms.
When asked if she was experiencing the condition the second time around (Miles was born in May), she admitted she was still waiting to see.
โThatโs what Iโm still wondering now, honestly,โ she said. โIโm three months out with Miles. And when I hit that point with Luna, it was at this time. Around three months.โ
And while postpartum depression has become more widely talked about in recent times, many of us donโt realise that the effects can be delayed.
โI think what people donโt know is that sometimes it takes time to kick in,โ Chrissy said. โYou just donโt know whatโs gonna happen. I donโt know what next week is gonna be like. You take it day by day.โ
But thanks to her previous experience, Chrissy feels way more prepared for baby number two.
โI feel like at least now if it does happen, Iโll know it upon the first time I feel it. Rather than wondering for so long why I was feeling like that.โ
According to the National Institute of Mental Health, PPD most commonly begins between a week and month and a month post-childbirth, with 15 per cent of women affected. That said, it can occur anytime in the first year after having a baby.
โIt is not always obvious and often at first many mothers put how they are feeling down to tiredness and adjusting to parenthood, therefore sometimes not realising that they could be developing postnatal depression,โ midwife Kate Pinney told The Independent.
โIt is really important for any parent experiencing changes in their mood to seek support and talk to someone, whether that be their GP, midwife or health visitor.โ

On top of preventing disease, increasing physical fitness, improving mental health, boosting the immune system and bettering sleep, new research is adding to the already extensive list of health benefits your local park provides. A study, published in the International Journal of Hygiene and Environmental Health, has found that living near urban green areas is linked to a lowered risk of breast cancer.
Researchers analysed the surrounding environment of 1129 women with breast cancer and 1619 without breast cancer, as well as factors like lifestyle, age, socioeconomic status and education of participants. They found that while living close to green spaces like parks and gardens was linked to a reduced risk of breast cancer, living near agricultural areas was associated with an increased risk of breast cancer. This suggests that how the green space is used is significant.
โOther studies have shown that the mechanisms that might explain the health benefits of green spaces include higher levels of physical activity in the population and a reduction in air pollution, an environmental hazard clearly linked to the onset of cancer. However, we did not observe these associations,โ study coordinator Mark Nieuwenhuijsen said.
โWe believe that other mechanisms โ including lower levels of stress among people living close to green spaces โ could play a role.โ
Another factor to consider next time youโre house huntingโฆ

Since the debut of the Netflix already cult film, To All The Boys Iโve Loved Before, Noah Centineo (AKA Peter Kazinsky) has captured the hearts of thousands, we dare say even millions, and has easily become Hollywoodโs newest heartthrob.
After all, the break-out star did gain a million Instagram followers in one day. As you do.
While everyone anxiously awaits for the confirmation of a highly anticipated sequel, we have good news in the meantime: the 22-year-old will be starring in yet another Netflix rom-com, Sierra Burgess Is a Loser, which premieres next week.
The film is a modern day take on of Edmond Rostandโs 1897 play Cyrano de Bergerac and follows the story of high school student Sierra Burgess who is โ you guessed it โ labelled a loser.
In an unexpected sequence of events, Sierra finds herself caught up in an unanticipated romance when a case of mistaken identity occurs.
So where does Noah come in?
The handsome heartthrob plays the romantic lead who falls for Sierra while under the impression she is the most popular girl in school.

Last nightโs episode of The Bachelor saw Nick โHoney Badgerโ Cummins take Sophie Tieman (who, by the way, is the showโs rumoured winner) on her first single date, as well as Brooke Badger, sorry, we mean Brooke Blurton, spend one-on-one time with the Cumminsโ family.
But of course, weโre only here for one thing: the cocktail party dresses and where to shop them.
Below, all the links to your new life as a bachelorette.

We caught up with P.E. teacher Blair, themost recently eliminated contestant from The Bachelor Australia. Best known as the straight-shooter who stood up to the Mean Girls,AKA Romy, Alicia and Cat. Here, the 27-year-old is opening up about the real drama in the Bachie mansion and revealing who she thinks will win Nick Cumminsโ heartโฆ
Were the โmean girlsโ in the house really that nasty in real life?
โTo begin with they were quite nice. I actually shared a room with Romy, so we were close in the first week. They all exaggerated the Mean Girls personas for the cameras. I was closest with Sophie, Brittany Cassie. We were always very supportive.โ
Cassie is really having a tough time, how much did you really know about her relationship with Nick?
โLook, we all knew there was more to Cassieโs backstory but we didnโt ask her too many questions. She did struggle a bit but itโs not a normal situation to be in so we wanted to be there for her rather than interrogate her abouther relationship with Nick.
Do you have any regrets from your time on the show?
โI wish I got to go on a single date, thatโs really the only way for Nick to get to know you. You canโt expect to develop feelings in group settings, and you donโt get to grow those feelings.โ

A Perth mum is being accused of slave labour after putting up an ad asking for someone to help her move house.
The mum claimed she was in the process of moving house and needed someone to help her move every day.
Though she didnโt specify the length of employment, she did says that the person would be paid $500 for every 20 days of helpโฆ thatโs just $4 per hour when the current minimum wage in Australia is $18.43.
In the job post, shared by The Daily Mail, the woman asks for the employee to transfer belongings from her current home to her new home, plus vacuum, dishes, folding laundry โ โbut nothing that you wouldnโt do in your own family/house.โ
The person โmust be hardworking, clean and have attention to details, get the work done in a timely manner, punctual, good positive attitude, honest.โ
โSo this woman is offering somebody $4 per hour to be her personal slave,โ a person wrote on Facebook.
โI was making more in 1983 as a 12-year-old,โ another commented.
Others questioned why the move would take 20 days (at least) and suggested the woman might be sneakily trying to hire a cheap cleaner for the new and old house.

When Kim and Kanyeโs daughter North West turned one, they threw her a Kidchella-themed birthday party; complete with a Ferris wheel, karaoke stage and designer flower crowns. For Blue Ivyโs first birthday, Beyoncรฉ and Jay Z gifted their daughter a custom-made $80,000 diamond encrusted Barbie (and spent $2,400 on her cake). And at Harper Beckhamโs first birthday party, Victoria and David reportedly hired special dyed-pink rabbits to match the pink balloons and cupcakes.
Unlike her fellow celebrities, tennis champion Serena Williams will not be throwing an elaborate party for her daughter Olympiaโs first birthday on the weekend.
At a press conference earlier this week, Williams explained she and husband Alexis Ohanian would not be celebrating on September 1 because it goes against their religious beliefs as Jehovahโs Witnesses.
A reported asked: โIs there a birthday party planned [for Olympia]?โ And Williams replied, โOlympia doesnโt celebrate birthdays. Weโre Jehovahโs Witnesses so we donโt do that.โ
Jehovahโs Witnesses believe God is the Creator and Supreme Being and his son Jesus Christ rules invisibly from heaven using โsigns.โ They do not celebrate birthdays, Christmas, Easter or other holidays โ and they remain politically neutral.
Williams has spoken about her religion in the past, telling Vogue US, โBeing a Jehovahโs Witness is important to me, but Iโve never really practiced it and have been wanting to get into it. Alexis didnโt grow up going to any church, but heโs really receptive and even takes the lead. He puts my needs first.โ

Chrissy Teigenis known to speak her mind. But despite typically calling out wrongdoings โ withDonald Trump actually blocking her on Twitter for her jokesโ she just as frequently speaks out to praise.
That was proved this week as the 32-year-old took to her social media channels to praiseupcomingfilm,Crazy Rich Asiansโ predicted to be a box office smash hit.
Crazy Rich Asiansisone of the most talked about films of the year and it hasnโt even hit the cinemas yet, with the film making headlines for its Asian representation, an element where other films have previously fallen short.
The model, whose mother is Thai, took her two-year-old daughter Luna to the cinema see the film, going on to release an emotional post about the impact it had on the two of them.
โWhat can I really say about this movie that hasnโt been said by absolutely everyone who has seen it,โ Chrissy began her post. โIโve been excited to see this since production was announced but I could have never imagined how wonderful it would be.โ
She continued: โI planned on seeing it, making a few jokes about how it checked all the boxes for me (CRAZYโ๏ธRICHโ๏ธASIANSโ๏ธ) but the feeling I got during the credits, watching John dance with my little black asian mashup baby bear luna tunes, was a feeling I havenโt had at the end of any other movies. Luna, aside from being blown away by the general movie-going experience (yep sheโs 13 now, time flies) looked up at @constancewuโs mother and yelled โyฤy!โ (โGrandmaโ in thai) because she saw someone who looked like her yฤy. Someone beautiful and aspirational. It was something that simple that made my heart justโฆwarm. That made me happy.โ
โIt made me happy to see this over the top story done from so many angles, some I could totally understand because of my own confusing Asian American upbringing,โ she went on. โI loved it all, from the quieter moments of talking around the table of sacrifice and past hardships to the spectacle of the bachelor party. Finding that I could cry watching the most over the top aisle walk on the planet.โ
โYou never know how much you miss being represented on screen until you actually see what itโs like to be represented. And represented by all different types of characters with all different types of personalities, just like any other great movie. Also aside from all that, itโs just colourful, fun and big as fuck.โ
โGod I love a rom-com,โ Chrissy concluded. โGod I loved it all. Thank you guys for making this movie.โ

While the gap is slowly decreasing โ currently 14.6 per cent, down from 15.3 per cent in 2017 โ itโs not moving fast enough: at this rate, it will be another 100 years before women are paid the same as their male counterparts.
As part of our ongoing campaign, this year we thought weโd offer you a little sweetener:marieclaireis bringing together 30 of your favourite brands to offer a discount equal to the pay gap percentage for the duration of Equal Pay Day, this Friday, August 31st.
Youโll receive 15 per cent off brands including Cue, Veronika Maine, Dion Lee, The Iconic, Sass & Bide, Alice McCall, Ginger & Smart, Manning Cartell, Parlour X, Peter Alexander, One Teaspoon, Jac + Jack, Spell & The Gypsy Collective, Napoleon Perdis, Benefit, The Daily Edited, SENSO, Fashion BNKR, Stylerunner, Hard To Find, First Base, Glamazon, Wittner, Senso, My Chameleon, SAND & SKY, Thomas Sabo and Bellabox.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge just had the most stylish date night, stepping out to attend a special screening of the Hamilton musical at Londonโs Victoria Palace Theatre.
For the occasion, Meghan Markle dared to forgo the Queenโs nude pantyhose rule, opting to wear bare legs and a stunning black suit mini dress by Canadian brand, Judith and Charles.
Meghan accessorised the look with black pumps, a gold clutch, and her hair pulled back into her signature bun.

Episode 5 of The Bachelor started off with the Honey Badger taking Sophie Tieman โ whoโs been rumoured not only as a frontrunner, but to actually win the show โ on her first single date.
After chatting about downward dogs for a bit, the two kissed and Soph scored a rose.
The next day the women went out on a group with a difference: instead of hanging out with Nick, they spent the day with his family, where basically everyone used the opportunity to talk shit about each other apart from pure, sweet Brooke.
Naturally, Brooke was the Cumminsโ familyโs top choice and she spent the evening having dinner at the Bachie pad.
The cocktail party was rather uneventful and Blair was sent home. Now to the good stuff: the best tweets of the night.

Youโre probably bored of hearing how chic French โ and particularly Parisian women โ are, but you canโt deny thereโs something fascinating about their sartorial insouciance.
You see, they donโt really care about trends, so much as investing in timeless pieces they know looks great on them.
That said, there are a few winning style formulas Iโve noticed some of my favourite French influencers wearing on the regular, which are pretty easy to recreate when it comes down to it. Scroll down to shop them below.
AnneLaure Mais Moreau, founder of French online shop Musier, knows a thing or two about balance. Itโs all about dressing down a fancy item to make it more wearable, the key to looking French is never trying too hard after all. Case in point: the sexy slip skirt, teamed with an oversized shirt.
Jeanne Damas is one of those people whose style is so inherently cool that she would be just as on trend 30 years ago as she is now. Flares may be very of-the-moment, but sheโs been wearing them forever, adding a dose of cool with a slogan tee or Breton top.
A la French, le classique suit (sorry) is worn oversized, in a neutral shade such as navy, and preferably with nothing underneath, as demonstrated by Marta of Life of Bohรจme. The blazer can also be style with a menโs shirt and straight leg jeans for another staple look.
Whether itโs Camille Charriรจre, Jeanne Damas or pretty much any other French influencer, the one staple everyone owns is a pretty floral dress for summer, which can be teamed with biker boots, sneakers or sandals.
As mentioned before, the key to Parisian style is all about balance. Here, Margaux SLV proves that a tough black leather jacket can be softened a tad with a retro skirt and a t-shirt.
Without going to far into stereotypes, striped t-shirts and denim dungarees will always have room in a wardrobe, but in reality French style is so much more creative and unexpected that that, all the while staying classic.

Every Aussieโs go-to label, Bec + Bridge, has just launched its first-ever bridesmaidsโ collection.
The brand, which has become a firm favourite of celebrities everywhere โ Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Selena Gomez and Kaia Gerber (to name a few) โ decided to venture into bridal after huge demand from their customers.
โWe noticed a major gap in the market when it came to coordinating a wedding party,โ Bec + Bridge co-founder Bec Cooper told marieclaire. โA few girls in the office were either getting married or part of the bridal party themselves and the struggle of making a wedding party look cohesive whilst making every girl feel chic and flattered was evident.โ
โWe saw an opportunity to step in and respond to all of this criteria as well as ensuring women wouldnโt need to take out a mortgage to achieve an amazing look,โ Cooper explains.
As for the collection, Bec + Bridge based its wedding edit off its most popular silhouettes and fabrications of all time, think silk slip dresses, ruffled sleeves and pastel hues.
โThe foundation of the offering is made up of all our favourite silhouettes, in our favourite fabrics, in our favourite bridal colours. The recipe seemed so obvious, we were surprised we hadnโt thought of this sooner!โ says Bec + Brideโs other half Bridget Yorston.
โThis collection captures a point in time when women really tossed aside their grungy โ90s gear and embraced a fiercely feminine side. With slinky slips and vibrant colours, the collection tells a story of the early โ90s feminine rebellion.โ
While weโre off calling up every bride we know to volunteer as tribute bridesmaid, you can shop the full collection here.

As well as being the โbest rom-com of the decade,โ Crazy Rich Asians is basically an ode to the opulence and luxury of Singapore, with its six-star hotels, mouthwatering food markets and chic rooftop bars.
When you see the film, youโll want to book a one-way ticket to Singapore. Stat. Luckily for you, weโve written a guide to Singapore โ Crazy Rich Asians style. Youโre welcome.
Where To Stay
Andaz hotel/ Hyatt โ situated right in the thriving hub between Little India and Kampong Glam, this hotel looks like a giant metal bee hive, complete with 24 hour gym, rooftop infinity pool, and our personal favourite, complimentary wine time from 5pm-7pm. Mr Stork is the hotelโs rooftop bar, where you can sip your champagne or cleverly crafted cocktail while taking in the 360-degree views of Singapore.
The hawker centres โ as seen in the movie (Newton Food Centre is where Colin & Araminta take Nick and Rachel when they land) is a smorgasbord of the most iconic and delicious Michelin-starred street foods. Hot tip: try the fried carrot cake. Although the name suggests a delicious slice of cake, itโs actually more like a radish, egg, & garlic omelet. Order white fried carrot cake or black (made with dark soy sauce) this dish is so moorish, youโll be lining up again and again.
Have a pre-dinner drink at Gibson Bar in Bukit Pasoh where in the movie, Rachel Chu (Constance Wu) vents to best friend Peik Lin (Nora Lum aka Awkwafina) about her boyfriendโs crazy mother. We highly recommended the cocktails Buddahโs Mule and Sake-tini.
Cร LA VI is a restaurant overlooking the Singapore skyline on top of the Marina Bay Sands. That strange looking architectural miracle that looks like a surfboard on top of three buildings. The menu is modern Asian and unlike a hawker market, youโll need to make a reservation well in advance. The top of the Marina Bay Sands is also the venue for the engagement party in the movie.
Have a nightcap at the opulent Atlas Bar which looks like something out of a Marvel comic โ itโs gilded metal interior was created by property mogul CS Hwang, it features a tower of gin from all over the world & dates back to 1910 โ a haven/ heaven for all gin drinkers!
328 Katong Laksa. We donโt need to say much about this. Itโs spicy, itโs hearty, itโll cure your cold or even hangover. Itโs simply the best.
Where To Explore
Chijmes (pronounced Chimes) โ at one point, was a convent and school, is a beautiful 19th Century gothic chapel where for two days, they filmed โthatโ wedding scene in the movie. Yes, they plumbed the water into the building, a pipe may have burst in the aftermath. Was it worth it? Absolutely!
Gardens by the bay โ every night unveils a spectacular light show in the massive supertree grove. Vertical gardens climb the 25-50 metre โtreesโ and is best viewed lying down on the warm ground at night to watch the lights dance to music. This was the backdrop to Colin Khoo (Chris Pang) and Araminta Leeโs (Sonoya Mizuno) extravagant wedding reception scene.
Take insta-worthy shots along Koon Seng Road where youโll find the most colourful houses worth a cool $30 million.

Napoleon Perdis is a man who doesnโt do things by halves. To celebrate the launch of his namesake beauty brand in Priceline Australia, Perdis and Priceline hosted an exclusive event in Brisbane, complete with a private jet and beauty vending machine.
Thatโs right: forget Moet vending machines because at this party makeup bags filled to the brim with travel-sized skincare were on offer.
Earlier that evening, Perdisโ 18-year-old daughter, Liana, who is an ambassador for this yearโs Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival, walked the designer group show, featuring pieces by Australian labels such as Ginger & Smart, Alice McCall, Dion Lee and Camilla, and with makeup by Napoleon Perdis.
The teenager, who has just graduated high school, made her runway debut earlier this year at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. Following in her fatherโs footsteps, Liana launched her first makeup collection, Total Bae, at age 16.
Of launching Napoleon Perdis in Priceline, Perdis previously said: โThis is a wonderful opportunity through the Priceline Pharmacy network to provide so many more customers with choice and empowerment to achieve their individually desired look and feel.โ
Perdis will also launch an energised collection of brand new skincare and makeup in Priceline stores.

The issue of infidelity is a complex one, but one expert believes that cheating can be divided into two distinct categories. No itโs not emotional and physical โ itโs down to the motivation of the perpetrator.
Tammy Nelson, a sex and relationship therapist and the resident relationship expert at Ashley Madison, told Business Insiderthat people who stray either want to leave the relationship theyโre in, or they donโt.
The former end up having a โcan-opener affairโ.
โItโs kind of a passive-aggressive way of saying, โI want out,โ even before I know I want out,โ Tammy says, and adds that itโs mostly women who are guilty this option.
Those who cheat but donโt want to finish their primary partnership are often looking to satisfy a certain need theyโre not getting from their significant other.
โItโs a way of filling that one part of their life that their marriage doesnโt. And then they feel like they have everything.โ
โMaybe their marriage gives them physical and emotional validation, but theyโre not getting the sexual risk-taking that they would want. So they get that from the affair.โ

A firm favourite of celebrities like Jessica Biel, David Beckham, Jessica Gnomes and Kim Kardashian, Los Anglesโ cult workout โBarryโs Bootcampโ is finally hitting our shores! And with over 42 locations worldwide already hosting their sell-out classes, itโs about time.
With two Sydney locations confirmed, Martin Place and Surry Hills, and several more in the works around Australia, Barryโs Bootcamp is set to shake things up.
Known as the โworkout that worksโ, Barryโs has gained such a strong following by mixing cardio and HIIT for 55 minutes in the โRed Roomโ. Expect pumping tunes, nightclub lighting and an instructor buffer than a Ken doll.
โNo class is ever the same,โ explains Head of Fitness, Blake Bridges. โAnd we break up our workouts by days of the week. So we focus on a different body part each day โ itโs based on the principle that if you want to come five, six, seven times a week you can, without over-working your body.โ
โWell, youโll either start on the treadmills,โ says Blake, โwhere youโll hit hills, inclines, sprints, and long runs. Or youโll start on the floor, where youโll use dumbbells, balls and bands. Then youโll cross over. We keep it simple but at the same time itโs very, very effective.โ
Inside Barryโs โRed Roomโ
Itโs these two start positions that have Barryโs devotees in eternal debate over. And while the jury is still out on whether itโs better (read: easier) to start on the treadmill or the floorโฆ our advice is to choose the floor. That way youโll be warmed up before you hit the weights.
Classes are designed to keep your heart rate high and to have minimal down time, however Blake stresses that although you can work your body really hard, you are also encouraged to pace yourself โ meaning that you donโt have to be built like Robocop to enjoy a sesh.
โFor example, on the treadmill, Iโm going to call out three speeds; beginner, intermediate, and advanced,โ explains Blake. โYou can choose your speed, because we know that everyone has a different fitness level. And if you want to step it up and make the intensity even more, we can help you do that too.โ

Meghan Markleโs style changed dramatically upon announcing the news of her engagement to Prince Harry, and following the royal wedding, the Duchess of Sussexโs wardrobe evolved even further โ out with the pantsuits and in with the pantyhose.
Of course, a lot of the changes weโre seeing in Meghanโs dress sense are due to her new responsibilities and the rules every royal must follow.
From avoiding garlic to not having political views or taking selfies, the protocol list is long.
(Credit: Getty)
Below, all the fashion rules the new Duchess must adhere to.
No bare legs
She managed to avoid it โtil the wedding, but now Meghan must adhere to the Queenโs pantyhose rule. No matter the weather, Meghan โ and her sister-in-law Kate Middleton โ will always have on a pair of nude tights.
No excessive jewellery
Meghan has long been a fan of layering gold rings and wearing mismatched earrings, however, since officially joining the royal family sheโs taken a more simple approach to jewellery.
No bright nails
No nail art for a Duchess! Meghan must now wear nude, sheer, or nothing at all on her nails.
No messy hair
Oh, how we wish the messy bun could stay. Unfortunately, Meghan is now growing out her wispy strands and opting instead for perfect curls and sleek updos.
Always packing black
After Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip were forced to head home from Kenya in normal clothes after the death of King George VI, royals always pack a black mourning outfit in case a member of the royal family dies.
No short skirts
When wearing skirts, all royals must make sure they sit around the knees or below them.
Hats are a must โ but not after 6pm
While Meghan now has to wear hats for formal events, strictly no headwear is to be worn after 6pm other than a tiara.
No wedges
The Queen hates wedges and that means all royal women have to avoid them when around her. Granted, Kate Middleton will sometimes don a pair if her grandmother-in-law isnโt around, but Meghan Markle hasnโt yet dared.
No fur
This a long-standing rule dating back to the 14th century, when King Edward III banned all royals from wearing fur. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge famously broke this when they wore fur scarves on a tour of Canada.

Inspired by the booming global beauty trend for Korean beauty waters, the latest self-tanning formulas are completely weightless and clear just like, well, water. Bronzing waters are designed to refresh and revive skin for a healthy sunkissed glow, in lieu of a deep tan you might expect from a spray formula.
Unlike their mouse and spray counterparts on the market, tanning water is colourless which is great for your sheets and bathroom tiles. Waters donโt leave a guide colour on your skin so you wonโt see any results until the tan has developed. Keep scrolling to discover our favourite self-tanning waters to try right nowโฆ
Launching in Australia this September, St Tropezโs innovative new โpurityโ tan is 100 per cent natural and vegan-friendly. It layers on weightlessly, so beware of overdoing it; itโs almost too easy to useโฆ

Fiona Xie plays the hilarious, attention-seeking, social-ladder-climbing Kitty Pong in Crazy Rich Asians. When sheโs not making a scene at the wedding of the century at Gardens by the Bay, youโll find the Singapore-local chowing down on chicken rice and pepper crabs at the Hawker Centres in town. Hereโs Fiona Xieโs guide to Singaporeโฆ
Top shopping spots
Iโve always loved fashion. Every fashion junkee can get their fix at Club 21, Surrender and Dover Street Market.
I get my daily morning coffee at my local House of AnLi cafรฉ. Itโs casual and reminds me of that little bit of Australian cool.
Another favourite haunt is the National Gallery Singapore, which is beautifully restored and links classical colonial buildings, the former Supreme Court and City Hall.
Itโs a feast for the senses as a gallery with Southeast Asiaโs biggest art collection.
It also houses amazing restaurants like National Kitchen by Violet Oon. The best way to delve into our culturally exciting mix of Peranakan, Chinese, Indian and Malay flavoured dishes. Delectable in a homely way.
The ones shaken not stirred by Kitty Pong. Haha! I do like to host private soirรฉes in our lovely garden city.
When Iโm not hosting at my house, youโll find me checking out the gummy bear menu at Tippling Club, before crossing the road for a good boogie at Club Kilo.
Of course, Dempsey is also a fun place to check out and you can redeem your sins all week instead of just sacrilegious Sundays at the historically restored chapel the White Rabbit.
Or if youโre shopping in Orchard and need a secret quick fix. Try to spot โThe Other Roomโ a little secret haunt with no signboard. Ring the secret doorbell to be allowed into this little haven.
Tanjong Beach Club on Sundays is perfect for an amazing beach experience.
1880 is a members-only bar that will make you want to live in Singapore. Gorgeous interiors and an even better craft team. Donโt tell anyone this secret.
Filming Crazy Rich Asians at Gardens by the Bay, the wedding of the century! Everyone needs to visit this at least once in their lifetime to take in the entire light show experience and to feel like you were part of the movie.
An adventurous spirit and a hell of an amazing attitude. Youโre set! Everything else, you can buy.
Singapore shopping lust list
A beautiful apartment โ stay forever! Otherwise, Singapore has something for everyone at any price point. Low and high.
The best dinner in town
Chicken rice, pepper crabs and a dose of variety at all the hawker centres in town. Newton Food Centre was featured in the film but one can experience all the neighbourhood hawker places all around Singapore and try all sorts of goodness.

Swearing, spitting and stealing safes, Julia Garner is the ultimate criminal mastermind.
Here, the actress gives us a sneak peak about what we can expect from the second season of the dark crime Netflix series, Ozark.
โIโm a neurotic New Yorker,โ says Julia Garner, pointing out the differences between her and her Ozark character Ruth Langmore, a foul-mouthed criminal from Missouri who rocks denim cut-off shorts.
โIโm not like Ruth at all. Sheโs unpredictable and acts impulsively. In the first month of shooting Ozark, I was exhausted every single day because I had to completely remove myself.โ Garner, who grew up on the Upper West Side of New York with her therapist mother and art teacher father, found it easier to tap in and out of her bad-arse character when filming the second season of the acclaimed Netflix drama.
โYou understand Ruth on a much deeper level in season two. Her ruthless behaviour starts to make sense,โ says Garner, 24, who hired a dialect coach to nail the Missouri accent and wrote in an acting journal to get into character. Her dedication has paid off: Hollywood critics have lauded Garnerโs performance as โmonumentalโ and โrather spectacularโ.
And now sheโs set to appear in the heavily hyped Netflix series Maniac, alongside Emma Stone and Jonah Hill. โI canโt really say anything about Maniac except that itโs really cool. I feel like a jerk that I canโt say more than that,โ apologises Garner, like a true neurotic New Yorker.

As soon as Brooke Blurton stepped out of the limo, balls in hand, it was clear she was a front runner in the competition for Nick Cummins, AKA the honey badgerโs, heart.
The youth worker and fitness fanatic from Perth, Western Australia had an instant connection (and clear common interests) with the rugby star, but it wasnโt just the pairโs instant chemistry that we couldnโt tear our eyes away from.
Brooke had some serious abs on show.
We spoke to
Youโre obviously super devoted to health and fitness, what does a week of training look like for you?
Devoted definitely. So Monday afternoon is either a rest day or if Iโm up to it, a heavier legs weights session. I like to start my heavier sessions at the start of the week to allow for recovery before weekend games.
Tues/Thurs are rugby union training and Wed/Fri are AFL training. Then Saturday is usually a rugby game and AFL game is Sunday. My week is always jam packed but I like it like that. Keeps me on my toesโฆ maybe thatโs why I was single for so longโฆ
Whatโs your least favourite workout or exercise?
I donโt really have one. I enjoy cardio, have always enjoyed running as a kid and I love weights because I love seeing my strength improveโฆ If I were really to pick one, it would be core exercises. But I know how beneficial it is!
Whatโs the best health or fitness tip anyone has ever given you?
โYour mind will give up before your body does.โ
What sparked your interest in team sport and why is it so important to you?
Team sport is just in built in me. Iโve played team sport since I can remember, starting from netball, I did a bit of athletics, AFL, basketball and now rugby.. I love the team, community aspect. Over time your team becomes like a family, so I love the fact when Iโm going down to training, I get to see the team, and the girls every week, getting to catch up and then hitting the track.
Brekky โ I would definitely start with a coffee and some eggs. I like to keep it clean and simple, for me with my lifestyle, simple and easy is life. Lunch is usually what I had for dinner the previous night. Living independentlyโฆ you learn to make that one extra so you can use for the next day. Iโm pretty big on meal prep, if I get the chance to do on a Sunday after footy.
Many girls have spoken about how hard it is to stay healthy in the house, how did you find your eating and exercise habits change?
I actually found being in the mansion a bit of a break from my lifestyle out of the house. Sometimes you need to be a little bit generous to yourself and I tried not to put high expectations on myself because for me that just creates more anxiety in yourself. I did exercise when I could and always did when I felt like my body needed those happy endorphins pumping. Eating habits, I was pretty good, a treat here or two is fine though Iโve always had a pretty good relationship with food and what my body does and doesnโt need. Itโs about discipline. I guess the hardest thing for me was that I lost heaps of muscle.. but being back home I was straight back into the grind.
You and Nickobviously share a love of sport, is that a relationship essential for you?
Itโs not too essential because Iโve realised through previous relationships, I need a lot more internal attributes than a physical ability. I want someone with compassion and empathy towards others, though motivation is definitely attractive in a person for meโฆ to be on my level or to even keep up with me, you would need to tick those 4 boxes minimum.

If you were shocked to find out that Ed Sheeran got engaged last year (and not to you), then youโll be disappointed to learn that heโs gone and gotten married in secret.
In an interview with Access Online, Sheeran was asked if he and his fiancรฉ Cherry Seaborn had set a date for their wedding.
In response, he held up his hand, flashed a wedding ring and turned bright red.
When the interviewer congratulated him and asked how he managed to keep it a secret, Sheeran said, โWell I never really do anything too public anyway.โ
Sure, he didnโt need to place a wedding notice in the newspaper, but he could have at least invited us. Gosh.
Sheeran met Seaborn, a hockey player, at school and the couple got together in 2015. He announced their engagement seven months ago on Instagram, saying, โGot myself a fiancรฉ just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats our chuffed as well xx.โ

Over the past few days, rumours that Nick โHoney Badgerโ Cummins not only finds love on The Bachelor, but actually proposes to the lucky lady, have been circulating.
Remember back on the premiere when we had a glimpse at how the show would pan out?
Well, Nick actually flashed a diamond ring, long before we all thought there was any chance of a proposal.
A source hasrevealedthat the rumoured engagement ring, which features two triangular stones and a larger peach stone on a rose gold band, is worth more than $20,000.
Further adding fuel to the fire, Nick recently said heโs open to proposing at the end of the show.
โFor me, itโs definitely possible!โ he told OK! Magazine, before, naturally, making a joke: โDiamonds arenโt included, because I think itโs a business venture and good marketingโฆ. [Iโd] probably propose with a burger ring.โ
So are we looking at a promise ring, like Matty J and Laura Bryne? Or an engagement ring, like Sam Cochrane and Tara Pavolvic?

Yesterday, another Bachelor in Paradise couple announced the end of their relationship. After eight months together, Megan Marx and Jake Ellis took to Instagram to reveal they had split, saying the break up had been โdestroyingโ and they were โdevastated.โ
Megan shared a note to her Instagram Stories that began, โJake is easily the biggest-hearted man Iโve ever met, and Iโd be lying if I said this break up has been anything but destroying.โ
โOur first kiss and first date was on a reality TV show โ something Iโll always treasure as a beautiful experience and as beautiful memories.โ
โThe rest, in private, far exceeded the fun/romance of the show as we grew to love and respect each other, and also tease the s**t out of each other as best friends.โ
โWeโll be keeping everything else to ourselves โ sending love to everyone who has supported us,โ she finished.
Later that day, Jake shared a tribute of his own, saying he and Megan are taking a break from their relationship and that โwords will never express the heartbreakโ heโs feeling right now.
In his post, Jake implied that it was Megan who called time on their relationship, saying: โI wish with all of my heart that this wasnโt happening.โ
The pair has been open about having issues over the past few months with both Jake and Megan writing lengthy posts. Earlier this month, Jake said: โRelationships arenโt always perfect, not always the fairytale that you put out to the world.โ
โIt takes work sometimes, to learn about each other & face those tough relationship obstacles together. Thatโs what is real. In being honest, this is something that we have faced recently, not certain on how we would come out the other end.โ
Megan shared a post of her own, saying: โIf I can be so bold โ weโve had a rough couple of months. We werenโt sure if weโd even last.โ
Rumours started surfacing that the two were taking a break after it was reported that a huge fight at Splendour in the Grass prompted Megan to move back to Sydney.
โTheyโve been having problems for the past two months,โ a source told The Daily Mail. โMeganโs really upset.โ

For todayโs lesson in things you never knew about the royal family, letโs talk about Kate Middletonโs engagement ring.
The first thing you need to know about Kateโs stunning sapphire ring is that it was originally Princess Dianaโs engagement ring, back when she was preparing to tie the knot with Prince Charles.
The second thing you need to know about the ring is that it has a long history of controversy in the royal family, dating back to when Diana picked it out. The story starts in 1981, when Prince Charles presented Diana with a selection of rings to choose from for her engagement ring, according to Vogue. The rings came courtesy of Garrard, who was the crown jeweler at the time.
Diana selected the Ceylon sapphire stone set in white gold that has since become iconic. Hereโs where the controversy comes inโthe ring was a stock item. Meaning? It wasnโt bespoke and any old commoner with enough money could buy exactly the same ring. Oh, the horror, right?
Clearly, Diana didnโt care about this one bit. She loved the ring and continued to wear it after her divorce from Charles in 1996.
When Will and Kate got engaged in 2010, he proposed with his late motherโs beloved ring, saying it was his way of keeping her close to it all, according to OK!.
Kate, for her part, was also thrilled to be wearing the controversial bauble. โItโs beautiful โ I hope I look after it! Itโs very specialโ, she said at the time.

Despite Bachelor contestant Sophie Tieman not yet scoring a one-on-one date with Nick โHoney Badgerโ Cummins โ and other frontrunners such as Brooke and Brittany scoring a lot of airtime โ fans think the 25-year-old just accidentally confirmed she wins the show.
In a photo posted by Sophieโs business Instagram, Two Corporate Girls, on which her and a friend model stylish, work appropriate outfits, the commercial property valuer looks to be wearing an engagement ring on her left hand.
The post comes just one day after reports the Honey Badger proposes on the show and that the winner and Wallabiesโ player take part in a commitment ceremony in this yearโs finale.
An insider told NW that Cummins told producers he was ready to pop the question and make it official. โWe thought it was a joke,โ they said. โBut he said he just wanted to โmake her his missusโ โ and told the crew to call in โany old celebrantโ who could make it happen.โ
The Daily Mail previously reported that Sophie is this seasonโs winner, publishing back in June that โit is believed Nick has found love on the dating show with Sophie Tieman, a corporate fashion blogger who also works in commercial property valuations.โ
The blonde bombshell has also done some hinting of her own, revealing she has moved from Brisbane to Sydney and is now calling the Northern Beaches her new home โ coincidentally, also where Mr Bachelor resides.
โLook property is bigger and better in Sydney, I specialise in property valuations so why wouldnโt I be based in Sydney?โ the 25-year-old coyly admitted toWomanโs Day.
โIโm here with a best friend of mine thatโs also moved down.โ

Before the days of Instagram, it was easy to forget that in the Australian winter, the southern hemisphere is enjoying a summer filled with floral dresses, European beaches and bikinis.
But since the creation of social media, rugging up in coats and scarves for three months straight has become all the more depressing, especially given the new trends coming out that require a lot of sun to pull off.
Case in point, the fashion crowd wearing lingerie as clothes, specifically Chantelle Parisโ stretch bodysuit and bra.
Thankfully, with spring fast approaching it wonโt be long before we can swap the woollens for warm weather looks โ very much including wearing underwear as outerwear.
See how the style set is wearing the trend below, before shopping it here.

Full disclosureโthis article raised a few eyebrows, even inciting a โnot possible.โ The notion that DIYeyebrow and lash tinting treatmentscould be putting your health at risk threatened to put an end to a sacred part of a few editorsโbeauty routines.
U.S. publicationAllurefirst raised the alarm after the Food and Drug Administrationโs put a ban on all coal-based permanent lash and eyebrow dyes. Leading health experts to question, how safe are semi-permanent DIY dyes, used both locally and internationally, really?
So, what exactly is lash and brow tinting?
Basically, a dye is brushed directly on brows and lashes to darken the hair for approximately six months. The results not only save time and create a more youthful overall look but forlazy beauty girls, tinting looks more natural result than brow pencils. In Australia, you can purchase manyTGA-approvedsemi-permanent formulas at the pharmacy or book into a salon for a more permanent alternative.
What are the risks?
In America, the FDA hasnโt approved any dyes for tinting because of the risks they pose to eye safety. โPermanent eyelash and eyebrow tints and dyes have been known to cause serious eye injuries,โ the federal agency says on its website.
โThe problems are the irritation to the actual sclera of the eye, which can be very uncomfortable and last days,โ she certified dermatologistNava Greenfield advises. It can also cause an allergic reaction, complete with redness, scaliness, and extreme itching, that could last several days and need medication to treat.
And those are just the temporary side effects. โYou could also suffer chemical burns to your eyes and possibly permanent eye irritation,โ Greenfield adds. Most recently the practice was completely banned in California.
As reported by Refinery 29, itโs illegal in California for any licenced beautician to have brow or lash tinting in their salon. Itโs even been prohibited from being taught in cosmetology schools. In a statement issued tothe outlet, The California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology reports, โthe FDA has informed the Board that, currently, the additives used in lash/brow tints are not approved for use around the eye area.โ
More specifically, the FDA cites coal tar as the ingredient in question, stating that it โrepresent[s] an acute, severe hazard to health with the possibility of permanent injury; i.e., impaired sight, including blindness.โ
If you are concerned, we recommend sticking to natural vegetable based-dyes and only have the treatment performed by a trained professional in a salon.

Hereโs some news you already know: Australian women are underpaid. The gender pay gap is now 14.6 per cent in Australia, a figure thatโs barely shifted in the past two decades.
What are we doing about it? While weโve campaigned for 15 years to close the pay gap in Australia (and will continue to do so), this year we thought weโd offer you a little sweetener for Equal Pay Day on August 31.
Youโll receive 15 per cent off brands including Cue, Veronika Maine, Dion Lee, The Iconic, Trenery, Alice McCall, Ginger & Smart, Manning Cartell, Parlour X, Peter Alexander, One Teaspoon, Jac + Jack, Spell & The Gypsy Collective, Napoleon Perdis, Benefit, The Daily Edited, SENSO, Fashion BNKR, Stylerunner, Hard To Find, First Base, Glamazon, Wittner, My Chameleon, SAND & SKY, Thomas Sabo and Bellabox.
August 31 has been chosen as 2018โs Equal Pay Day because Australian women would need to extend the financial year to this date to earn the same annual salary as men.
Itโs a depressing statistic, which is why, at the very least, weโve all earned a spot of retail therapy. Find the exact offers from each brand and the discount code youโll need to redeem on your purchases here.

Forget Paris: couturier Bowie Wong has chosen an event in Sydney to launch his latest collection while raising awareness for the important work of the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation. Itโs the first time he will have shown on our shores for six years. The Hong Kong-born Australian fashion designer, who has been living in Paris and showing at Paris Couture Week, says, โThe last show I did in Australia was 2012, but that was a pret-a-porter [or ready-to-wear] collection. Iโve never actually shown a couture collection in Australia.โ
He explains, โReady-to-wear is basically mass production, so after the show designers produce lots of pieces [of the same garment]. Itโs a more commercial [approach].โ He continues, โA couture collection is a lot of detail done by hand, including hemming, zippers, stitching, beading, embroidery. Also itโs a limited supply. We donโt do the same style twice โ we change a little bit in the detail, in colour, or length, meaning we donโt produce exactly the sameโฆitโs more personal. Really, itโs made for the [individual] customer.โ
Wong, who has dressed many A-list celebrities from Kylie Minogue to Kendall Jenner and Beyonce, has chosen the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation Avant Garde event to showcase his first-ever Australian-designed couture collection. The gala ball, held in Sydney on September 15 at the Hordern Pavilion, is the Foundationโs flagship event, raising money to fight brain cancer through research, advocacy and awareness.
โWhen the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation approached me, I was going through health problems,โ Wong divulges. โI thought I was Superman [even though] I was born legally blind. Iโve never had good vision and I had to wear Coca Cola bottle glasses until I was 18 years old, [when] I started to wear contact lenses, which gave me my confidence back,โ he explains. โBut Iโve always had problems [with my sight], and since working in Paris, because of the detail of the work, and because I [was] worn outโฆ my eyesight got worse.โ
A visit to a French specialist confirmed his fears. โThey found out my retinas were giving up, and I was basically about to go blind. But because of my personality I thought, โNo, you can do itโ and I stretched out [treatment]. Last year, right after I showed in Paris, I was in the shower and I suddenly couldnโt see [anything] for five minutes.โ
Wong rushed back to Australia for emergency treatment in August and has since had another three sight-saving operations. โI now have really good vision in the daytime, but at night I canโt see much,โ he says. โDuring my time in hospital, I talked to a lot of different people and I realised we are not Supermen. We can get sick. We arenโt bullet proof. I care about whatโs going on around me and other people also andโฆwhen Cure Brain Cancer asked me [to get involved] I said, โWell, if I have the power, Iโd like to use it. I mentioned Superman, but another superhero is Spiderman and he says, โWith great power comes great responsibilityโ. If I have the power, why not use if for good, rather than just using it for famous people?โ
Wong will show 20 couture pieces at Avant Garde in September, with the theme of his collection the paper crane, from CBCFโs logo. โItโs a symbol of hope and a symbol of peace and healing, so once I had this idea I wanted to do a healing collectionโ, he explains. โ[In] the collection, half of the dress is beautiful but the other may be unbalanced. [For example] the left hand side of the dress isnโt finished but the right had side isโฆyou still can see the beautiful side, so it is about even though you might have some sickness, it doesnโt mean you are not beautiful or not complete.โ
The designer has created each piece โfrom scratchโ. He says, โI knew it would be a big challenge but I said, โYes, I can make it in the short time [I have]โ. During my time in hospital I realised how important it was to help.โ
See Wongโs amazing designs first hand and show your support for the important work of the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation by attending Avant Garde. Tickets start at $315 per person.

Pretty Little Liars star Troian Bellisario has taken to Instagram to share a heartbreaking tribute to her friend who lost her baby at seven months pregnant.
The actress, who is currently pregnant with her first child, shared a beautiful tribute to her friend and co-star Lulu Brud and her husband Justin Zsebe who learned that their baby girl didnโt have a heartbeat during a routine ultrasound at seven months.
โI havenโt wanted to post in awhile, because I havenโt quite known what to say and I have been trying to figure out what is the best way to honor my community and in particular the two beautiful souls of [Justin] & [Lulu],โ the 32-year-old captioned a photo of the couple.
In the post, Bellisario wrote about how she felt Instagram wasnโt the right place, but at the same time she felt she needed to honour her friends and their loss.
Her post continued:
Instagram isnโt the place but there is also no way to move forward (in my experience on social media) without honoring them both and the loss that they have experienced. There is so much noise here. There is much of life to be celebrated and shared and this platform is a mishmash of advertisements, sales, personal photos and funny memes (and thank god for the funny memes) but I have to be honest these days I havenโt known where I fit into all of it.
Except that when tragedy struck my best friend and her husband, I saw a community, no, an army of people come to their side.
We made phone calls and cooked food and held space and each other and did our best to be there for them during an unimaginable time of sadness and loss.
I want to thank my community for your work and love and I want to thank Justin and Lu. Your love, your marriage and your strength have inspired me, your resilience and kindness have humbled me and I am still standing in awe next to the two of you as you continue to walk through the fire.
There is still so much work to be done, but I am relieved we have the two of you to lead the way.
To my followers, thank you for supporting and respecting their privacy during this time and I want to encourage you to tell your friends and family how much you love them and do what you can to lift one another up today and in all the days to come.
Brud also took to Instagram, sharing the devastating news of their loss.
โOn Monday, August 13th, Justin and I went in for our regular 7 month check-up and through a panicked ultrasound quickly learned that our beautiful baby girl had lost her heartbeat,โ she captioned a photo from her hospital bed.
โThere really arenโt words for this kind of loss, when your life and plans go completely sideways.โ
Brud then went on to express her anger at the โatrociousโ healthcare system in the US.
โIn a time of bottomless grief and pain, most healthcare institutions wouldnโt even have the conversation with us about how to safely pass our child beyond, โHave you considered just laboring?โ,โ she shared. โThanks to Justin and our incredible tribe around us for making calls to seemingly every doctor in Los Angeles, on Wednesday, I safely underwent a procedure that would take our daughter safely out of me.โ
Her post continued:
This week has certainly taken us to new levels of grief within ourselves that we didnโt even know existed. We are heartbroken and devastated beyond belief, but we have been so held so wonderfully by the tribe around us, who within two seconds of receiving the call were barreling up our stairs and ushering us out of our homeโฆ.who cooked and broke their backs cleaning our entire home and did the heartbreaking work of disassembling our nursery and resetting our spaceโฆwho cocooned us in tears and silence and somehow laughter.
For the people holding space and prayers for us, we feel you too. Get yourself a tribe of friends like this. For every way that we feel unlucky, we can count two ways that we feel even luckier. We will learn how to walk and heal again and hopefully find our way back to fertility as soon as we can.
Iโm sure there are waves that we canโt even see coming yet that will knock us off our feet all over again, but we are trying to just take it one baby step at a time. Baby Girl Brud-Zsebe, for the seven months that I had the honor of having your heartbeat inside of me, you taught me the deepest levels of love and grief that Iโve ever known. For never getting to share your magical light in the world, the hole youโve leftโฆ

The British cult-hit podcast My Dad Wrote A Porno is making its small screen debut. Hallelujah.
HBO are adapting the podcast for a comedy special of its live show, due to hit our screens in 2019.
The podcast launched in 2015 after Jamie Morton found a series of adult novels written by his real-life father under the pseudonym Rocky Flintstone. Naturally, Morton decided to read the โBelinda Blinkedโ novels aloud with his mates James Cooper and Alice Levine โ and My Dad Wrote A Porno was born.
Since then, the podcast has amassed more than 100 million downloads, with listeners tuning in to hear about the sexual adventures of Belinda Blumenthal, a 30-something woman with a high libido and โtits like pomegranates.โ
โMy Dad Wrote A Porno shows the extent of just how embarrassing dads can be, in the best possible way,โ says Nina Rosenstein, executive vice president at HBO Programming. โJames, Jamie and Alice transformed a very awkward situation into an undeniably hilarious experience that weโre excited to share with our audience.โ
We spoke to Morton last year about who heโd like to play Belinda Blumenthalโฆ
After reading the books, how long was it before you could look at your dad again?
Itโs been quite a journey, and truthfully, there are still moments I struggle to look him in the eye.
How did your mum react to your dadโs alter ego?
Sheโs had to implement strict rules with Rocky. For example, he can only write in the garden shed, or โpavilionโ as he calls it.
What is the most horrific line youโve read?
The end of Season 2 has been the roughest. The phallically challenged Texan billionaire Jim Stirling had a dodgy penis enhancement. There was blue semen and flaking skin. Some of it even got stuck in poor Belindaโs teeth as she was going down on him. I apologise to everyone who had to endure it.
What exactly are โvaginal lidsโ?
For the longest time I convinced myself that โvaginal lidsโ was just a typo. He must have meant โlipsโ. Right? Surely. Then, a few chapters later these pesky lids pop up (or open) again and I had to just shake my head in disbelief. My guess is as good as yours.
Rocky has a penchant for comparing breasts to round fruit, writing, โHer tits hung freely like pomegranates.โ Have you been able to eat a pomegranate since?
Funnily enough I have avoided pomegranate like the plague ever since I opened my dadโs magnum opus. Thankfully I was never a huge fan, but now, whenever I see it sprinkled on some hummus, I just think โthatโs so, so wrongโ. Bananas are [also] out, zucchini, even eggplant.
Who would you like to see play Belinda Blumenthal?
I think Gal Gadot would kill it as Belinda. After all, Dadโs heroine is somewhat of a wonder woman herself.

With almost every reality show there ever was, we hear contestants bemoaning the way they were edited, usually because itโs in a less than favourable light. However, if new reports are to be believed, The Bachelor contestant Shannon is the subject of some major editing โ but to make her appear more likeable.
According to fellow contestant, Romy Poulier โ who it must be noted has made no secret that there was no love lost between her and Shannon in the house โ says she has been edited to appear โsweet and innocentโ.
โShe does a very good job at portraying herself as a sweet, innocent girl who wants to spread love,โ Romy tells NW.
Romy, who has herself been accused of being an actress and on the show for fame, goes on to recount an apparently deleted scene which saw Shannon accuse Bachelor Nick Cummins of doing the show for the money.
โShe goes to Nick, โYouโre just doing it for the big bucks, arenโt ya? They pay you โ youโre just doing it for the big bucks,'โ added Romy. โThey did a really good edit on her and I get annoyed because she was throwing burgers at us and swearing at us!โ
Thems the breaks of reality TV heyโฆ
And itโs kind of a valid question if you ask us โ and while we donโt know the exact amount heโs making, Matty J reportedly earned $200,000 for his Bachelor stint and considering the Honey Badger was an established star before taking on the role, safe to say heโs earning even more.

โWith the Duchess of Sussex being from the US the concept of monarchy is a bit alien, so itโs been a great learning curve she has taken in her stride and managed incredibly well,โ the Queenโs former spokesperson, Dickie Arbiter, told the Daily Mail.
However, Arbiter says the royal tour down under will be a โlitmus testโ for Meghan and will test her like nothing else.
โSheโs a good communicator, sheโs good at talking to people but it will be a real baptism of fire,โ he contined. โThey will have a very demanding schedule and the Duchess will have to get used to local customs with the eyes of the world on her.โ
โBut no doubt she will come through with flying colors and they will show they will be a force of good for the Commonwealth and the Royal Family on the global stage.โ
We reckon sheโs going to nail it โ bring on Meghan and Harry watch!

The news was finally out last week, with The Hills cast finally confirming what everyone was hoping โ the showโs coming back! After months of speculation, major cast members reunited on the VMAs red carpet to confirm the news. While we eagerly wait for our favourites to reunite on The Hills: New Beginnings, letโs have a look at where theyโve been since we sadly said goodbye to the show.
Lauren Conrad
We followed Lauren Conrad as she worked her way up in the fashion industry on The Hills. She has come a long away since her Teen Vogue days, launching her own line Paper Crown and publishing a New York Times best-seller novel L.A. Candy. Currently she runs a lifestyle website and a successful line with Kohlโs, LC by Lauren Conrad. Sheโs happily married to guitarist William Tell and they welcomed their first child Liam James in 2017.
Heidi Montag
Heidi Montag was Lauren Conradโs BFF and roommate but the friendship soon deteriorated when she started dating Spencer Pratt. Montag and Pratt tied the knot in a ceremony that was filmed for the reality show. In 2010, she famously had ten cosmetic surgery procedures in one day. After The Hills wrapped up, Montag released an unsuccessful music album and appeared on the British version of Celebrity Big Brother in 2013 and 2017. The couple welcomed baby Gunner Stone in 2017.
Audrina Patridge
Audrina Patridge joined the show in season one where we got to watch her on-again, off-again relationship with Justin โBobbyโ Brescia. After the season finale of The Hills, she got her own reality spin-off Audrina which lasted for one season. She landed a few acting gigs and hosted the NBC travel series 1st Look for two years. In 2016, she married professional BMX rider Corey Bohan and they welcomed a daughter in the same year. Last year, she filed for divorce and a restraining order against Bohan. Not only is she reuniting with the cast for the re-boot, but has also reunited with former flame Ryan Cabrera.
Whitney Port
We were introduced to the bubbly Whitney Port in the first season working alongside Lauren Conrad at Teen Vogue. After season four finished, Port made the move to New York and starred in her own MTV spin-off The City for two seasons. The spin-off documented her time working for Diane von Furstenberg and ELLE magazine (and introduced us to Olivia Palermo). In 2009, she launched her own line, Whitney Eve. She is married to producer Tim Rosenman and they welcomed baby boy Sonny last year which led to the launch of Portโs YouTube channel, โI Love My Baby, Butโฆโ
Spencer Pratt
Dubbed the villain of The Hills, Spencer Pratt was the antagonist to Lauren Conrad and sparked the demise of her friendship with Heidi Montag. Blowing through a $10 million fortune, Pratt filed for bankruptcy in 2010. These days, you can find Pratt proclaiming his love of crystals on Instagram and Snapchat โ heโs even created his own crystal kit.
Lo Bosworth
Since The Hills wrapped up filming, Bosworth has kept herself busy with a slew of projects including a lifestyle website The LoDown, YouTube channel and a podcast โLady Lovin'โ. She is also founder and CEO of Love Wellness Co, an all natural feminine hygiene company. Unfortunately she wonโt make a return for the re-boot, stating on her podcast, โI donโt want any association with any of those people.โ
Brody Jenner
Brody Jenner appeared on the reality show as Spencerโs friend but later became Laurenโs love interest. The son of Caitlyn Jenner, he continued to make several reality TV appearances on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, I Am Cait and had his own short-lived talk show Sex With Brody. This year, he married blogger Kaitlynn Carter and made headlines for slamming his father for not attending the wedding.
Kristin Cavallari
We first saw Kristin Cavallari on Laguna Beach and again as Laurenโs frenemy on The Hills. After the reality show finished, Cavallari did a few acting gigs and appeared on the 2011 season of Dancing With The Stars. This year, she headed back to reality TV with her own E! show Very Cavallari chronicling her life with NFL-player husband, Jay Cutler, with whom she has three children. She currently runs a fashion and lifestyle brand Uncommon James.
Stephanie Pratt
Stephanie Pratt was introduced as Spencerโs sister in the third season and attended the same college as Lauren Conrad. She joined Made in Chelsea in 2013 as Spencer Matthewโs girlfriend and has appeared on UKโs Celebrity Big Brother.
Justin โBobbyโ Brescia
One of the major storylines on the show was the turbulent relationship between hairdresser Justin โBobbyโ Brescia and Audrina Patridge. He had bad blood with Lauren Conrad and became the subject of the iconic quip, โhomeboy wore combat boots to the beachโ. These days, Brescia is a musician and has his own hair care and styling line called BRUSH by Justin Bobby Brescia.
Jason Wahler
Also a former Laguna Beach member, Jason joined The Hills as Laurenโs boyfriend. The show documented the volatile relationship between the two and when Lauren made the infamous ill-fated decision to choose him over Paris. He has been open with his alcohol addiction which resulted in six drinking-related arrests and an appearance on Celebrity Rehab. He is married to model Ashley Slack and they welcomed baby Delilah Ray in 2017.
Frankie Delgado
He was known as Brody Jennerโs sidekick on The Hills regularly appearing on their night outs. Since filming of the show wrapped, he has married Jennifer Acosta in 2013 in a ceremony with Lauren Conrad and Brody Jenner as guests. The couple welcomed a baby girl in 2014.

Kate Middleton is one of the most talked-about women in the world, with the clothes she wears selling out in minutes, and the fashion brand websites that sell them crashing due to theKate Middleton effect.
What is the Duchessโ favourite fashion brand? What nail varnish does Kate wear? And where is her favourite holiday destination?
These are questions that are asked on a regular basis about the Duchess of Cambridge, but this week there has been another question on everyoneโs lips:
Where did Kate Middleton get her facial scar?
For those who hadnโt spotted it, the 36-year-old has a 3 inch long thin scar on her left temple, just above her hairline.
But where did the Duchess get her scar? Well, the palace cleared that up, forced to address rumours around the scar back in 2011 after critics suggested it could be evidence of wig extensions.
Instead, the Duchess has actually had her scar since her childhood.
โThe scar is related to a childhood operationโ, a palace spokesperson toldE! Newsback in 2011.
It is not known what the procedure was actually for, but it does not seem to be related to anything that the royal is still dealing with.

Meghan Markle has had a trying time in the run and up and since becoming a Duchess, with the Markle side of her family causing her more drama than most royals will endure in a lifetime.
From her father Thomas Markleโs repeated involvement with the press to multiple estranged relatives from Tyler Dooley to Samantha Grant cashing in on her title, and using it to pursue careers in reality TV, Meghan has had a rough time of it, and itโs safe to say that the Duchess of Sussex deserves a holiday, something thankfully she seems to have got recently.
But not just any holiday โ a star-studded holiday.
Italian magazineChirevealed this week that the newlyweds had a mini holiday in Italy this year, reportedly staying atGeorge and Amal Clooneyโs Lake Como villafor three nights.
But while that holiday gave us serious FOMO, it was the latest detail of their upcoming tour that made us the most excited.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have just set off on their first official longterm tour as Duke and Duchess of Sussex with the couple set to visit Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and the Kingdom of Tonga.
David Beckham will be joining the Duke and Duchess for the Australian leg of their tour, after signing up as an ambassador of the Invictus Games, due to take place while the couple are Down Under.
And it looks like itโs going to be a family affair. Victoria Beckham announced on Instagram this week that sheโs coming along for the trip, writing: โLooking forward to visiting Australia next week!โ
Talk about double date goals. We canโt wait for the pictures!

While most of us know that the condom is the only real form of contraceptive to protect against most STIs AND pregnancy, it seems they havenโt been getting the recognition they deserve, with people either turning to other options or shunning safe sex practices altogether.
But it seems the tide might be turning back towards the humble rubber. And when we heard about the STI superbug that is taking over, weโre frankly not surprised.
These days the options for contraception are greater than ever before, whether thatโs a good thing though, reminds to be seen. Women have the choices from the pill (in emergencies the morning after pill), implants and IUDs, even sterilisation and apps in the hopes of avoiding falling pregnant.
And did we mention those STIs (that none of those forms of contraception protect against)โฆ
A 2016 report from the American Center For Disease Control found a spike in STIs among young people (chlamydia, up 6%, gonorrhea, up 13% ad syphilis, up 19%) and 20 million new STIs occurring every year.
โWe are definitely seeing young people who donโt practice safe sex,โ Dr. Hansa Bhargava, a WebMD medical editor and pediatrician based in Atlanta told The New York Post. โIn a casual relationship, if a person feels like they โknowโ the other person, they are less likely to practice protected sex,โ she added, citing the rise of the โfriends with benefitsโ phenomenon.
However with the rates of STIs on the rise โ and new ones emerging ALL the time โ and the technology being used to make condoms better than ever before, it seems the condom really is the no-brainer. Did we mention they have a 98% effectiveness rating?
A 2017 report found that condom use was back on the rise, up 29.5 per cent from a previous 2002 study.
Not to mention condoms also put the responsibility โ of both pregnancy and STIs โ on both parties, rather than the woman having it all on her shoulders. Winning.

Oops. Seems like all of us took Julie Bishop for granted.
Now that the long-serving Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister has done what anyone in their right mind would do e.g. packed her bags and said goodbye to the circus โ weโre all starting to realise that she was the one person who could have cleaned up this mess.
And if her party colleagues have a brain between them, theyโll be coming to the same thudding realisation.
She was always there, the calm right hand to whichever blustering blowhard held the top job โ Brendan Nelson, Tony Abbott, Malcolm Turnbull.
She travelled quietly but effectively around the globe as Foreign Minister, putting out whatever fires had to be quenched, either by tough, measured diplomacy or by that famous death stare.
We assumed weโd always have her on hand in one role or another, keeping the fools in check.
Why on earth would we think anyone would stay on under these circumstances?
What a callous display of contempt and disrespect her party showed to both her and the Australian people when she only received 11 votes in the leadership ballot, despite her overwhelming popularity with voters.
40 per cent of respondents in a News Corp poll put her as preferred PM when it looked like that could be a possibility.
Todayโs Newspoll had her outclassing all the other contenders, with 29 per cent of voters saying theyโd wanted to see her in the top job โ more than the man whoโs currently sitting in the chair.
We so wanted her to be waiting, watching and wrangling behind the scenes. But it wasnโt to be.
Last week, when it looked like J-Bish had a legitimate chance to snatch the top job, I characterised her as a calculating schemer, sharpening her claws on the sidelines as the blokes tore each other to shreds.
It may have seemed gendered to paint her as a sinister assassin but why should it be? Thatโs the way almost all her male colleagues have grabbed power. Why shouldnโt she do it in the same way if thatโs the direction she wanted to go?
But what was almost certainly gendered was the fact that she wasnโt given a chance of any sort by her Liberal party colleagues. The jostling was confined to the thuggish old white men. She was never considered a serious contender. Unsurprising from a party that has a real issue with attracting and retaining female members. Just 22 per cent of its Federal members are female.
And so when the boysโ club froze her out, she did what anyone with a sane bone in their body would do โ she left them to it. And even though we wish sheโd hung in to inject the place with a bit of class and calm, itโs ironically exactly this logical, level-headed decision which has made many of us realise what a solid player she was.
Marie Claire readers expressed their disappointment on Instagram.
โJust shows the depth of her character refusing to be a part of the new circusโ wrote @_glow360
โA very sad day in Australian politics, we will miss you @juliebishopmp you are an amazing role model,โ said @wendydh71
โSuch a deep disappointment that after all of this weekโs upheaval embarrassment & blatant selfish ambition,โ said @josieandjones. โWe then lose the poise & calm of our nation.โ
The Labor Party canโt contain its disdain either. โTheir strongest performer, most popular minister, and best fundraiser, completely disrespected by a bunch of blokes with half her intellect,โ sneered Labor MP Claire OโNeill. โLetโs see how they get on without her.โโ
Hereโs an idea, Ms Bishop. Take a break and then jump over to the other side. Many of your views were decidedly left-leaning anyway (we know you hate Duttonโs racism and you were pro-same sex marriage just for staters).
The Labor Party seems to quite like having women around the joint โ with 45 per cent of its Federal members having two x chromosomes compared to the one in five of your formal party.
We think theyโd welcome you with open arms.
And wouldnโt that stick it up the bungling boys who were too wrapped up in their squabbles to see the value of the women who was right under their noses the entire time.

Former Spice Girl Melanie Brown has revealed plans to enter rehab following an โincredibly difficult six monthsโ following her divorce from husband Stephen Belafonte.
Mel B told The Sun that she is seeking help for issues with alcohol and sex as well as post-traumatic stress disorder from the split.
โThe past six months have been incredibly difficult for me,โ revealed the Americas Got Talent star who is releasing a book called Brutally Honest and says working on the book been โunbelievably traumatic reliving an emotionally abusive relationship and confronting so many massive issues in my life.โ
The star goes on to detail how she dealt with the pain, and hopes by speaking out she can help others in a similar situation.
โI am being very honest about drinking to numb my pain but that is just a way a lot of people mask what is really going on,โ she continued. โSometimes it is too hard to cope with all the emotions I feel. But the problem has never been about sex or alcohol โ it is underneath all that.โ
The star says she will enter a facility in the UK in the next few weeks.
โI am speaking about this because this is a huge issue for so many people.โ
The 43-year-old says she is determined to get better for the sake of her children, Phoenix, 19, Angel, 11, and Madison, six.

Blake Lively and her wardrobe have been the centre of attention the past few weeks as the actress promotes her new film, A Simple Favour.
The 31-year-old wore seven suits in seven days, prompting many to question the motivation behind her new uniform of sorts.
One confused fan was Instagram user @gabeluna, who wrote on one of Blakeโs photos: โI say this with so much love & respect for you babe, please hire a stylist or fire the one youโre currently with.โ
โI just like it. I love design and I love fashion and itโs a way to be creative,โ she previously told WWD.
Instead of simply ignoring (or pretending she didnโt see) the comment about her outfits, Queen Blake opted to reply in the best possible way.
โThank you for the tips, sir. Alas, Iโve tried to fire @blakelively so many times. But that b*tch just keeps coming back. She wonโt leave me alone.โ

A thread named โBegging for a Weddingโ, tells the story of bride-turned-total-bridezilla Susan, who asked her friends and family to chip in $1500 each towards her $60k dream wedding in Aruba.
In a long Facebook post, Susan revealed her wedding had been cancelled due to people refusing to pay up and her relationship with her fiance had thus ended.
Susan revealed that after a psychic told her and her then-partner to โgo with the more expensive optionโ, the pair thought, โwhy the hell not?โ (hindsight is a beautiful thing) and began to plan their extravagant $60k nuptials.
But when only eight people RSVPโd to the day, things started to go downhill.
โI just wanted to be a Kardashian for a day and then live my life like normal,โ Susan explains, saying that when her maid of honour told her she should stick to her budget, โI called her a filthy f*cking poor excuse of a friend and hung up.โ
As soon as she posted the rant to Facebook, someone wrote: โI have no words. Youโre out of your mind, Susanโ and another commented, โWHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?? Who the hell EXPECTS that amount of money?โ
You can read the full novel โ warning: swear words very much included โ here.

Long before she was one of the countryโs biggest advocates for LGBTI rights, beloved comedian Magda Szubanski was gracing our screens on iconic Australian TV series, Kath & Kim.
As any Aussie will remember, Magdaโs character on the show, Sharon Strzelecki, was a netball and cricket-obsessed, injury-prone woman with a pudding-bowl haircut and who once had a really bad pash-rash.
To celebrate Magdaโs โmock funeralโ at this yearโs Melbourne Writers Festival, her goddaughter, Betty Campbell, dressed up as a mini Sharon โ and the results are incredible.
In the video posted to Instagram, the daughter of singer and television host David Campbell and theatre producer Lisa Campbell can be heard saying: โItโs noiceeee, itโs unusual,โ while wearing Sharonโs netball outfit.
โI give you the future #Sharon Strzeleckiโฆ Ms Betty Campbell!!! my goddaughter and, Iโll think youโll agree, a total Mini Me,โ Madga captioned the post.
โHer mum and Dad โ @davidcampbell73 @lisaluckiest โ transformed her for a video presentation at my mock funeral for @melbwritersfest#MWF18 last night. Should any misfortune befall me (god forbid) Iโm sure young Ms Campbell will step into my runners most capably.โ

Threesome Cat, Romy and Alisha have firmly cemented themselves as this seasonโs โvillainsโ with an argument breaking out at last weekโs cocktail party between Cat and contestant Shannon Baff.
Speaking to NW, Alisha Aitken-Radburn revealed that Brittany confronted Romy about her TV rรฉsumรฉ โ despite the fact she has also acted in the past.
โBrittany gets in Romyโs face about being and actress when she herself has a Star Now profile and has a bloody Getaway showreel on YouTube,โ Alisha said.
Of course, Brittany and Romy arenโt the only two contestants with an acting background: Cassandra Wood has long been an extra on Home & Away, which had many questioning her motives prior to the show.
But thatโs not all: Shannon Baff also had a small role in the Aussie horror film Wolf Creek 2, per The Daily Mail.

Talk about breaking the glass ceiling! A Japanese woman has become the countryโs first female fighter pilot.
Itโs an extraordinary feat considering Japanโs air force only began recruiting women in 1993 and only lifted the ban on female fighter jet pilots in 2015.
Last week, First Lieutenant Misa Matsushima, 26, completed her training to fly F-15s at Japanโs National Defence Academy, reports the BBC.
โAs the first female [fighter] pilot, I will open the way,โ says Matsushima, who was inspired by the Tom Cruise classic Top Gun. โEver since I saw the movie Top Gun when I was in primary school, I have always admired fighter pilots.โ
Matsushima started her duty last week, flying a F-15J fighter jet, which can reach top speeds of 3,000 km/hr.
โI wish to continue to work hard to fulfil my duty โ not just for myself but also for women who will follow this path in the future,โ says Matsushima, who is paving the way for others in a country where gender inequality is high and women are expected to become housewives instead of pursuing a career.
Three other women are already following in Matsushimaโs footsteps and are currently training to join the elite group of fighter pilots.

Bachelor In Paradise stars Keira Maguire and Jarrod Woodgate shocked fans yesterday with news that they have split after nine months together.
Despite being one of the showโsmost unlikely pairings, they quickly captured viewers hearts, but now they have announced their break up, and Keira has hinted that it was not an amicable split.
Taking to Instagram yesterday, a heartbroken Keira confirmed that the pair has gone their separate ways.
โIโm sorry if anyone is disappointed or I have let anyone down,โ a heartbroken Keira shared, before adding, โPlease respect our privacy as this is a very hard time for meโ.
According to the Daily Mail, in a since-deleted comment on the post, Keira hinted that her ex might have been interested in fame than โtrue love.โ
โIโm sorry this has happened,โ a fan wrote on her post. โI thought you two were good for each and brought out the best in [each] other. However, he was more interested in finding true love than becoming part of a power insta couple.โ
Keira then replied to the comment, writing, โYeah, thatโs what I throughly too.โ Assuming she meant to write โthoughtโ not โthroughly.โ
Itโs unclear what she was referring to exactly, but the fact that she has since deleted it also says alot.
The couple have also since unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Jarrod is yet to comment on the split.
Keira and Jarrod were together for nine months, emerged from BIP one of the strongest couples, and quickly moved in together and had even talked of marriage and babies.
The couple were an unlikely pairing, with Keira emerging as โthe villainโ on her season of The Bachelor with Richie Strahan while Jarrod was dubbed the โstage-five clingerโ when he became runner-up on The Bachelorette with Sophie Monk.
Speaking back in May, Keira admitted that the couple found it difficult to watch the show back.
โWe did struggle, and we did have a few blow outs over the show,โ she tellsCosmopolitan. โIt definitely wasnโt easy and weโre not going to deny it. Our relationship did struggle a little bit, but weโre stronger than ever now.โ
โI donโt think people understand how hard it is. Not only do you have to watch it back, but you have to relive it. It creates this really negative environment, which really isnโt healthy. And then youโve got to then relay and talk about it in interviews.
โYou have to kind of take yourself back, because all the interviews are based around what was happening on the show, so you are reliving those moments โ which were so difficult. You do get caught up in it all.โ
Despite the strain the show put on their relationship, the couple appeared stronger than ever with Keira packing up her life in Sydney to live with Jarrod in Melbourne, and the pair split their time between the city and his family Vineyard.

After the farce that saw Australiaโs liberal party undergo a round of musical chairs last week, comes the news that Julie Bishop has decided to step down from her role as Minister for Foreign Affairs.
Despite throwing her name in the ring for the top job โ and being the peopleโs choice for the gig โ Bishop was overlooked by her fellow party members and treasurer Scott Morrison was voted in as Australiaโs 30th Prime Minister.
Bishop shared the news on Twitter, stating โI will remain on the backbench as a strong voice for Western Australia.โ
โI have been pre-selected by the Liberal Party for the seat of Curtin and I have made no decision regarding the next electionโ.
Tributes rolled in for Bishop following the news, with ousted Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull calling her an โInspiring role model for womenโ.
โI thank Julie for her loyalty and friendship over many years but especially as my deputy,โ Turnbull said. โShe has been and remains an inspiring role model for women here and around the world.โ
Today we have lost Australiaโs finest Foreign Minister @JulieBishopMP I thank Julie for her loyalty and friendship over many years but especially as my Deputy. She has been and remains an inspiring role model for women here and around the world.
โTheir strongest performer, most popular minister, and best fundraiser, completely disrespected by a bunch of blokes with half her intellect. Letโs see how they get on without her,โโ said Labor MP Claire OโNeil.
Julie Bishop has been a highly effective Australian foreign minister. Itโs a hard job. Much harder than it looks. We may not always have agreed on policy. Thatโs normal. But she has earned, absolutely, the respect of foreign ministers around the world. https://t.co/mwNDFZJIVa

. @JulieBishopMP would have made a great Liberal Prime Miniser. Iโve always respected her ability to cut through the bull-dust, work across the political divide and get on with her job. Proof the boys-club still have a stranglehold on politics ๐

Sorry to see Julie Bishop will not continue as foreign minister. She did a great job โ strong on US alliance, success in Asia, excellent Middle East policy and admirable focus on Pacific. Always popular with counterparts. Sheโll be missed

Despite rumours swirling that Nick โHoney Badgerโ Cummins has already split from the winner of this season The Bachelor, now it seems that things were more serious than we all thought.
According to NW, the Badge is set to wed his lucky lady, with the pair take part in a commitment ceremony in this yearโs finale.
An insider reportedly told the publication that Cummins told producers he was ready to pop the question and make it official.
โWe thought it was a joke,โ said the source. โBut he said he just wanted to โmake her his missusโ โ and told the crew to call in โany old celebrantโ who could make it happen.โ
โIโve got a much better understanding now of what love is to me,โ Cummins told the magazine previously, before hinting that might have popped the question.
โGoing into the show, I would say that I would not propose โ not even in a million years. But since living itโฆโ
While the show has teased the finale, which shows the bachelor holding a ring, multiple reports have suggested the couple โ whoever they may be โ have already split.
Weโre currently four episodes in and the main contenders for the Bachieโs heart appear to be Brittany, Brooke and dark horse Dasha.

While the world remains on royal baby watch โ it seems Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are indeed adding to their family, but with the addition of the four-legged kind.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly adopted a Labrador who is settling into life with the royal couple at their home in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.
โThe dog is already happily ensconced at their cottage,โ a source told the DailyMail.
โLike the Sussexes, the dog will divide its time between the palace and their country home in the Cotswolds.โ
The name of the newest member of the royal family is yet to be revealed.
Meghan and Harry are following in Prince William and Kate Middletonโs footsteps, who adopted pup Lupo shortly after their wedding in 2011.

Before meeting Prince Harry, Meghan was already a fur mum to her beloved pooches Bogart and Guy, while Meghan flew beagle Guy over to London when she moved, it was thought that Bogart was too old to make the journey.
In her pre-royal life Meghan would often post photos of her โlovesโ on her blog and on Instagram.

However taking to Instagram yesterday, Keira confirmed that the pair have gone their separate ways.
โIโm sorry if anyone is disappointed or I have let anyone down,โ a heartbroken Keira shared, before adding, โPlease respect our privacy as this is a very hard time for meโ.
Keira and Jarrod, who were together for nine months, emerged from BIP one of the strongest couples, and quickly moved in together and had even talked of marriage and babies.

There is magic in stories. We all remember hearing them as children, and we loved them. Imaginary adventures set in faraway places. Tales about how the dishwasher isnโt working. It doesnโt matter! Whether made up by parents or read from books, kids love to hear stories.
Our recent work showed reading to children positively impacts long term academic achievement more than many other activity (including playing music with them, or doing craft). We found the more frequently parents read to their children, the better their childrenโs NAPLAN scores in different areas.
In our most recent study, we asked parents to read a wordless storybook to their three to five-year-old children titled The Wolf and Seven Little Goats. We also tested children in many areas of their important cognitive skills, such as language proficiency, memory, self-control, and friendship skills.
Through examining the different ways parents tell stories, we have pinpointed which elements of shared reading are most beneficial for childrenโscognitive development.
1. Tune in to your child
Perhaps the most important aspect of reading to children is to tune in to your child. Listen to your childโs cues. Do they like the story? Do they know the vocabulary? Are they paying attention to the pictures more, or the text?
Try to coach your child, not to instruct them. Instead of saying: โlook they are going to cook some food, maybe they are hungryโ, you can ask โwhat are they doing?โ or โwhy do you think theyโre doing that?โ.
Be sensitive about whether they are listening and engaged or uninterested and disengaged. If they are disengaged, are there questions you can ask to make them more interested? Do you think theyโll like a different type of story better? The best books for your child are the ones theyenjoymost.
2. Ask questions
Parents who ask lots of questions engage in a more fun and informative way with their children. Ask them if they know the vocabulary, if they can guess what the characters are going to do next, and why theyโve done what theyโve done.
These questions are not only helpful because they help children gain new knowledge and ways of thinking, it alsohelps strengthenthe emotional bond between parent and child. Childrenlike to feeltheyโre a part of the task, not that theyโre being told how to do things.
3. Go beyond describing images or reading text
In our study, we gave parents a wordless picture book. An important difference we observed between parents was some only describe what they see. Some go beyond the picture.
For example, when the mother goat in the picture book comes home and sees the door to the house open, one parent said:
โWhen their mother came home and was looking forward to seeing her children and hugging them and telling them a story, she suddenly saw that the door is open. She was shocked!โ
Another parent said:
โThe mother came home and saw the door is open; she went inside and looked for the children.โ
This parent is only describing the picture.
The first parent is imagining what is beyond the picture and text. This is a richer way to tell a story to children, and ultimately leads to better cognitive developmental outcomes for children. This is because it teaches abstract thinking, which is the basis for many of thehigher order cognitive abilitiessuch as problem solving and critical analysis.
4. Make logical links between different parts of the story
Another element that has a strong link to the development of childrenโs cognitive skills is the way parents build logical links between different parts of the story.
Often the events in books unfold very quickly. One minute, the wolf eats the little goats, and the next minute he is found by the mother. Some parents try to make the sequence of events more logical than others.
For example, in this picture, when the wolf is coming to knock on the door, one parent said:
โThe wolf, who realised the mother is not home, came and knocked on the door.โ
This sentence is lacking logical links. How did the wolf know the mother is not home? Why should he come and knock on the door? What did he want?
Another parent said:
โThe wolf, who was sunbathing in the bush, saw that the mother is going to get some food. He thought, oh, the little goats are alone at home, and itโs a good time for me to go and trick them and maybe get a good lunch!โ
The parent here is clearly providing logical links between these different parts of the story.
5. Add relevant details
We also found most parents add many details to the story to make it more interesting or comprehensive. Butrelevant details are the most useful in terms of improving childrenโs learning. Relevant details are the kind of details that help make the story easier to understand.
For example, one parent said:
โThe little goat, who was wearing the yellow shirt and was the smallest said: โwe shouldnโt open the door! How do we know this is our mother? She has just left.โโ
Here, wearing a yellow shirt is a descriptive detail, but it doesnโt add much to the story.
Another mother said:
โThe smallest one, who was also the cleverest and very careful, saidโฆโ
This second parent is clearly adding a detail (that the smaller one is also the cleverest and careful) that makes the story more meaningful and easier to follow.
6. Talk about mental and emotional concepts
We found parents who not only describe the events of a story but also discussabstract conceptsrelated to emotions, desires and thoughts tend to have children who are better cognitively skilled. These children develop a better understanding of othersโ emotions, better friendship skills, and even improved memory and higher order cognitive skills that are useful in later life. These lead toacademic successas well as better skills to build friendships and perform well in social relationships.

While weโre all talking about Malcolm Turnbull stepping down from the Liberal party and Scott Morrison becoming Australiaโs new Prime Minister (our sixth in 11 years), weโre not talking about the important issues.
Because the Government adjourned parliament early today, the House was unable to consider and pass legislation that would stop domestic violence victims being directly cross-examined by their abusers.
As well as not passing the important domestic violence reform bill, the upcoming Womenโs Safety Ministersโ meeting was cancelled because of the leadership crisis, as MP Linda Burney pointed out on Twitter earlier today.
Just a reminder that because Govt adjourned parl early, House was unable to consider and pass reform bill which would have put end to shameful practice of DV victims being directly cross-examined by abusers.
Also, as the Govtโs leadership crisis unfolds, the upcoming Womenโs Safety Ministersโ meeting was cancelled. A reminder to all that really important issues are falling by the wayside.

The โ90s saw everyone go mad for logomania and thanks to maximalism, itโs having a huge revival right now.
With luxury houses like Gucci and Versace bringing back branding in full force, this logo driven trend is here to stay.
Celebrities, influencers, bloggers and fashion editors are all jumping on the bandwagon and with so many so many ways to wear this trend, itโs no surprise!

Blake Livelyโs press tour outfits have quickly become the actressโ fashion trademark. When promoting an upcoming film, the mother-of-two will duck out multiple times a day for a costume change, once clocking up a total of seven looks in 24 hours.
But while promoting her new movie A Simple Favour, the 30-year-old has come up with a uniform of sorts, wearing nothing but power suits for seven days straight.
While power suits are undoubtedly having a moment, a la Hillary Clinton, Blake is clearly doing more than just ticking off a trend.
So whatโs it all about?
As pointed out by The Cut, the actressโ upcoming film is about a mummy vlogger (Anna Kendrick) whose best friend and fellow mum, Emily Nelson, disappears.
In the trailer for the black comedy, Emily (Lively) is seen wearing a lot of pantsuits, which is likely why Blake has been ditching the dresses and opting for two-piece suits.
Itโs not the first publicity stunt Blake has pulled for the new film, either. Back in May, she deleted every Instagram on her account, unfollowed all her friends (and husband, Ryan Reynolds), and started following users named Emily Nelson.
In conclusion? Given all the hype, velvet and neon, this flick better be good.

Chances are youโve heard of Glossier: founded by New York cool-girl Emily Weiss, 33, the line of skincare and make-up products not only sets trends but also it manages to set itself apart.
If 16-step contouring tutorials are the problem, then Glossierโs clean packaging and user-friendly millennial pink products are the cure. Itโs basically, no make-up, make-up. In the last year, Glossier has expanded beyond its hero products (Brow Bow and Milky Jelly cleanser) to include perfume, eyeshadow and most recently mascara. Beyoncรฉ, Saoirse Ronan and Chrissy Tegen have all worn the brandโs make-up on the red carpet.
Unfortunately, Glossier is yet to announce shipping to Australia. However, after successful expansions to the U.K. and Canada, the announcement canโt be too far away. If youโre *really* keen then there are alternatives but Australiaโs Post Mate service is almost as expensive as a ticket to New York. In the meantime, here are the best alternatives which you can purchase locally.

We know youโve seen The Devil Wears Prada (more times than you might like to admitโฆ), but as for what life is really like in the office of a glossy fashion magazine? Yes, there are similarities (and youโll never catch anyone in a cerulean sweater) but the reality couldnโt be more different (in fact, itโs surprisingly down to earth).
When style influencer Jasmin Howell visited the marie claire office recently as part of the FIAT 500 Fashion Files series, she was met with the frisson of excitement (and undercurrent of anxiety) that defines every deadline day. In the midst of sending the bumper October issue to the printers, editor Nicky Briger took 10 to give Jasmin a glimpse at the busy world behind the magazine, and why it will always be a platform to champion for change. Watch the video interview above.
โWe always say itโs the fashion magazine for thinking Australian women, and I do think thatโs absolutely true,โ Nicky tells Jasmin of the magazineโs core values: style and substance. โWeโve championed for paid maternity leave, the gender pay gap, an end to domestic violence, marriage equality โ thereโs a lot to fight for.โ
Nicky Briger and Jasmin Howell
The magazine is as full of hard-hitting features as it is jaw-droppingly beautiful fashion โ although if itโs new season fashion trends youโre looking for, the October issue is jam-packed.
โIn fashion magazine land, it used to be all about the September issue, but actually now itโs more about October,โ Nicky tells Jasmin. โThatโs when spring really starts, so weโve got a bumper fashion edition โ there are three to four fashion shoots in this issue โ showcasing the latest trends.โ
As for how the marie claire fashion editors choose those trends? Twice a year, they head to New York, London, Paris and Milan for Fashion Week (really fashion month). Hotbeds of both emerging and established talent (increasingly, youโll find Australian designers in the mix โ both Kym Ellery and Toni Maticevski recently showed in Paris), the shows gives fashion editors the inside scoop on whatโs about to start trending around the world.
โBold colour is going to be huge this spring/summer,โ says Nicky. โThe colours weโll be seeing for spring racing are particularly bold this season.โ
From trend talk to pouring over fashion and beauty layouts to negotiating cover shoots with international stars, any given day in the marie claire office is equal parts grit and glamour. Hit play on the above video for an inside glimpse.

Some peopleโs drink of choice is a nice glass of wine, while others sip on martinis; I however, love nothing more than a hot cup of tea.
My tea is a mug of warmth and joy that soothes my soul. I love all tea, from the traditional earl grey to the herbal lemongrass and ginger, all the way down to the jazzy peach, papaya, apple and roasted chicory combo.
I thought I knew all there was to know about my beloved drinkโฆbut oh boy was I wrong.
The Sydney Tea Festival introduced me to the more obscure side of tea, and Iโm pleased to say I made some delicious and unusual new discoveries.
Here are three new things I learnt about tea:
1. Chocolate Tea
It exists and I love it.
Iโm not exaggerating when I say my life changed a little when I tried the Coconut Cacao Tea Blend from The Husk Mill. The tea doesnโt taste like watery chocolate as I was expecting, but a creamy not too sweet dark chocolate (with just the tiniest hint of coconut) in liquid form. Itโs delicious, the perfect winter night time brew, and also packed with antioxidants.
Once upon a time tea came in a bag and it was placed in hot water. But the good folks at The Rabbit Hole opened my eyes to tea mixers; a thick liquid that has been brewed from real tea and turned into a concentrate. These tea mixers can create tea lattes by pouring the concentrate into warm milk. I tried their Turkish Delight tea latte and it was an utterly divine treat.
Tea and alcohol was something I was unsure mixed well, but I am must say I have officially been converted. The gin masters at Archie Rose Distilling Co confirmed that us tea lovers can be indulged by a naughtier side of our beloved tea.

Over the first four episodes of the new season of The Bachelor, weโve watched poor lovelorn contestant Cassandra Wood, lust after and pour her heart out to Bachelor Nick โHoney Badgerโ Cummins.
While the pair admittedly knew each other in their pre-Bachie lives, itโs clear that the relationship was more serious on Cassโ end than we all (possibly Nick included) realised, and this week the 23-year-old made sure he knew it, reading him a letter from her diary.
And in the first few episodes, it was a bit of a laugh, all the girls know what theyโre getting into when they go on these shows, right? Theyโre free game and have to take the nasty comments in order to get their 15 minutes of fame, right?
Well maybe sometimes, but in this case itโs clearly gone too far. Look weโre not sure whatโs gone on behind the scenes here, but it doesnโt appear that Cass did know what she was getting into when she arrived and found the Bachelor was someone she already had feelings for previously. And itโs just become uncomfortable and even upsetting to watch this poor girl, who is so young and vulnerable, have her heart broken on national television.
In last nightโs rose ceremony, Cass was deliberately edited to receive the final rose, and her anguish was painful to see.
Weโve all been in Cassโ shoes at some point in our lives, in love with someone who doesnโt love us back. But most of us havenโt had to deal with that on national television, let alone while the guy simultaneously dates her 24 housemates.
Think about how devastated you are when you accidentally double tap your crushโs photo from 2014 on Instagram. Now imagine that being broadcast on national television.
And viewers are in agreement, while initially Cass was branded a โstalkerโ and a โstage-five clingerโ and quickly became the butt of the joke, the sentiment online has now changed, with viewers rallying behind the vulnerable young contestant and urging the Honey Badger to let her down easy and โsend the poor girl homeโ.
Cass herself admitted in an interview with Who magazine that itโs been hard to watch the footage back.
โItโs TV and you only get to see what they show,โ she said. โSeeing things online, like being called a stage-five clinger can be really hardโ but I have to put my heart on my sleeve here and be open and honest and tell him how I feel.โ
But Cass isnโt alone.
Former Married At First Sight star Tracey Jewel recently opened up about her mental health battles after her time on the reality show, revealing that she sought help from a psychologist for post-traumatic stress syndrome before eventually admitting herself into a facility for treatment.
โIโve been bullied and cyber-trolled relentlessly, pretty much all year,โ she told New Idea, previously writing on Instagram, โYouโve won trolls. I give up. Youโve ruined my life. Youโve involved my friends, family, clients and sponsors. I have lost everything because of your relentless hate. Hope youโre happy youโve claimed another one.โ
Other former reality stars have also spoken out about the toll the showโs take, including Big Brotherโs Tully Smith and Survivorโs Anneliese Wilson.
โItโs hard to watch back knowing how I felt in those moments and looking at the position that I was in,โ Wilson previously told News.com.au.
Love Island UK star Sophie Gradon was open about her struggles with depression and anxiety after her time on the show, before eventually going on to take her own life.
โPeople applying need to know how serious things can be, they see a claim to fame, they donโt see that in ten yearsโ time, when youโre married with babยญies, youโll still be haunted for the rest of your life,โ Zara told The Mirror.
So as viewers, while we can get lost in the entertainment of it all, we need to remember these are humans behind the screen and to have a little compassion when watching these shows and sharing our thoughts on social media.

Now that weโve officially entered Virgo season, we have some exciting news for those who happen to be Virgos, Libras and Geminis. According to a new study, it turns out that anybody born under those stars is more likely to be super intelligent and could even wind up snagging a Nobel Prize.
The team behind Go Compare analysed over a century of Nobel Prize awards and 900 different winners to figure out which star signs were the most prevalent.
Gemini swooped into first place with 97 winners, with Libra following closely behind with 93 and Virgos at 88. If youโre wondering if any names you recognise happen to be among them, Literature winner Bob Dylan happens to be a Gemini and peace prize winners Jimmy Carter Jr. and Mother Teresa are both Libras and Virgos respectively.
As for who trailed along at the very bottom? Well, itโs not great news for Capricorns who had just 57 winners. (Famous Capricorn Martin Luther King Jr. did win a Peace prize though, so you can wear that badge with prize.) I personally feel slightly attacked as a Leo, since Leos and Scorpios came in second last with 64 each.
I mean at the end of the day, this is all just a bit of fun really. In all honesty, weโd be lucky to be as intelligent as anybody on the Nobel Prize list.
On the flip side though, Capricorns are supposed to be the most successful star sign according to another study by UK Domain.
After charting the star signs of a bunch of CEOs, they found that Capricorns, Geminis and Libras came top of the list.
When it comes to which star sign plays the hardest though, another study revealed that the zodiac signs with the most active sex life are Aquariuses, Virgos, Tauruses and Piscesโ.
Wondering where else the other star signs came on the list? Hereโs the full list below, along with some of the corresponding Nobel Prize winnersโฆ

The Duchess of Sussex will also have to respectfully bend the knee to close friend Kate Middletonโฆ eventually.
Kate and Meghan have got along from day one, with a source telling E! News the Duchess of Cambridge made it clear after their first meeting โthat should Meghan ever need something, or just want to chat, she shouldnโt hesitate to get in touch.โ
Itโs believed that Kate and Meghan have become even closer friends with Meghan amid the constant stream of Markle family drama. โ
The friends were even seen laughing and enjoying the tennis at Wimbledon together this earlier year.
Despite the friendship, royal tradition dictates that as soon as William is crowned King of England, and Kate becomes Queen Consort, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be expected to perform the royal greeting at all formal events out of respect.
But the traditions donโt stop with the brother and sister-in-law of the King and Queen of England, it turns out that Prince George, Prince Charlotte and Prince Louis will also have to bow to their parents when they lead the monarchy.
Bowing to your own mum and dad would not be an ideal situation for any kid, but hey, itโs the royals weโre talking about.
Considering how Meghan has handled all other royal customs like a pro, bowing to her BFF should be a breeze.

Carrie Bickmore has long been one of Australiaโs most loved personalities. The mother-of-two not only graces our screens every night for The Project, she spends her downtime raising money (over $4.5 million, that is) for brain cancer research.
Now, adding to the many reasons we love her, the former marie claire cover star has taken to Instagram to share a hilarious post about her wrinkles.
When her daughter, Evie, asked what the โstripesโ were on her head and why she doesnโt herself have any at the tender age of three, the TV host replied, โThey are wrinklesโ because โmummy is old.โ
โNo Mummy, you are not old, you are young and pretty like a stripey tiger,โ the toddler responded.
โMy daughter certainly knows how to suck up after a sledge ๐๐๐โค๏ธโ Carrie joked at the end of her post.
Fans immediately applauded Carrie for her laidback attitude to ageing and for staying natural, even with a high-profile job.
โI love how you are unapologetically you, Iโve looked at those lines many a time, and thought about my own and all the faces filled with chemical to pull them smooth, and Iโm glad you choose not to, Iโm glad you make it ok,โ one fan wrote.
โI prefer the phrase โwise linesโโฆ we all get them. Part of life!! Youโre still absolutely stunning,โ another person commented.
This isnโt the first time Carrie has used social media to break perceptions that sheโs perfect, either.
Taking to Instagram in May, the 37-year-old posted a photo of her messy bedroom, writing: โMy side of the bed ๐ Been a big week!!! Time to clean up for the week ahead. I promise itโs not always this messy ๐โ

After days of turmoil, the liberal party have voted and declared Scott Morrison to be Australiaโs new Prime Minister.
Turnbull clung to the top job right to the last minute, as challenger Peter Dutton fronted up to his office with the 43 signatures he required to force the meeting and the ballot.
The party met at 12:20 and within 20 minutes and 45 โ 40 votes Morrison took the leadership of the Liberal party from Dutton and becomes Australiaโs 30th Prime Minister.
Julie Bishop was eliminated in the first round of votes.
Turnbull lost the leadership of his party after the second spill against him within four days.
The former PM now has to decide whether he will quit politics, and if he does, this will trigger a by-election for his seat of Wentworth. If he does this will cost the new PM, Morrison, the one-seat majority in the lower house and in turn could force him to call an early election.
Josh Frydenberg has been elected at the deputy leader of the party.
Dutton has declared his โabsolute loyaltyโ to Morrison.
"Heโs got a big job as a healer; first of the Liberal Party and then of the nation," the ANU's John Warhurst tells @rachelmealey. "Scott Morrison has emerged the victor, possibly influenced by doubts over Peter Duttonโs capacity to sit in the Parliament." #auspol#libspillpic.twitter.com/LhUB6mOMwD
"Ultimately theyโve gone for Scott Morrison because he wasnโt trying to tear the prime minister down. Heโs got a big job ahead. If you were a betting person, I think Laborโs got the edge," says @PatsKarvelas#auspol#libspill

Not only were Brittany and Nick born in the same town, theyโre the same age, they have the same passions and Nick hinted that he ends up with a brunette.
Now it looks like the Honey Badgerโs family might have confirmed our suspicions with their recent Facebook activity.
Leigh Cummins, thought to be Nickโs brother, has friended Brittany on Facebook and Nickโs sister, Bernadette, wished the radiographer a happy birthday, The Daily Mail reports.
Fans also noticed the former Wallabies winger liked Brittanyโs post from her pool date with him, which she captioned: โThe most perfect end to the most perfect dayโฆโ

Along with a jolt of caffeine, there are few things that are as essential to the marie claire teamโs morning ritual as the right hair tool. According to a quick office poll, the best ones fulfil two important criteriaโthey save time and they keep our tresses looking healthy and shiny. No matter your hair texture or length, here are the dryers, wands and flat irons that never let us down.
Kathryn Madden, Features Editor
Iโm a bit of a blow-dry addict so, in a bid to save my locks from extreme heat damage and breakage, I invested in a Dyson Supersonic hair dryer. It does the job fast, keeps my hair sleek and shiny, and is lightweight and streamlined by design โ perfect when travelling.
Jana Pokorny, Fashion Director
My favorite hair tool is a gold comb that Renya Xydis gave me called, Janeke Gold Wide Tooth Comb. Itโs perfect for combing through conditioner and after towel drying the hair as it just seems to slip right through.
Alley Pascoe, Entertainment and News Editor
Iโm not exaggerating when I say this hairdryer (Dyson Supersonic hair dryer) changed my life. I am useless at blowdrying/styling/brushing my hair, so this fool-proof tool has been revolutionary for my morning routine (again, not exaggerating). The best part? Itโs super quiet. Iโve had entire phone conversations with my boyfriend on loud speaker while blowdrying my hair. Talk about #multitasking.
Sarah Grant, Features Director
I donโt have a lot of time for my hair these days (hello Motherhood) but when I want to make an effort I always reach for my Babyliss Pro Ceramic Curling Tong. Itโs ten minutes of time for a few days of impact, and always makes me feel like Iโve got a bit of the old me back (the one who used to have an hour to get ready). Tong on!
Isabelle Truman, Senior Digital Fashion and Features Editor
I recently cut my hair short (above my shoulders for the first time ever!) and my GHD Curve Creative Curl Wand has gone from gathering dust at the back of my beauty cupboard to a bathroom cabinet staple in an attempt to covet those cool-girl wavy locks.
Sally Hunwick, Beauty Director
I love the Dyson Supersonic. A complete game-changing for my morning routine, the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer blow dries my hair to silky smooth in record time; great news as, being a working mother, I never have much time in the morning. The other bonus is my Dyson is quiet enough for me to still be able to watch (and hear) the morning news while I do my thing.
Anna McClelland, Assistant Digital Content Manager
Iโve been using the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer ever since it launched, and I honestly love it. Iโm always in a mad rush in the mornings so I love that I can blow-dry my hair fast without the risk of heat damage thanks to the Dysonโs clever temperature control system. Iโm also convinced it makes my hair shinier โ a win-win.
Arielle Tsoukatos, Senior Digital Beauty And Lifestyle Editor
My hair is naturally super fine which means I could never create voluminous, bouncy waves until I tried the Cloud Nine Curling Wand. Itโs designed to be used from any angle so you can create large curls and loose waves. Plus, the variable temperature control minimises any risk of heat damage.

The Bachelor once again provided us with some quality TV last night, with episode four jam-packed with drama, a group date, yet another rejected kiss and a double elimination.
Episode 4 saw underdog Dasha on a one-on-one date with the Honey Badger, where the two discussed what they want for their future (spoiler: both want kids) and the Russian PT snagged both a rose and a kiss (lucky gal).

Our government is in a state of utter chaos right now, and while weโre all shaking our heads in disgust, itโs the Aussie way to take a shitty situation and have a good old laugh at it. Because if you donโt laugh, youโll cry, right.
So while we wait to find out who will become our sixth Prime Minister in eight years, hereโs the #LibSpill according to Twitter:
While I understand the glee with which people are watching the Liberal Party self destruct, the thought of Dutton as PM is so chilling that I just can't take any pleasure from this
This is a man unmoved by a burned baby, and who regularly and falsely claimed that refugees were hurting themselves cynically (as if that mattered), instead of out of desperate hopelessness, in an attempt to justify his own cruelty to them in the first place.

We went behind the scenes of the Jasmine & Will campaign shoot with model and entrepreneur, Lara Worthington, 31, to find out exactly what a day in the life of Lara entails.
6AM
Iโm not an early riser โ neither are my children (Rocket 3, ad Racer, 1) โ but this morning, Iโve carefully timed a workout before the boys wake up. Exercising is my favourite part of the day because it is my own time โ Iโm not on my phone, working or thinking about anything.
7AM
It only takes me about 15 minutes to get ready โ even less sin I have had children. Showers are non-negotiable for me, though. I canโt leave the house (or go to bed) without having a hot shower.
7:15AM
I also need to have something in my stomach before I walk out the door, so I have a bowl of porridge for breakfast โ really boring!
Iโm really into podcasts and listen to the Goop on with Gwyneth Paltrow and Oprah Winfrey in the car on the way to the shoot. Iโm the kind of person who writes down Oprah quotes as inspiration. Iโm a big nerd!
8AM
I arrive at the Jasmine & Will campaign shoot on location at a mansion in Koreatown in Los Angeles and go straight into hair and make-up. I do my own hair. Sometimes I think itโs better just leaving it than putting product in it โ especially for the just-woken-up, be-head look we are going for.
9AM
I get to work on set. Itโs an all-Australian team. My friend Marina Afonina is styling, Filomena Natoli is doing my make-up and Darren McDonald is the photographer. (Jasmine & Will founder) Jasmine Lindsay is there as well. It makes it really easy when everyone knows each other.
11AM
I shoot my favourite sleepwear look of the day, which was a customised robe with my name on it. They gifted it to me at the end of the day and now I wear it all the time.
1PM
We order lunch in from a vegan place named Cafรฉ Gratitude that I love. Iโm not vegan, but Iโm pescatarian โ I only eat fish. Even though Iโm wearing loose-fitting pyjamas, I donโt want to feel full or heavy, so I opt for a salad. We get it delivered through Postamtes, which is an app thatโs kind of like UberEats but on a much bigger scale. They deliver whatever you want within 30 minutes. Itโs like your own personal courier. I live on their app.
3PM
My emails are piling up, but I ignore them. Iโm not great at responding quickly to people โ my close friends know that I can take days to respond. I prefer to set aside a block every few days and do it all in one go.
We head to my favourite restaurant in LA โ an Italian place called Pace โ for a team dinner after the hoot. Being able to relax and enjoy each otherโs company is the best part of the day. We order pizza and pasta โ my go-to.
9PM
I tidy up the house and wrangle the boys to bed (which can be a struggle). My husband (actor Sam Worthington) has been filming for the past eight months, which has been pretty difficult, but Iโve been juggling things with some help from my mum. Iโm exhausted after a big day, but work exhaustion is a lot different from parental exhaustion. I sometimes feel like going to work is easier!
10PM
After my non-negotiable shower, I go straight to bed. I like my bedroom as dark as possible, so sometimes I sleep with a Tempur-Pedic eye mask on. It is so good, I swear by it.

After over a decade as the face of Myer, Jennifer Hawkins has walked her final runway show for the Australian department store.
After the appointment of Elyse Knowles as ambassador, many speculated the former Miss Universe would resign from her 12-year reign, something she confirmed in a lengthy Instagram post last week.
โWay back in 2006 I was approached by Myer to sign a small 3-month contract to feature in a Christmas campaign. Little did I know then that it would lead to being their Face and spokesperson,โ Jen wrote.
โItโs now been an extraordinary relationship of 12 years! Iโve always been very proud and extremely grateful to work with such a beautiful and iconic company.โ
โAfter 12 years itโs time to move onto a new chapter in my life. Iโll be finishing up my role with Myer this November but I would like to take this moment to thank everyone at Myer โ the staff, the amazing designers, the suppliers and everyone else for working alongside me over those 12 years,โ she continued.
โMyer will always hold a special place in my heart and I wish the Myer team every success for the future.โ
Last night, at Myerโs Spring/Summer 2018 collections launch in Sydney, Jen walked her final show for the brand, as Elyse Knowles and Josh Gibson walked their first.

Undoubtedly, thereโs no greater pleasure in life than finishing a book. Having a good read to cherish, share, and recommend is equally fun and bittersweet but hunting for that next page-turning thriller can be a challenge. But for all of you bonafide bookworms out there who thought reading books with your friends is as good as it gets, you can now read along with a slew of celebrities too!
From Emma Watson to Oprah Winfrey, these Hollywood A-listers are turning their life long love of reading into a global phenomenon with their favourite literary picks. With an innumerable number of recommendations literally at our fingertips, the more difficult question is whose shelf is really worth getting star-struck over. So, if youโre in need of a good read, weโve rounded up the best celebrity book clubs that will have your pile stocked in no time.
Emma Roberts discusses all things books, from the newest releases to rare literary finds, in her online book club โBelletristโ. In collaboration with writer Karah Preiss, the Scream Queens actress also regularly sits down with her favourite authors for exclusive interviews.
Oprah started her own book club back in 1996 and over 20 years later it is still going strong! The media mogulโs book club consists of her own recommendations, author interviews and book guides, making it the ultimate book club to be a part of.
Now, Oprah has announced she will be partnering with Apple to give her book club another element. According to Oprah, the new and improved vision for the book club will include interviews with authors and recommendations via video.
โI want to reach that sweet spot where insight and perspective, truth and tolerance actually intersect,โ she said.
Reese Witherspoonโs book club may have begun as a casual social media endeavour, however, like everything she does, it was an instant success. With over 600,000 Instagram followers, the actressโ monthly selections are highly anticipated.
Emma Watson launched her feminist online book club, Our Shared Space, to inspire and encourage more women to read feminist inspired novels. The United Nations Global Ambassador also regularly takes to the streets to hide books in secret locations for people to read all over the world.
Award-winning actor, designer and producer Sarah Jessica Parker has her own book club in partnership wth ALAโs Book Club Central. SJP is an avid bookworm as she regularly shares her favourite reads on Instagram.
Lena Dunham is a voracious reader who frequently shares her favourite reads on Instagram. The actress also has her own book club, in collaboration with Jenni Konner, called Lenny Letter where she features her top picks every Thursday in what is called #LitThursday.

I like Julie Bishop. Not so much for her actions in government โ after all, as Foreign Minister you donโt do much except have nice dinners with allies or make tutting noises in the direction of oblivious adversaries, and what does a Deputy PM do anyway? Nor do I admire the side sheโs chosen, with her party responsible for one witless cock-up after another, from Nauru to energy plans to the catastrophe that is the NBN.
No, what I like about Julie Bishop is her coolness. Sheโs so icy. Look at her, metaphorically painting a fingernail fuchsia while her hooligan male colleagues claw each other to pieces.
Sheโs a poised, blonde hyena, eyelids shut lazily against the midday sun, waiting for the big boys to bleed out every last twitch of fight they have left in them, leaving her to devour the juicy bits they leave behind.
Sheโs Scarlett OโHara, secretly cramming numbers and book-learnings into her sharp, smart brain while the wild-eyed menfolk slaughter each other at Antietam and Gettysburg. Their numbers decimated, she flounces in, in her hoop skirts and builds a quick and dirty fortune in the dying embers of the South.
Fine, perhaps Iโm romanticising things a touch. Maybe Iโm desperate to find something faintly stirring about yet another embarrassing Australian leadership spill. But whatever the case I find it reassuring to watch a coolheaded woman sit on the sidelines until she quietly starts canvassing support for her run when the time is right. It shows judgement. It shows restraint. It shows that sheโs the adult in the room.
Itโs what women do. We wait. We watch. We learn. We lunge.
Of course there could be another, rather less inspiring, explanation as to why Bishop is leaving her tilt at the top job so late. After all, this isnโt her first rodeo; she reportedly toyed with a leadership run during the 2015 spill. It could be โ like so many women close to the tops of their game โ that she hasnโt felt ready until now. In fact research shows that women tend to wait much longer than men to take on big government roles because they doubt their own fitness or qualification for the gig.
And in this yearโs upcoming mid-term elections in the US, there are more women running than ever but almost all of these women are wildly overqualified compared to their male counterparts โ largely, itโs surmised, because they feel they have to be.
So which was it for Bishop? Was she unsure of her bona fides up til now and has finally found the courage to grab the Turnbull by the horns? Or is she more calculating than that, and is making a smart, bloodless decision based the electorateโs mood and the strength โ or lack of โ of her opponents?
Whichever it is, I hold high hopes of seeing her pick little bits of Malcolm Turnbull and Peter Dutton and Scott Morrison out of her molars with a toothpick sometime in the near future as she folds her napkin in her lap and waits for the main course.

The royal family are a hit with the public, for the simple reason that they are relatable.
Gone are the days where we would only see a royal waving from Buckingham Palace balcony. Now they are accessible, all over social media, from Princess Eugenie dominating Instagram with her behind the scenes royal snaps to the Queen and Prince Philipโs Twitter account.
For their love of emojis and normal TV habits, the millennial royals โ Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle โ are undoubtedly the most popular among the public, well, with the exception of Queen Liz of course.
โAll the research I did found him to be brilliantly funny, very clever, very popular,โ Matt enthused of the 97-year-old. โIn the Royal house heโs the most popular of all of them. If youโve talked to any of the staff, Philipโs the one they all love really.โ
The actor continued: โHeโs a bit more of a man of the people. The royal protocol hasnโt dogged him in quite the same way his whole life and thereโs a sort of rebellion in him and a naughtiness and a cheekiness. I think heโs quite affable and open by all accounts with the staff.โ
